Dynex 32" TV (DX-32L151A11) - digital channel problems

My TV was working fine and I've had it for a couple months now - it would get all the channels with 3 or 4 numbers (115.5 etc) but now Mediacom has switched to all digital. I have the cable directly connected to the TV with no cable box and Mediacom screen says to rescan for channels. I rescan but I'm still getting the message. I noticed there is a DTV signal strength listed under Channel Setup in the menu but it's blacked out - no matter what option I choose (cable, cable box etc) and rescan the DTV signal strength is still blacked out with nothing showing. Is there another option in the menu somewhere to activate it? When I run autoscan it picks up digital and analog channels but then they are nowhere to be found when going through the channels. Is this a Mediacom issue or am I missing something with the TV? I ran autoscan 5 times this morning - should the DTV signal strength deal be showing something or is it normal for it to be blacked out/showing nothing? Thanks!

Sounds like they are all scrambled and you need a box now.

  • PCI 6601 Counter stops when digital channel operated

This is a problem being re-visted from last year after thinking I had found a solution.
Basically I have set two while loops up.
Each While loop has a counter channel running in it, Ctr0 and Ctr3 respectivly.
When the program is run the two counter channels generate a waveform as expected.
I then have added into each While loop Digital output channels that provide logic for Direction and Enable.
If the program is now run Ctr0 outputs as expected but Ctr3 remains off.
I then put the digital WRITE vi's into case statements, put the case to false and started the program.
    Both counters outputted waveforms.
Turned one of the case statements on and Ctr3 stops. It did not matter which case statement was turned off, Ctr3 always stops.
Tried changing counters to Ctr1 and Ctr2 - Same result one counter stops
Changed the 6601 for a 6602 and got similar results.
I have attached vi in version 8.6

  • Digital Noise Problem on AA 1.5

    Adobe Audition 1.5
Lately I have noticed that just by opening a track within Adobe Audition, that process "creates" or embeds digital noise within the song.
I have tested this problem a few times by listening to the song before opening it within Audition. Beforehand, the song plays without digital noise, and after it has been opened within Audition, the noise appears. This digital noise is hard to describe, it's short in length of time, about 1-2 seconds, and will appear at least once within whatever song is being tested.
I uninstalled and reinstalled Audition to see if this would solve the problem, but to my surprise, the exact same digital noise problem remained within the reinstalled version of program. In the past, AA 1.5 has worked okay without this problem.
It's also worth noting that when I reinstalled the program, I successfully entered my program key, and I am "not" running the program in demonstration mode.
I am planning on upgrading to Adobe Audition 3, but the upgrade uses a previous version as a platform on which to upgrade to version 3.
The concern is that this digital noise will "survive" in version 3 of the program.
Thanks for any tips or ways to eliminate the digital noise (besides reinstalling the program), even within Adobe Audition 1.5 for the time being.

The brief digital noise "replaces" or interrupts the song and does not mix together with it.
I have been saving the songs in .wav format.
I operate AA in virtual mode on Windows XP within a Mac computer, and now I have also discovered the same
digital noise on another sound program within a song on the Mac side.
I appreciate that this isn't a Mac forum, but I found a bulletin from Apple about noise issues with my current G5 computer:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2033?viewlocale=en_US
Perhaps this is good timing as I am preparing to buy a new Mac Pro, and this one has an Intel processor so I'll be
able to run Windows and Adobe Audition natively.
Thanks to all for the insightful comments and help.

  • Is DAQmx Read limited to 9 digital channels?

I'm trying to read multiple digital channels with DAQmx Read (Digital 1D Wfm NChan NSamp). The output the DAQmx Read vi is a 1D array of digital waveforms. If I put that output through Array to Cluster the resulting cluster seems to be limited to 9 elements, data[0] through data[8]. Is the DAQmx Read output limited to 9 digital waveforms? I'm using Labview 2009.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Converting an array to a cluster to use unbundle to break out the elements of the array is a hack.
You should be using Index Array to get the elements.  You can resize that function so that you can have additional outputs.  You won't even have to wire up any constants for the indices usually.  The top element will be element 0, the next element 1, element 2, and so on down to the bottom of the function.

I'm trying to get digital channels on a 40rv525r, but I can't make it search for digital channels. After it searches (and oesn't find) any analog channels, it stops without searching for any digtal channels, and since there no longer are any analog channels, I can't aget any public broadcast channels.

Take a look at the user's guide here.
Page 29 (30 of the .pdf) contains a section called "Configuring the antenna input source for the ANT/CABLE terminal."
You can also set it to digital mode only. See page 37 (38 of the .pdf).

Start by looking around the examples that ship with LabVIEW (if you are
    using LabVIEW).
Also look around zone.ni.com for general data acquisition information &
    examples. A good site.

  • Two digital channel output question

    Hi, everyone
I need some helps on design two digital channel output
In brief, I want to use a PCI-6731 output with BNC2110. Two digital
output channel will be used, e.g. Dev1/port0/line0:1. I hope line0 could
output a steady finite samples in frequency f1 (e.g. 10kHz), and total
number of samples like N1 (e.g. 1E6); in the mean time, I hope line1
    could output finite samples in frequency f2 = f1/M (e.g. 2kHz), and
    number of samples like N2 = N1/M (e.g. 2E5). In another words, I expect
line0 and line1 output same time length samples sequence with different
frequency and also different number. Please note that parameter should
be expected to be controllable, and sometime f2 and N2 are not exactly
integer (then we need take round value).
Thanks for your help in advance.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Attached is a vi that does what you want, I think. It used two digital outputs clocked by one of the counters. The digital outputs are fed waveforms that are generated by making two frequencies with an integer ratio. You can change the part of the code that generates the waveforms as you wish, and use the rest to do the output.

  • Digital output problem with new Audigy 2 driv

I updated to the 02.08.0004 drivers today and everything seemed fine till after I calibrated my speakers within speaker settings. I have Z680s hooked up to a Audigy 2 PCI card using both digital out and analog. As with previous drivers I calibrated using 6 Channel direct input.
Anyway, the problem is that when I use windows media player or any other media app, with the speakers set to Coax input (digital) I get the sound coming from the rear 2 speakers, instead of through the front 2 as it should. However, this only happens if I choose a speaker calibration under speaker settings.
It's a bit annoying because I didn't have this problem before. Anyone else have this problem or a solution? Or is it a case of Rolling back to an old driver and hoping the problem doesn't stick?
    Thanks

    Anyone have any ideas?

  • Quadrature encoder on PCI 6220 DAQ custom digital filter problem

I am using both counters on my 6220 DAQ for quadrature encoders.  What I am trying to do is filter some bounce that I am getting on the axes.  I want to be able to custom set the minimum pulse width for each encoder (or both the same should be fine). The problem is that the digital filter using DAQmx channel property for each line seems to work fine (I haven't proven that this actually works) but one has to choose from preset values (the smallest being 2.55ms).  I want to reject anything that is less the 10ms.  This document mentions that you can set up a programmable filter based on an external filter clock.  How do you actually do this?  Is there no way to use one of the internal timebases for this?  If so how?  The "Digital Filtering Conciderations for TIO-Based Devices" entry in the NI-DAQmx help states that you can choose one of four different values for a debouncing filter on a PFI line (different values than the previously linked document) and a custom filter value.
OK here is the short question .... is there a way for me to digitally filter the lines coming into my counters to reject anything less then 10ms through software only?  If so, how?  If using an external timebase is required, how do I do this?
Thanks in advance for any help
    Greycat

    Hi Greycat,
Although the documentation does mention that you can have one programmable filter setting, this is only true for TIO-Based devices. Unfortunately, the NI-6220 is a M-Series, which means that the only allowable minimum pulse widths settings are 125 ns, 6.425 µs and 2.55 ms. More information on this can be found in your NI-DAQmx help under NI-DAQmx Device Considerations » Digital Filtering » C and M Series.
I believe for your application requirement, we would have to look into some oour Counter/Timer devices.

Hmm, wait a minute, how many jacks goes into the sound card?
    or 3?
If its , make sure you plug it into the Digital Out jack and turn on the 'Digital Output' option in your mixer settings.
If its 3 going into the sound card, turn off Digital Output.

  • Generate and synchronize 6 digital channels with differents phases/frequencies/duty cycles/...

    Hello,
For some kind of tests we need to generate, with a 6534 card, 6 signals.
The 6534 has 32 digital E/S and can go up to 20MB/s !
Each channel must be independant so that it can have it's own frequency and duty cycle. But for exemple the second channel can be delayed in reference at first channel. I put an image so that you can understand better what i try to do (3 signals are shown but six are needed).
I see a lot of things on forum that are close to my probleme, but none seems to be as advanced as mine.
    http://sine.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/4683 -> 6534 doesn't have timers
    http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=40&message.id=5167 -> Just a phase probleme
    http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=261289 -> Another board
    http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=40&message.id=5090 -> Another probleme
I contacted NI support, they send me an exemple on "patterns" but it generates frequencies that are multiple of one with no phase consideration or duty cycle.
    Any idea ?
Thanks in advance for your advice and help.

At best, that's gonna be a pain in the neck with that board.  If you need very precise timing for freqs, duty cycles and offsets, it gets worse.  If they need to change on-the-fly, it'll be near-impossible.
    1. You can only operate 1 hw-timed digital output task at a time.  So all 6 signals must be part of that 1 task.
    2. Thus, you need to define an output buffer representing the states of those 6 bits throughout your entire generation.
    3. There's a bunch of greatest common factor and least common multiple stuff needed to figure out the right output rate and buffer size, assuming you'll want to regenerate repetitively.  You first need the gcf of all the transition times to come up with the right output rate since all the transitions need to occur on some integer multiple of the output period.   You'll then need the lcm of the 6 signals' periods, combined with the output rate, to size up a buffer that can be regenerated.
    4. Forming the output data array may be quite complex.   Personally, I always do my stuff with raw arrays and I know that interleaving all those signals can be quite tricky, especially if there may be an occasional simultaneous transition.   However, I suppose there's a chance that some of the digital waveform functions *might* make this step a bit simpler.  I just haven't played around with that format much.
Editorial opinion: Buy a 6602.  You can trigger 6 counters to start with different initial phasing, and will be able to change freq & duty cycle on-the-fly for each one independently.
Editorial opinion #2: For higher channel count apps, I'd also recommend checking out the DIO-64 board put out by Viewpoint Systems, an NI Alliance partner.  It gives you much smarter hardware-timed DIO.  With the NI board, there can be huge amounts of redundant info in the DO buffer.  If you find that your GCF is 10 microsec, but the time between consecutive transitions is 10 millisec, you'll have to stuff 1000 identical values into your output buffer.   With Viewpoint's board, your data acq buffer *only* contains data at the transition times.  Timing is controlled by delivering a separate array defining the timestamps that correspond to those transitions.

Unfortunately, Verizon doesn't have control over what shows/episodes appear on any On Demand channels and it's usually up to the individual network. Ana,
While I understand and believe what you are saying, I also know for sure that I have seen complaints from other FiOS users that episode 123 or program xyz is not available on VOD, yet when I go to VOD that episode or show is there and I can view it. So sometimes there apparently are timing differences (and maybe other differences) between VHOs or DACs or wherever the VOD stuff is hosted.

  • Multiple digital channel write

    Hi again,
I have been trying to reduce the size of my program by combining 5 digital outputs using one create task. The problem I am facing is with respect to sending the right boolean array to the right line.
Please find attached diagram to help me choose the right one. I have combined 5 digital lines, so I would need 5 rows and update each row as program loops. It doesnt seem to work. I use 6008 DAQ.
Also, is it right to refer a digital line as a "channel" or does create a single task create one channel?
I may not be perfect, but I'm all I got!
    Attachments:

    Hi VeeJay,
You would use the 1D Boolean (1 line per channel) option.  With this, you can write your array of values [ T F T F T ] for example, in a 1D array, and then write it so line 0 will get index 0 of your 1D array and line 4 will get index 4 of the array.  You can have that array change per loop iteration.
To define terminology, I will tell you the parts of a DAQmx Digital Output task with one channel containing 5 lines on your port:
    Task = Digital Output
Channel = Grouping of Digital Lines
Lines = Actual DO lines, such as Port 0 Line 0
So by creating one channel for each line, you can output a single value per channel, and the corresponding line will receive that value.  Having multiple lines per channel will cause you to have to write a 1D array of booleans for each channel, plus multiple channels or groupings.  Maybe a better way to explain this is with an example.  I have 5 DO lines in one channel, to write to that would take this:
    [ T F T F T ]
If I have two channels, 3 lines per channel, the array to write to those lines would be a 2D array that looks like this:
    [ T F T ]
    [ F T F ]
For your particular case, you want the first array, where each value corresponds to a line in your task, so that would be once again DAQmx Write Digital 1D Bool NChan 1Samp.vi.

  • Dynex DX-24L150A11 adding non-existing channels

I bought this Dynex TV (DX-24L150A11) for my mother last summer, and it's been pretty good.  She has the most basic cable plan with Comcast (gets a few unscrambled channels with no cable box).  She gets local over-the-air HD channels just fine by having the cable hooked up.  It's her first HDTV, and she's loving the clarity.
She didn't want all the channels she could receive (home shopping, foreign language, etc), so I programmed the TV with just the channels she wants so that she can channel surf with the Channel +/- buttons.
The problem is that the TV randomly adds channels with no signal to the programmed list.  No one has programmed them in.  They just appear on the list.  So now when she uses the Channel +/- buttons, she is frustrated with all of the channels that have no picture.  There are probably 10-20 channels added to the list.
I have reprogrammed this TV at least 10 times over the last few months to remove the offending channels.  I updated the firmware.  We thought it would work better, but then the channels started appearing again.
I know she doesn't know how to program the TV, so she's not adding the channels herself (and why would she?).
What's wrong with this TV's firmware?  Is there something else that could be causing this (like maybe she's hitting some weird button combination on the remote)?

I saw this a long time ago.  The User *was* adding channels unkowingly when using the channel +/- buttons.  It seemed to occur when the button was pressed repeatedly very fast succession, instead of slowly or being held down.  It seems as if the controller thought the key presses were meaning to add channels...
