Dynamically hide/unhide elements?
Hello
I have generated dynamic controls on form through XML, now I want to hide/unhide the elements based on click of particular item.
Also i have added the click event on the desired elements and trying the following in function
this["sampleElementID"].visible = false;( in sampleElementid i am passing the id of the element which needs to be hidden)
Is there is any method like document.getElementbyId in action script???
( also tried get getChildByName("sampleElementID").visible = false; but it does not work)
Help needed....
Thank in advance!
Hi Vibhor Seth,
please find the working code below:
var sampleForm:Form = new Form();
var sampleFormItem:FormItem = new FormItem();
var sampleTextInput:TextInput = new TextInput();
sampleTextInput.id="smpleTxtIpt";
sampleTextInput.name="smpleTxtIpt";
sampleTextInput.text = "sample Text Input";
sampleFormItem.addElement(sampleTextInput);
//adding in form
sampleForm.addElement(sampleFormItem);
addElement(sampleForm);
sampleFormItem.getChildByName("smpleTxtIpt").visible = false;
In the code you have posted you have used different names for id and name....Try to use the same names for both id and name ...however it is not compulsory...but its good practice...
Also you have used sampleForm.getChildByName("smpleTxtIntName").visible = false; But you should be using the below line of code:
sampleFormItem.getChildByName("smpleTxtIpt").visible = false;
In your code you are trying to use the getChildByName() method on the Form tag but you should be using on the FormItem container.
Note: Remember you can access the child elements by using the getChildByName() only for the elements which are direct childs of a container but not the from the parent of parent container.
So by the AS code you created the following structure is created:
<mx:Form id="sampleForm">
<mx:FormItem id="sampleFormItem">
<mx:TextInput id="smpleTxtIpt" name="smpleTxtIpt" />
</mx:FormItem>
</mx:Form>
So if you want to make TextInput visible false..then you need to use ..... sampleFormItem.getChildByName("smpleTxtIpt").visible = false;
but not sampleForm.getChildByName("smpleTxtIpt").visible = false; since smpleTxtIpt is direct child of sampleFormItem.
Hope now things are clear for you...
If this post answers your question or helps, please kindly mark it as such.
Thanks,

How to Dynamically Hide-Unhide Report Details
Is there a technique to hide/unhide data?
I am creating a report that summarizes transaction data. The users want the opportunity to review the details behind the summary as the report is being reviewed.
Is there a way to hide the detail data while providing a mechanism for the reviewer to view the detail as desired?
TIAI have implemented this in BI Publisher enterprise and using the desktop version and I don't get this error..
I did come across another thread that discusses this error. R12: Namespace prefix 'dhtml' used but not declared.
Not sure if that addresses your setup and issue.. You can send me your template to [email protected] if you would like me to take a look.
Thanks! -
Dynamic hide unhide row ( collapse expandable)
Hi,
I've tried the DHTML solution* to expand/collapse rows, but for the "hidden" part, when the "+" is clicked, only part of the data is visible. I have to pass over the data with the mouse to see them. Any idea why?
*http://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/entry/show_it_no_hide_it_no_show_itThat is way too much unformatted code to even pretend to look at.
1) Make a small example program that shows the offending behavior
2) Post the code in between code tags (you know, that code button you see in the message editor)
From the question it also looks like this isn't a JSP question, since you said you could replicate the issue in static HTML, which makes this the wrong place to ask. Perhaps some HTML/CSS forum can help you. -
How to deal with dynamic selection screen elements when macros are used?
Hello experts,
This is regarding the dynamic selection screen elements. Actually the requirement is to modify the existing standard report program RFUMSV00 by copying it into a Z report, adding a few selection screen elements and new fields in the output. I actually did everything required except for the one thing that is going out of my reach.
There are a certain fields which are coming when they are not supposed to get displayed. I don't understand the code because of its obsoleteness. Neither can I debug it because it is just data declaration.
This is the code where there is a fault. If I copy the entire code into a new Z report, I'm getting new fields like Entry Date, Document Type, Reference Transaction, Reference key, Logical system.
DEFINE selection_screen_line.
selection-screen: begin of line.
parameters &3 like &4 default 'X' modif id mc4.
selection-screen: comment (30) &1 for field &3 modif id mc4.
selection-screen: comment pos_low(10) text-019
for field &2 modif id mc4. "neu
parameters &2 like rfums_alv-variante modif id mc4.
selection-screen:
position pos_high.
selection-screen: pushbutton (15) text-028
user-command &5 modif id mc4.
selection-screen end of line.
END-OF-DEFINITION.
Kindly, suggest me the right solution.In the program attributes ( SE38 > RFUMSV00 > GOTO > Properties ), you will find a logical database BRF declared. The include DBBRFSEL is part of the selection screen of this logical database.
The selection screen is actually the selection screen of this logical database.
Under the Logical Database field, there is a Selection screen field where you can input which selection screen of the logical database to be used.
But, this is just to change the selection screen that is displayed. To completely suppress it you need to remove logical database declaration from the properties of the program and call it inside your program through function module.
You cannot just remove it from the declaration because many of its variables are used in the program.
So call it using function module as the first step in INITIALIZATION section of the program.
The syntax and function module to call it in your program can be found in the following thread :
How to hide the selection screen of a Logical datebase?

Hide/Unhide Columns in WEBI Report output
We have a WEBI report which has 2 columns/measures to display the cost in EUR and USD. User would like to have the flexibility to filter the column so as to display USD or EUR cost column. Is it possible to hide/unhide column in WEBI. Can we have a input control on multiple measures so that user can dynamically select which measures they want to see on report.
Its possible in BEx Analyser using filter option on key figure. Is simillar functionality available in WEBI? We're on BO 3.1 XI. Is thre any other way to achieve this?
Thanks,
Milindhi,
i think it is not possible to hide a column based on condition. but in webi 4.0 u have an option using which, u can hide/ show a table based on the user selection. in ur scenario, create two tables, one with value in USD and other in EU, super impose the table. then right onthe table and select "Format cell". in that u ll have a option to hide the table based on condition. select that and apply the condition.
see the follwoing url for more info : http://bihappyblog.com/2011/11/05/dynamic-visibility-in-webi/
thank u,

Hi there,
I will appreciate if someone can provide JavaScript that can hie/unhide the top ribbon and navigation menu? (SharePoint 2010)
Thanks.Hi,
By investigating the page source, we can see that the Ribbon is corresponding to the <div> whose id is “s4-ribbonrow”, the Top Navigation is “zz17_TopNavigationMenuV4”,
then we can change the style these two elements to hide/unhide them.
The links below with code demos about
how to hide/unhide page elements using JavaScript for your reference:

Hide/ unhide option for Product prices
Hi All,
We want to implement hide/ unhide option for Product prices i.e. whenever the user wants to unhide the price of a product, the user should click on a link u201CHideu201D and then it should hide the price of all the products. And similarly, when the user clicks on u201CUnhideu201D link, then it should display the prices of all the products.
Can it be done through some config or through some code changes. Can you please let me know how to achieve this.
Thanks,
NikhilHello Nikhil,
I assume that you would want to achieve this at the catalog page level or at a basket level. There is no standard config that can be used at runtime to hide/unhide price elements as per user choice.
What you could do is modify the corresponding JSP files to add your custom logic via combination of some Javascript and div tags.
PS: Refer to the section of the item details div on the order screen which uses similar logic to collapse/unfold item details on click of the arrow buttons.

Now my problem is, that I need for every ROW of my table UI Element a different cell editor. I know how to change it for the column. But is not my issue. I want to have images (traffic lights red and green) in some rows. The other rows should have numbers. The coding works, so that I have all the data at the right place in my table, only the images are shown as a string, because the cells of these rows have the cell editor Text_View. I tried something with cell variants (with cl_wd_table_standard_cell), but it was not possible for me to get a cell variant "image" in these cells/rows were I need it.
I hope you understand my problem and now what to do here.
Thanks a lot in advance.

How to Hide / Unhide iGrid Applet
I'm attempting to develop an irpt page which will feature two grids / applets. The topmost grid will be visible upon initial load of the page. Upon selecting a record from the top grid, I'd like to then unhide the bottom grid so that a user may select a row from it before then calling another page.
I've tried all of the following methods to hide / unhide the grid but none appear to be working:
1) Set the style.display of the applet to 'none' and then set it to 'inline' after row selection of the top grid.
2) Set the column widths of the bottom iGrid to 0 and then use the document.iGrid-applet.ColumnWidths=x,y JS command after row selection of the top grid.
3) Set the initial width of the iGrid applet to 1 X 1 and then use the document.getElementById("applet-iGrid").style.width / height = 'xxxpx' after row selection of the top grid.
None of these solutions work. It appears that once the iGrid applet is loaded, none of these properties may then be utilized to change it's appearance.
How can hide upon load and then subsequently unhide an iGrid applet??
Thanks in advance,
RandyThanks Udayan - this worked.
Only other tidbit was that it appears you first have to set the style display to inline in the div tag (to ensure all subsequent object references to the grid are valid).
Then in the function called by the update event of your top iGrid applet, you have to hide the bottom iGrid/applet with the style="display:none" command.
Then in the function called by the selection event of your top iGrid applet, you have to unhide the bottom iGrid/applet with the style="display:inline" command.
This ensures the applet is first displayed (so that all references to the grid object are valid), hide it when the first (top) grid is displayed, and then unhide it when a row is selected from the first (top) grid.
Thanks again,
Randy -
Hide/Unhide Button on a Custom Form?
Hello! I am looking for some ideas regarding the ability to hide/unhide a button on a custom form. Ideally, I would like to create an authorization group, if a user is a member of the authorization group, they can see the button, if not, the button is hidden. Is this something that can be done? If not, does anyone have another way of doing this? Thank you.
Are you asking specifically for Smartforms, SAPforms, Interactive Adobe forms? Or generally about UI programming?
Generally yes, this is possible and is also often done to give the user a more friendly interface to work with (without having to click on buttons, only to discover that they cannot use it anyway).
Many standard transactions are developed in this way.

I have an element on a page that is hidden. I use a picture thumbnail to reveal it the element when clicked. In the element I have a detail photo and some text that hides the element. Once I have revealed and then re-hidden the element, I can no longer reveal it again. Any ideas why this is. Please let me know if you need any further info to diagnose the problem.

Passing Dynamic Number of Elements and Attributes in Orchestrator
i am having trouble determining the best way, from a powershell snippet in a Run .Net Activity, to pass a dynamic list of elements with each element having a dynamic list of attributes . Example:
on one call of the activity the data might be the following:
element1 with 3 attributes
element2 with 2 attributes
element3 with 0 attributes
on another call of the activity the data be the following:
element1 with 0 attributes
element2 with 3 attributes
i understand how to create objects, arrays, and hashes. i would like to know the best way to pass the data above from the .Net activity powershell snippet (where the data is created) to another activity. Ideally I would like to pass
a custom object created with powershell (not an array or hash), but research tells me that it is not possible to publish an object on the Orchestrator databus. Any assistance is appreciated.You can try combining the parameters into a single string in PowerShell separated by a delimiter like a semi-colon. Then you can have a single parameter in the Invoke Runbook activity. Once the parameter is passed you can then use the Split Field activity
that is included in the Data Manipulation IP.
http://orchestrator.codeplex.com/releases/view/83934
You could do something similar for the SQL Query. Just combine the string to a single output in PowerShell and use the PARSENAME function, or something similar, to separate out your parameters.
