E-71 Storing Email to the Memory Card vs. Internal...
Is it possible to store temporary email files (your Inbox for example) to the memory card as opposed to the internal phone memory?
On multiple occasions, I've run out of memory on the phone when trying to process heavy amounts of work email. If the E71 can't process up to 100 emails per day, I might need to get rid of it and revert back to my Samsung Blackjack II.
Try this:
Go to messaging (envolope botton on the keyboard)
Then Options.
Then Select Settings
Then Select Other
Then Go to Memory in Use and Select Memory Card. The phone will ask you whether to transfer data to memory card, to which you should answer Yes. There is another question that is asks you ahead of moving which is "whether you want to keep original file".... You need to answer No to free the memory... if you don't do it, you have to go for a very tricky work-around to remove the file in phone memory.

Hi, I have inserted 64gig SD Card in my new Z2. Since I will be using a lot of email, with heavy attachments, I want to store the emails on SD card and not on the main device storage. This way, I can keep eons of data handy. Any bright ideas how to achieve this? Again, I moved from iphone to Z2, and in iPhone i was able to keep at least three months of email handy with 16 gigs total. Here, on Z2, with 16+64 = 80 gigs, I should be able to keep huge email data. Help will be appreciated
Hi,
Email data will be stored on the internal storage in Xperia Z2. It's not possible to use the memory card for email storage. You can download attachments and move them from the internal storage using the file manager. The attachments will be saved in the folder called 'downloads'.

How is possible to save a pdf document from a email to the memory of my Nokia 520?
I installed Adobe Reader to read the pdf documents present in the memory of my Nokia Lumia 520 and those arrive by email.
Particulary important for is to save, the pdf that arrive by email, in the memory of my phone but I didn't understand how it is possible.

MauroNow it's impossible to save PDF files to memory or SD card because Windows Phone 8 simply doesn't allow this action for 3d party apps.

Transfering recieved files to the memory-card!!!!

I transfer files/pictures to my E71 via the Bluetooth but have a couple of problems!
1- If the file is bigger then the available phone memory (max 110 meg!) then i can't transfer! That i understand but does it exist any way to configure the phone to save the recieved files directly to the memory-card?
2- Those files that do get transfered to the phone, you have to open first before being able to transfer it ti the memory-card! Problem is some times the phone memory is not enough to even open it so you can't open it nor save it on the memory-card!
3- There seem to be NO "transfer file" option between the phone memory and the card memory!
Anyone knows something?
Cheer'sIf you go into Messaging, hit Options, choose Settings and then Other, then you can change the "Memory in use" from phone memory to the memory card. After that all incoming messages will be stored on the memory card.
You can also use Nokia PC Suite and use its Windows Explorer extension (Nokia Phone Browser) to copy files directly to the memory card also over Bluetooth (without going through Messaging at all).

I used to have a 5130, with it I was able to access my memory card in an area called gallery. From there i would have the option to access the photos and music from the phone and the option to access the memory card was there as well. I now have a 5230 but i realise that this option is not available. Is there anyway to get this option for the 5230 by changing the settings or updating the phone softwarse.
You've moved from a basic phone with a Java-based OS to a Symbian smartphone, access to your files from Gallery and Music Player are database-driven which find compatible file types wherever they are stored in the phone.
For your music, inserting a card from another phone won't automatically add music tracks to the music database. To do this, open the Music Player then select Options>Refresh Library. The phone will perform a scan of all available memories looking for music files and will add the content of your memory card.
The Gallery database for images and videos should be updated as soon as you open the gallery, and so if you then select Images and Videos you should see all photos and videos on both phone memory and memory card, sorted by default in descending date order. -

If the card currently has any stored images I would attempt to get them off and then do an in camera low level format and retest.
Also, it is rare but sometimes the pins in the CF memory card socket can be damaged (bent usually). Get a very bright flashlight, remove the memory card and look carefully at the bottom of the socket and examine the pins. -
5610 after update problem with the memory card
I have updated my brothers 5610 through NSU with latest firmware 6.60. First i have removed the card. The problem now is that the phone asks for password for the memory card and i haven't used one. I have tried with 0000 and 12345 with no sucsess. I also tried the card on my phone and it still asks for password. Please someone advise. Do i need to format the card with the PC /but there is data i need to safe/ or there is another way.
it is most likely the corrupt memory card issue, it happens quiet often. that is why back up is so essential to have especially of memories and such. for that i use share online and upload my pics right away to ovi or vox whichever.
the programs you bought you should be just able to download once again and plug in the key you have gotten with your applicatioins. you should be able to recover all of your purchases. i am sorry for your pics for those can't be recovered
i always keep a separate email folder for all my application keys so i can find they easily as phones and memory does get corrupt. i can do it relatively quickly and have the info handy even on the go

Is it possible to store txt message history on the memory card? - Always running out of txt storage space on my phone. I've never gotten close to being able to store 300 messages as indicated on pg 58 of the manual, so I must be missing something.

I know it can be frustrating seeing that inbox get full and having to delete
stored messages. I do see in the Samsung manual where it advises that it
will store a maximum of 300 messages on the phone. The number may lower
if there are pictures messages and other things being stored on the device.
Have you checked your total Memory available in Settings and Tools? How much is

On IMac 10.9 After I import a movie file from the camera memory card to Imovie 10.0.1 it acts as if the memory card is empty though I know it isn't.... I can't import that file to iMovie again.. is that the way it works now? Anyone know? Thanks, Filippo
I would like to know this too. I imported a lot of files, then Imovie crashed. I went back in and they are not in imovie at all.
I reconnected the camcorder to import again and though they are still on the camcorder, I no longer see them in the available list of files to import. I'm sure there is some sort of simple setting somewhere that reveals all files even if it thinks they are imported.

You can't. There is no memory card. It uses flash memory that's soldered to the logic board. If you didn't back it up, your data is gone.

C5-03; how to view music files in the memory card ...
Is it possible to view the files in the memory card (using the File Manager) folder-wise? I have some music files in the memory card; in a folder named 'Music'. When I go to Menu - Applications- Office- File mgr - E:Memory car-Music , I see the files in different collections corresponding to the artist/ genre names. I don't see the folders I had created. The artist/ genre (meta) data is not accurate and so the listing based on that is not useful.
This is related to the problem with Palylists I had posted earlier.go to music player select options and refresh player this will pick up all the music
you will get a message on screen for example 40 songs added the go to music player select all songs

I recently purchased an iPad camera connection kit hoping to directly download pictures from my camera to my iPad. When I put my memory card into the adapter and plug it in to my iPad nothing happens. My camera is a Sony Cybershot and the memory card is a Sony memory stick PRO duo 512 mb. I don't think I am doing anything incorrect. Is my camera/memory card incompatible with this adapter?
The Camera Connection Kit works with SD cards, not Memory Sticks.
Maybe you can find an MS to SD adapter, or use the USB connection with the USB cable that came with the camera. -

I have read various posts about the same problem.
I backed up my phone memory to my memory disk memory before updating my Nokia software as suggested. I have now been asked to put in a password. I didn't set a password, and have tried 12345, but no luck. I would prefer not to format the memory card as i will lose contacts and a hefty amount of music.

Nokia should give a warning that the memory card will lock!That message appears because your phone was hacked to unlock it in order to use it with the carrier you're now using. Updating software or restoring a hacked iPhone will re-lock it to the carrier it was originally locked to. You have two choices: re-hack it, or get it officially unlocked(only the carrier it is locked to can authorize such).

Why can't I transfer my photos from the memory card to my computer.
I have an HP 5510 and can't see where I can download photos from the memory card to my computer. The printer only lets me view the photos or print them, but I want to store them on my computer. How do i do that?
