Dynamic spelling in IDCS3 - some docs come in all red-lined

Hi there. I just had this issue pop up recently, now it is popping up in several docs I'm importing for a publication. I import the docs and they come in completely all red-lined as if every word is spelled wrong.
When it happened on a previous doc, it was a short letter and I just went in and manually took out the space between each word and put in a new space and that solved it.
Even that is not working this time.
Most of these docs are .docx but not all. It seems to be happening on all of them this time. I did put on the .docx converter recently, probably since the last time I encountered this.
I'm trying to see if there is a specific way I need to import the files? Do I need to resave them in a different Word setting? I tried several and the only one that worked was .txt but that definitely removes all formatting.
If anyone has encountered and resolved this mystery, I'd love to know the answer. Surely there are others out there who have encountered it also.

Where do you see that definition? Your prefs don't count.

Adobe PDF plugin 10.1.5.33 does not print correctly. Some text comes out all garbled but looks fine on screen.

I am using Adobe PDF plugin 10.1.5.33. I can open PDF files and they look fine. When I print some of the test comes out all garbled - usually labels, notes at bottom etc. If I disable plugin then when I open PDF Firefox uses Adobe PDF reader to open file and then printing is fine. I have Adobe reader 10.1.5

I am seeing the same issue with Reader 11.0.1.36. Without the Adobe plugin enabled, no issue. Probably related to the type of font being used for the garbled text. There are many font bugs related to various fonts and various Adobe programs filed at Bugzilla. Looks like Adobe has some fixing to do with their Firefox / Netscape plugin.

Printing doesn't work for some docs (CUPS 1.4, Samsung ML-2010, Splix)

I installed my Samsung ML-2010R some days ago. CUPS version is 1.4.2-1. Splix is 2.0.0-1.
After blacklisting lpusb installation worked fine. Also printing a testpage worked. Printing works for some documents, but there are some which won't (all were pdfs, but I mainly tested .pdfs). The document is sent to the printer (or at least it looks so), but nothing happens (sometimes the printer makes a short noise). When I go to http://localhost:631/printers/ it says "Frei - "Processing page 11..."" (while "frei" being German for "free", don't know, perhaps the corresponding status in English is idle). The page number changes depending on the document (but it is always the same page if I try to print the same document more times).
In the log-files I don't find anything useful (at least for me). Here is what I get, if I try to print one of these documents:

Perhaps you could help me with further debugging. I'll try the proprietary Samsung driver in the meantime.

EDIT: This didn't actually seem to fix the problem. :'(
Good news! I think the outstanding developers of Debian have a patch for our bug.
It involves recompiling CUPS, which in Arch means making new packages for "cups" and "libcups". I used the package build information for CUPS from ABS and created a new PKGBUILD. Here it is for reference:

This makes new versions of the packages "cups" and "libcups". I installed them and my printer is behaving very well. The Debian/Ubuntu developers work miracles.
If you could try it, to see if it fixes your printer problems too, that would be great.
Here is where I got the patches from. http://patch-tracker.debian.org/package/cups/1.4.2-4 I applied almost all of them. I excluded the "drop unnecessary dependencies" patch because it brought compiler errors with the default Arch CUPS PKGBUILD, and also excluded the "man page" and "manual" patches. I think the only patch you and I actually need is the "usb-backend-both-usblp-and-libusb" patch, but I'm not really in the mood to try applying only that one, since it seems to be working fine now. I decided to ignore applying the Ubuntu CUPS patches, because they mostly seem to be simply patches to the way CUPS is installed. Anyway, I hope these patches are moved upstream soon!
If we have good results from this PKGBUILD, I think I will upload it to AUR. It will be my first AUR package.

what is BAPI?
BAPI stands for Business API(Application Program Interface).
A BAPI is remotely enabled function module ie it can be invoked from remote programs like standalone JAVA programs, web interface etc..
You can make your function module remotely enabled in attributes of Function module but
A BAPI are standard SAP function modules provided by SAP for remote access. Also they are part of Businees Objest Repository(BOR).
BAPI are RFC enabled function modules. the difference between RFc and BAPI are business objects. You create business objects and those are then registered in your BOR (Business Object Repository) which can be accessed outside the SAP system by using some other applications (Non-SAP) such as VB or JAVA. in this case u only specify the business object and its method from external system in BAPI there is no direct system call. while RFC are direct system call Some BAPIs provide basic functions and can be used for most SAP business object types. These BAPIs should be implemented the same for all business object types. Standardized BAPIs are easier to use and prevent users having to deal with a number of different BAPIs. Whenever possible, a standardized BAPI must be used in preference to an individual BAPI.
The following standardized BAPIs are provided:
Reading instances of SAP business objects
GetList ( ) With the BAPI GetList you can select a range of object key values, for example, company codes and material numbers.
The BAPI GetList() is a class method.
GetDetail() With the BAPI GetDetail() the details of an instance of a business object type are retrieved and returned to the calling program. The instance is identified via its key. The BAPI GetDetail() is an instance method. BAPIs that can create, change or delete instances of a business object type
The following BAPIs of the same object type have to be programmed so that they can be called several times within one transaction. For example, if, after sales order 1 has been created, a second sales order 2 is created in the same transaction, the second BAPI call must not affect the consistency of the sales order 2. After completing the transaction with a COMMIT WORK, both the orders are saved consistently in the database.
Create( ) and CreateFromData! ( )
The BAPIs Create() and CreateFromData() create an instance of an SAP business object type, for example, a purchase order. These BAPIs are class methods.
Change( )
The BAPI Change() changes an existing instance of an SAP business object type, for example, a purchase order. The BAPI Change () is an instance method.
Delete( ) and Undelete( ) The BAPI Delete() deletes an instance of an SAP business object type from the database or sets a deletion flag.
The BAPI Undelete() removes a deletion flag. These BAPIs are instance methods.
Cancel ( ) Unlike the BAPI Delete(), the BAPI Cancel() cancels an instance of a business object type. The instance to be cancelled remains in the database and an additional instance is created and this is the one that is actually canceled. The Cancel() BAPI is an instance method.
Add<subobject> ( ) and Remove<subobject> ( ) The BAPI Add<subobject> adds a subobject to an existing object inst! ance and the BAPI and Remove<subobject> removes a subobject from an object instance. These BAPIs are instance methods.

The steps to be followed are :
1. Find out the relevant BAPI (BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE for VA02).
[for VA01 use BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2]
2. Create a Z program and call the BAPi (same as a Funtion module call).
2. Now, if you see this BAPi, it has

1. Minimum entry:

Bapi to VB(Visual Basic)
Long back I had used the following flow structure to acheive the same.
Report -> SM59 RFC destination -> COM4ABAP -> VB.exe
my report uses the rfc destination to create a COM session with com4abap. com4abap calls the vb.exe and manages the flow of data between sap and vb exe.
You need to have com4abap.exe
If com4abap is installed you will find it in sapgui installatin directory , C:\Program Files\SAPpc\sapgui\RFCSDK\com4abap.
else refer OSS note 419822 for installation of com4abap
after making the settings in com4abap to point to the vb program and setting up rfc destination in sm59 to point to com4abap session , you can use the following function modules to call the vb code.
for setting up com4abap and rfc destination please refer to the documentation for com4abap.

Why is dynamic spelling (or check spelling) not working on a particular document?

I have a coupe documents where neither Dynamic Spelling or Spell Check are working. Both are documents where those tools have been used before successfully. These are files that have been shared via Dropbox for editing. There are however other files that have been shared and edited the same way, with the same team, where both Dynamic Spelling and Spell Check continue to work.
Documents are InDesign CS6.
I have tried moving files to my desktop as well as saving a copy, neither of which worked.
Last resort would be to make a whole new file and copy/past over all the content, but obviously I'm trying to avoid that if there is an easier solution.
Any thoughts would be helpful.

Ended up having the same issue in a CC version document. A combination of fixing the Language setting on character styles and editing Preferences, Dictionary, Spelling and also Hyphenation to Hunspell did the trick.
It should be noted that both of these problem files were ones that were being shared and edited by two people via dropbox. I'm guessing that the preferences are not set correctly within InDesign by the other user, thus resulting in what you noted above as a change in the language associated with the file. A cautionary tale for anyone working with a client who may be doing some content editing on a shared file, as it seems settings overwrite.

Dynamic spelling not working

ive got dynamic spelling turned on,So on one document its working,but on another it aint.
so on the document thats its not working i deliberately make mistakes incase the words gets undermarked with red lines but nothing is working.
what can i do?

Trash the prefs first: Replace Your Preferences.You may not need to reinstall.
I asked about the language because that's a character level attribute -- select some text and look in the character panel or the control panel for the language assigned -- and that determines what dictionary is used. If the language is set to no language there will be no spell checking.

i have a story about my sister, am talking on her behalf, she got stolen her phone at a caffee when she just come from a horeble exam, she was very mad and having haedace for not doing well at the exam, i ask her if we could have coffee before we go home, once she sate; while i was getting the coffee for her, some one snicked to her pocket and took the phone, immidatly she feelt it and went on to searching, but nathing was hopefull. what makes it more heart braking is that she worked day and night just to buy the phone and pay for her books and so on as a student. she use to work 16 houres a day before she had to start school. 8 houres in one place and then to the other place. and she was always demanding for more houres to work; one day her boss saw her on her other job and she was serprised to see her and saied OHhh my God Milly if you work like this, i wonder if you servive, how could you also ask for more houres, My sis had to do it she has no parents or any thing, well the phone was taken after only two months of having it. the sad thing is she stile dream having it even though she can't think of buying againe. well me i have tryed a lot of things but i know some were out there there is a solution for people like this, it is not always fare for some one who has payed up to 800 to just loose his ......

I'm sorry, but your sister, unless she had already turned on the "Find my iPhone" feature and the person who took the phone has not disabled it, is out of luck. She should report the theft to local police authorities, including the serial number of her iPhone. While her experience is unfortunate, there are good reasons why Apple cannot do anything else about it.
I hope she gets her phone back.

Forwarding email to .mac problems, some emails come through, not others

i have a forward set up through my hosting to send emails from my 'old' email address to my .mac account. some emails come through, but in tests through mail.app, some do not. the forwarded email accounts seem to get to me 30 minutes after i send them, or not at all.
any ideas? i thought it could be a spam filtering thing, or that apple is blocking something? but it just seems inconsistent, as i've received a few emails, but others i sent from the same accounts are not showing up.

Firefox doesn't do email, it's strictly a web browser.
If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail". You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.
