Dyndns providers on WRP400

Cisco routers have two Dyndns providers.
Since Dyndns.com is no longer free, TZO too.
Do Cisco make an Upgrade with new free dyndns providers (like no-ip.com)?.
I have WRP400 router and BEFW11S4.
Must We Pay for DynDns with Cisco/Linksys

Apple do not have a standard client ddns available.. it is hidden so you have to use BTMM and iCloud service..
The method suggested by edex67 is experimental and requires several things most people will have no desire to setup.
First, let’s make sure you have all of the requirements for dynamic DNS in the AirPort in place:
A domain name of your own (e.g., example.com)… if you don’t have one, register one now.
Dyn Standard DNS service, fully configured for your domain… if you don’t have it,purchase now.
An Apple AirPort Extreme, Apple AirPort Express, or Apple Time Capsule device.
A computer running the AirPort Utility (v5.4.2 to v5.5.3).
In other words you have to own a domain and pay the fees,, and then use a ddns link to it.
The easy fix is to relegate the TC to bridge and use a standard router.. 99% of routers made today have ddns service clients available .. and usually to several services. Then simply port forward to the TC whatever access you want.. or roll over and use icloud as Apple clearly want you to do.

  • How can i configure a dynamic dns at a time machine

    Hi All,
I have a time machine at home, with Airport Utility version 6.1.
I'm currently trying to configure a dynamic dns at the airport itself but I don't have any luck in finding the functionality to do so. Couple of questions:
      1) Do I really have to install the previous versions 5.6 Airport Utility to configure DDNS?
      2) I assume if I can't use the previous versions of Airport Utility then I would need to use a Dynamic Update Client. My No-IP Dynamic Update Client doesn't seem to be running on MAC OS X Mountain Lion. Is there any other developers that provides a domain for free and the DUC is actually working on OS X Mountain Lion? (E.g. I heard that DysDNS doesn't provide an entirely free service anymore)

I think you mean Time Capsule not time machine.. TC is the hardware .. TM is the software backup program in the computer and has nought to do with DDNS.
There is no DDNS client in the TC.. never has been. Apple must have some private system for icloud to work.. but no access is allowed to it by users. As with all things apple it is designed to ensure you are able to use icloud or nothing.
I am not on ML or even Lion.. good old SL is fine to me.. and far better networking.
I presume some of the dyndns providers will offer a client for ML now..
All of the free services are trying to sell you something.. and constantly harras you.. no free lunch in this world.
The easiest method and to escape the upgrade cycle.. just get another router.. almost every router in the world provides several dyndns clients built in. The router is where this should be done. so the computer can stay off. Just bridge the TC and port forward to it. Simple and cheap.

  • Help with Mail Server Setup/DynDNS

I don't have a static IP so I setup an account/registered a domain with DynDNS. The test site is hosted fine via Leopard Server. However, I am trying to setup a mail server to no avail. Configured Mail Server through the assistant and ended up with these settings: domain name - performa460.com hostname - mail.performa460.com POP, IMAP, and SMTP all enabled. Setup a user in workgroup manager and enabled mail. Still Cannot access mail through Mail.app and no users are listed on the Maintenance/Accounts pane. Obviously I'm new to this and need to be pointed in the right direction. Any help is apreciated; thanks!

DynDNS's base service won't work for you if you want to use your own full domain name unless you use their Custom DNS paid service. I'm assuming this is something you've already done. If so, you need to configure both the host name and the MX records for your domain to point to the right places. You'll need to set up DynDNS name servers through whatever domain registrar you use and then configure the CustomDNS service through DynDNS's web interface. Once you can successfully connect using a web browser, then look into your mail settings.
However, depending on what provider you're using for your broadband, you may have the mail ports blocked by your ISP and/or in your cablemodem/router. Be sure to open 25 and 587 and any other ports you intend to use.
Finally, you may find that even if you've configured everything correctly, other providers will refuse your mail as spam (google, yahoo, etc) because your IP address is on a "residential subnet" or because your forward and reverse DNS don't match. That means you'll need a mail reflector to bounce your mail off of with a proper IP. DynDNS has inbound and outbound mailhop services that you can use for an additional fee.
Bottom line is, because spambots inhabit a lot of dynamic IP blocks, you have to jump through a ton of hoops to get it working reliably.

  • Has anyone Been Able to Successfully Access the WVC54GC Cam via DynDNS.

I have been working on getting this camera for over a week now trying to get it to be accessable on the internet via DynDNS service with no luck.  I have also tried other Dynamic DNS service providers like NO-IP and had no luck as well.
I already have an account with DynDNS and do not want to use the Linksys Sololink service and pay another fee.  I called Linksys support and they notified me that this camera is only accessable on the internet via the Sololink Service.
Is this true has anyone figured out a way to use this with another service provider.
Pls. let me know.   I bought 8 of these camera strickly to be able to monitor my place of business via the internet.  If can not get this darn camera to work with DynDNS I will return them all.
    Thanks.

    HI...
You can try the following steps.
The camera will definitely work with DynDNS. Follow the following steps.
Access the camera setup page. Click on the tab that says "Options".
The Alternate Port should be set to enable and specify the port number that you wish to use. Default Port number is 1024. Apply the changes that we have made.
Now on  the router setup page forward the same port number for the camera IP address.
Now when you use the DynDNS domain name use it as http://DynDNSDomainname:1024 and this will lead you to the camera over the Web.
In case you are using eight different camera........use a different port number and also a different IP address for each of the camera and specify the same on the router.
You can also refer to the following link to setup DynDNS with the linksys camera.
Click here to get to the link.

Clearly this is too late to help you, but since this is showing up on Google and there are about a thousand views, this answer might be helpful to another.
Once you access the Voice Admin menu and provision your device for your VoIP provider, access to the Voice menu is subsequently "Locked".
Your VoiP provider's system has set a new unique password for the Voice menu once the provisioned device has synced with your providers system.
You should be able to get that password from the control panel on you VoIP account profile under "equipment" or a call to support or an e-mail request should garner the password.
The Login will be "admin" and the password provided will get you back into Voice menu system.
You will also need this password if you want to reset the Voice features back to factory defaults.  Because of this system it appears that a WRP400 cannot be unlocked by merely using the reset button.

  • Linksys WRP400 Voice Configuration

    Hi.
I've just purchased a Linksys WRP400 Wireless-G Broadband Router with 2 phone ports (to replace a Billion voip wireless router which has ceased to function). I'm having trouble trying to work out how to set up the voip connection to my voip provider. Firstly, I can't login into the voice screens. On first attempt at configuring the router I could see the voice screens, but couldn't see anywhere to enter the sip web address - I saw the user password box and keyed one in thinking I needed to change it from the default to unlock some additional screens. Now, when I try to view the voice screens I just get prompted for a user name and password where I've entered "admin" and the password I entered previously - which are rejected. I've since reset the device to the factory defaults but I still get prompted for the user name and password. I enter "admin"/"admin" but it still fails to get any further. I've looked in the online user guide hoping it might tell me how to reset this password but couldn't find anything. The user guide talks about entering a voice user name and password supplied by my service provider? I'm confused by this - is it talking about my broadband internet provider? My internet provider is not my voip provider. My voip provider has given me an account, user id and password, but how is the device going to confirm these details without being told the sip details? I thought the Billion config was complicated and I was hoping this device might be much simpler - but not so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

  • DDNS error on WRP400 with firmware version: 2.00.26

I have recently upgraded my WRP400 with the latest firmware (2.00.26) and found that the DDNS updating function with dyndns.org is stopped.
I made tests with the previous firmwares (2.00.20 and even with the old 1.01.00) and DDNS updating works with these older firmwares and stops immediately when the new 2.00.26 firmware is applied.
The reason why I need to upgrade to the latest fw, because I have the very annoying issue with the WRP400's stoppages. The release notes for the .26 firmware tells this is fixed now. btw, after the fw update it has stopped only once in 3 days...(!) but this is far better than the daily 2 or more stops...
I need the DDNS service, and I want a stop-free router at the same time. I know, our world is not that easy today, but please...

    Hi Szabolcs,
I do have the same problem.
I do use more them 10 WRP400 devices, and I am still using fw 2.00.20 due to the DDNS problem.
WRP400 could be a very nice device, but it simply doesn't performs as it should. And in my opinion, the list of supported USB modems is simply to short.
I am already considering chaning from supplier and try to find a different and working solution in the market.
I also found out that the router, from time to time need to be reseted (it simply stops performing as it should). So, as there is no auto reset option, I need o use Plug In Timers to reset them once every day.
So, as you can see, I also would like to see a solution for this problem...

  • WVC80N and DynDNS

Just got two of the WVC80N's, and I'm trying to set up the DDNS service (using the free DynDNS).  I have it set up on a couple of of my older WVC54 cameras, as well as my WVC210....but when I go through the settings TZO is automatically set as the DDNS service, and it doesn't give you the option to select a different one.  Do I need to possibly upgrade the firmware or is there something I'm missing?

So how do I set up the DYNDNS manually?  I am really frustrated....the camera only allows TZO and my router from my ISP only allows four Dynamic DNS providers but DOES NOT include TZO......I can't change the ISP router so I have to get the camera to accept another Dynamic DNS that isn't TZO....Please help.

  • SAPRouter and Dyndns

    Hi,
is it possible to work with a dynamic IP (from providers like DynDns or No-IP) in the SAPRouter?
    Anything like this:
    P  <myNo-ip>  <Dest Host>
    Thanks in advance
    Best Regards

    > Can someone help me to provide some good reasons to ensure SAPROUTER is important to every SAP system installation, and most important to Solution Manager?
SAProuter is necessary to enable the SAP support connect to your systems. Without an installed saprouter (one is enough, not one for each system) the support can't connect to your systems and hence can't help.
If you read your SAP support contract (you signed) you will see that an installed and working saprouter is part of it.

  • WVC54GC setup Guide for Dynamic IP providers

    Hi,
after serveral weeks reading various post,  I finally get the solution, works for me,  with dynamic ip providers for D-link DI 524 router.
I will try   to resume it :
1- Download latest setup program of the camera from linksys site. The one  provided in the CD  with the camera is not the latest versions, and some times doesn`t  detect the camera when conected to the router.
2- Conect the camera  to the router  by  the network cable provided. Check if the router led from the port you conected the camera is  on, sometimes the cable provided  is not always ok, I had to change the cable.
3-When conected, run the set up program  downloaded.
4- Get to the step where it ask for Dynamic or Static Ip adress.  Mark Static IP adress, and then you have to note the camera IP adress, you will use it later  when configuring port forwarding on your router.
5- Don´t continue with the setup, just close it. You will enter to the setup program directly entering the ip adress you noted , on internet explorer. Type  the ip adress on the I.E adress, my case: 192.168.0.13
6- You get in to the  built-in setup program of the camera, tipe  the default user and password admin; admin / you can change it later id you desire)
    7. on the  section setup/basic/configuration type: choose static ip adress. then you have to enter the following info.
-Ip Adress: your camera ip adress
    -subnet mask: usually 255.255.255.0
Gateway: your router IP adress , my case 192.168.0.1 , you can check it at the status page entering your router configurations.
-Primary DNS: same ones that appears on your router  configurations status.
    -Secondary DNS: same as before.
    -SSID: your router identification
    -Network type: set infrastructure.
    -Channel Nº: set to Auto
-Security:  enter to edit security settings, there  you  choose  your WIFI settings for your router,  security mode ( My case WEP)  TX Key , choose 1; encryption mode  64 or 128 depending on your router configuration; passphrase ( i leave it blank); key 1; enter your  key   you usually use when you conect yo your WIFI network.; Authentification: my case open system
Note: Always click the aplly button when you  finished to  enter all the info in each screen.
8- After clicking the aply button on each screen, go to the options section at your left.
9-There you can active the   movement detection mail, you can do this later, but remember to provide the mail  POP servers and SMTP servers from your network provider if you have a mail from your network provider.
10- enable UPnp and alternate port
11-select por number, use higher port number over 20.000 to 60.000 ( some ports are blocked by your network provider)
that its for configuring the camera, we will return later,  to configure  dydns.org ( dns checker as sololynk but free)
12- Now  the port forwarding part on your router.
13- Enter your router configuration, entering on I.E.   ususally 192.168.0.1, enter the  user and passowrd to enter the configuration section.
14-Go to home on the upper section of the page, then to DHCP  at your left.   enable DHCP server.
15-starting ip adress set   one different from the one of your router ; ex: my router 192.168.0.1,  starting ip adress 192.168.0.2.
16- Ending ip adress set  the number you like, my case 192.168.0.20. then I have  from 2 to 20 ip adress thar the router will asigne for differents  elements conected to your network ( PC-Cameras-Notebook-Etc...)
17-Lease  time: 1 week.  then click apply.
18- then go to the advanced section on the top of the page, then go to virtual server.  check enabled, Add a name to your camera ( you will use it later for other configurations) and add the ip adress of your camera , my case 192.168.0.13 on private ip.
19- Add the port yhou choose it  ( the one between 20000 to 60000)  put it on both public and private ports. On protocol type  select  both. on shedule check always. Click apply.
20-Go to DMZ at your left, and  enter your camera ip to the demilitarized zone, in order to be viewed from the internet.
Now you have to create an account on http://www.dyndns.com/.  follow the instructions of the site.
after finishing to register,  create a  host service, follow the instructions. you have to choose a host name  ex.  yourname.dyndns.org
service type: host with ip adress
on ip adress  enter your WAN Ip adress form your router   on status page. ( you can also check it on http://www.whatismyip.com/)
mail routing I leaved it blank in my case.
save changes, and you are ok, on dynds.  by this site   you will able to access your camera form any part on internet  despite your provider change  the ip adress and dns.
21- Now return to your router configuration page. Go to DDNS yo your left , there adds the same info from your dyndns account. DDNS  enable, your host name, the provider ( dyndns.org)  , user name and password. then click apply.  You are now ok with router configuration.
22- Now return to the camera coniguration. Try this in order to check if  it is conected to your wifi network.  unplug  the LAN cable  from the camera to the router,  turn off the camera   by disconecting from power line. wait 5 sec. then  turn on again, an wait until the light stop blinking.  then  from the pc you are connected to the lan,  get in to the camera typing  the camera ip adress, my case 192.168.0.1 on I.E.  then you should enter the setup page. If not,  you have to check  the wifi  configuration of the camera, or  you also should do it  with the setup program you downloaded  but this time use  dynamic ip adress instead of static ( this only for the purpose of getting to the WIFI network, then you have to return to your camera configuration and re-do the static  ip adress process. You don have to do again the  wifi setup   doing it this way)
23-If you where able to access your camera configuration page  by wifi,  enter to it, and go to setup/sololink  page.
24- on user name put youor dyndns username; on passowrd same one of dynds site. your domain  enter  yourname.dyndns.org or the one you choose it. The device name,   in my case camera.  WAN port enter  the one you choose it between 20.000 and 60.000. choose a DDNS Service Update: my case  4 hrs.  then don´t click apply, just click update now,  to the right. This is beacuse  the  linkys  don´t allow  other ddns site than sololynk, but this trick  allow to do it.
you can quit now the configuration page of your camera....
now in order yo check if everithing is working, you have to  access internet from a PC different from your network,( call a friend or go to a public internet pc) and then  type     on I.E  adress,   yourname.dyndns.org:"port number you choose it 20000-60000)  my case     myname.dyndns.org: 25000
you may now access the camera throw any part from internet!
    good luck...and patience..

    now that's genius!

  • Linksys WRP400

Hi everyone I have a Linksys WRP400 wireless router with VOIP.
Very recently i have had problems with admin access.
(During setup i change the default username and password as suggested by Linksys to one of my own username and password choices).
After changing the username and password i can setup the rest of the router fine and then log out.
But if i try to log in it won't accept the username and password that i have set nor will it accept the default username and password.
For me to get back into the router i have to soft reset it using the reset button on the back
i have tried to do a hard reset using the reset function in the routers firmware but the router asks me for my internet service providers username and password which i can’t supply as I got the router second-hand
Is there any way to reset the router without the isp username and password
    Thanks in advance Tim R

Try Opera or FF? If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, set compatibility mode and test again.
Disable any security browser Add-ons like No Script and Ad-Block or configure them to allow All Pages when connected to the router.
    Clear all browser caches.
Be sure to log into the Admin account on the router.
Try turning off these features in Chrome:
Top right corner, little bars for options > Settings > Settings (on left) > Show advanced settings.
    Uncheck these:
Use a web service to help resolve navigation errors
Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar
Predict network actions to improve page load performance
    Enable phishing and malware protection

  • How to create a report to bring all data from two different Info providers

    Hi All,
I have a peculier problem while creating a report. I have two custom info providers one DSO and another Cube. There are only two common fields between these two Info providers . I need to create a report such that the report displays all the values from DSO but user can have the selection option on one of the fields in the Cube.
    Here is an example
    DSO Contents:
    DocNum-     DocItem-     DocText-     Amount-      Quantity
    10000----     10----            ABC----          100----           10
    10001----     20----     DSN----     200----     10
    10005----     20----     DSN----     200----     10
    Z1003----     10----     CAN----     500----     1
    Cube Contents
    DocNum-     DocItem-     Date-----          InvoiceAmt
    10000----     10----     1/10/2009----         50
    10001----     20----      2/20/2009----        100
    10005----     20----      2/25/2009----        100
The report needs to be displayed as shown below when the user selects value for date from 1/10/2009 to 2/20/2009
    DocNum-     DocItem-     DocText-     Amount-      Quantity
    10000----     10----     ABC----     100----     10
    10001----     20----     DSN----     200----     10
I hope this was clear for you to understand. I would really appricate if any one can answers about how to resolve this problem. I cannot add the date filed to DSO and I also have Doc Num and Item as the user selection fields in the report.
Thank you all in advance and i would really appreciate for your suggestions.

    Hi chinna,
Two possible options, I can think of now, but both of them may be a compromise with performance.
    1. create an infoset and then a query on top of it, provided we have a one to one relation in both the targets. That is, the combination of doc and item number is not duplicate in either cube or ODS.
    2. Create a master data object of doc and item number and have date as an attribute. Load that from cube data and make date as navigational attr.
Use this navgntal attr for selection in your report.
Let us know, if you require any further info.

  • Unable To See Network Drive from outside Home Network..even when using DynDNS

    Hi
I have just got a Freecom Media storage Network Center which I have attached to my WRT150N router.
I am attemting to permit access to authorised users to files on the drive via the internet (presumably via ftp).
Here is what I have done:
Swiitched on DynDNS on the web admin page in the router (used DynDNS.com free service.
Obtained a user addess which is middle-earth.dyndns-home.com from DynDNS, which is linked to my Virgin Media IP
Switched on Port Range forwarding with
    Ports 20-21 as ftp
    Port 80 as http
    Port 57 as DNS
    Selected "both protocols"
Set the IP address to route to 192.168.1.42 - (this is the IP address which the web based software for the Network Drive reports as.
However the configuration of the TCP/IP protocol in PC attached by LAN cable to the router is "Obtain an IP address automatically" (i.e. dynamic?).  If I change these settings and specify static IP addresses   will I not muck up internet connection to Virgin Media.
what I was hoping to acheive was typing     ftp:// middle-earth.dyndns-home.com
in the address bar would let me see the network drive from anywhere!
I have tried using DNS pinging on Ports 20, and 21 but that tells my ports are closed.  i have also tried switching off my software firewall (Kaspersky) and the router firewall, but this does nothing.
What have I done wrong or no done!!
    Thanks

I think the problem is solved.
The Freecom device needs to use a different part of its interface to be assigned a static IP address, which I have now done.  At my last try it was visible from two independent views outside of my network.
On another front, I am appalled at Linksys or Cisco, who are not prepared to advice on getting more from their produicts if they are 'out of warranty'.  The online chat tech said I could ring an 0871 premium line number in the UK.  When I rang that, I was told as tthat as my unit is not faulty and was out of warranty I would have to use their pay per incident  service.
That is not a way to deal with customers.  When it comes to upgrading or replacing network equipment, I will look to a provider who is interested in their customers.

  • Web Application and Custom JavaMail Providers

We have a web application that uses custom JavaMail Providers on Weblogic 7.0.
The structure of the WAR file is as follows:
    |-WEB-INF
    |-lib
    |-activation.jar
    |-mail.jar (as provided by Sun for JavaMail 1.2)
    |-custommail.jar (custom JavaMail providers)
    |-... (other jars for web application).
Now the JavaMail Session object cannot find the custom providers as it appears the Web Container is loading the JavaMail classes (Session) from the WebLogic.jar instead of mail.jar from the web application's lib directory.
How can I configure the web application to load classes from the mail.jar in the applications lib directory?.
This configuration works on Tomcat 4.0.4.
    Vikash

This is standard behavior in WebLogic - the child classloader (the
classloader for the web applicaiton) will always
delegate to the parent classloader (the system classloader), and so it will
alwyas find the ones included in weblogic.jar
    first.
You can get around this in two ways:
    a) Put the classes in weblogic's classpath (Before weblogic.jar)
    b) You can set the "Prefer Web-Inf Classes" attribute of a web application
    (see Admin console).
In this case the web application classloader will not delegate, but
    always look locally first.
Just be careful in this scenario not to pass an object created by the
    web applicatino classloader to say
an EJB. ie. don't pass a mail session object, as then you'll get a
    classcastexception.
