Dynamic Spellcheck formatting

Hi,
I'm working in an Institute for visually impaired children and one of our staffmember is also lightly visually impaired.
When I activate the dynamic spellchecker, the "wrong" words appears underlined by a thin red line.
Is it possible to change the matter how Indesign indicate the misspelled words?
The best would be a fat red line or to show the words with an coloured background.

I wouldn't hold my breath for the next update. The usual update cycle is about 18 months to 2 years which menas development on CS5 is pretty far along, and I would suspect most new features are included in development early on, with later work concentrating on polishing and tryiong to locate and fix bugs so people like us have less to complain about.
That said, I think accessibility is a pretty hot-button topic and you probablyhave a good shot at seeing imrovement for CS6.

I htink the page format is set at the time of creating the page itself.
YOu cannot change it depending on the condition.

Dynamic character format in SMARTFORMS

Dear Gurus,
I want to make a dynamic character format in smartforms. I did it in SAPscript and success.
what I did in program before passing to smartform :
d_note = '<XX> dynamic text </>'
and pass it to SAPscript and smartforms :
&d_note&
in SAPscript I made new character format XX as BOLD and UNDERLINED. it works for SAPscript. the output become = dynamic txt
unfortunately when I do this in smartforms, it is a fail although I have set new character format XX as bold and underline in smartstyles. the output become = <XX> dynamic text </>
any guru has a solution for this smartform?

Hi Sendy,
You cant use tags (eg- <XX>) in smartfomrs like you did in sap scripts. Use your style in the smartform( form attributes) with all character formats and paragraph formats which you need. When you create a new text module in the smartform you will get two drop down lists for the paragraph formats and character formats in the top of the editor. Type your text there and highlight then choose 'XX'(or any other character format) character format from the drop down list.

Dynamic layout formatting in Oracle BI Publisher reports

We are creating a planning report in BI Publisher, where in we have a requirement of dynamic formatting based on the month we are running the report. In the report we have different months as columns which displays the values for different KPIs (displayed in the rows).. Now, we need the current month data be highlighted down the column for all KPIs. This means that if it is April, April would be highlighted for all KPIs. Next month when we are currently in May, April would no longer be highlighted and May would be highlighted for all KPIs.. How can we achieve this via BI Publisher? Any help regarding this is really appreciated.

When we are runnng BI Publisher reports, in the output of reports all the time if any Hypahan symbol comes then it automatically converting into question mark.You got hit this when you are printing?

Smartform Dynamic Ppage Format

Hi All,
I need answers to the following questions.
1.I have a smartform for which the page format is Letter, while printing the form depending on some conditions I want to print the form on A4 paper.How can I dynamically change the Page Format, i have developed the layout such that when I take a printout, the default is letter when i change the spool attributes in sp01 to A4 it print correctly on A4, however i would like to change the page format dynamically and through my program, is there any way to change the spool attributes through the smartform driver program.
2. When pages in the smartform exceed 10 then instead of 10 of 10 it is displaying the page numbers as 10 of *.
Please help me with these issues.

For point 1, yes you need to create 2 Smartforms for handling different page sizes.
This code is working fine for me.

Dynamic spellcheck doesn't work, autocorrect and normal spellcheck do work.

my dynamic spelling doesnt work, i use windows 7 and indesign cs6.
My normal spellcheck (the word per word one) does work, my dictionary works, everything works exept dynamic spelling, pls help.
I have chosen the correct disctionary and my text is set in the right disctionary also (at the characters tap).

Just to be sure: You know that dynamic spell check works only by underlining word with different colours? And that those underlines can only be seen in preview mode?

Dynamic date formatting

Is there a function module or some other method (in 4.6C) that can write a date in a format supplied dynamically? I searched in SE37 but I don't find what I'm looking for and most of them aren't documented
I know of the addition to the write command, but it seems there you have to hardcode them - it's not what I'm looking for.

or output we convert date format.
and also using SET DATE MASK u can convert date format .
after display that .
if use full reward points.

Dynamic List Formatting

I have a list of around 1800 dates (some are duplicates)
stored in an access query. I want to include them in a dynamic list

When run (on my testing server) the dates (correctly ordered

Because Microsoft products, by default, assume you're in the
US?
You need to set a Location ID (LCID) (2057 for UK, which
should give you
the date formatting you want):

Hello Gurus
Is it possible to dynamically change the paper format of a form based on a parameter pass through the interface?
(FormCalc)
I need to create a form that will be used by the North-America countries (Letter format) and by European countries (A4 format).
1. The paper format should/could be selected by a variable pass through the interface.
     How to change the paper format based on the variable?
2. Top, bottom, left and right margin should be adjusted based on the same variable.
     How to change the margins (top, bottom, left, right) based on the variable?
3. How to adjust the page footer to be at the bottom of the page regardless of the paper format?

Dynamic Documents Format cells

Hi everyone,
I created a Dynamic Document and I had insert a table in it.
Now I want to format some column headers. I want that some of them have Left Alignment and others Center Alignment.
Is it possible to format only the header columns and not the table rows?
The only way that I know to do align format is using the method SET_COLUMN_STYLE but with this I format the entire column and that's not what I want.

or you can also just add plain html code which can handle that

Here is the code which can help you get the dynamic box's from the script.
Here the element is TAB.
There is a loop for this element in the driver program.
Here the code works this way the YORIGIN is incremented by 0.6CM each time it is in the loop thus drawing tables dynamically.

Dynamic date format in a VO

Hi All
Jdev 11.1.1.6.0.
I have a query based VO with an attribute named date range which is a concatenation of two dates (SELECT DATE1||' - '||DATE2 as date_range
FROM xyz)
date_range is a display only field in UI.
I want to apply different date formats(individually on DATE1/DATE2 and then show the concatenation) based on the user logged on.
Is there a way I could achieve this at VO level itself because at UI level it doesn't look feasible to apply a af:convertDateTime pattern ="<mydatepattern">
If it could be done at UI level also, I'll appreciate pointers.

Read dynamic file format

I have a requirement wherein , the source is in the form of .txt files containing data.As per the definition, it is fixed-width file.
The first field in the data is 'Type'.Based on the value in this field,the file format has to be defined.
Please help on how to implement this.

We understand that based on the Column value of "Type" the rest of the file columns will vary. Now my question to you is "does all the files have the same number of columns(total count of columns in the file) or will they vary???".

Displaying the % sign (dynamically - conditional formatting?)

I have a report that consists of 2 columns:
First column (A) is a STRING data type, second column (B) is a NUMBER data type.
Based on the value in column A, I want to be able to choose whether or not to display the % sign in column B.
I am using CR XI.
It is important that the column B remain a NUMBER field since the report will be exported to Excel and my users want numbers and not TEXT.
I have been able to play with the fconditional ormatting to get diferent decimal places to show up, but have been unable to get a % sign to display.
Basically - I want to say something like:
If column A = "something", format columnB with a % sign.

Or, you can right-click the second field and select Format Field, go to the Common tab, and click on the X+2 icon next to Display String. In this formula write something like (basic syntax):
formula = cstr({b}) + iif({a}="Percent", "%", "")
This formula needs to return a string value that is exactly what you want displayed for the field. In the formula above, if field A is "Percent", the formula appends a percent sign...

Dynamic text formatting

Hi ... I have recently been using dynamic text quite
frequently, but it bothers me that browser user settings can
override the font I have specified in the Flash doc. How do I force
a Helvetica all the way through?
I have tried to surch the forum for solutions, but no
satisfactory answers. It is the intention that my client can edit
the text in MS Word.

Embed the font and embed the characters. Its not the browser
forcing a different font, but it is a system that doesn't have
helvetica (like most windows machines) that will need to map to a
system default font.
