Dynamic record numbers being used in subsequent scripts
Here is my test scenario...
I make a purchase and my purchase is given a unique receipt number.
In a seperate script, I want to pull up this receipt number to test return and change functions.
What is the simplest way for me to do this?
I was hoping to take this receipt number and somehow apply it to a databank file which would be used in other scripts.
I'm sure there is a VB solution but are there other solutions?
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!!
boslax
Hi boslax,
You are correct that this is possible through VBA. However, there is another way that it can be accomplished through the use of e-Tester Jobs and Page Content Variables. It's a bit difficult to explain via email, but here's the idea...
Create a script in e-Tester that gets you to the point where the unique receipt number is created. Right-click on that page of the script and choose "Add Page Content Variable". You should then be able to "mouse-over" the receipt number. Once you mouse-over that value, you can click on it to "lock in" on that value. (Now, here's where this gets a bit tricky. If the value is not part of some unique element on the page, it may be difficult to trap just the receipt number. We'll have to add a regular expression that parses out just the number. This can be done by selecting the "Build Pattern" button next to DOM Property Regular Expression under the Manage Variables menu.)
Once you click on the value, select OK on Dialog Box. You can then give that variable a name. Click "OK" and save the script.
Record a new script now that goes out and searches for a receipt number. After the script has been recorded, we can overwrite the recorded receipt number with the Page Content Variable from the previous script. Find the Parameters node of the page where the receipt number is passed to. Right-click on the Parameter and choose "Selection Properties". The Recorded Value should now be showing. In the "Mapped to Variable" field, type in your Page Content Variable Name and enclose it within Curly Brackets...eg. {{Variable_Name}}
Click OK and save the script.
Last step :) Now you can create a job that appends the two scripts together. Go to File/Job/New Job. Then right-click on the job name and choose "Append Existing Script". You can then choose the two scripts that have been created. They will run one after another and it should do the search on the unique receipt number. If you have any problems, please let me know...

Audio Stream Recorder - Error: Audio device is already being used by another prog
I realized that Audio Stream Recorder is does not "work" through server list feature. So I am simply trying to use the manual method of adding URL's to the interface. However regardless of the type of stream, shoutcast, windows media or real audio, I receive the error "audio device is already being used by another program". Does anyone know how to fix this? I have closed my audio application etc to no avail. <RANT WARNING> I was very excited about using this application when I read about it. However an application that provides none of the stated features is not an application, its false advertising, since it clearly states on the box, help files and website this products "features". Anyway, it'ss very disappointing. Also, does anyone know what the supported steaming formats are, the help file say the application requires RealONE and Windows Media Player but does not mention audio stream formats? Thanks you in advance for any help.
I have the same issue. I updated to the latest software, to no avail. My first suspicion is that some Microsoft patch caused this, but I cannot verify this.
Apparently no one at Creative is very interested in this issue. -
When you download iTunes material, does iTunes record the IP used where it is being downloaded to? I am trying to track a lost/missing IPOD Touch and want to know if they have that data. It was left on a small street and someone has found it and has been hacking into my account by resetting my password. They took about 41+ dollars from my account. I am hoping the IP it was connecting with to download to it was tracked and that I can get that information to figure out where it is located.
No. From the second link below.

Dynamic Text in Pages using Numbers file as input
I was wondering if it is possible to have cells or text boxes in Pages that are dynamic and are filled
in automatically using a source cell from a linked Numbers file as the input.
I have proposals to write that always use a specific Numbers file to crunch the math, but I want
to present certain parts of the Numbers file in a formal written proposal and don't want to redo
everything by hand when I make small changes to the projects financials.
Thanks!!! So glad I switched!There is no feature allowing us to link two different documents.
You may try to achieve your goal creating the Text document in a Numbers sheet using text boxes.

Why is the template not being used when dynamic page called ?
Hi,
I have created a dynamic page and assigned a template to it. When I call the dynamic page using the 'show' procedure from a form, I do not see the template.
Why is the template not being used ? How can I get the template working when I call the dynamic page ?
I even tried to show the page from the dynamic page's manage components tab and there is same problem. Template is not being used.
thanks,
MainakYou can alter the generated package body to include the following function in the header and footer sections.
Header:
PORTAL.wwv_headings.show_header(
p_template => 'PUBLIC.TEMPLATE_3',
p_heading => 'Dynamic Page',
p_help_link => 'PORTAL_DEMO.EXAMPLE_DYNAMIC_PAGE.help',
p_about_link => 'PORTAL_DEMO.EXAMPLE_DYNAMIC_PAGE.about');
Footer:
PORTAL.wwv_headings.show_footer(
p_template => 'PUBLIC.TEMPLATE_3',
p_help_link => 'PORTAL_DEMO.EXAMPLE_DYNAMIC_PAGE.help');
where
<PORTAL_DEMO> indicates application schema
<PORTAL> indicates the name of the portal (normally this will be portal30 by default). -
How to create two level dynamic list using JSP , Java Script and Oracle
I am new in JSP. And i am facing problem in creating two level dynamic list using JSP ,Java Script where the listdata will come from Oracle 10g express edition database. Is there any easy way in JSP that is available on in ASP.NET.
Plz response with details.1) Learn JDBC API [http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/jdbc/index.html].
2) Create DAO class which contains JDBC code and do all SQL queries and returns or takes ID's or DTO objects.
3) Learn Servlet API [http://java.sun.com/javaee/5/docs/tutorial/doc/].
4) Create Servlet class which calls the DAO class, gets the list of DTO's as result, puts it as a request attribute and forwards the request to a JSP page.
5) Learn JSP and JSTL [http://java.sun.com/javaee/5/docs/tutorial/doc/]. Also learn HTML if you even don't know it.
6) Create JSP page which uses the JSTL c:forEach tag to access the list of DTO's and iterate over it and prints a HTML list out.
You don't need Javascript for this. -
Pages and Numbers quit unexpectedly while being used loosing all completed work.
What can I do to "repair" both the Pages and Numbers software. They both quit unexpectedly while being used resulting in a loss of all completed work. I have tried re-purchasing the software; but can't since it is already installed. I have tried updates; but none exist. Any suggestions as to how to get these programs to work like they used to????

Thanks and Regards, Rangnath MaliHi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to use JavaScript to work with SharePoint list.
To create list items, we can create a ListItemCreationInformation object, set its properties, and pass it as parameter to the addItem(parameters) function
of the List object.
To set list item properties, we can use a column indexer to make an assignment, and call the update() function so that changes will take effect when you callexecuteQueryAsync(succeededCallback,
failedCallback).
And to delete a list item, call the deleteObject() function on the object.
There is an MSDN article about the details steps of this topic, you can have a look at it.
How to: Create, Update, and Delete List Items Using JavaScript

Recording using a written script
Before I produce my training material I write a script that contains what I am going to say. I then record the materials and read the script at the same time. However, so far I have found this approach a little awkward because my script is on paper and I keep having to turn from paper based script to my screen.
I have been considering recording the audio component of my training material first (using the script) and then play it back to myself while recording the visual component. Although this seems like a better solution I still have one issue. As I read the script I run through it using the product I am delivering the training for. This allows me to get the timings sorted. But when I am swapping from a paper based script to the PC things can get a little muddled.
Any suggestions for a better way of producing these recordings?
JohnHi John
Normally we find the best approach to be the way Hollywood movies work. You record the main action without audio. Certainly you might speak it out as you move through it in order to get the timing close. Then add the audio later. Captivate has the ability to present the Script (entered as notes on the slide) on screen along with the action as you record. This method breaks apart the action that is recorded first so you can focus just on the action, then you shift focus and work on narration.
Recording both at the same time is difficult at best. I've been creating some training videos recently using Camtasia and using that approach. It's cumbersome and there are LOTS of re-records as I fumble, mumble and stumble repeatedly over words while recording.
Hope this helps... Rick

Dynamic record group not working when apostrophes are used
Hi Everyone,
I have developed a Form for the most part everything is working as expected. However, there is a search functionality that is giving me problems. The issue is that when the user enters search criteria for last_name that has an apostrophe (O'brian) the search lov doesn't get populated because the dynamic record group is not getting created when the string has an apostrophe (ie O'brian). I have a dynamic record group that takes the user's search criteria and populates an LOV on the screen with the records that matched their criteria.
Here is the code that is behind my search button where the dynamic RG gets created. It works fine for all searches that don't contain an apostrophe. Btw, the Oracle Forms version is 10g.
DECLARE
p_where_debtor varchar2(2000);
p_where_liab varchar2(2000);
rg_id RecordGroup;

IF id_null(rg_id) THEN

IF NOT id_null (rg_id) THEN
delete_group (rg_id);
rg_id:= create_group_from_query(rg_name, v_query);

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Getting error -10011 in filemaker when using AS in script step
Hi,
I hope someone can help. I have had this script working before but am just making the transition from FM 6 to 7 and have to update the scripts.
I am gathering info using FM script steps and AS scripts from the backdoor of iTunes. When I create a new record i am getting "Data being accessed by another user,script or transaction". (-10011) several times when i attempt to pass the info back into the record in the FM database. I get the error as i attempt to write the data i want back into the current FM db record. Here below is one field being written back and it generates this error once. Other subsequent scripts for other fields generate the same error. I am using this AS at that point:
tell application "FileMaker Pro"
set the_source to item 1 of (field "Source_number" of database "CD database" as list)
end tell
if the_source ≠ 0 then
tell application "iTunes"
set return_value to 1
set disk_name to name of audio CD playlist 1 of source (the_source as number) -- assumes is the first CD
set disk_name to my ConvertOwnerToString(disk_name)
set junk to class of disk_name
if (disk_name is "") or (disk_name is "Untitled Audio Disc") then
-- connect
set disk_name to get title
end if
end tell
tell application "FileMaker Pro"
set cell "Title" of current record of window 1 of database "CD database" to (disk_name) as text
end tell
end if
The error happens at the "set cell" line 3 up from the bottom.
When i invoke this routine separately i do not get any errors and it works fine !!
Any ideas ? No other users logged on, no other apps use this file.
Thanks

so any advice for these issue ? and what is the effect for these error .
below is the error I got .

due to the Microsoft article about the cu :
I run only :

Note In a coexistence environment that contains both Lync Server 2010 and Lync Server 2013 and in which the Central Management Service is located on a Lync Server 2010 pool, do not run the
Install-CsDatabase -CentralManagementDatabase command. If you later move the Central Management Service to a Lync Server 2013 pool, you have to run the
Install-CsDatabase -CentralManagementDatabase command to apply the changes.

[HELP] How to records user who use SQLPlus or SQL editor?
Dear Gurus,
Is onyone know how to record user who use SQLplus or any SQL editor?
for instance...
user1 using SQLplus on monday august 9.30.21 PM...and I have table which record this for audit user.
Or..
Can I block user who connect to oracle using SQLPlus?
If anyone know how to do this..please inform me...
Thanks and Regards
ErieYou can enable Auditing (AUDIT_TRAIL) and audit at the Session Level to record Logon and Log off of a required user. This can be enabled to be recorded in the audit table or operation system file. You can also audit user statements etc.
For example, to enable auditing connect for user UGONIC
SQL>audit connect by UGONIC;
TO disable it
SQL>noaudit connect by UGONIC;
Check in the SQL Reference for the AUDIT statement and requirements.
If you do not want the user to connect at all via SQL*Plus, you can use PRODUCT_USER_PROFILE to disable a users access to SQL*Plus or at the lower level, disable specified SQL*Plus and SQL commands for the user. You need to run the PUPBLD.SQL script as system user (if not run yet) and add records to it as required.
Example: After running PUPBLD.SQL. This entry stops the user UGONIC from using the drop command at the backend in SQL*Plus.
INSERT into product_user_profile (product,userid,attribute,char_value,date_value)
values('SQL*Plus','UGONIC','DROP','DISABLED',NULL);
Note that if a user is already connected by the profile entry, it is not activated on that session, but on subsequent logons. Again read the requied security documentations for this.
For both auditing, you need to set the required database intialisation parameters and know where to get the audit records (in tables, views or OS file). For instance, when using tables, you maintain and query tables like audit$ to view the logs. When using OS type logging, it is recorded on the path specified in the AUDIT_FILE_DEST init parameter (In Windows, it is logged in the Windows Event and you can view it from the event viewer). -
Multiple recording of waveforms using an external trigger signal
Dear all,
Maybe somebody could help me with the following:
System:
Windows 2000,Pentium III,~800-900MHz,32-bit master PCI bus,256 MB RAM
PCI-NI 5122 Digitizer
PCI-GPIB card
PCI-DAQ card
Labview 7.1
NI Scope 2.7
Problem:
I want to acquire multiple waveforms (e.g. 100) using an external TTL trigger signal of ~40Hz. I have to acquire 1 waveform per trigger signal i.e. 100 subsequent trigger signals will acquire 100 subsequent waveforms.
After, or during the waveform acquisition (?), I have to transfer the waveforms as 100 1D-arrays from the onboard memory of the digitizer through my fitting routine (one-by-one!). The fitting routine accepts one waveform (1D-array) at the time, fits the waveform and calculates 1 fit-value per waveform. So, when I pass the acquired 100 waveforms subsequently through the fitting routine, I need to get out a 1D-array with 100 fit-values. This 1D-array with the 100 fit values will be further processed and a final value will be saved.
This procedure will repeat itself at different points in a sequence structure. The sequence structure will be located in a loop and running for several hours!
Please see attached program flow diagram.
Qustions:
1. When I want to acquire 100 waveforms using 100 subsequent trigger pulses, the attached VI (Multiple_record VI) gives me the following error message:

A previous acquisition is still in progress. If you are attempting to change an attribute, note you can only change fetch attributes while an acquisition is still in progress.
Status Code: -1074118647
What am I doing wrong? Is there a better and more efficient way to do this?
2. How can I transfer the 100 waveforms from the digitizer, one-by-one as 1D-arrays, through my fitting routine? A waveform will have ~2000-3000 data pts. (DBL type). Remember: I DO NOT HAVE TO SAVE THE WAVEFORMS!
3. Which way is faster, and more efficient (memory) for my PC system to transfer the waveforms from the onboard memory of the digitizer to the fitting routine?:
a) Start transfer of already acquired waveforms (1D-arrays), one-by-one through the fitting routine, during the waveform acquisition process is still in progress?
b) First, acquire the 100 waveforms (1D-arrays), store them in the onboard memory (digitizer) and then transfer them one-by-one through the fitting routine?
4. How can I make sure that after the waveforms were transferred through the fitting routine, the onboard memory of the digitizer is EMPTY (clear waveforms which have already been fetched) and ready to repeat the waveform acquisition at a different point of the sequence structure?
5. I do not want to display each acquired waveform because I think it will slow down the acquisition process. Instead, I want to display the last of the acquired 100 waveforms, so I can check my fit and maybe adjust the fit-parameters. How can I do that?
I think the important thing is to perform this process in the fastest way possible with the best use of the PC resources (memory etc.) because this process will run for hours. Any suggestions?
It would be very nice if somebody could give me some help with this.
Kind regards,
beam

program flow diagram.vi 11 KBThe method you use to analyze your data is fine. The only thing I would watch out for is memory problems. If you keep with the numbers you gave earlier, 100 waveforms at 3000 pts/wfm, you will be transferring 2.4MBytes of data per set. This is way over the 1MByte buffer NI-SCOPE uses for data transfer. It will work, but it might be slow. If you have problems, switch to niScope Fetch WDT.vi for your acquisition and move it inside the loop. Before you call the fetch VI, set the record it will fetch by using the property node and setting Fetch->Fetch Record Number using your loop index.
A couple of other performance tips I think you probably know. The graph inside the loop will slow you down a lot. In addition, the graph of all the data outside the loop will also take a fair amount of time (plotting 2.4MBytes of data). If you want to see just the last waveform, pop-up on the terminal going out of the loop and disable indexing so only the last waveform goes through, not all of them.
Your analysis method should work fine. You may consider doing an I16 fetch instead of the WDT fetch you are currently using. This will reduce your memory usage by a factor of four, provided you don't immediately convert it to a double array. If your analysis is actually finding a max/min, this is faster on an integer array than a double. You can scale the integers using the numbers in the information cluster. It is much faster to scale one integer at the end than a whole array. That said, the I16 fetch is not particularly faster than the WDT fetch, just less memory. This choice will depend on your analysis.
The min record length is the minimum number of points the device will acquire. The actual record length is different if the acquisition rate you ask for is not one of the acquisition rates the device is capable of. The acquisition rate is then coerced to the next highest rate and the record length increased so your acquisition time remains constant. This behavior is part of the IVI specification for digitizers. Using your VI as an example, you ask for 300kS/s acquisition rate and 800 data points. What you actually get is 300,300.3003 S/s and 801 data points. The sample rate is determined by an integer divisor from 100MHz, in this case 100,000,000/333. So, if you really want a certain number of data points, you need to set the sample rate to a physically realizeable one. Alternately, you can just fetch the number you want instead of all the points, realizing your sample window will be a bit shorter than you asked for.
You are correct. To see anything in the records done, you need to delay. However, in this code, the records done output is really not doing anything. The fetch won't fetch until everything is done, so you know all is finished when your data shows up. I would just delete it. If you do want to put a delay in, wrap a sequence structure around the records done query. Add a frame before the current frame and drop a Wait (ms)delay into it. You can find this primitive in the timing and dialog palette. This is an example of when the sequence is actually useful. The delay VI has no good way of enforcing data flow, so the sequence does it.
The way you have implemented it, you don't need to poll acquisition status. To get acquisition status, use niScope Acquisition Status.vi. You would put this in a WHILE loop before your acquire and exit the WHILE loop when the acquisition was done (or an error occurred) to proceed to the acquisition. Make sure you also put an appropriate delay in the WHILE loop or it will eat your entire processor capacity. The delay should be based on how long you expect the acquisition to take.
You should definitely put your fetch code in a subVI if you are going to call it more than once. LabVIEW makes it easy. Select the code you need to make into a subVI, then select Edit->Create SubVI. Don't forget to put an icon and documentation in the subVI. You will thank yourself later.

Good day,
I searched through the forum and cant find anything.
I have around 300 published reports on SSRS and we are busy migrating to a new system.
They have already setup their tables on the new system and I need to provide them with a list of table names and column names that are being used currently to generate the 300 reports on SSRS.
We use various tables and databases to generate these reports, and will take me forever to go through each query to get this info.
Is it at all possible to write a query in SQL 2008 that will give me all the table names and columns being used?
Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
I thank you.
Andre.There's no straightforward method for that I guess. There are couple of things you can use to get these details
1. query the ReportServer.dbo.Catalog table
for getting details
you may use script below for that
http://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/scriptcenter/42440a6b-c5b1-4acc-9632-d608d1c40a5c
2. Another method is to run the reports and run sql profiler trace on background to retrieve queries used.
But in some of these cases the report might be using a procedure and you will get only procedure. Then its upto you to get the other details from procedure like tables used, columns etc
