Dynamically resizing Knobs on JScrollPane when JPanel contents grows
If I dynamically add components to a JPanel (causing it to grow in length e.g. Flowlayout) that is inside a JScrollPane how can I detect and adjust the JScrollPane knobs so that they show the complete JPanel.
I know that if I set the JPanel's preferred size it will do this, but how do I know what this size is? I don't want to have to track the size of the components I am adding to the JPanel and work it all out manually, there must be an easier way to do it.

JTable in JPanel last Column resize clips JTable doesnt repaint JPanel
I have a JTable in a JPanel, when I drag the last column of the JTableHeader (u can see the column resizing as the text of the Table HeaderColumn moves with the drag) the JTable is outside the JPanel. Only when u click on another component and then click back on the JTableHeader does it repaint.
I have tried jPanel.revalidate(); in the mouseDragged event of MouseMotionListener on the JTableHeader and all manner or repaints and fireTableStructureChanged. But I dont understand the order of events.
The last bug to fix!!!
NB I dont want to use scrollpane as its not necessary and as many tables are synchronized with one table it makes repaints less smooth
Thanks PaulWell, I didn't find an answer but I did find a solution.
The JPanel is the problem. I use it to help with layout which is not obvious in this example.
As you can see in the code the JTable is placed in a JScrollPane which is place in a JPanel which is placed in a JTabbedPane.
If I use Box instead of JPanel the JTable in the JScrollPane in the Box in the TabbedPane in the JFrame resizes correclty.
So although JPanel is resizable with setSize it does not get resized when it's JFrame gets resized.
I would still like to know why?

When alert is there, I am getting the ID of panel window and everything works fine.
But if I comment the alerts, its returning null. I dont know whats going wrong.
Kindly HelpIssue is, with the above code, I am not able to get the panel window ID.
As you'll can see in the javascript code, I have commented the alerts. Magically, if i uncomment one of the alerts, its able to find the ID.
Yes..!! I have tried this code by setting the clientComponent=true for the pop-up as well as panelWindow. But it didn't help.....

How do I stop iPhone Safari from dynamically resizing the visual viewport?
Sorry I post this here, but I couldn't access the developer forums (no error given, it just keeps returning me to this page https://developer.apple.com/devforums/) I'm not even sure wether that's been moved here and it's just the redirection non working.
I need to Stop iPhone Safari from dynamically resizing the visual viewport, or in other words, to stop it from trying to "fit" the layout into the viewport.
Why?
Because any recalculation javascript does on absolutely positioned elements makes the whole site super IRRESPONSIVE.
I don't know wether the issue is the element going out the already-set layout viewport (which triggers the page resizing to fit the visual viewport) or just the calculations being made constantly, but I can stop the calculations from happening when not "touching" the screen, but I need a way to stop the page resizing.
I tried setting the viewport width to 1040px, as my layout width, and it fixed the header's width being narrower than the body (or shifted left?), but the whole page is still resized with every motion-frame (one every 3 seconds, due to overloading the redrawing engine)

There's probably no way to do it, as per their way they "accidentally" omitted the oposite case: the page being wider than 980. They only mention what to do if the site is narrower. Something I learned is big companies (with reputation management) could let you run in circles for years no answer rather than telling you something is not possible.
I'm the developer (can't access the dev forums, don't know why) and I DID setup the viewport, scale and other properties but none of them stopped from re-fitting the new re-sized layout in the viewport. They just ensure the "initial" view.
I think the feature I'm looking for must be achieved with some JavaScript function targeting Safari-proprietary variable/property… if even possible.
I just had to make things never reaching the edge until somebody contributes something useful -

It's only an approach but try a call of validate() or repaint() after re-setting the size of your dialog.

Dynamically resize JTable cell to fit a JList
Hi!
I've been banging my head trying to add some dynamic behavior to a TableCellEditor. In short I'm trying trying to make it resize the height of the current row (the one it is in) to reflect the changes made to the JList used to let the user edit the cells value (which is a list of items).
I've come across some threads dealing with the problem of resizing a cell to fit its content. This however is usually only done once (in the 'getTableCellEditorComponent' function) and so only provides half the answer. Also, since the editor is only active during cell editing I've been trying to make it revert to the old cell height after the editing is done.
So far I have not come up with any decent solution to this problem and was hoping someone out there might have an idea or have read something similar and can point me to something helpful... anyone?

Dynamic system resolution for portal published BI content
I have a Dev-Tst-Prd ABAP stack BI landscape with a corresponding Dev-Tst-Prd Java stack portal landscape.
My BI developers create reports and webdynpro applications which are then published to our portal and made available via iViews. These iViews refer to the target applications via URLs which contain hardcoded hostnames and port numbers. This makes it a pain when portal content is transported from Dev to Tst and then to Prd.
All my BI systems are known by the SAP_BW alias. I have a different system definition in each portal for the SAP_BW alias pointing to the corresponding BI backend.
Can I use dynamic system resolution for this? If so, how?
I want a URL like http://<devhost.domain>:<devport>/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/appname to be transportable. Obviously if that starts out as http://dev.mycompany.com:8100/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/appname, it won't work when it arrives in tst where it needs to be http://tst.mycompany.com:8110/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/appname. If I could store the URL as something like http://<%JSP SAP_BW %>/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/appname this could be transportable if there was something in dynamic system resolution to resolve the variable appropriately at runtime in each system.

What finally worked?
Create a Portal Component iView of type com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap
Set URL Template to http://<System.wap.ITS.hostname>/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/zcs_wd_cc_app
Set System to SAP_BW (where SAP_BW is an alias for the System entry for the system where we want the WebDynpro app to run)

Where did the parameter value reference come from?
The "wap.ITS.hostname" attribute name came from the portal's system definition for SAP_BW. Under System Administration -> System Configuration -> System Landscape -> Portal Content the entry for the SAP_BW system can be displayed. In that system entry there is a field labelled SAP ITS host which contains the fully qualified hostname and port number for the ITS server delivering my application. Expanding the detail of this field (click the arrow head beside the name) shows its Property ID to be wap.ITS.hostname.
So this last answers my earlier question about where to find the valid contexts and attributes per context for the variables to substitute in the URL template. The contexts are the names of the fields available to configure the iView, the attributes are the Property IDs of the relevant information fields in the obect described by the context.
Note: This solution ended up only being required for WebDynpro content. The generated URL for WebDynpros appears to resolve any load-balance ITS URL to a specific host and port before publishing, the method here leaves the resolution until runtime - a great advantage in performance and flexibility.
The Web Application Designer published report content was generated in a transportable form already. -
How to dynamically resize virtualbox console (Arch within Arch setup)
My host is Arch, and my guest is Arch. The guest running console without X. I got 1024x728 resolution by adding vga=772 in guest's menu.1st file. Is there a way to dynamically resize the guest's console dimensions by dragging virtualbox's window corner, as you can with a windows guest OS?
Dynamic resizing only works from within X, it doesn't work when in console mode, as it requires the Guest Additions installed. It might of course work in the future if Virtualbox includes a framebuffer driver with guest additions, but somehow I very much doubt they will

This usually happens when the window is resized in order to fit the smaller content/intention for a webpage.
I would like Firefox to ignore the window resizing (down sizing) commands when opening a window in a new tab and just display the window in full size.Go into ''Tools > Options > Content'' and next to where it says ''Enable JavaScript'', click ''Advanced...''' and then untick ''Move or resize existing windows''.
This is the only way to do it. I believe there is a bug filed to prevent all sites (by default) from resizing the window if there are more tabs open, but I don't think it has been fixed. -
Dynamically resizing DefaultMutableTreeNode
Does anyone know how to resize a DefaultMutableTreeNode after it's been created and initially sized? I have a tree that can be resized, but if I dynamically resize it so that some nodes are wider than the tree, I'd like the last few visible characters within the nodes to be replaced by three dots "..." instead of just clipping the text. The JTable does this when you resize a column.

select * from TEST123 where Empid is NOT NULL and -1 = 1Although the syntax is valid -1 will never equal 1 so you will never get any data.
If you pass in 1,2 as a parameter then it is basically building the following:
select * from TEST123 where Empid is NOT NULL and -1 = 1,2This will cause an invalid number because it is trying to check where -1 = 1,2
You could always change your code to:

Only i shaw those parameters which i used in my stored procedure, the parameter which i create dynamic using stored procedure
is not shown to me when i referesh the report for viewing the results.
I have used the same procedure which i mention below but can not seen the last screen which is shown in this .

Dynamic Parameters in Action
My question is that whether dynamic parameter is working with storedprocedure or not.
When i added one table and try to fetch records using dyanmic prameters. after that i am not be able to find the dynamic parameter option when i referesh my report.
One more thing when i try the static parameter for my report, the option i see when i referesh the screen.

I have tested the issue step by step by following you description, while the first issue works well in my local environment. Based on my research, this can be caused by the lookup expression or it indeed return Male value based on the logic. If you use the
expression below, it will indeed only return the Male record. So please try to double-check the record in the two datasets and the expression in your environment:

As to the second issue, please try to use the following expression:

After installing a new version of Firefox, I get the error message "The procedure entry point JS_GetOperationLimit could not be located in the dynamic link library js3250.dll" when I try to start firefox. Elsewhere in the forum a complete reinstall is suggested; however, I can't do that because of my company's IT policies. Is there any way to solve this problem WITHOUT a complete reinstall? Thank you!
