Dynamic URL images

I am new to XML Publisher and am using the Java API to read from templates to output PDFs etc. How can I embed dynamic images via URLs in the templates? How do I assign the URL to the template image variable via the Java API? Thank you in advance.
-Justin

Hi Sean,
it looks as if the answer can be found e.g. in the file "includes/tng/triggers/tNG_DynamicThumbnail.class.php" -- many functions in here (for instance "getFileName", which returns the relative filename) use the variables...
$relpath : the relative path (of an image file) to the site root
$currentfolder: sets the relative path to siteroot
This probably explains why the dynamic thumbnails can´t be found in case your rewrite rule doesn´t match the physical "relative to site root" location of the file that´s calling the Dynamic thumbnails functions

  • Performance Issue : Why does ADF Taskflow Portlet (JSF bridge portlet) loading ADF Specific images, css, js everytime from portlet producer with dynamic URL with portlet_id and context parameters?

    Hi All,
    We have used WSRP Portlet in Webcenter Portal Page. The Portlet is created using JSF Bridge out of ADF Bounded Taskflow.
    It is causing Performance issue. Every time static content like js, css and images URLs are downloaded  and the URL contain portlet_id and few other dynamic parameters like resource_id, client_id etc.
    We are not able to cache these static content as these contains dynamic URL. This ADF Specific  images, js and css files  are taking longer time to load.
    Sample URL:
    /<PORTAL_CONTEXT>/resourceproxy/~.clientId~3D-1~26resourceId~3Dresource-url~25253Dhttp~2525253A~2525252F~2525252F<10.*.*.*>~2525253A7020~2525252FportletProdApp~2525252Fafr~2525252Fring_60.gif~26locale~3Den~26checksum~3D3e839bc581d5ce6858c88e7cb3f17d073c0091c7/ring_60.gif

    Technologies Used:
    Webcenter Portal PS6
    Jdeveloper 11.1.1.7
    Please suggest , how this performance issue can be resolved?
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Digesh

    Strange...
    I can't reproduce this because i have issues with creating portlets... If i can solve this issue i will do some testing and see if i can reproduce the issue...
    Can you create a new producer with a single portlet that uses a simple taskflow and see if that works?
    Are you also using business components in the taskflows or something? You can try removing some parts of the taskflow and test if it works so you can identify the component(s) that causes the issues.

  • How to dynamically call image  in PDF for Acrobat ver 8.1 onwards?

    Hi Experts,
    I am using Web Dynpro Java. My requirement is to call the images dynamically on a PDF form. There are no of company code. I have to call different logos for different company codes/
    We are now using Acrobat 8.1.1. Please refer following thread.
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/405/kb405270.html
    From Acrobat 8.*, we have to use some different method for dynamically calling the images. Earlier we were using the concept mentioned below to dynamically call images.
    However this method is not applicable for Acrobat Reader 8.* onwards due to security reasons.
    Click on the Layout tab and choose None for the Caption position.
    u2022 Click on the Object, then the Binding tab and choose None for Default Binding.
    u2022 Click on the Field tab, enter $record.SapOnlineShopUrl for the URL entry, and select Use Image Size for the Sizing field.
    u2022 Click on the script editor and enter the following FormCalc script statement, which enables the dynamic integration of the image. Show: initialize Script: this.value.image.href = xfa.resolveNode(this.value.image.href).value; Language: FormCalc Run At: Client
    write following code in wddoinit
    try { String url = WDURLGenerator.getAbsoluteWebResourceURL( wdComponentAPI.getDeployableObjectPart(), "sap_online_shop.jpg"); wdContext.currentDataSourceElement().setSapOnlineShopUrl(url); } catch(Exception e) { throw new WDRuntimeException(e); }
    Please let me know what is the alternate method for Adope ver 8.1.1
    Regards,
    Gary

    Hi Gary,
    First you upload the image in SAP through se78.then write the below code in your adobe form interface.
    data :  v_object type  TDOBJECTGR value 'GRAPHICS',
            v_id  type TDIDGR  value 'BMAP',
            v_btype type TDBTYPE value 'BCOL',
            V_FIELD TYPE XSTRING.
    V_NAME = 'ZW_DEVMAN_LOGO'.
    CALL METHOD cl_ssf_xsf_utilities=>get_bds_graphic_as_bmp
    EXPORTING
    p_object = v_object " 'GRAPHICS'
    p_name = v_name " Name of the logo as in se78
    p_id = v_id " 'BMAP'
    p_btype = v_btype " 'BCOL' ( whether the image is in color or black and white )
    RECEIVING
    p_bmp = v_field
    EXCEPTIONS
    not_found = 1
    internal_error = 2
    OTHERS = 3.
    g_logo = v_field.
    Declare g_logo as xstring in global data.
    In context of the form make one graphic element with field g_logo and mime type BMP.It will work.

  • Creating dynamic URL parameters

    I need to access the form value j_username to create a dynamic url but the following JSP code snippet is putting a blank value into username. This is before the form is submitted.
    Any ideas ?
    <input type="button" name="btnPassword" value="Password?" onClick=
    "<c:url var="emailMyPwdUrl" value="secure/MailPasswd.do">
                     <c:param name="username"
                     value= "${document.loginForm.j_username.value}"/>
    </c:url>
    <input type="button" name="btnPassword" value="Password?"
    onClick="document.location='${emailMyPwdUrl}';"> ">         I also tried with JavaScript and am having the same problem!
    function getLogin() {
        var user = document.loginForm.j_username.value;
        if ( user == '' ) {
                alert( 'No User Name Entered');
          else {
                alert('User Name Entered:' + user);
                <c:url var="emailMyPwdUrl" value="secure/MailPasswd.do">

                         value= "${document.loginForm.j_username.value}"/>
                </c:url>
         document.location='${emailMyPwdUrl}';
    }

    Thanks for your reply,
    So basically when the user presses the "btnPassword" button I want to get the value "j_username" from the form and then redirect (no submit!)to "secure/MailPasswd.do" with parameter "username".
    I do not want to submit the form when "btnPassword" is pressed as this will cause the "j_security_check" action to take place.
    I am correctly redirected to "secure/MailPasswd.do" but the problem is the parameter "username" is blank when I try to getParameter on the "secure/MailPasswd.do" page.
    So am I setting the c:param username correctly ?
    Here is the full JSP page as I pasted it incorrectly the last time...
    c:set var="fullPath" value="${pageContext.request.contextPath}"/>
    <form name="loginForm" method="post" action="j_security_check">

  • Dynamic Url Link

    Hi,
    I want to generate a dynamic url link during the runtime (pick up fr database), which is to load an image from external source. How to do it programmatically?
    Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi Julius,
    Cant you use the LinkToURL element? For eg: like this,
    Create a LinkToURL element in your view. Give it a text like 'Click here to see photo'. The reference property of this element is bound to a context value attribute of type string. Bind the visibile property of this element to a context value attribute of type WDVisibility. This value is set to NONE in wdDoInit().
    When you know the value of the URL(for example , after a button click), form the URL value dynamically, set this value to the context attribute to which you have set the reference. At this point, set the visibility to true.

    Lm

  • Dynamic URL not working in email

    I have a question on dynamic URL. In my report I have a help image which has hyperlink (when you click on the image which will take you to a help PDF file on the SharePoint) . This hyperlink is working fine in the browser but when I email the report
    my Hyperlink is not working as there will be no server name to dynamically pick up in the email. I am using Java Script can any one tell me how can I make my dynamic hyperlink work in the email without hardcoding the URL.
    My current URL:
    =”javascript:void(window.open(‘http://’+window.location.hostname+%20′/Library/Reports/Report%20Test.pdf’,'popup’,'target=_blank,resizable=1,toolbar=0,menubar=0,location=0′))”
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Ranjith,
    Based on my test, javascript URL cannot work when we email report use MHTML format. However, it is fine when we view the email in a web browser. If we are use original URL, it is work fine no matter which format we are use. Please try to use original URL
    in the report to check if the issue is persist.
    If the issue is persist, please clarify the render format of the subscription. It is benefit for us to do further analysis.

  • Dynamically Create Image: RDataMatrix

    Hello All,
    Anyone know of any samples or tutorials showing how to dynamically create images on a web page using RDataMatrix? The library can be found at java4less.com. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    I am not aware of this. However, we have examples posted in blogs and referenced here that use a servlet URL reference from the image objec in JSF to access streamed image contents

  • Load dynamically an image

    Hi,
              I have been trying to load dynamically an image using WLS 6.0, but I
              failed. To simplify the case, following is just a simply scenario.
              All images are stored under the directory doc_root/images. When the WLS
              server is on, I enter the URL: http://localhost:8080/images/image.gif.
              If this image file exists, it is printed in the browser, it is correct.
              But when I copy a new image file (I mean at the moment when the server
              is launched, the file is not under the directory /images) say test.gif
              from other place, and then I input the
              URL:http://localhost:8080/images/test.gif. No image is printed, but for
              the moment this file is saved under the /images directory. Only when I
              shut down the server and relaunch it and type the previous URL, this
              image can be printed. I did the same test using Tomcat3.2, it worked. So
              I guess it is a bug of WLS6.0
              Our project needs to load images dynamically, we cannot shut down the
              server whenever a new image is uploaded, but we need new images can be
              printed in real time.
              Did anybody meet the same problem and is there any work around? Thanks
              in advance
              [att1.html]

    Sonia,
              On our development evironment (where we use open directory
              deployment) it works for me.
              We are using wls6.0sp1.
              Thanks,
              Kumar.

  • How to display URL images and URL link (html) from Smartforms?

    Hi Gurus,
    I'm having difficulty on how to display targeted URL images and URL link from the smartforms, after i sending it out as html mail. The mail i sent just can be preview as a plain text, which can't execute the html code that i put inside the smartforms itself. I follow a few step from this very useful blog.. Hopefully, you guys can give me some solutions or ideas on this.

    1- put your images in a directory under the web app directory. Example: app/images/
    2- in your jsp, use: String file = application.getRealPath("/images/"); to get the images directory. See http://java.sun.com/j2ee/sdk_1.3/techdocs/api/javax/servlet/ServletContext.html#getRealPath(java.lang.String)
    3- it's not the right forum to post this kind of question. Post them in the JSP/Servlet JSTL forum instead

  • Open a Dynamic URL from a Table column link

    Hi,
    Jdev Version (11.1.1.6.0)
    I have requirement to open a dynamic URL from table column. Any time I click on link, it should generate dynamic URL based on column attribute and open in popup or browser. Can someone pls suggest how to achieve this.
    Thanks
    Ank

    1)If you have any parameters that needs to be passed to build that dynamicURL, just set a propertyListener on the column attribute and get the value.
    2)Then on the af:commandLink action, build your dynamicURL with the required parameters.
    3) If you URL is all together a different application which doesn't share your transaction, you can open it as below
    In the below code, urlWithParams will be your dynamicURL.
    ExtendedRenderKitService erks =
    Service.getRenderKitService(facesContext, ExtendedRenderKitService.class);
    StringBuilder sbURL = new StringBuilder();
    sbURL.append("window.open(\"" + urlWithParams + "\");");
    erks.addScript(facesContext, sbURL.toString());
    You can also try the above response by user 948181.
    Hope it helps.

  • How create  dynamic URL for every row  shown in the report?

    Hi,
    Iam new to this Application. I created one interactive report to find the number of bugs logged for every product and its sub component for past one year. The report will look like below structure in the application.
    Product Subcomponent Total
    P1 S1 10
    P2 S2 4
    P2 S21 15
    Now i want to pick the value of Prouct and sub component for every row dynamiaclly and want to generate the URL with the conditions and make it as hyperlink for the Total Column.
    Iam able to make hyperlink for the Total column using the edit options for the total attribute, but it is opening the same page for all the rows in the total column. I want to generate dynamic URL by picking the value prodcut and sub componenet dynamically from the report for every row and want to make it as hayperlink for every row individually.
    Please tell me how to do this?
    Please revert back if you are not clear. Appericiate for your quick help.

    Hello <unknown user>,
    So you already set the Column Link attributes for your Total column. Should all links go to the same page, but with different parameters (ProductID, SubcompID)? Or to another page? And how can you determine that page?
    Assuming you'll go to a sort of detail page or form:
    Target = [Page in this app]
    Page = <your target page no>
    Item1 = <ProductID field in target page>
    Value = #PRODUCTID#
    Item2 = <SubcompID field in target page>
    Value = #SUNCOMPID#
    (you can use the ' flashlight' for getting the correct values)

  • Dynamic URL value at runtime

    Hi,
    We have created an iView of type "com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap".
    In URL template property we have set the following value:
    <System.protocol>://<System.server>:<System.port><System.uri>?parameter=value&parameter=value&...
    That's to say, it is a dynamic URL that is built at runtime.
    My question is: How can we find out the value of URL when we preview the iView, that is, the URL value at runtime?
    Helpful answers will be rewarded!!
    Thanks in advance,
    Samantha.

    Hi Samantha,
    If I am understanding the issue properly.
    the solution is:
    there is no way you can get the url for iView.
    You need to assign the iView to Role. and assign it to a user.
    When you open the iView then from title bar select Add to Favorites, this will save it in the Browser favorites and when you go to the link and see the properties you get the Short URL.
    In Portal terminology the Dynamic URL is called Short URL.
    And to find the short url navigate to
    System Administration->Navigation-> Short URLs
    Hope this helps you.

  • How to call a dynamic URL on 'button press' event, in MVC-based BSP

    Hi,
    My requirement is as below:
    On selecting a row in table view, and pressing a button, I need to open a browser.
    The Browser URL depends on the row selected.
    The key field from table view, is added at the end of the URL string.
    Shortly, I can say that, I am getting a value on row selection & want to pass it to button event.
    In Views Section, there are 2 tags- (1)table view & (2)button.
    Right now, I have put the code for getting the key field, in DO_HANDLE_DATA method.
    In Button's OnClientClick method, I have called the Javascript to open the browser.
    If I now write the code to concatenate the key field value to form the dynamic URL in 'OnClick' method,
    it will be called only after the browser is opened.
    (as OnClick event is executed only after OnClientClick event is executed)
    Could anyone please tell me what event (and in which tag) can be used to solve this.
    Is there any event which is triggered, as soon as the row is selected, &  before the button press event is triggered ?
    Would really appreciate responses made to this query.
    Thanks,
    Nisha Vengal.

    Hi Nisha,
    The crux of your issue here is that you want to call the event triggered with onClick before calling the event triggered on onClientClick. This can be achieved by the following code in the function called on the onClientClick.
    function fn_button()
               htmlbSL(this,2,'b_row_selection:onInputProcessing()');
               window.open("new_page",target="BLANK");
    Here, fn_button is the javascript function called on button click, and b_row_selection is the event triggered on the onClick event of row selection.
    Try this out and let us know if it works for you.

  • Dynamic URL in SOAP Receiver adapter

    Hi all,
    I have a scenario where I am using a SOAP receiver adapter to send a cXML document to some vendors. I need to change the URL based on the vendor number (passed by sender SRM system). So I have created a user-defined function and used in message mapping to assign the right URL to the variable TServerLocation. But the communication channel still prompts for a static URL which appears to be a mandatory field. Even though the DynamicConfiguration tab in Message Monitoring shows that the TServerLocation was correctly assigned, the scenario does not work when I put some dummy in the static URL field like 'dummy' or '*'. Any ideas on how to make the communication channel go for the dynamic URL field and ignore the static URL field? I have already selected the'Use Adapter Specific Message attributes' and 'Variable Transport Binding' check boxes. Am I referring to the correct variable that references the target URL? Also other than the two checkboxes that I mentioned, I am not displayed anything else under "Adapter Specific Message Attributes" section in the comm. channel.
    Thanks

    James,
    I ve just been digging into SAP help, and have tried it too ... Looks like it doesnt work the way it is supposed to.
    Anotheer point i found was, in the FILE ADAPTER, when we say ADAPTER SPECIFI ATTRIBUTES , we can select the attirbutes.. This is not possible in a SOAP adapter...
    Maybe, we can only access the ADAPTER SPECIIFC ATTIRIBUTES of a SOAP adapter, but cannot set them dynamically.
    Let me know if you find something on this issue.

    Bhavesh

  • How to import URL image into Adobe Muse ?

    Hello dear Adobe Community,
    I have a (silly) question, I'm building my website on muse and I can't find the way to import URL image.
    Are you forced to have all your image stocked in website ? I used to have everything on Google Plus to save me some storage place for the HD image and then to load it via URL in my old website.
    Is there anyway to import URL image ?
    Thanks you very much for your answers !

    Hello,
    In case of google plus you can  do that. Please follow the steps below.
    Step 1. Get the url of the image from google plus by Right click > Copy Image URL
    Step 2. Now you need to insert the HTML codes mentioned below in Muse by going to Object > Insert HTML
    <img src="ImageURL" width="400" height="400">
    You need to replace "ImageURL" with the link you copied from step 1. Please make sure the images are public.
    Please let me know if you face any difficulty.
    Regards
    Vivek
