Dynamically passing the Columns values
HI all,
I am trying a pl/sql block which which take a string and execute it dynamically. Suppose below is string
M_COL := Q'[(P_CODE=> ':DEPTNO',P_CODE_TYPE => 'STATE')]';
Now trying to execute it. using below
M_STR := 'SELECT CHK_DEPT' || M_COL || ' FROM EMP WHERE EMPNO=''7499''';
EXECUTE IMMEDIATE M_STR
INTO M_DATE;
Now what i want is M_STR vairable to executed as
SELECT CHK_DEPT(P_CODE=> DEPTNO,P_CODE_TYPE => 'STATE') FROM EMP WHERE EMPNO='7499'
instead of
SELECT CHK_DEPT(P_CODE=> 'DEPTNO',P_CODE_TYPE => 'STATE') FROM EMP WHERE EMPNO='7499'
other in other way in parameter P_CODE Column value of DEPTNO should be passed.Also note that DEPTNO column in string M_COL is Dynamic.i.e
M_COL := Q'[(P_CODE=> ':DEPTID',P_CODE_TYPE => 'STATE')]'; OR
M_COL := Q'[(P_CODE=> ':EMP_ID',P_CODE_TYPE => 'STATE')]';
Any suggestions, Please share with me.
ibney
Actually you can use it by using the EMP and DEPT Table. If you Require EMP and DEPT tables structure and data, then let me know.
Function which i created is below.
CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION CHK_DEPT(P_CODE NUMBER,P_CODE_TYPE VARCHAR2) RETURN VARCHAR2 IS
M_NAME DEPT.DNAME%TYPE;
BEGIN
FOR I IN (SELECT DNAME FROM DEPT WHERE DEPTNO = P_CODE) LOOP
M_NAME := I.DNAME;
END LOOP;
RETURN M_NAME;
END;

My columns will remain same but values changes (based on column formula) according to the selected prompt value
If I select 'Oct' from prompt then
Curr will contain data for 'Oct' only
Next1 will contain data for 'Nov' only
Next2 will contain data for 'Dec' only
Next3 will contain data for 'Jan' of next year only.
Later if I select 'Jul' from prompt then
Curr will contain data for 'Jul' only
Next1 will contain data for 'Aug' only
Next2 will contain data for 'Sep' only
Next3 will contain data for 'Oct' only.
I don't have different columns for each months but the columns are capable to reflect data for any month.
So, how can I reflect the column name as month name for which that contains data.

Is it possible to pass the property value dynamically to composite.xml
Hi,
Is it possible to pass the property value dynamically to composite.xml from bpel?
For ex:
<property name="bpel.config.auditLevel">$variable</property>
I will get a different $variable value every time to bpel.
Also, when I included the following code inside .bpel
invoke name="InvokeListFileFTPAdapter-ListFiles"
partnerLink="ListFilesFTPAdapter"
portType="ns3:FileListing_ptt" operation="FileListing"
inputVariable="listfilesRequest"
outputVariable="listfilesResponse" bpelx:invokeAsDetail="no">
<bpelx:toProperties>
<bpelx:toProperty name="bpel.auditLevel"
variable="AuditVariable"/>
</bpelx:toProperties>
</invoke>
where auditvariable='Off'
I don't see any change in em. The invoke activity is showing full payload, Can't we turn off the audit level from .bpel not from composite.xmlHi,
You can use bpel preferences for that:
1.
In the composite add a property, for ex:
<component name="test">
<implementation.bpel src="test.bpel"/>
<property name="bpel.preference.exam">abc</property>
</component>
2.
To get the value within your bpel process use: ora:getPreference(exam)
3.
Then, you can change the value in the EM:
Under Farm_soa_domain>weblogic domain>your_domain>soa_server1
Right click on menu>system Mbean browser>oracle.soa.config>server:soa_server1>SCAComposite>your project>SCAComposite.SCAComponent>processName>
Now, click on the properties attribute : you can see the exam property and change the value.

Function returning SQL - dynamically select the column
Hi there,
[Oracle 11g],
Hi there,
I want to dynamically select the column to be displayed.
Or lets say it in an easier way regarding the EMP Table:
I got a table called teststable with value1 and value2 in it.
Value1 is EMPNO
Value 2 is DEPTNO
Now I like to have something like this:
Select (Select Value1 from testtable),(Select Value2 from testtable) from EMP This will not work. So I need a function for this. Does someone now how to get this to work? Thx in advance. Thorsten+ 1 to the above replies.
An example to pick the column name dynamically from a table and rendering the output of EMP table as a XMLTYPE is here.Pushing it a little bit further, you can project back XML as relational rows and columns :
SQL> with testtable (value1, value2) as (
2 select 'EMPNO', 'DEPTNO' from dual
3 )
4 select x.*
5 from testtable t
6 , xmltable(
7 'for $r in fn:collection("oradb:/SCOTT/EMP")/ROW
8 return element r {
9 $r/*[local-name()=$v1]
10 , $r/*[local-name()=$v2]
11 }'
12 passing t.value1 as "v1"
13 , t.value2 as "v2"
14 columns value1 varchar2(30) path '*[1]'
15 , value2 varchar2(30) path '*[2]'
16 ) x
17 ;

How to get the column values from a BC4J View Table in UIXML?
I am using a default UiXML Application for Order Entry system with Orders & Order Lines & Customers. I have a uix file OrdersView1_View.uix which displays (no updateable columns) all the Orders. How do I get the column value of a selected row in a BC4J Table (example:OrdersId) when a Submit button is pressed using UIXML or Java Classes?
I appreciate any help on this.Hi,
You need to use keyStamp, an example:
<bc4j table name="orders">
<bc4j:keyStamp>
<bc4j:rowKey name="key" />
</bc4j:keyStamp>
Furthermore, you can automatically send the selected row key using the go event handler, so in the handlers section you could send the key to an orderInfo page:
<event name="show">
<!-- forward to the update page, passing
the selected key as a page property -->
<ctrl:go name="orderInfo" redirect="true">
<ctrl:property name="key">
<ctrl:selection name="orders" key="key" />
</ctrl:property>
</ctrl:go>
</event> -
Can be passed Formula Column value to Procedure/Function?
Below cf_value is return after some calculation by using main query.
Can be directly passed formula column value to procedure without assinged to placeorder?
as below..
f_convert(:cf_value,new_value);
My Procedure is...
PROCEDURE f_convert( val1 in number,val2 in out number) IS
BEGIN
val2 := val1 * 100;
END;
If anyone knows pls reply me....Actually, if there is any other calculations there (In Proceudre)
Can I used is as below??
PROCEDURE f_convert( val1 in number,val2 in out number) IS
BEGIN
val2 := val1 * 100;
return (val2);
END;
----A procedure cannot return a value, the return clause in my previous post was part of the function for formula column.
Suppose you have a formula column say CF_2 then the function for it will be as:
function cf_2formula return number
is
val1 number;
val2 number;
begin
val2 := :cf_1 * 100; -- or val2 := val1 * 100 --parameters not allowed in formula column function
-- All the other code that you need inclusive of calling function, procedure as in any PL/SQL block can be placed
return (val2);
end;So any other calculation can be used in the formula column function -
Unable to pass report column value to url in select statement. Please help
Hi all,
I am trying to pass the report column value as follows:

'f?p=&APP_ID.:91:&SESSION.:'' '':NO::P91_KEY,P91NUM,P91_PREVPG:'And I am passing values as follows:
{noformat}
'#KEY#,'#NUM#','9' ELSE null
END Attachment
from tableA
{noformat}
But, I am not able to figure out correct sysntax to pass these column values. Can anyone give me some help. I appreciate it.

Edited by: sumak on Jun 23, 2009 12:22 PMSuma,
If you're trying to generate a column with a URL, try something like the following:
select key, num,
case when Attachmentcnt(KEY) != 0 then
'f?p=&APP_ID.:91:&SESSION.:'' '':NO::P91_KEY,P91NUM,P91_PREVPG:'
|| tableA.key || ',' || tableA.num || ',' || :P91_PREVPG
else NULL
end
FROM tableA;
But the best way to pass these would include checksum values against the values of your parameters (to make sure a user doesn't hack them). You'll need to check the Apex User manual for details - See "Understanding Session State Protection".
Good luck,

How can i pass the Input value to the sql file in the korn shell ??
Hi,
How can i pass the Input value to the sql file in the korn shell ??
I have to pass the 4 different values to the sql file and each time i pass the value it has to generate the txt file for that value like wise it has to generate the 4 files at each run.
can any one help me out.
RajaCan you please more elaberate., perhaps you should more elaberate.
sqlplus is a program. you start it from the korn shell. when it's finished, processing control returns to the korn shell. the korn shell and sqlplus do not communicate back and forth.
so "spool the output from .sql file to some txt file from k shell, while passing the input parameters to the sql file from korn shell" makes no sense. -

How to pass the Bound values to VO SQL Query during runtime?
Hi all,
I have the following sql query;

AND TRX_DATE BETWEEN NVL(:6,TRX_DATE)
AND NVL(:7,TRX_DATE)
If i click GO button on search page then it pass the selected Poplists values as a Bound values to VO Sql query at runtime after this I store the search results in a Table(Which is created by using New Region Wizard).
I want to pass the Bind parameter values to VO SQL query during runtime and :1,:2,:3,:4,:5,:6,:7 values are coming from Poplists.
I search through forum I found many threads regarding Bind Values but those all are passing ID's only not String(Varchar) values.
How to pass the Character values to VO Query.

Hi,
I have to change the column values in a table. The values in the column are to be updated.
For e.g. If the old value is
"xxxxxxxxxx", I need to take that and update into "xxxyyyxxxx".
The column values is so long as its a description field, so its a combination of many other table fields. Its just I need to add one more field.
How can I do that? Any help appreciated.
ThanksHi,
See this:
I have got table with DESCRIPTION column which will be updated. Table structure is:
SQL> DESC SOLD_ITEMS;
Nazwa Wartość NULL? Typ
COMPONENT VARCHAR2(255)
SUBCOMPONENT VARCHAR2(255)
YEAR NUMBER(4)
MONTH NUMBER(2)
DAY NUMBER(2)
DEFECTS NUMBER(10)
DESCRIPTION VARCHAR2(200)
Table description contains values from (component, year, month, day & defects) column. I would like to add subcomponent value to this column.
SQL> SELECT * FROM SOLD_ITEMS;
COMPONENT SUBCOMPONENT YEAR MONTH DAY DEFECTS DESCRIPTION
graph bar 2006 4 3 10 graph 2006/4/3
graph bar 2006 4 1 1 graph 2006/4/1
search user search 2006 4 2 23 search 2006/4/2
search user search 2006 4 1 54 search 2006/4/1
search product search 2006 3 20 0 search 2006/3/20
search product search 2006 3 16 3 search 2006/3/16

SQL> EDIT
Zapisano plik afiedt.buf
I use the SUBSTR and LENGTH function to place SUBCOMPONENT value between COMPONENT value and YEAR value. That's how I done it:
1 UPDATE SOLD_ITEMS
2* SET DESCRIPTION = SUBSTR(DESCRIPTION,1,LENGTH(COMPONENT)) || ' ' || SUBCOMPONENT || ' ' || SUBSTR(DESCRIPTION,LENGTH(YEAR))
SQL> /
6 wierszy zostało zmodyfikowanych.
SQL> SELECT DESCRIPTION FROM SOLD_ITEMS;
DESCRIPTION
graph bar 2006/4/3
graph bar 2006/4/1
search user search 2006/4/2
search user search 2006/4/1
search product search 2006/3/20
search product search 2006/3/16
