DynamicConfiguration: Is parameter available to populate FTP details

Hi,
We can update Runtime parameters of adapters (like filename in case of File adapter) using DynamicConfiguration. I know, we have adapter-Specific message attributes for filename,directory available.
Do we have similar attributes available for the FTP details?

Adding to what prasad has already mentioned, all Adapter Specific Attributes are available irrespective of the Transport Protocol.

I'm new to SCM area. Started a development to update the SNP Planner Codes to the Product Master with some code. For this purpose, I'm using the standard bapi - BAPI_PRDSRVAPS_SAVEMULTI2. To use this, according to the documentation of the BAPI, I've passed the Internal Product number (PRODUCT_INT), also, I'm passing Internal Location (LOCATION_INT).
The tables that I'm updating are: PRODUCT_HEAD, PRODUCT_TEXT, PRODUCT_LOCATION.
With the kind of error I saw, I thought of assigning the Model also to the Product. So I've also populated the table : PRODUCT_MODEL with model = '000'.
When I run this BAPI, I get the below mentioned error.
E APO_BAPI 051 Entry was not processed because there is no changing parameter available
There could be another post belonging to the same, but I could not find it so posting this thread.

For each of these tables that you are trying to update PRODUCT_HEAD, PRODUCT_TEXT, PRODUCT_LOCATION, there will be corresponding X tables like PRODUCTHEAD_X, PRODUCT_TEXT_X, PRODUCT_LOCATION_X.
You will need to populate the particular fields in these X tables with value X so that the particular fields in tables PRODUCTHEAD, PRODUCT_TEXT, PRODUCT_LOCATION are processed.

non-linked files. I wouldn't trust using a site-sucker

Changing FTP details

Hi All,
We have a site that is edited by contribute users who connect
to the site using the contribute publishing server.
We have recently changed the FTP login details on our web
server and are now trying to chage them for the contribute
connection. The Problem is this:
Whenever we try to administer the site it tells us that the
ftp details are wrong and that we should check them however the
system will not let us administer the site to change the details!
Catch 22.
Does anyone know how to edit a site that is managed by the
publishing server but that contains invalid ftp details?
We could of course delete the site and rebuild the connection
but this situation has arisen before and I'd like to get to the
bottom of how to manage it.

so have not deleted the file Bridge4.plist file that you mentioned. I have had a quick look for it but could not locate it - where would it be?
This file is in the User Library preferences folder.
Quit Bridge. Navigate to your user account (your name) / library / preferences and inhere look for the file called: "com.adobe.bridge4.plist" (Bridge that comes with CS5 is in fact version 4, PS is version 12 in CS5)
manual delete this plist file to the trash and again hold down option key while restarting Bridge. Then choose reset preferences and try again. Also try a new custom setting for your upload location.
There will be probably also a file with this previous location in it but I don't know how to alter this and also not where it is because I never used Web Gallery upload myself. But if you want to look for yourself, the possible location for this would be in the same user library but then the folder Application Support/ Adobe/ Bridge CS5 / Adobe Output Module / Media Gallery.
You could try yourself to test by using upload for webgallery and then look in this folder for latest modification date. If you did find it you can also try to temporarily remove this file to the desktop and restart Bridge to see if either the file replaces itself (like it does with the previous mentioned plist file) or not. If not check if you are able to use Webgallery at all. If not just replace the previous file from the desktop to the original location and it should be all working as before

DW8 not holding FTP details on Windows 7?

I just reinstalled DW8 onto a windows 7 machine after replacing a dead hard drive, and now it won't hold onto any of the FTP details once I close out of DW and reopen it. I'm assuming it's keeping these criteria in the registry.. or would normally. Anyone see this before and know how to fix it???

You need the 8.0.2 update which addresses this problem.

That said, 8 was released way before Win7. If you can't upgrade to CS6, you might need to run DW8 in XP mode.

Dreamweaver not remember FTP details

Hi Guys,
I have a problem with dreamweaver at the moment. for some
reason its not remembering the user and pass in the FTP details of
each site. i looked through a couple of threads, and deleted that
temp file that was mentioned, but that didnt sort the problem.
i have windows vista home premium installed. i dont think
this is the problem because when i installed dreamweaver after i
installed vista, it remembered my ftp details without a problem.
the problem started happening about a week ago, and i cant think of
anything thats changed on my computer since that time.

What stops users from extracting the JAR, decompiling to get FTP details?

So I have made an applet to upload files to a server which uses FTp details. How can I stop them from getting the JAR file , extracting the files and decompiling the classes to get the FTP details.
When I sign the pplet, the process asks for a passwors, will the extraction process ask for this password?

From what I've seen the JAR file can be extracted easily with WinRar (or WinZip if you rename to .zip extension!). The signing just verifies that the contents of the jar haven't been changed by someone since it was created.
Heh it looks like we're working on the same problem...!
What I'm doing with my applet (based on the ZUpload applet from Sourceforge) is have it to read in the ftp connection params from an encrypted file. In my case the users are "semi trusted" so I am just trying to prevent someone casually lifting the ftp login and bypassing the applet. Obviously in theory someone could still decompile my classes and get the secret key then decrypt the params, but in my case this is unlikely to be a problem.
I'd love to hear if you find a better way!

Available stock information in detail

I have the following suggestion to improve the logistic part of SAP BO 200X.
When an article is on stock and there are purchase- or production orders, the salesorder only checks the TOTAL availability of the article.
Example. On stock Qty 100, the ordered Qty 200.Available stock is Qty 300.
A customer order is Qty 300 and will be accepted because the available stock is Qty 300, but if the customer wants to know when these goods will be delivered there is no direct answer possible, unless the production or delivery date is known.
(To find this information you need to do some exploring in divers other programs!)
This is nessessary for the planning of the delivery date of this sales order, but also for the customer to inform him correctly.
Proposed solution:
-Make a button in the (marketing document) order line to display the detailed purchase- or productionorder.
-Change the current calculation of the available stock and give more detailed information.
Detail information should be at least: DocEntry; Qty ;Production or Delivery date.

We have a small add-on for this functionality. The basic overview of the add-on is:
It has a button/context Menu on the Sales Order Entry screen where user can select the Item in the detail grid and click the button / context menu this should populate the screen display the list of Open POs with DocEntry / Open QTY along with delivery date.
This displays the details but there could be Committed Value that would need to be considered say for example
In Stock is 100
Committed is 200
Ordered is - 300
Actual is - 200
So Committed value has consumed the 100 Qtys from In Stock and 100 QTYs from Ordered. Say we have 3 Purchase / Production order each of QTY 100, so one needs to inform user that he can only use 2 purchase orders while committing the customers. For this we have one more column to the list that will show the QTY committed against the sales order if the committed value is greater than In Stock Value.

What we had done was, we placed a button on the screen and on clicking the button it would display the list of sales orders (Order Number / Customer/ Delivary date / Whse / QTY / Price) that had this item ordered from the selected warehouse (row in the Grid).

How to populate address details in IDOC

HI,
I am creating customer master using OILDEB06 IDOC.
However I dont see the fields like SMTP_ADDR, SORT1, Street 5 etc in the idoc segments.
How do I pass all the address details along with my IDOC.
Do I need to use some BAPI or am I missing something inMapping.

These are additional address fields which are part of 'Central Address Management'. Pasted below is the documentation associated with it. Basically, you need to add these separately.

There are additional address fields available due to linking the customer and vendor master and the respective contact persons to central address management. This additional address information is stored in central address management's own tables rather than being kept in the actual master tables (KNA1 for the customer master, LFA1 for the vendor master, KNVK for the contact persons).
A separate transfer run via the ALE interface is needed to transfer this additional address information. This run should be before the transfer run for master data.
See Transfer of address data.
If you use number ranges with internal number assignment when creating new customer and vendor masters, the number which is used to identify the master object in the system must be determined beforehand due to address information and master data being transferred separately.
You can determine the numbers using the following BAPIs:
BAPI_VENDOR_GETINTNUMBER (for the vendor master)
BAPI_CUSTOMER_GETINTNUMBER (for the customer master)

Passing file read location as a parameter or dynamica to FTP write adapter.

Hi All,
We have a requirement to FTP files to a location. We are planning to use FTP adapter in SOA 11g.
But our requirement is to pass the file read location as a parameter as in case of failure we are planning to read file from the archive location.
But FTP location to which file is written or ftped will always remain constant. Only the read location from which this file is picked needs to be dynamic.
Any pointers on this will be of great help.

Hi,
In 11g we can pass filename and directory name at runtime through properties on receive activity.
If you double click on the Receive activity (connecting to file Adapter), then on Properties tab, you will find three properties jca.file.Directory, jca.file.Filename and jca.file.Size. Select the property which ever you want and assign variable/expression to it.
Value assigned to Variable can be passed runtime as an input to the process.

Get in touch, personally, with the server administrator of that remote server to which you are trying to connect.
Unless that guy is also on SDN and willing to share the details for 10 points
Host is IP address of remote server , user / password would be the user / password of remote server.
RFC destination ..check there should be a RFC destniation in Xn SM59 for your SAP application server.
use that or create a new one if you like.
I think you can copy SAPFTP RFC destination and make it for application server.

How is the -gm parameter effecting query runtime in detail?

During test I found out, that the parameter -gm seems to have some dramatic impact onto runtime of queries. In Detail I found a something like factor 0.5 to 0.6 inside my tests for a smaller system:
-iqtc 12000
-iqmc 12000
-iqlm 1000
-gm 100
-m
-iqrlvmem 6000
When setting -gm 1001, runtimes for a single query goes up from about 10 to about 40s.
So how is the -gm parameter effecting IQ in detail?

When IQ starts it allocates threads based on the -iqmt parameter. If you don't set it, then it is computed as something like:
     -- 60 threads for each core up to 4
     -- 50 threads for each core after 4
     -- number of connections (-gm option)
     -- add 6 more just for good measure
Let's assume that your IQ instance has 16 cores and you have -gm set to 100 . IQ would allocate 946 threads (60*4+50*12+100+6). We have to add 1 more thread to this, too. Before we can allocate threads, we have 1 thread that is running to start the server.
On my 16 core system, here are the threads allocated at startup for various values of -gm:
     -gn 10: 857 threads
     -gn 100: 947 threads (notice the +1 from the above algorithm?)
     -gn 1000: 1847 total threads
There are two major deductions from the thread total: IO threads and SA/user threads.
Of the threads, 40% are supposed to be held in reserve to handle IO tasks (sweeper and prefetch threads are set to 10% each and apply to main and temp cache) via the Prefetch_Threads_Percent and Sweeper_Threads_Percent options. I am double checking this area just to make sure. There was some work done on this in the v16 timeline.
For user threads, I don't see you having set -gn. Assuming that -gn is not set, then IQ will reserve 5 + -gm threads (105). Not a problem. IQ will grab 5 more threads than are allocated via the above algorithm, but that's OK.
Things go a bit wrong on you when your -gn is set to the recommended value of 1.5 * -gm. What happens is that we are computing the number of threads needed based on -gm (100 or 1000). However, we are actually allocating threads based on -gm (105, 1005, 150, or 1500 depending on the default or best practices used).
Imagine that -gn is set to 1.5x -gm. Of the 1847 threads allocated, 1500 are held in reserve for user connections. Read that as threads for the catalog only. There would be just 347 threads left over. But don't forget the IO threads either. Now all of a sudden there are no threads left for any work in IQ. We are thread starved. When IQ gets into a thread starvation mode, we have little or no threads left over to do work in IQ. At that time, we use the one guaranteed thread that each user connection has to do all work. This holds true for worker thread starvation as well as IO thread starvation.
One of two things is happening in your case. You are either thread starved and forced to run everything single threaded or your system has so many threads that it must spend too much time maintaining threads that are not being used.
If you can run sp_iqsysmon in '-debug' mode you can look at the "Thread Manager" section to check out the thread usage and allocations.

Can we populate the IB Installation Details screen (IB Transaction) details automatically, while creating an order through order import?
My requirement is to create an IB Transaction automatically i.e populate CSI_T_TXN_LINE_DETAILS while importing the order.
I got below records in oe_lines_iface_all
1. IB_OWNER
2.ib_location
3. ib_installation_location.
However, these do not seem to be creating IB transactions.

The WEB download load is so slow...... to download the 200K plus file (470_b050_english.exe) , like over 6 hrs at 9k/sec. FTP is faster if available.
