Dynex 32" LCD Channel Display Blinking constantly

I have a year old 32" Dynex LCD and today the "display" (the small box in the upper right that shows the channel info started blinking constatly and goes away momentarily then starts blinking again. I can't use any buttons on the remote or the side of the TV while it is blinking, also if I go to a menu while it is not blinking that menu ends up blinking constantly. Its quite annoying. Any suggestions???

  • 17" LCD Cinema Display does not work on G4 Tower with ATI 9000

    Hi,
I have a G4 Tower with the original AGP ATI Radeon 9000B video card. My friend gave me this unit just recently but not the original monitor. Well after he got his new 30" Cinema Display he gave me the original 17"LCD Cinema Display. I was so happy, plugged it into the card and fired up the CPU but nothing! just blank! It is not getting any power for the USB ports or anything. My buddy says the monitor was checked before I picked it up. I yanked the Video card out and put it back in, inside the CPU was clean as was the card, put it back together and still nothing. The VGA monitor I have is connected via adapter to the other input and works fine. I tried doing display settings and the Cinema is not even detected. Is the Video card fried on the digital side?
Do I need a new one?
Here is the info on the CPU:
Machine Model: Power Mac G4 (AGP graphics)
    CPU Type: PowerPC G4 (2.9)
    Number Of CPUs: 1
    CPU Speed: 400 MHz
L2 Cache (per CPU): 1 MB
    Memory: 1.5 GB
    Bus Speed: 100 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: 4.2.8f1
    Serial Number: XB0120xxxxx
    Any help wold be appreciated.

    Hi MFG,
    Welcome to the discussions.
The G4 AGP Graphics model originally shipped with an ATY Rage 128 graphics card. The ATI Radeon 9000 graphics card that is installed in your G4 is not the original card.
The ATI Radeon 9000 comes with a native ADC port (which you are trying to use). This port is only fully functional if the computer is ADC enabled. Your model of G4 is, unfortunately, not ADC enabled.
You can confirm this by opening the computer and having a look at the AGP slot (where the graphics card is installed). In ADC enabled Macs, there is an extra slot at one end of the AGP slot to accomodate an "extra leg" that the ADC graphics cards (such as the ATI 9000) have. This extra leg supplies the power and USB feed. You'll probably find this extra leg with no slot for it to go into.
What this means is that you are not getting power and USB feed through the ADC port to your display.
If you want to get the 17" ADC Apple LCD display working off this card (it's definitely the LCD display and not the CRT display, please confirm), you will need to use a DVI to ADC adaptor such as this one:
    http://www.drbott.com/prod/db.lasso?code=0111-DVAD
and run it off the DVI output.
You can run your VGA screen at the same time (if you want to) off the ADC output by using this adaptor:
    http://www.drbott.com/prod/db.lasso?code=0117-ADCV
This will work off the ADC port because, although the ADC port is not getting USB or power feed, it's still getting the DVI feed (which is what this adaptor needs).
    Cheers!

  • External display blinking on Macbook Pro Late 2008.

    Hello,
    Firstly, computer specs:
    Macbook Pro, 15-inch, Late 2008
    GPU: GeForce 9400M / 9600M GT
    8 GB RAM
    320 GB Hard Drive
    On Mavericks v10.9.3
I want to connect my computer to my TV via a mini displayport to HDMI adapter, for gaming purposes. As such, I want to use the 9600M GT as my GPU. However, when I am in High Performance mode (which uses that GPU), the TV screen blinks on and off every couple of seconds. I have tried resetting my PRAM, which failed. I know it is not the adapter, because it functions when used on another laptop. I know it isn't my port because it works when in Battery Saving (using 9400M GPU). Can anyone help?
    In short:
    Late 2008 15-inch Macbook Pro, GeForce 9400M / 9600M GT
Mini displayport to HDMI functions when on Battery Saving (GPU = GeForce 9400M)
However, external display blinks on and off when on High Performance (GPU = GeForce 9600M GT)

    Hi mjbecker2,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities!
The article linked below has some tips that  may help you resolve the flickering issue that you are seeing on your TV.
Apple computers: Troubleshooting issues with video on internal or external displays
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1573
No video or no signal, image distortion, "snow," or flickering
    Check connections
When using an external display be sure to check the following:
If you're using an Apple notebook, confirm the AC power cable or adapter is securely connected to the computer and the cable providing power to the display is also secure. It is always good to have your notebook connected to AC power when an external display is in use.
Confirm display adapters are fully seated in their respective connections and that they are supported models and for the computer and display. Refer to these articles to assist you with adapter compatibility and further configuration information:
    Monitor and Display Adapter Table
About Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapters
Apple Mini DisplayPort adapters: Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Thunderbolt ports and displays: Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Remove all display cable extenders, KVM switches, or other like devices and retest to determine if the issue is resolved.
Try unplugging the video adapter or cable and then plug it back in.
If more than one video adapter is in use (or "daisy-chained"), troubleshoot by using only one adapter.
Example: A mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter connected to a DVI to HDMI adapter is an unsupported configuration because there is a series of adapters in use.
If available, try using a different display and or adapter (or use a different connector by using DVI instead of VGA, for instance).
    Cheers!

  • Dynex 40" LCD TV has flashes of light on screen

We recently purchased a Dynex 40" LCD DX-L40-10A LCD TV.   We have a problem with the screen jumping a bit and also have white flashes of light.  When watching a movie or tv show, the screen flashes to the point where we originally thought the movie had "heat lightening" in the background and it was supposed to be that way.  Now we see it happens 75% of the time but not all the time.  It almost seems like the flashes happen in relation to sound.  I have tried adjusting all the sound settings and video settings as well but have not been successful.  I guess I am hoping for a solution here instead of packing up the tv and bringing it back to Best Buy.  Aside from that issue, we like the t.v.  Any help would be appreciated.   Thanks.

Found the problem was the HDMI cable.  Disconnected the Insignia brand HDMI cable, switched input on tv over to component 1 and the screen is fine.  Crystal clear and steady with no more jumpiness and flashing.  The sound is not as good now but we can connect our Bose radio up to the tv.  We are satisfied with not using the HDMI cable but may decide to try a different type in the future.  So happy we don't have to return the tv.

  • Mighty Mouse problem with duo core intel mac mini & 26" LCD/TV display

I have an Olevia 26" LCD/TV display connected to my Intel Duo core mac mini and I have been using a Mighty Mouse with it from the start but all of a sudden the mouse pointer will not come out of the upper right corner. It moves out a little and then pops back into the corner.
I connected the Mighty Mouse to my g4 PowerBook and it tracks and scrolls fine. I've also cleaned it and tried it on a solid, dark service while connected to the mac mini and those things don't help either.
Any suggestions anyone. I've been using the Mighty Mouse for months and I love especially the ability to scroll horizonitally as I use Final Cut Pro and that features is GREAT in the timeline window.
I can't seem to find anything here in the discussions specifcally with this issue so any guidance would be appreciated!

    hi there--
if all is fine on the install disk, run disk repair http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302672. if not, i would reset the open firmware. do this by holding apple-option-o-f on keyboard while you start up and you get a screen that says "welcome to open firmware". type in following commands, without quotations-- "reset-nvram" (hit return) and "reset-all" (hit return). second command restarts the computer. good luck.[:)]

  • Display moves constantly unless cursor is on right hand side

I have a MacBook that I purchased in July 2007. I haven't seen this issue posted anywhere else and I'm trying to determine what has caused it.
The display shifts constantly and rapidly unless my cursor is on the right third of the screen. The shift is horizontal only.
It happens as soon as it is finished booting. This has caused the machine to be essentially unusable.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    FatBear68

    Stefan,
Thanks for the answer. It didn't completely fix the problem but led me in the right direction. I did some more investigation on universal access and zoom. When I turned the zoom off, the problem still existed. I turned zoom on and zoomed in a little and the screen stopped shaking. The display is now larger than the actual screen dimension which is a bit of a pain but at least it's usable now.

  • B320 Display Blinking

After inactivity, my B320 frequently enters a state where the display blinks ON and OFF with an approx 1sec interval.  During this state, the PC appears to be usable (mouse, keyboard, etc work fine...) its just not practically usable.  The LEDs in the bevel at the lower right corner of the screen also blink, but the HDD, BT and WIFI LEDs do not.
The only resolution I've found is restarting.
So far I have updated the Intel driver and tried different resolutions, to no avail.
I'm not entirely sure how to trigger this, but it consistently happens when the display turns off due to inactivity then I come back.
    This is a 6mo old refurb B320.
    Any thoughts?  Thanks, Nat

The problem just occurred while my B320 was in use, so it is not a result of inactivity.
Another user reported this problem, but it is unressolved: http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/IdeaCentre-Desktops-Home-Servers/Desktop-B320/m-p/768243/highlight/true#...

  • Dynex 32 LCD -Half of the picture goes green with a red band

Hello- I purchased a Dynex 32 LCD TV around Christmas and As a TV it was a great buy, however when I use it as a PC monitor using either DVI, VGA or HDMI connectors I get an intermittent issue with half of the screen. The right side of the screen (From the middle of the screen to the far right) will turn a light green, (almost like it goes 16 colors) and has a red veritical band from the top to the bottom of the screen. Sometimes turning the TV on and off will fix it, or changing pages on a web browser will cause it to go away, sometimes it just stays. Anyone heard of this issue? I use LCDs as monitors at work and I've never seen this happen before.

Sounds like it needs servicing.  If you bought it in September it should still be under the 1 yr manufacturer warranty.  You can bring it into the store with your receipt and have customer service send it to service for you.  It will be returned to the store and can be picked up when service is complete.  I will say, however, warranty service can be lengthy.  Expect to not have your TV for a few weeks.

  • Palm Pre Center Button Blinks Constantly

Ever since downloading the latest update, my center button blinks constantly when the phone is asleep.  When I turn it on the blinking stops.  When the  phone goes to sleep the blinking doesn't start right away, it takes a few minutes, but then it blinks twice every 3 seconds, nonstop, all the time.  Is this supposed to be some sort of indicator, or is it messed up?  Half the time there are no missed notifications or anything, it's just constant blinking!

Okay, I figured out it's a missed notification indicator.  I get a million emails a day and it blinks every time I get an email.  It's too much!  Is there a way to turn it off?  I would like the notifier to blink only when I miss a call or a text - that's it!  Emails is too much.

  • T400 LCD TFT display specifications

    Hey everyone,
I was wondering if anyone would have on hand or know where to find information on the display specifications for the T400 LCD TFT display (WXGA, LED backlight).
    Specifically I'm looking for:
    Model Name/Manufacturer:
    Display area:
    Pixel Pitch:
    Synchronization
    Horizontal: (kHz)
    Vertical: (Hz)
    Display Color: (24bit, 16bit)
    Cheers,
    J

    Welcome to the forum!
Do I understand correctly that you bought a complete new LCD Assembly? Do you have proof from the seller that it was working properly before you bought it?
Can you see a picture if you use a torchlight over the panel?
A faint dark picture could be a defective LCD cable, inverter/LED card or a defective LCD backlight. Since you see a picture I would rule out a motherboard fuse problem.
    Edit: Richk was faster!

  • Macbook Display blinking and not recognizing ACER LCD projector

I have a Black Macbook (2008) and have been using an ACER p1265 projector for the last two year on a daily basis. Today when I went to plug in the projector to my mac my screen freaked out and began to blink blue and white. I tried another adapter, VGA cable and nothing has worked. I plugged my mac into another projector and it worked just fine. I know the ACER is really picky about what display setting it uses, I have tried all the options and nothing has worked. I am wondering if I should buy a DVI cable and try that out on monday when i am back at school? Any suggestions

I saw another post recently but now I can't find it. It sounded somewhat similar to yours. A projector that used to work suddenly wasn't. That problem turned out to be that the projector had gotten switched to auto scan mode and was looking for an input signal among it's various ports. For whatever reason, it was failing to detect the Mac's VGA output as a valid input. The person posting the issue said that when they hard switched the projector to its VGA input to stop the projector from port scanning, it started working again. Just thought I would mention that.

  • Thunderbolt Display is constantly blinking on OSX Mavericks

    Hi folks,
    I got:
    - Thunderbolt Display,
    - Macbook Air,
    - Mac Mini.
I am pulling my hair since my Thunderbolt Display started to blink (to black screen for half a second) every minute or so. Sometimes every 5 minutes or few times a minute.
It started happening on OSX Mavericks. I thought  it could be only my laptop so I got Mac Mini (with OSX 10.8) from work and attached the display to it - not blinking at all. Then I upgraded OSX on Mini to Mavericks and guess what - now it's blinking with Mini too!
Can anyone help me to diagnose the problem. Is there any way to check system logs to see for display (or thunderbolt itself) errors that might be causing this?
I'm just unable to work because of this blinking and I'm frustrated as the display wasn't cheap :-/

    Did you check this thread:

  • Display blinks on and off

I'm using two displays with my G5. The primary display recently started blinking on and off when I used any "busy" web site, meaning a site on which images constantly change or text automatically updates. The problem occurs in both Firefox and Safari, although it seems to occur more frequently when I use Firefox.
There's no issue with the secondary display. If I move the browser window to that display, I can browse all sites without problems, regardless of the browser I use. Also, when I quit the browser on the primary display, the blinking stops; it doesn't occur when I use other applications.
A self-test of the primary display checked out OK, and the problem persists even though I replaced the monitor's cable. Coincidentally -- or not -- the problem occurred after I installed Leopard on the Mac.
Any ideas about what's happening or what I can do to diagnose?
    Thanks.
    David

    Thanks for the response.
The problem (which I just noticed occurred in Entourage also) resolved after I reversed the monitor connections. I then reversed the connections back to the original configuration, and the problem has not recurred (at least so far), either in the dual-display or single-display configurations.
The only thing I can think of that may have had an effect is that the primary monitor, connected digitally, ran an auto-reset function after I switched the connection to analog.
