Dynamic Navigation opens in new window

I currently have an KM Navigation iView assigned to Dynamic Navigation of a page.  Clicking on internal links in the Navigation iView opens in a new window.  Is there any way to configure the KM Navigation iView (assigned to Dynamic Navigation) to display in the Portal content area instead of opening in a separate window?

If you're using Safari, choose Preferences from the Safari menu, click on Tabs, and change the setting.

  • How to Set Individual Managed Metadata Navigation Links to Open in New Window?

    I am using a managed metadata term set for the global navigation in my client's site. Most of the global navigation links point to pages in the current site, and should open in the current browser window/tab as the end user is just navigating within the
    site content. However, I have one particular node in the navigation term set that points to related content scattered around other external sites. The client wants these links to open a new window.
    Unfortunately, I can't seem to set the target for navigation links in the term set. If I was using standard global navigation, I'd be able to select the "Open in new window" checkbox when setting up the link, but that option doesn't appear to be
    supported via MMD navigation.
    Any clever suggestions?
    Thanks!

    I had a similarish requirement at a client once upon a time, they wanted any links that went outside of the intranet web applications to open in a new window.
    The way we managed that was to use jQuery to overwrite the standard hyperlink references for any hrefs that didn't point to internal sites to use the same javascript functions that SharePoint used for links configured to open in a new window. It worked out
    as being about half a dozen lines; check the URL and if it doesn't begin with a set range of options then overwrite the on click behaviour using standard jQuery behaviour.
    If you want it site wide then you just add jQuery and the code snippet to the master page, if you just want it in some places then add a CEWP or a HTML form web part to the relevant pages.

    A new tab opens by default as a blank tab (about:blank).
    If that isn't the case then an extension has changed that behavior.

    You can middle-click or hold down Ctrl and left-click the Home button on the Navigation toolbar to open the Home page in a new tab.
    You can look at this extension to set which page to open in a new tab:

  • I can't open a new window in Firefox 4 on my mac. Was working great. I installed new mac firmware and restarted, probably without closing Firefox properly. Now window won't open.

    Hi:
    As noted above, Firefox won't open a new window. I restarted machine without closing Firefox. Now, I get the Firefox menu bar but it won't open a window. I'm using mac, with OS X 10.6

    Firefox doesn't install new versions of plugins, but Flash may update itself automatically.<br />
    You are still one version behind on Flash, current is Flash 10.1 r85<br />

  • How do I Open a New Window to the Same URL?

    When I click CTRL-N to open a new WINDOW, is there a way to have that new window open to the SAME URL as the one I was on (instead of opening to my Home Page)?

    Hi jpeg,
    Not exactly what you want but it may help.
    You can right click a link or middle click it to open in a new tab, so that is an indirect method of duplicating a tab.
    *[[Keyboard shortcuts - Perform common Firefox tasks quickly]]
    *[[Use mouse shortcuts to perform common tasks in Firefox]]
    A more direct method is to drag a tab with a Ctrl + Left Click
    Alt+Enter creates a new tab from the search or address bar.
    It is possible to customise the newtab page. It is even possible to set it to any chosen URL, but I am not aware of a method of setting it a dynamic tab in current focus, which is what you may wish for.

  • "Open in New Window" function in the page toolbar

    Hi,
    I am new to portal development and I have what looks like as an easy Iview modification:
    I need to implement the "open in new window" Function as a link, directly in the page toolbar (next to History, Back, Forward...) and not as an Option in the menu.
    This should be done in the Pagetoolbar and not the light pageToolbar.
    I downloaded the PAR file "com.sap.portal.navigation.pagetoolbar" but I don't how what I should change.
    Can someone please help me?
    Many thanks and points in advance.
    Regards

    Hi Stephane,
    Are you using the default framework page in your desktop. <b>Use the light framework page. It has the "Open in new window" as a link in the page tool bar.</b>
    If you still wish to stick to the default framework page; firstly you may want to remove the existing "open in new window" from the menu. Then you may need to copy the same code from the light fw toolbar par file for that 1 single link and paste it in your default fw toolbar. I can tell you the exact code tomorrow.
    Hope the first option may be desirable to you.

  • Universal worklist task open in new window

    Hello
    We have an ESS implementation in portal.
    In worklist when user clicks on any line item, a task gets triggered. Now this task gets opened in new window which is a standard functionality.
    Below is XML which retrieves view for this clicked task,
    <ItemType name="uwl.task.webflow.TS90000018.SAP_R3" connector="WebFlowConnector" defaultView="DefaultView" defaultAction="launchWebDynPro" executionMode="default">
          <ItemTypeCriteria systemId="SAP_R3" externalType="TS90000018" connector="WebFlowConnector"/>
          <Actions>
            <Action name="launchWebDynPro" groupAction="" handler="SAPWebDynproLauncher" returnToDetailViewAllowed="yes" launchInNewWindow="yes" launchNewWindowFeatures="resizable=yes,scrollbars=yes,status=yes,toolbar=no,menubar=no,location=no,directories=no">
              <Properties>
                <Property name="WebDynproApplication" value="AllMyTrips"/>
                <Property name="WebDynproDeployableObject" value="sap.com/ess~tra"/>
                <Property name="newWindowFeatures" value="resizable=yes,scrollbars=yes,status=yes,toolbar=no,menubar=no,location=no,directories=no"/>
                <Property name="DynamicParameter" value="wi_id=${item.externalId}"/>
                <Property name="openInNewWindow" value="yes"/>
                <Property name="display_order_priority" value="5"/>
              </Properties>
              <Descriptions default=""/>
            </Action>
          </Actions>
        </ItemType>
    But in new window we are not able to see any portal navigation available.
    Is there any way that I can get this navigation panel in new window as well.

    You can call also pages using the IViewLauncher.
            <Action name="launchWebDynPro" groupAction="" handler="IViewLauncher" returnToDetailViewAllowed="yes" launchInNewWindow="yes" launchNewWindowFeatures="resizable=yes,scrollbars=yes,status=yes,toolbar=no,menubar=no,location=no,directories=no">
              <Properties>
                <Property name="iview" value="ROLES://portal_content/Fresenius/kabi_nl/Iviews/ESS/Zeitmanagement/com.fresenius.Abwesenheitsmitteilung"/>
                <Property name="newWindowFeatures" value="resizable=yes,scrollbars=yes,status=yes,toolbar=no,menubar=no,location=no,directories=no"/>
                <Property name="DynamicParameter" value="wi_id=${item.externalId}"/>
                <Property name="openInNewWindow" value="yes"/>
                <Property name="display_order_priority" value="5"/>
              </Properties>
    But why would you want to have the navigation too in a new window ?
    That would confuse me as a user to have 2 navigations in 2 windows.
    The problem with UWL in general (using a popup) is that after you are finished in the popup,
    the task is still there. I get lots of complaints; waiting for EhP3 or 7.3. There should be a instant refresh UWL feature.....

  • AF Table-CommandLink and Open in New Window issue

    I am using af:table to display the result set and inside the af:table i use af:commandLink to display the link to users. When the user clicks the individual link , user will go to the correponding detail page which is working fine.
    But the problem is if i right click the commandLink from the browser and click "Open in New Window" in IE or "Open Link in New Window" . it opens a new window and displays the same page instead the detail page.
    My requirement is when user click the link user should see the corresponding detail page - which is working fine now.
    But when user clicks open in new window from browser in the new window user should see the corresponding detail page. How do i accomplilsh this scenario.
    Any help would be highly apprciateable..

    Hi Frank, thanks for the quick reply. But if u think of the end user, most of user always right click and click open in new browser to see the details. so that they can stay the results page. ..
    Do you mean, any link navigation in ADF faces, dont work if we click "open in new window"?

  • To open in new window

    Can somebody help me to solve the below code issue - when user clicks on the "flash1.swf", I want to open in new window and play the media player?
    Right now below code plays at same place....
    =================================================================================
    <script language="JavaScript">
    function Player(whichone,cnt)
    var idisplay = document.getElementById(whichone);
    if (idisplay.style.display ==  "none")
      idisplay.style.display="block";
    else
      idisplay.style.display="none";
    </script>
    <a href="##" onclick="Player('Player1','temp1');" style="vertical-align:top;">flash1.swf</a>

    Hi there,
    how about you use the new cfwindow tag? heres what you can do, ceate a cfwindow then pass on your javascript variable, and display the code in there. Now, note that cfwindow takes full html syntax. For example, an <html> tag down to end </html>. Ill how you an example:
    <cfwindow name="example" title="here is my video" modal="yes" initshow="false">
    <html>
    <head>
         <script>
    </script>
                   <body>
         </body>
       </cfwindow>
    and now initialize your content in the cfwindow, and make it dynamic with whatever you wanna display using javascript. Get creative
    please let me know if that helped

  • HTMLB Link : opening in new window

    Hello,
    I have a custom worksetmap component (which extends AbstractPortalComponent).
    In one scenario it renders a list of sap systems, on click of which, opens a saplogonpad.
    Now the issue we are facing is that when user clicks on one such link, worksetmap component screen goes blank.
    We are using following way to set HTMLB link properties: -
    titleLink.setReference(<link to sap system>);
    Is there any way to open this in a new window so that worksetmap component stays on its current state?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Amey

    Hi Amey,
    you can use titleLink.onClick="EPCM.doNavigate(targetUrl....);"
    see this page to understand the navigation API.
    Navigation API - Running an Enterprise Portal - SAP Library
    in your case you should either use navigation mode 1 (new window),
    3 (new headerless window) or 10 (new headerless window standards mode).
    according to your previous statement I think you need navigation mode 1.

  • Why does my lightbox keep opening a new window?

    I'm currently finishing off my website and all I need to do that is make four images click into their own seperate light boxes.
    I number of my code savy friends cannot find anything wrong with my code.
    The problem is that when I click on the image online it opens a new window and to get back to the orginal page you have to go 'back'
    this clearly isn't what a lightbox should do, is there something in my code which is wrong and making it do this? Or can I add something.
    The 4 divs involved in this are named Rochelle, Jacob, Jared and Helena.

    Here's what I've changed:
    Added '<div id="gallery">' to your code before the lightbox gallery. If you read the Lines 9-13 of your HTML, your lightbox definition says that any 'a' links inside 'gallery' container will be lightbox enabled. In your actual gallery code, 'gallery' div was not present. Hence, Lightbox did not find any image links to load. Now, I've added the Div ID as Gallery. It works.
    Hope it helps.

  • Event triggered by iView Opening in New Window

    Hi Portal Developers,
    I'm trying to write an iView will exist as an invisible iView on the default framework page and listen for the event of an iView opening a new window. However, I can't find an event that distinguishes between an iView opening in a new window or an iView opening in the existing content area.
    For example, as a test to capture the event that is occurring, I have the following block of javascript that displays a message when a user navigates around in the Portal using some different Portal events.
    <script language ="JavaScript">
    EPCM.subscribeEvent("urn:com.sapportals:navigation", "*", onNewWindow);
    EPCM.subscribeEvent "urn:com.sapportals.portal:browser", "*", onNewWindow);
    function onNewWindow( eventObj) {
    "Got an Event from: " + eventObj.eventName);}
    </script>
    All this returns when a I click on an iView that opens in a new window is "Navigate", which is no different from when an iView is clicked that does not open in a new window. I've looked through the SAP-delivered javascript files and I've also done an HTTP Trace hoping to find exactly what is happening when an iView is launched in a new window.
    A trace I ran indicates that the js13_spcf.js file is called when an iView is launched in a new window. In this file, I see that there is a "mode" parameter that is passed to the "Navigate" event that I'm subscribing too. For the Open in New Window option, this seems to be set to a value of 2, which makes sense. Is there anyway I can read this "Mode" value of the event that is raised as I subscribe to the event from my iView? Any other suggestions are welcome as well!
    Thanks!
    Matt

    Hi Matt,
    For an iView opening in a new window to communicate with an iView on the default framework, a "bridge" needs to exist.
    That's where EPCMPROXY from epcfproxy.js comes into play.
    In the iView that is opening up in a new window, you can raise an event such as,
    var win_id = EPCMPROXY.getUniqueWindowId();
    EPCMPROXY.raiseEvent("urn:com.sapportals.portal:browser", "", "", win_id);
    Hope it helps,

  • Is there a way to open a new window from the "Go" menu in Mavericks?

    Is there a way to open a new window from the "Go" menu?
    First, as others have already stated.....make sure the checkbox is deselected for "open folders in tabs instead of windows" in Finder Preferences.
    If you're like me and don't like tabs very much, there is a way to make folders always open in windows with a simple click (I'm using Mavericks 10.9.5).  Go to a root folder (for example, the Documents Folder), open it, and select View > Hide Toolbar, then all folders within that root folder will open in a new window.
    As an alternative method, any folder can be opened in a new window by holding down either Command Key while clicking the folder. But sooner or later you will forget to hold down that key, and then clicking on a folder will open in a tab (which will automatically resize the window and cause much aggravation).
    The Hide Toolbar trick will also work with any folder present on the Desktop. It will make all folders inside that folder open in new windows.
    To make the Applications Folder open in a new window when opening it from the menu bar at the top of the screen, you will have to open the main hard drive folder and use the Hide Toolbar trick. This will cause all folders inside it to open in new windows.
    Hope this helps.
