Dynamically create screens in form application

Hi,
I am trying to create a project that will read some
information from a database and then according to what it's ready
will create a number of activities.
I was hoping to making each of these activities as a
different screen that has the activity class attached to them, but
I can't seem to find a way to dynamically create a screen that has
a class name other than the default.
can anyone help me??
thanks

Here is the code which i want to execute on the form so it may better help Forms Gurus....
Again describing the goal, actually I want to fetch the employee record from different users residing in the same database with all the same name and fields , In the Main User, where this form will be exceuted, it fetched records from the employee table from other users dynamically.
PROCEDURE EMPLOyee IS
     DATE_FROM DATE     := EMP_D_from;
     DATE_TO     DATE     := EMP_D_to;
CURSOR C1 IS
SELECT      EMP_NO , EMP_DATE
FROM EMPLOYEE A -- THIS EMPLOYEE TABLE RESIDE IN SOME OTHER USER
WHERE TRUNC(A.EMP_DATE) BETWEEN DATE_FROM AND DATE_TO
AND NOT EXISTS (SELECT B.EMP_NO FROM EMPLOYEE B
WHERE A.EMP_NO = B.EMP_NO);
BEGIN
FOR REC IN C1 LOOP
INSERT INTO EMPLOYEE
(EMP_NO , EMP_DATE )
VALUES
(REC.EMP_NO , REC.EMP_DATE );
INSERT INTO EMP_DET
EMP_NO , S_NO, EMP_DEPT )
SELECT EMP_NO , S_NO, EMP_DEPT
FROM EMP_DET -- THIS SAL_RFT_DET RESIDES IN SOME OTHER USER

  • Uploading Dynamically created Internal table form Flat file

    I am creating dynamic internal table as follows:
    *-create dynamic internal table
      CALL METHOD cl_alv_table_create=>create_dynamic_table
        EXPORTING
          it_fieldcatalog = i_fldcat[]
        IMPORTING
          ep_table        = i_modify.
      ASSIGN i_modify->* TO <fs_tab>.
    The dymamic internal table is created with the given Ztable in the selection screen.
    Now the problem is when I try to upload this table <fs_table> using function module Call function 'UPLOAD'.
    The first column of flat file is getting updated in Mandt of <fs_table>.
    I want to update sy-mandt in MANDT of <fs_table> and the rest of the fields with flat file data.
    e.g.
    Flat file data:
    100 white
    101 black
    <fs_table> structure is getting uploaded as below
    mandt zcode zdesc
    100     white
    101     black
    if the clint is 700
    it has to be uploaded as
    mandt zcode zdesc
    700    100     white
    700    101     black
    Can someone knows what should be the approach or any other function module to be used ?

  • Desktop app - creating and destroying forms/frames dynamically.

    Hi all,
    I'm creating a small crypto app for the desktop using java.
    I'm using JFrames (import javax.swing.JFrame) with Oracle JDeveloper 11g under Linux.
    I want to have a "welcome" form/frame where users can choose their encryption method,
    and then on choosing the method, I want to dynamically create the appropriate form for
    the chosen encryption method and also destroy/free/dispose() of the welcome form.
    When the user has finished their encrypting, they should close the frame/form (either by
    clicking on the x at the top right - or using the Exit button or by any method) and the
    welcome frame should be dynamically recreated and appear.
    I've tried various things - btnEncode_actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) then
    this.dispose() - and I've fiddled with this_windowClosed(WindowEvent e) and
    dispose(), but nothing seems to work.
    Even a workaround using setVisibl(true/false) would be acceptable at
    this stage - this has been wrecking my head all day. It's very easy to do in Delphi!
    TIA and rgs,
    Paul...

    What do you mean that "nothing seems to work"? What does it do instead?
    Post a small piece of runnable code that demonstrates the problem, and we'll go from there.

  • Dynamically creating properties

    Hi,
    I'm migrating my application from NW 7.0 to NW 7.11 CE.
    Previously I dynamically created properties from my application and they were automatically created as onlinemodifiable = true.
    When I migrated my project the properties were no longer created as modifiable.
    Can anybody point me to documentation or suggest a way to solve this issue?
    Here's my code creating the dynamic property:

              try {
                   cfg =

              } catch (ConfigurationException e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
              // get the property sheet
              PropertySheet ps = cfg.getPropertySheetInterface();
              // Create the property
              ps.createSecurePropertyEntry(propertyName, "", "");

  • Multi-form applications

    I have a created a multi-form application where i have a calling form which calls another form. The user could commit changes in the called form and return to the calling form and either have changes in that form committed or rolled back. However, a commit in the called form SHOULD NOT commit any changes in the calling form. All this works fine.
    I have implemented this using "autonomous transaction". I am using the call_form --> open_form sequence for this purpose. i.e there is a call to a dummy form using call_form and this dummy form calls the other form using open_form call. Now, the problem that i have is that, at times the called form gets hidden behind the calling form and what is visible to the user is the calling form - with no access to any items on the form as this form is now NOT the active form in the application. This problem, though not reproducible has occurred many times. I do not have a solution to this. Any suggestions/pointers/soultions most welcome.
    Thanks in advance..

    What are OPEN_FORM,CALL_FORM,NEW_FORM? diff?
    CALL_FORM : It calls the other form. but parent remains active, when called form completes the operation , it releases lock and control goes back to the calling form.
    When you call a form, Oracle Forms issues a savepoint for the called form. If the CLEAR_FORM function causes a rollback when the called form is current, Oracle Forms rolls back uncommitted changes to this savepoint.
    OPEN_FORM : When you call a form, Oracle Forms issues a savepoint for the called form. If the CLEAR_FORM function causes a rollback when the called form is current, Oracle Forms rolls back uncommitted changes to this savepoint.
    NEW_FORM : Exits the current form and enters the indicated form. The calling form is terminated as the parent form. If the calling form had been called by a higher form, Oracle Forms keeps the higher call active and treats it as a call to the new form. Oracle Forms releases memory (such as database cursors) that the terminated form was using.
    Oracle Forms runs the new form with the same Runform options as the parent form. If the parent form was a called form, Oracle Forms runs the new form with the same options as the parent form.
    Call_form.
    BEGIN
    CALL_FORM('FORM2',

  • Calling Java screens from Oracle Forms application

    I am working with a client that has a large Oracle forms application. Since rewriting the entire application in Java is not an option at this time, the strategic direction is that any new modules that are to be created for the application are to be done in Java and called from the Forms menu. The decision as to what tool to use to develop the Java modules is still under debate. What is the best (most seamless) way to do this...calling a Java screen from a Forms application? If anyone has any experience in this, or can direct me to some literature on it, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    This is a web app in Forms/Reports 10g R2 running off Oracle AS and an Oracle db. The challenge for us is that the direction is that any new enhancements (screens) are to be built using Java (in either ADF Faces or Swing, another point for debate later) and then called from the Forms app. The business client is only paying for the enhancement. They don't care about moving off Forms to Java, so any extra work on the part of IT to do this, has to be fairly minimal and doable within the project budget. The movement to Java is an IT direction. Is there a way to do this without having to build a java framework for the entire Forms application (which I assume would take some time and involve retesting the entire app)?

  • Is it possible to dynamically create form fields in PDF form?

    Hi all,
    I would like to dynamically create object like textbox, dropdown list from xml data. For example:
    When I receive following xml data:
    <field name="Check Box" type="selectbox"/>
    <field name="Text Field" type="textbox"/>
    I want to generate 2 form fields check box and text field with title "Check Box" and "Text Field" accordingly.
    Is it possible to do it in javascript for PDF form?
    Thank you and regards,
    Anh

    You cannot dynamically create objects on the fly like that but you can create interpret the XML and create an XDP file (which is the language of the template file) then bring that into Designer and create a PDF from that.

    Hi all,
    I want to create dynamic selection-screen.in that dynamic selectio-screen i want to display date fields based on table name given in the selection-screen.

    Hi Billa,
    Look into the function group SSEL, this has some SAP standard functions to work with dynamic selection screens.

  • To create Dynamic Selection screen using Key Fields

    Hi All,
    We have a requirement where we want to create Dynamic selection screen using Key fileds of Z-table or any standard table.
    Please provide some solution if you have worked in this area.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Anand Raj Kuruba

    Hi,
    You can use the following statement.
    SELECTION-SCREEN DYNAMIC SELECTIONS FOR NODE|TABLE <node>.
    declares a node <node> of a logical database for dynamic selections in the selection include.
    To use the dynamic selections in the SELECT statements of the subroutine PUT_<node>, you must use the data object DYN_SEL. The data object DYN_SEL is automatically generated in the logical database program as follows:
    TYPE-POOLS RSDS.
    DATA DYN_SEL TYPE RSDS_TYPE.
    You do not have to program these lines yourself. The data object DYN_SEL is available in the database program but not in a connected executable program.
    The type RSDS_TYPE of the data object is defined in the type group RSDS as follows:
    TYPE-POOL RSDS.
    WHERE-clauses ------------------------------
    TYPES: RSDS_WHERE_TAB LIKE RSDSWHERE OCCURS 5.
    TYPES: BEGIN OF RSDS_WHERE,
    TABLENAME LIKE RSDSTABS-PRIM_TAB,

    END OF RSDS_WHERE.
    TYPES: RSDS_TWHERE TYPE RSDS_WHERE OCCURS 5.

    TYPES: BEGIN OF RSDS_EXPR,

  • Can't find the table when creating the form application

    Hi there,
    I have created a new table named lp_cschedule under a user named
    lptrain in users tablespace.
    I want to create a form application to view this table. However,
    I can find this table in the list.
    Don't understand why ? Any idea ?
    Regards,
    Maggie

    Perhabs, the application's owner does not have the previleges on
    the table you have mentioned. Follows the citation of the Forms
    (from tables or views) wizard help:
    Tables, views, and synonyms in the application schema where you
    have SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, or DELETE privileges.
    Tables, views, and synonyms where SELECT has been granted to
    public users.
    You automatically have SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, or DELETE
    privileges on a table or view if it is owned by an application
    schema where you have Edit or higher access privileges.
    You can check the owner (=schema) of the application from the
    Navigator clicking on the Edit action link against your
    application.

  • Problems creating dynamic selection screen

    Hi all,
    i'm trying to dynamically generate a selection screen and show it as subscreen using the two function modules FREE_SELECTIONS_INIT and FREE_SELECTIONS_DIALOG. I call the function modules in the PBO of the therefor defined subscreen. The FREE_SELECTIONS_DIALOG fm has the two import parameter "as_subscreen" and "as_window". If i use the "as_window" parameter the selection screen comes up as popup. If i use the "as_subscreen" parameter, i can't see anything in my defined subscreen.
    Any suggestions ?
    Thanks in Advance
    Dirk

    Hi,
    The above requirement is not possible without using logical database.
    The reason is that the compiler identifies the below syntax only inside a LDB program .
    SELECTION-SCREEN DYNAMIC SELECTIONS
                     FOR {NODE|TABLE} node [ID id].
    The above syntax creates a subscreen container on the standard selection screen of the program during generation
    and we are able to view the dynamic selections icon on the selection screen.
    Hence it is not possible to use the FM 'FREE_SELECTIONS_DIALOG' as a subscreen without using a
    logical database of the relevant table.
    However if you dont want to create a new LDB for each table, there is a trick which needs to be performed
    once in your SAP system and all custom programs can use this FM to create a dynamic selection screen
    as a subscreen of the standard selection screen.
    The prerequisite steps are as follows:
    1: Create a dummy  / test database table in SE11 with a single field i.e. for example mandt , matnr
    2: Create a new logical database program for this table in SE36. Save and activate.
    This will create dynamic selections for the fields of the table created in step 1.
    Steps to be followed in the required custom ABAP program to create the dynamic selection screen as a subscreen.
    A: Include the LDB program created in step 2, in the attributes of the custom ABAP program.
    Now when you execute the program, you can see the dynamic selection icon for the dummy table created in step 1.
    B: In your custom program we need to suppress the icon for 'Dynamic Selections' from the standard selection screen.
       We need to perform this action, because the 'Dynamic Selections' icon always triggers a call to the
       dynamic selection screen of the included LDB progam. ( In our case a dummy table created in step 1 ).
       Whereas we want to trigger a call of the dynamic selection screen of our desired table.
       Logic is as follows:
       In 'AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT' event call the FM RS_SET_SELSCREEN_STATUS to exclude the fcode 'DYNS'.
    C: Add a pushbutton / checkbox on your selection screen to trigger a call to the FM 'FREE_SELECTIONS_INIT' &
       'FREE_SELECTIONS_DIALOG' in the 'AT SELECTION-SCREEN' event.
    D: When the user clicks the pushbutton / checkbox for dynamic selections call the above 2 FM for the desired table
        with the AS_SUBSCREEN flag of FREE_SELECTIONS_DIALOG = 'X'
    Result: Your dynamic selections screen will be created as a subscreen of the standard selection screen and not as a pop-up.
    Advantage: With the creation of the single custom table & LDB, you are now able to create dynamic selections as subscreen
    in any program in the system. All we need to do is follow the steps A, B & C in each program.
    Note: Your other restrictions with dynamic selection screen ie. submit in background , save as variant still remain and
    you need to handle them accordingly.

  • Dynamically create Form Guide

    Is it possible to dynamically create a form guide using a data model? We want to be able to control what fields are hidden and visible based on the data. Can this be done through XML?

    I need to create dynamic form guides which can be controlled by data or schema . Don't know if Form Guides can interpret XFA/XML data or even XSD.
    We store information in a database, which varies by user. When a user accesses the guide, I need to create an XML/XFA, from the database, and pass it to the guide. This should determine which fields appear....
    The company wants to refrain from JS which is another challenge...
    - Is there a way to dynamically change the appearance of the guide based ONLY on data? For example, hide or display fields
    - Similarly, is it possible to control access to certain fields base ONLY on data? For example, Read Only vs Editable.
