Dynamic Texts from Bex ( for Key Figures ) not coming to WEBI Query

Hi Gurus,
We have a Query in BEx : Each Key figure column text changes dynamically - Like based on Present month
it will Display Month +1 Month +2 up to Month +12. Used dynamic Text variables .
But when i created the universe and Webi report , i am missing the text in the column for Key figures .
How should i get the column text in Webi which is same as in Bex : Points will be awarded for helpful
answers.

Hi,
text variables with replacement path are supported in BO4.0, see following document: SAP BusinessObjects BI4 - Supported BEx Query Elements
As an example after entering 2012 in the prompts window, the name of the corresponding key figure will dynamically change:
After refreshing and selecting 2013, the column name will update:
Im not sure though if this is the case with unv universe access to BEx queries.

Issue with Bex report - key Figures not populating correctly.

Hi Experts,
I am facing an issue with a Bex report. There are three key figures of data type DATE having "Dec - Counter or amount field with comma and sign" datatype. After executing the query, in the report, for some sales documents the key figure fields are coming as 'X' and rest others are coming correctly in the date format as mm\dd\yyyy.
When i check in the cube, these key figures shows values in decimal format and not in date format. The conversion is happening during execution.
Pleas show me some light on how to identify the cause of getting 'X' for some Sales documents in the report eventhough some are coming correctly.

Hi,
The infobject has been defined with datatype "DATE" only. It has also been mapped from datasource to infocube correctly as these key figures are populating correctly for some of the sales documents in the report. It is not like that for all the sales documents the key figures are not converting properly.
Some Sales documents are not converting into the date fields but for some conversion happens properly in the BEx report. This is the issue.
Please guide accordingly.

Text (T) symbol for field kostl not found in adhoc query selection

Dear Freinds,
We have developed a custom infotype , as per our requirement one of the field i have added is the Kostl field ( this i have created exactly the same way in infotype 0001).
I have to devlop a report using ADHOC Query based on this custom infotype , so i have developed a adhoc report ( selecting the logical database PNPCE option as it is not allowing for PNP), when i selecting the required feilds from the Custom infotype i can see for the field KOSTL field doesnt have the symbol(T) against the field . However for another ADHOC report when i am selecting from the infotype 0001 i can see the T symbol for the KOSTL . So i went and check in the custom type structur and transparent table as well , the search help etc is exactly same as that of the which are there for this field in the standard infotype 0001(Kostl). Because i have to display the description of the cost centre along with the kostl field , howeve iam able to get for Pernr descirption , for pernr iam able to see the T symbol against the field Pernr.
Please could any one guide why this field doesnt have the symbol T.

Why don't you the same data element of the KOSTL.
Eventhough you created your own infotype you can still use the stanadard data element.
If you use the standard datatype you will get those feature avalable

Currency translation for key figure in bex not working.

Hi friends,
i want to do currency translation for key figure(invoice value in local currency).
i have followed the steps as under:
1st Transferring Global Table Contents: Currencies from R/3 Systems
2nd than transfer exchange rate - from r/3 to bi
3 than In SPRO settings of BW there is option "consider translation ratios in translation"
4th than used transaction RSCUR for creating currency translation type: parameter(exchange rate:m, soure currency fom data records, target currency ISK, time ref: current date)
5th than in BEX query designer have sated this for key figure
but when i run query in RSRT, curreny amount not getting convert?
am i missing any step?

Hi Dushyant,
Are these steps followed in Query designer??
In the Query designer, for that particular key figure property, under Conversion tab >> Currency Translation >> Conversion Type, select the currency translation type you created in RSCUR.
And in the target currency, select accordingly.

Universe Designer not pulling Long Text from BEx Query / Info Object

In the BEx query on which my universe is built, all the characteristics display with Long Text. In each of the info objects (RSD1), the long text option is selected in the BEx properties. However, when the Universe builds, it pulls the short text for the names of the classes, dimensions, and details that get created. I don't want to have to manually change every line to the long text, so I would love to hear if there's some setting in the designer that is causing this to happen.
Anyone know how to fix this?

Key Figures not showing in BEx Workbooks

Hi,
Recently we migrated the BW3.5 workbooks to BI7. After the migration and transportation of the workbooks to Quality system, in some of the workbooks the Key figures are not showing up and in some workbooks the key figures which are set as 'Hide" in the query are also showing up.
Can anyone please suggest a way to fix this issue.

Thanks for your response.
Even if there is no transaction data for the key figure, it should still show up in the report but as blank column, but in my case the key figure is not at all showing in the report.
"Hide" setting for key figure is specific only to BEx and is done in the BEx query, which is being used by the Workbooks, so i do not think that it has anything to do with the InfoObject migration.

I am getting the below warning while I am installing the business content for Purchasing Cube 0PUR_C04 update Rules
"Unit 0ORDER_CURR for key figure 0ORDER_VAL is not recognized in the update rules"
And the business content activation is terminated.

How to write conversion routine for key figure?

Our customer has this requirment:
we need to know the last time of some TV program in BEx report, If a TV program last 500 seconds, we need show the key figure like this: 00:08:20, If a TV program last 100000 seconds, we need show the key figure like 27:46:40 (27 hours and 46 minitues and 27 seconds), If we define a key figure as time, BW system will report a error that say it is not acceptable time. If we want to define a integer, but we need display it like hhmmss format. We know we can write conversion routine for char. but I don't how to write conversion routine for key figure.   Please give me any hint if any other solutions?

If you want to do in Transformation Layer :
You can use routine ...break up the seconds into minute hour and seconds
you will have to handle few cases in this:
let say your variable lv_seconds holds the number of seconds you want to convert to hour min and seconds
DATA: lv_seconds type i,
           lv_hrs type i,
          lv_sec type i,
          lv_min type i.
lv_hrs = lv_seconds / 3600
if lv_hrs >= 1.
lv_min = (lv_hrs - trunc(lv_hrs))*60
here again handle seconds if min >60.
else.
lv_hrs = '00'.
lv_min = lv_hrs*60
It is just hint ..how you can manipulate the seconds to get it...you will have to think about the complete algorithm

How can i do to see the master and text values of the Key figure 0UNIT, please step by step, i m in the key figure 0UNIT but i want to see if the UNIT for example BX = BOX, something like this is that i want to check, thanks!

If you look at the unit tables, you will see the values and texts. It's in SPRO, not in RSA1. My access is limited on my system here, but the documentation says to go to t-code CUNI. I believe in that tcode you can look at all of the unit equivalencies and what each unit's text is ..... like an ea means each; KG = Kilogram; etc...
I am on an 3.x system, so in SPRO I go to BW CIG=>General Settings=>Check units of measurement.

1. As suggested by Jen, declare Field Symbols with type ANY.
2. Instead of directly using Field symbol values in the select query, create 2 temporary variables of type string and use them.

How to find key figures not created in a Structure.

After using Where Used on a selection variable Z_FISCPER3_M_SV a list of Key Figures appear. I wish to amended these Key Figures as the selection variable used is incorrect. However, I cannot find these Key Figures in the Structure? Does anyone know how to find Key Figures not created in a Structure.

-     Column u201CBIA_USEDu201D contains a value that is iterated for the given day each time the Index is used.
-     Column u201CBIA_NOTPOSSIBLEu201D contains a value representing how many times a query could not access this Index.
-     Column u201CNO_BIAu201D tells if a BWA Index exists at all on any of my BWA Blades
-     Column u201CBIA_TECHINAu201D ????????
-     Column u201CBIA_INAu201D ???????
-     Column u201CDB_FALLBACKu201D ???????
I am not sure if my understanding of the column is correct. Can you tell me they are? The columns with u201C???????u201D mean I have no solid understanding of how to use these columns at all.

ABAP Code for Key Figure selection in Report

Hello Experts,
I am working on one of the development request that requires following logic to be implemented at query execution. There will one KF column and based on valid combination of characteristics value from the cube, Key Figure value from the same cube will be selected and reported.
If ((Plant = A1) and (Division = B1))
OR ((Plant =A2 ) and (Division = B1))
OR ((Plant = A3) and (Division = B2))
OR ((Plant = A6) and (Division = B2)).
Price = Moving Avg.
Else
Price = Standard.

Step 1.Create a formula (say F1)variable with customer exit. In the customer exit code read the values of Plant and Division. If the Plant and Division combination is the one that you specified below return a 1 (for Moving Avg.) or return a 0 (for Standard).
Step 2. Create a column with a formula having the following definition
(F1=1)'Moving Avg.' + (F1=0)'Standard'
So, if the combination satisfies Moving Avg will be shown else Standard will be shown.
You can avoid customer exit coding by using replacement variables and using them in a formula, this would make your calculation clumsy and confusing. Let me know if you cannot get the customer exit solution work.

Can we give the more than 2 decimals for key figure

Hi,
can we give the more than 2 decimals for key figure while entering the manuall planning.
Ex:There is keyfigure called 0DEBIT which is having values as 1000.00 USD, 137688.00 USD.which are displaying bydefault whenever we entered the values while planing or File.
what Customer is asking us 0DEBIT keyfigure values should be display 1000.0000 USD, 137688.0000 USD. ( added two more decimals for keyfigure value).
Can we maintained decimals more than two.........?

Hi,
Though you can specify the no of decimal places for each keyfigure in the 2nd screen of layout builder but say if you have entered scaling factor as 1 and decimal places as 4 and user enters value as 15.2546, then in the cube it will be stored as 15.25 because physically the keyfigure can store values only upto two decimal places, so it will round up the figure to two decimal places. But, if you specify the scaling factor as 2 and decimal places as 4 than value 15.2546 will be stored in the cube as 1525.46.
If above explanation doesn't help you i finding out the solution for your requirement than you have to either change the number of decimal places in the keyfigure or tell user that technically it's not possible in BPS.

I am unable to copy text from Word (for Mac) into Safari. It doesn't seem to be recognizing that I am copying a selection of text from a word document. As when I try to paste, nothing happens. Is there a way around this?

Disregard question, found it. Right click, or Ctrl+click to use submenu to Copy.
