Dynamic virtual directory access

Hi!
I am running into some problems.  With our new LMS on logging in, the systems creates a link to content with an on-demand virtual directory.
Now with our old system this didnt happen and we could hardcode in fms.ini the guid's of the asset locations.
Can you think of anyway for me to incorporate this on-demand guid created on login in the fms.ini so that I can get the files to play using this virtuil directory?

Unfortunately, when it comes to Streaming Server, your options are limited.
I don't work with Streaming Server (never been asked to), but to the best of my knowledge, your only possible in point for authenticating clients on a per-client basis (as opposed to defining IP's and referrers globally) is through an authentication plugin. In a recent version of FMS, Adobe added support for auth plugins to support the FMLE authentication addin, but since I've never tested, I don't know if you're able to develop your own auth plugin, or if FMSS will only accept the prefab FMLE Auth addin as a plugin.
That said, I don't see any way of mapping a virtual path for a client in an auth plugin... looks like you'd need to to an access or file plugin for this, and I'm pretty sure FMSS won't let you use either of those.
Now that I'm thinking about this, perhaps you can get around the requirement for scripting and virtual paths altogether. If the directories created by your CMS all share a common root, and you don't need to acually authenticate the client connections to FMSS (which, IMO is a really bad idea), I suppose you could configure your FMS application's media root to be the common root of the CMS folders, and then just use the path to the required file for each stream.
For example, if your CMS puts all of the folders into c:\CMS\media, and for each user session it creates something like c:\CMS\media\someSessionId\file.mp4, you could configure your media storage root as c:\CMS\media, and then when invokeing your netstream.play() method on the client side, you could just use the path to the file from the media root:
ns.play('mp4:someSessionId/file,mp4", 0, 0);
Beyond that, I don't know of what else to suggest for streaming server.

  • Servlet, Tomcat 3.3, IIS virtual directory access denied

    Hello people,
    I've set up Tomcat to run as a service with a domain log on usr/pswd. IIS works fine redirecting servlet requests to Tomcat via ISAPI redirector. All on Windows 2000 Server.
    The problem:
    The java application creates and reads files from a location which corresponds to an IIS virtual directory and is also a local directory with respect to the Tomcat and IIS installation. The application is denied access to this directory when submitting a network path (\\server/drive/directory/) where to store and read files, but is happy when a local path is given instead (E:/) Why? The domain user should have complete access to this. Is it Tomcat, IIS, or java restrictions?
    I appreciate any suggestion on this
    Thanks

    The problem would be with the logon that you have Tomcat running under. Writing to a file accessed by network share (\\server\share) is not a problem under Java as long as the logon has appropriate privileges. If you are writing to something of the form \\server\c$\directory, as it sounds like you might be, the logon may need administrator access to the box (in order to see \\server\c$).

    Hi Eliran,
    Thank you for your question.
    Are there any update recently?
    We could refer to the following steps to troubleshoot:
    1)disable A/V
    2) Run: DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821/en-gb
    3) follow http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833/en-gb to upload %WinDir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log
    4) disable snap-ins exept DNS-snapin
    5) run SDP
    6) enable A/V
    We could also re-install .Net 4.0 to check if the issue persist by the following link:
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17718

    Why did you modify analytics.ear ?
    Should'nt you make changes here : Middleware_Home>\instances\instance1\bifoundation\OracleBIPresentationServicesComponent\coreapplication_obips1

    Follow this note : OBIEE 11g: How To Access Custom Files Through URL By Creating Virtual Directory In Weblogic Server? [ID 1408240.1]

    Follow this note : OBIEE 11g: How To Access Custom Files Through URL By Creating Virtual Directory In Weblogic Server? [ID 1408240.1]
    And you should be able to deploy that virtual directory and access it after authentication.

  • Use of AppSet virtual directory in BPC70MS

    We are running OutlookSoft CPM 4.2 and using appset virtual directory directly.
    The appset virtual directory is created by default in OutlookSoft CPM 4.2.
    For example:
    - Open input schedule through the virtual directory by Workbook.Add method from another input schedule.
    - Save some kinds of data through the virtual directory by Workbook.SaveAs method.
    However, there is no appset virtual directory in BPC 7.0 MS by default.
    Therefore we have created the virtual directory by hand.
    It seems that the virtual directory works fine when the client is Windows XP.
    But there is a problem when the client is Windows Vista.
    When we access the input schedule directly from the virtual directory,
    the authentication dialog box appears for the first time in the Excel session.
    We would like to omit the authentication dialog box because it is annoying for users.
    Does anyone have some idea to solve this problem?

    Using a virtual directory outside of osoft that's means you are not longer into SAP BPC.
    So the authentication in that case it pure IIS authentication.
    IIS authentication is Intergrated Windows authentication (using windows credential for login) or Basic authentication.
    You are using IE for connection to IIS which means you have also security setttings from IE.
    For example you have the setting for security that "prompt always user name and pwd" into IE.
    Tools- Internet Option- Security
    Click what kind of site it is your site: Intranet, or trusted site or Internet. and after that click to Custom Level and go to User Authentication.
    If there is prompt user name and pwd then for sure every time when you will access any site (from coresponding group. Internet, Intranet or trusted sites) you will be always asked to input user name and pwd.
    So first level of authentication for BPC is IE and IIS authetntication. In your case you don't pass this level of authetication.
    I hope this will help.
    Again it is not a good practice to have virtual directory outside of OSOFT. When you will do a transport into other enviroment it will represent again an issue.

  • How can I use a relative path in a Virtual Directory tag?

    That is probably a bit vague, so I will explain in more detail. We are using BEA
    WL Portal 7.0 and our team is developing multiple portal applications. We have
    a core set of portlets (consist of JSPs) that we need to reuse in multiple portals
    (Web Apps), however from a version control perspective they need to reside in
    one common location. So, the solution I came up with is to use a virtual directory
    for the the common directory and add this to weblogic.xml for each web app. This
    works fine. However, each developer has different directory names for their project...ClearCase
    view names to be specific... plus we have integration views, QA views, etc...
    so we can't have any "C:\mystuff\mydomain" absolute paths anywhere in the portal
    configuration. Does anyone know of a way to use a relative path for a virtual
    directory? I have tried various versions of ../../ for example to try to backup
    and then recurse down to the directory, but this is not working. Any ideas?
    By the way this is basially just a hack for development, when we package the WAR
    for QA, Prod, etc... we copy needed files and there are no virtual directories.
    In other words, I don't care how "creative" solution is :)
    This is what I have right now, which I need to replace with a relative directory
    name:
    <virtual-directory-mapping>
    <local-path>C:/Projects/TouchPoint_v1.0_Fix/tp_portal/bipiportals/beaApps/portalApp/tp-shared</local-path>
    <url-pattern>*</url-pattern>
    </virtual-directory-mapping>

    Well, in fact you can in a special case :
    - The file you want to access is in the same directory than the applet (or in a sub-directory)
    If this condition is OK, you can open the file using :
    java.io.InputStream MyInputStream = <YourAppletClassName>.class.getResourceAsStream("sidira_interactif2.svg")
    With this stream, its easy to read the file content.

  • SMS_MP_CONTROL_MANAGER Failed to create the CCM_Incoming Virtual Directory

    Hello -
    I'm hoping someone could help me with this problem. I've searched so many websites trying to resolve this issue and it seems no matter what I try I keep getting the same error message.
    I've followed the steps in setting up SCCM 07 from this web site which was very nicely done! I've also followed the directions on Microsofts Tech Net website on how to configure WebDav and IIS settings.
    I'm working on a Virtual Windows Server 2008 32-bit OS, SP2, SCCM 07 SP2, IIS7
    Here is the message I get in the log files:
    Message ID: 4963
    Process ID: 4364
    Thread ID: 7996
    Componet: SMS_MP_CONTROL_MANAGER
    MP Control Manager detected MPsetup has failed to create the CCM_Incoming Virtual Directory.
    Possible cause: The IIS IWAM account has expired, been disabled, or has invalid or too restrictive logon hours. You may verify this information by running the net user command line for the IWAM account. (i.e.: "net user IWAMMachineName)
    Solution: Use the output to verify that the account is enabled, and logon is possible during the time of installation. Note: You can use "net user" to modify the account properties.
    Possible cause: The IIS IUSR account has expired, been disabled, or has invalid or too restrictive logon hours. You may verify this information by running the net user command line for the IUSR account. (i.e.: "net user IWAMMachineName)

    Possible cause: The designated Web Site is disabled in IIS.
    Solution: Verify that the designated Web Site is enabled, and functioning properly.
    I could be completely wrong but I read somewhere that with the latest version of IIS doesn't install these user accounts. I checked to see if those accounts existed and they didn't.
    I've tried what this one website mentioned:
    http://myitforum.com...-directory.aspx
    - Remove the MP role from the Site Server. Watch the MPSetup.log to ensure that the removal is complete.
    - Uninstall the IIS component from the OS of the Site Server.
    - Reboot the Site Server.
    - Run ccmdelcert.exe from the SMS Toolkit.
    - Reinstall the IIS component (with BITS) on the OS of the Site Server.
    - Go into the IIS manager and allow WebDav.
    - Add the MP role to the Site Server. Watch the MPSetup.log to ensure that the installation completes correctly.
    These steps didn't seem to work, probably because it was for SMS 2003.

  • DR within Same Site Using Different Virtual Directory Names

    We are deploying Exchange 2013 and have setup a set of 2013 servers in a different building we would like to use for DR.
    We have 2 servers in our main datacenter behind a load balancer and 2 servers in a 2nd datacenter within the same DAG.  So mailbox databases are already on the servers.  However for the CAS role, we are looking at just setting the DR servers to
    have different virtual directory names so in a DR situation, we just need to tell people to access owadr.domain.com instead of owa.domain.com.   The DR servers would be behind a 2nd load balancer only configured to talk to those two servers.
    Both of these datacenters are in the same AD site, and the network vLANS are stretched across each datacenter so DAG replication is already working.  The primary serves are already working behind the production load balancer.  Just need to make
    sure we are going in the right direction for the DR setup.  Our public certificate already names the names of owa.domain.com, owadr.domain.com, and autodiscover.domain.com on the cert.   We are not really concerned so much with Outlook/ActiveSync
    traffic in a DR situation, but would just like OWA to be a temporary solution while the main datacenter recovers.  So a different virtual directory name should work right?

    Hi,
    From your description, I know four servers are in the same site but with different building. So you create two load balancer. And it seems you add the DAG members into Load Balancer. Could you confirm if you use WNLB?
    In fact, WNLB can't be used on Exchange servers where mailbox DAGs are also being used because WNLB is incompatible with Windows failover clustering. If you're using an Exchange 2013 DAG and you want to use WNLB, you need to have the Client Access server
    role and the Mailbox server role running on separate servers. See more details in the following link:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj898588(v=exchg.150).aspx.For
    For your environment, I have a suggestion: we can deploy two servers with only CAS role installed. One cas in one datacenter. Put them in one Load Balancer. Point OWA URL to this load balancer. So when one datacenter is down, the request will
    go to anoter CAS in another datacenter. And the OWA URL is not changed..
    But if you want to use two OWA URLs for each datacenter. owa.domain.com and owadr.domain.com. You can set OWA internal URL and external url on CAS servers in DR site to use owadr.domain.com. And ask users to login
    https://owadr.domain.com/owa instead of
    https://owa.domain.com/owa when the primary datacenter is down.

  • Creation of Virtual Directory in weblogic.xml (OBIEE11 Weblogic)

    We are using OBIEE 11.1.1.6.4, we want to create a Virtual directory mapping in weblogic server so that we can place our static image files to access from the application URL.
    To do this activity, we have performed following steps -
    1) Navigated to C:\OBIEE11G\Oracle_BI1\bifoundation\jee
    2) Open analytics.ear file
    3) Existing code in weblogic.xml is: (if weblogic.xml is not present we need to create the file with below code)
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'US-ASCII'?>
    <weblogic-web-app xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/weblogic-web-app">
    <session-descriptor>
    <cookie-path>/analytics</cookie-path>
    </session-descriptor>
    </weblogic-web-app>
    4) We have added virtual-directory-mapping tag; After adding virtual directory mapping tag, the code in weblogic.xml is
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'US-ASCII'?>
    <weblogic-web-app xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/weblogic-web-app">
    <session-descriptor>
    <cookie-path>/analytics</cookie-path>
    </session-descriptor>
    <virtual-directory-mapping>
    <local-path>D:/virtualdirectory</local-path>
    <url-pattern>/images/*</url-pattern>
    <url-pattern>*.jpeg</url-pattern>
    </virtual-directory-mapping>
    </weblogic-web-app>
    5) We have created a folder virtualdirectory under D: drive. And then created a folder images within folder virtualdirectory.
    6) Then we have placed an image (lets say) test.jpeg within image folder.
    7) Restarted all BI services,
    8) Now when we try to access URL http://localhost:9704/analytics/images/test.gif. Now we are able to see the image, it’s working perfectly fine.
    If we paste the above URL in browser it will automatically displays the image without any authentication. So our requirement is, on pasting the URL in browser first it should redirect to OBIEE homepage and when authentication is done then it should display the image.
    Request you to please advise with your inputs.

    Why did you modify analytics.ear ?
    Should'nt you make changes here : Middleware_Home>\instances\instance1\bifoundation\OracleBIPresentationServicesComponent\coreapplication_obips1
    \analyticsRes\WEB_INF\web.xml
    Follow this note : OBIEE 11g: How To Access Custom Files Through URL By Creating Virtual Directory In Weblogic Server? [ID 1408240.1]
    And you should be able to deploy that virtual directory and access it after authentication.

  • Directory Access and Permissions

    Hi,
    I work at a company that's having a problem setting up the new macs (Core 2 Duo iMac 24") our marketing department just ordered.
    The rest of our network uses windows, so we have active directory logins for everyone. We've setup the Directory Access on the new iMacs so that marketing users log in using their AD username and pw. The local user account that 10.4 generates is set to be a local admin, but the users are just normal users in AD.
    The problem we're having is with setting permissions for some Apps that require changes from the default settings. When I go to set permissions in the Info pane of a folder or app, I open the pull down menu for 'Owner' and go to 'Other...' at the bottom to grab the user from AD (because the user is not available in the top portion where local users can normally be selected). This is where the problem occurs. This opens up the "User Listing" box, which contains a long list of AD usernames, but does not have any AD usernames that were created less than 10 months ago. I checked with my Network Admin, and virtually no settings in terms of creating AD users have changed in the last two years.
    I don't know if this is a problem with settings on the AD side or the Mac side, but here's the Mac settings in Directory Access:
    +Services: AD is checked+
    +Authentication: Custom path selected, our domain is in the list+
    +Contacts: Same as Authentication+
    +Under AD:+
    +Forest and Domain are correct, computer is bound correctly.+
    +User Experience:+
    +Create mobile account is not selected.+
    +Force local home directory on startup is selected.+
    +Use UNC path from AD... is selected, smb: is selected as Network protocol.+
    +Default user shell is selected as '/bin/bash'+
    +Mappings: Nothing selected.+
    Administrative:
    +Prefer this domain server is checked and correct for our network+
    +Allow administration by is checked, domain admins and enterprise admins+
    +Allow authentication from any domain in the forest is selected+
    Is there anything in these settings that might cause the problem described above, or is the problem something else entirely, maybe on the AD side?
    I'm also wondering if anyone knows how to find out where Directory Access is grabbing this list of users from. Perhaps our Network Admin can find out what the problem is given that info.
    Thanks,
    Gabe

    I have exactly the same problem and ProtectHome wasn't the solution. "sudo minidlnad" works fine -- TV shows root and /home/blah/blah is accessible. However, I'm not able to make the daemon run as root. Just for testing purposes, I've made all the settings as loose as possible, but TV stills shows minidlna as username and the folder is not available (systemctl status reveals permission denied).
    minidlna.service:
    [Unit]
    Description=minidlna server
    After=network.target
    [Service]
    Type=simple
    User=root
    Group=root
    ExecStart=/usr/bin/minidlnad -S
    ProtectSystem=off
    ProtectHome=off
    PrivateDevices=on
    NoNewPrivileges=off
    [Install]
    WantedBy=multi-user.target
    minidlna.conf:
    user=root
    media_dir=/home/blah/blah
    What am I missing here? No possibility to run minidlna as root after the last update any more?
    Edit:
    Never mind. During all this testing I had forgotten "User=minidlna" to /etc/systemd/system/minidlna.service.d/override.conf. Daemon as root works after removing that line.

    Thank you for your question.
    Exchange virtual directory is a directory which store some necessary URL to point to correspondent web page, those URL can provide service for user by Exchange server. it include the following component:
    On Exchange CAS server:
    Autodiscover: An important function of the Autodiscover service is to provide access to features for clients that are connected to your messaging environment. These features include the web-based offline address book (OAB), the Availability service, and
    Unified Messaging (UM). The Autodiscover service must be deployed and configured correctly for clients to automatically connect to features.
    ECP: The Exchange Control Panel is a Web application that runs on a Client Access Server providing services for the Exchange organization. This Exchange Control Panel is installed automatically when you install a Client Access server. To manage Exchange
    from just about anywhere, you simply need to enter the URL path for the application in your browser’s Address field. You can then access the Exchange Control Panel. By default, the Exchange Control Panel URL is
    https://yourserver.yourdomain.com/ecp.
    EWS: Exchange Web Services virtual directories support the calendar sharing and other functionality offered by Exchange Web Services. The Exchange Web services included in Exchange provide an XML messaging interface that enables you to manage Exchange store
    items and access Exchange server functionality from client applications.
    Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync: Exchange ActiveSync is a client protocol that lets you synchronize a mobile device with your Exchange mailbox.
    OAB: An offline address book (OAB) is a copy of an address list collection that’s been downloaded so a Microsoft Outlook user can access the address book while disconnected from the server. Microsoft Exchange generates the new OAB files and then compresses
    the files and places them on a local share. You can decide which address lists are made available to users who work offline, and you can also configure the method by which the address books are distributed.
    OWA: By default, when you install Microsoft Exchange 2013, you enable Outlook Web App. Microsoft Outlook Web App lets users access their Exchange mailbox from almost any Web browser.The Client Access server role provides proxy and redirection services for
    Outlook Web App.
    PowerShell: The Exchange Management Shell, built on Windows PowerShell technology, provides a powerful command-line interface for Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 that enables automation of administrative tasks. With the Shell, you can manage every aspect
    of Exchange. You can enable new email accounts, create Send and Receive connectors, configure database properties, manage distribution groups, and more. The Shell can perform every task that can be performed by the Exchange Administration Center (EAC) plus
    things that can't be done in the EAC. In fact, when you do something in the EAC, it's the Shell that's doing the work behind the scenes
    On Exchange mailbox server:
    PowerShell: this is the same with front CAS server.

  • How to use JSP files in virtual directory in WL 5.1

              Using WL 5.1 sp9 on Win 2000 sp3
              Following a previous post I've got this far setting up a virtual directory -
              weblogic.httpd.register.tempstuff=weblogic.servlet.FileServlet
              weblogic.httpd.initArgs.tempstuff=docHome=c:/tempstuff
              From the browser http://p1900:7001/tempstuff/test.html
              displays the html page but how do I set it up so I can access a .JSP page in there?
              I've tried changing the line to
              weblogic.httpd.register.tempstuff=weblogic.servlet.JSPServlet
              but keeps giving errors
              any ideas
              thanks
              harry

    You should be able to just bring the files into DreamWeaver. It should edit the HTML part of the JSP just fine.

  • VEND_MAT_LONG in SRM 7

    I currently have an OSS message out there awaiting a response, so I figured I would also try the forum for a better answer. We are in the process of upgrading from SRM 4 to SRM 7.  We have already upgraded the backend from ECC 6 to ECC 6 with EhP4.
