Dynamic populating the items in the select boxes

Hi,
I need three select boxes on a webpage in such a way that the options in select box 2 should be populated only after selecting some item in "select box 1" and the options in the "select box 3" should be displayed by selecting the options in "the select box2". The data is being retrived from the database. I know that this functionality can be acheived through the "javascript". I am fine until getting the data from the database but not sure how to get it work using javascript.
I would appreciate if someone can post any snippet of code or give any suggesstions or pointer on how to proceed....
-coolers

probably should ask on a javascript forum then. This is for java.

  • "one or more of the items in your selection contains Aperture albums that are not supported in iphoto".

I have some folders in iPhoto called 'Recovered Folder'. When I try to delete them I get this message: "one or more of the items in your selection contains Aperture albums that are not supported in iphoto".
I don't use Aperture (did install it to try it out), and have deleted Aperture App from my Mac.
How can I get rid of these fodlers?

    i finally figured this out:
fyi, iphoto and aperture can now share (i.e., access) the same library. apple details it here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5260?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
i use both iphoto and aperture, and i suspect something went amiss, at some point, while aperture was accessing my iphoto library.
this is how i fixed the problem:
i launched aperture, then (per the instructions linked above) switched to (i.e., accessed) my iphoto library. i was then able to delete the "recovered folder" and the album it contained. i then quit aperture and relaunched iphoto.
NOTE: at that time, although i expected the "recovered folder" to be gone, it was still present. but this time, i was able to delete the folder from within iphoto without the "contains aperture items" error message.
(Sparky030405, i realize you've since deleted aperture. while i can't say my method is the *only* way to solve this problem, it's the way i was able to solve it. so, you might consider reinstalling aperture in order to delete the folder, then uninstalling aperture, once again.)

  • I can't seem to open (view) my photos.  I get an error message that says "the file couldn't be opened because you don't have permission to view it. To view or change permission, select the item in the finder and choose File. Get info."

I can't seem to open (view) my photos.  I get an error message that says "the file couldn't be opened because you don't have permission to view it. To view or change permission, select the item in the finder and choose File. Get info."  I have never had this happen before?  Thanks!

    Try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
    2 - Run Option #1, Repair Permissions.

  • "not enough free space to hold all of the items in the selected playlists"

My first generation nano is getting this error message when I connect to I-tunes: "not enough free space to hold all of the items in the selected playlists." I have over 46GB of music but have only selected a few playlists that are well under the 3.71 GB I have available, yet everytime I attempt to synch, I-tunes acts as if I am trying to sych all of my songs. I have restored settings, done a hard reset, downloaded & installed the latest version of i-tunes, installed windows updates, please help! I have no music on my ipod right now!

I had a similar problem caused by my iPod attempting to use a drive letter that was already in use. iTunes was displaying the capacity of that drive instead of the capacity of my iPod. I changed the drive letter for my iPod, and everything works like a charm now. Here are some links to get started.

  • Trackpad - single finger resting selects the item where the cursor sits

Recently without any upgrades or new software loaded, I now find that when I use single finger on the touchpad (without pressing - just touching) and if I hold my finger for more than two seconds and then remove, the item that the cursor was on is selected. This is just as if I was pressing the touchpad but only if my finger is held for more than the two seconds.
I have read on here to change the "point & click" options within system preferences/trackpad and then restarting, this appears to have fixed the same problem for everyone else but not for me. I have tried with tap and click on and off (currently off).
    Any ideas?
I am running a mac book air 11" mid 2012 with OS X Yosemite 10.10.2

Well, Apple did fix my trackpad. They think it had to do with capacitors underneath. And they replaced my keyboard at the same time, since the S and L keys were worn and they said that was under guarantee as well.
It was not an altogether pleasant experience though. Even though I was promised same day drop-it-off-pick-it-up service a really nasty "genius bar" person said it was impossible to do the same day and that the other person shouldn't have promised that and it was getting really ugly. I had to go into native-New-Yorker mode (which I hate doing) and said I wasn't leaving until they kept their promise.
Eventually they called a manager who made sure they would keep to their word and they ended up doing a very good job, even replacing my "marware" protective pad.
So all's well that ends well, and I got good service in the end. But I always strongly dislike having to "fight for service". It should just be something that is a matter of course with Apple.
I hope they get rid of that one particular genius bar person though. He is bad news.

  • IPod touch cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all of the items in the iTunes Library

Hi, I have just transferred my whole iTunes library from my old computer to my new one and am trying to sync my iPod to the new one. However I get an error message saying "iPod touch cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all of the items in the iTunes Library (additional 5.38GB required). I currently have 8.5GB free on my iPod so I don't understand why it cannot sync.

Hey Georgiarose94, If what's going on, is what I think it is, when you sync the information it's over written, it can take 2 to 3 times more space the get the info on your iPod, once it's there the info only occupies the space it needs. Kind if of like moving, when you first step in the room with boxes of stuff there's no room. But after you get everything put away all is well. If you haven't already, connect your iPod to your computer, from your iPod Summary page, go down to Options and check reduce bit rate to (select 128 kbps). (Wording maybe a little different). Will greatly reduce memory space needed on your iPod, and you really do not hear the difference in sound quality. Other option, go to music and select manual so you can pick which music you place on the iPod. You need to reduce by 5.38GB of information to finish your download. Hope this helps. Cheers.

  • Any way to change the order of the items in the Files Inspector? DW CS4

    Hi,
I'm using Dreamweaver CS4 with my menus split virtically.
Is there any way to change the order of the items in the Files Inspector?
Specifially I'd like to have them in this order:
    | Local/Remote Files | Modified | Size | Type |
The reason being that next to the 'Local Files' the 'Modified' column is most impotant for putting updated files/images, and in split vertical mode I have to scroll right to see the 'Modified' column.
    Is this a feature request?
    Rich

Is there any way to change the order of the items in the Files Inspector?
Yes, but it must be done on a site-by-site basis.
In the Site Definition dialog box, select File View Columns. You can control the position and display of columns there. The only one that can't be changed is Name.

Unable to open the photos in reviewer, every time I click on the photo on , it says do not have permission to view the photo. Please open the item in the finder choose the item and click on <get info>. What am I suppose to change in the setting on <get info>

    Back up all data.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR..; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_; chmod -R -N ~ $_; } 2>&-
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
You'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command may take a few minutes to run, or perhaps longer if you have literally millions of files in your home folder. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1, if it frightens you, or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password dialog will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
In the dialog, select the startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if it's not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if it's not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

  • Question I have a dilemma . I added a lot of songs in my iTunes now when I synced my ipod this message appear "Elma's ipod cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all the items in the iTunes library (additiona

I addesd a lot of songs in my itunes, now when I synced my ipod this message appear "elma's ipod cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all the items in the itunes library (additional 382m is required). Then I uncheck a lot of song and synced my ipod again same message appeared. Do I need to buy a new ipod with more memories? Somebody told me to check apply after I unchecked some of the songs but I cannot find the word APPLY. please help I'm not a very technical person.

The Sync button becomes the Apply button, if you change the iPod's settings in iTunes.  If you are only unchecking songs in the iTunes music library, you click on the Sync button.
When you select the iPod in iTunes, you see the iPod's Summary screen on the main part of the iTunes window.  There is a checkbox there for Sync only checked songs.  Did you check that checkbox?  If you want iTunes to ignore the songs you unchecked when syncing your iPod, that setting needs to be enabled.  If you change that setting, you'll see the the Sync botton has changed to Apply.  Click Apply.
That method of unchecking songs works, but it may become annoying over time, as you need to uncheck more and more songs.  If you want advice on some other more convenient ways to make it work, you can post back.

  • HT1296 Have a problem with syncing. I get this message: The ipod Bill's Ipod" cannot be synced because there is not enough space to hold all of the items in the iTunes library (additional 2.4GB required) I don't understand as I have much more space than 2

I recently ran into a problem with syncing my ipod touch to itunes on my Windows 7 pc. It had previously been synced to my older laptop
and I wanted to change to my newer Windows 7 laptop's itunes library that I had already been syncing with.
Anyway, I started seeing this message that prevents my from syncing:
The iPod "Bill's iPod" cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all of the items in the iTunes library
    (additional 2.48 GB required)
Not sure if it is talking about my iPod free space or my PC itunes library free space. Either way I have 11.0 GB free space available
on my iPod and 412 GB free space available on my Windows 7 PC.
How do I handle this problem?   Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Thanks

It is saying that the iPod does not have enough free storage to sync all the items yu have selected to sync to the iPod. You need 2.48 GB more free on the iPod. You need either to select less to sync or delete some content form the iPod.

  • Error Message with Itunes "Some of the items in the Itunes Library...

Itunes gives me the following message when I hook up my Ipod.
"Some of the items in the Itunes library were not copied to teh Ipod because they could not be found"
For some reason my Ipod gave me this message. I went through and recopied my songs from the file on my computer and deleted the duplicates that had issues. Everything works fine for awhile. Then I hook it up again and get the error message again. I am not sure what to do now. Any ideas? Thanks for any help you can give me.

I got this message regarding my iTunes purchases when I got a new computer. I had to go into the Store/Authorize Computer... menu selection in iTunes and provide my iTunes Store ID and password. Don't know if this applies to you, but it fixed my problem. Even if you aren't on a new computer you might want to give it a try.

  • In-list: does oracle follow the order of the items in the in-list?

We have a partition table, each partition has one day's data. And we are using 4 partitions, every day the oldest partition will be truncated so that it could be reused next day. Some data will be sit in more than 1 partitions, and we need to get the newest data. The current partition has a partition_key=MOD(TRUNC(SYSDATE) - TO_DATE('01-JAN-2005', 'DD-MON-YYYY') + 1, 4).
If oracle obeys the order of the items in the in-list, then the following sql should work and has the least cost. But I am not sure whether oracle run time engine will obey the order. I recalled Lewis had said run time engine might not follow the plan in the execution plan (explain plan).
    select *
      from tab
    where id=:id and partition_key in
           (MOD(TRUNC(SYSDATE) - TO_DATE('01-JAN-2005', 'DD-MON-YYYY') + 1, 4),
            MOD(TRUNC(SYSDATE) - TO_DATE('01-JAN-2005', 'DD-MON-YYYY') , 4),
            MOD(TRUNC(SYSDATE) - TO_DATE('01-JAN-2005', 'DD-MON-YYYY') -1, 4),
MOD(TRUNC(SYSDATE) - TO_DATE('01-JAN-2005', 'DD-MON-YYYY')-2, 4)) and rownum=1;If oracle doesn't follow the order in the in-list, does oracle follow the order of subquery in "union all", such as
    select * from
           select * from tab where where id=:id and partition_key =MOD(TRUNC(SYSDATE) - TO_DATE('01-JAN-2005', 'DD-MON-YYYY') + 1, 4)
              union all
           select * from tab where where id=:id and partition_key =MOD(TRUNC(SYSDATE) - TO_DATE('01-JAN-2005', 'DD-MON-YYYY') , 4)
              union all
           select * from tab where where id=:id and partition_key =MOD(TRUNC(SYSDATE) - TO_DATE('01-JAN-2005', 'DD-MON-YYYY') - 1, 4)
              union all
           select * from tab where where id=:id and partition_key =MOD(TRUNC(SYSDATE) - TO_DATE('01-JAN-2005', 'DD-MON-YYYY') - 2, 4)
    where rownum=1

Is there an Oracle version number on your database?
Is "Lewis" Jonathan Lewis? If so please post a link to his comment so we can read it and understand what you are referring to.
If your table is indeed partitioned then please post the DDL that created it ... not every column but at least the partition key
    and the partioning template.
Please also post your explain plan report generated from your DML statements by dbms_xplan.display.

    Hey thanks for the reply.
When the box pops up there is no option to search for the location. I just have to click ok.
Then when I go to the songs with problems in my iTunes library and try to play them they play fine.
It is only while syncing that iTunes for some reason is unable to locate the song.
