E 90 connecting to hotmail

I have a E 90. How do i connect it to my hotmail account. I do not the incomming server name.
Can anybody help me ?

In certain regions, "Windows Live" client will be available in the "Download" app. Could you check it in your E90? if available, you can install it and configure it. This will be integrated with the native email client.
However, this does not support polling for new mails or any push capability. You will have to manually synchronise the mail if you want to check for new mails.

    Hi!
If it was working before and you are on the same BB, I suggest doing these steps:
    Full reboot:
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation.
If that does not restore the delivery of your emails, then re-push your service books:

Lastly, since it's HotMail, it may be that you have not done the recently required re-validation:
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB13137
Hopefully one of those will work!

  • Mail can't connect to hotmail?

    Hello,
All of a sudden my macbook is saying that it cant connect to Hotmail, it had a similar issue with the gmail but I've managed to configure gmail again but I cant get hotmail to work,
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

What does Mail/Window/Connection Doctor Show? If the server is red, select it and look at the Show Details box.
Troubleshooting sending and receiving email messages
If it is happening on both the computer and the phone, your ISP or Hotmail may be having a problem.

  • Connection to hotmail server failed

Both my iPhone 5 and iPad when retrieving email state the connection to hotmail server failed, even with wifi. Ale to access via safari though. Any ideas?

Hotmail was having mobile server issues yesterday, they might still be having problems.

  • Mail in Mountain Lion can no longer connect to Hotmail server

A couple of days ago I suddenly got the warning triangle next to my hotmail accounts in Mail on my Mac running Mountain Lion 10.8.1. Clicking on them or looking in the connection doctor just says that it can't connect to pop3.live.com, verify all account details etc. I've already tried all of the standard troubleshooting steps including (but not just) removing and re-adding the accounts and verifying all account details etc and nothing has worked.
Does anyone know if this is a Mail problem? Completely out of ideas and Google doesn't seem to have anymore answers to try...
    Any help appreciated!

Thought I had the same problem, find out that any account won't work. Hotmail/Webmail (domains)/work mail/ISP mail. Nothing works.
    All give the time-out error.
    edit:
Tried to add my iCloud mail, got the same error when setting up my account.

  • Mail App no longer connecting with Hotmail accounts

I have had my hotmail accounts connected to my Mail app on my iMac for years, no problem. As of yesterday the Mail App wil no longer connect with any of my hotmail accounts. It is connecting with my gmail accounts.
The error message I get is: "UNable to receive Mail: There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Verify the settings for account “EKRDL” or try again. The server returned the error: The server “pop3.live.com” refused to allow a connection on port 995"
Hep anyone? What is happening here?

    You're welcome.
How the heck did you figure that one out?!
I didn't, actually. Someone else in this forum (and probably other people in other forums as well), figured it out by looking at the changes introduced by the Mac OS X 10.4.7 Update, and checking his/her own settings accordingly:

  • Failed connection using hotmail in mail

Hi, i recently changed my email address, my old one after downloading the neccessary package, worked well in Mail but the new one does not, i have removed all old accounts and it is completely empty but everytime i try to add the new account it appears to work but i cant send or receive mail because it says the connection failed and gives me the following message :Could not connect to 'httpmail Account'
Access to Hotmail via Outlook and Outlook Express now requires a subscription. Please sign up at http://join.msn.com/general/Email.
What does this mean? i have signed up for my new account and it works using hotmail.com so why wont it work in Mail? please help me soon!

Hotmail does not allow you to get your mail via POP3 unless you have a paid subscription starting at $19.95 /year.
The free version is only accessable via webmail UNLESS you use something like HTTPMail

Who is your provider? I know that some (Roadrunner, in particular) are finnicky about allowing access via external clients unless you're directly connected to their network by their lines (i.e., you can only check your Roadrunner email in Mail.app when you're plugged into your Roadrunner cable line).
If that's not the case with yours, and you're entering the information in correctly, you should probably get in touch with their support people.

  • Connection to hotmail stopped working

Hotmail connection says either user I'd or pswd is incorrect yet I can access it from safari. It has been working for years.  What do I need to try to attempt to get this fixed

I am having this same issue.  I can access these accounts from computers, other locations on others' computers, but I cannot get the mail from one account on either my iPhone or iPad.  I've deleted the account on the iPad and re-installed it, but it still will not receive mail.
    Frustrating.

  • Mail app cant connect to hotmail smtp

    hi everyone
I just started using mac in dec
Today, when i try to send an email using the mail app, an error message comes up saying it cannot connect to mail server
But I can receive mail from my hotmail account
I tried looking through some post, most of them only says change the port number which I did, but no luck
So I want to see is there anybody here got the same problem or has a solution to it
    Many thx!!!

it might not work with hotmail, but sometimes try unchecking SSL. and also try unchecking the "password" option and put "none"...or some combination of that.
if that doesn't work, you can always configure an smtp server option from your home or university ISP and send emails out through that.
it really doesn't matter, you can send from different smtp and it will still arrive from your hotmail address, although i'm not sure if spam filters will know the difference or not.
perhaps your ISP's are blocking something. i find this to be the case many times believe it or not. you should call the ISP or your tech department to trouble shoot that configuration.
i'm not an expert on this by any means, but i travel a lot in weird countries with slow connections, and i have had all kinds of problems. once, we were in a tiny town with satellite/cable internet access for the whole town. i could send out, but my friend with another mac couldn't.
also, sometimes it has to do with your email provider. but in this case, it's hotmail, so that's doubtful.

  • Mail won't connect to hotmail - recently upgraded to 10.5.3

Hi, upgraded to 10.5.3 on Thursday night and since then I do not appear to be able to connect to my hotmail e-mails via the mail application. I am also running a plugin for mail called - "daniels httpmail plugin leopard".
The mail application opens but times out and says that it cannot connect to the smtp server - This is by looking at the connection doctor.
Any help would be appreciated as I am very new to Mac's having run on xp before.
    Thanks!

Many of us are having the same problem. Here is the only solution I've found so far.

  • Macmail can't connect to hotmail

We have been using the Macmail facility on a Macbook Air (running Mavericks) to connect to a hotmail account and an MSN account, which are both set up as POP and have been working fine. However, for some reason we now keep receiving a pop up saying that it can't connect and prompts us to enter the passwords? The passwords have not changed and we can access the accounts through a browser and our Android phones fine, it just seems to be Macmail that has trouble connecting. Every now and again it'll suddenly connect and collect new mail but then it'll drop out again and ask for passwords. It's most annoying.
Any suggestions on what the problem might be?

    Hi browntownlad,

  • I can't connect to Hotmail's login window (I can connect to other websites).

The message I get is as follows: The connection has timed out The server at login.live.com is taking too long to respond. The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection. If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Adding Open DNS codes to your Network Preferences, should give good results in terms of speed-up as well as added security, (including anti-phishing and redirects) (Full information about Open DNS is here: http://www.opendns.com/home/nobloat ) and further independent information can be read here:
    http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-57338784-263/free-dnscrypt-tool-enhances-ma c-web-security/?tag=mncol;txt
    and here:
    http://www.macworld.com/article/1146064/troubleshootdns.html?t=234
Open System Preferences/Network. Double click on your connection type, or select it in the drop-down menu, and in the box marked 'DNS Servers' add the following two numbers:
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
(You can also enter them if you click on Advanced and then DNS)
Sometimes reversing the order of the DNS numbers can be beneficial in cases where there is a long delay before web pages start to load, and then suddenly load at normal speed:

  • I have an issue with my ipad2.  There is a dialogue box open regarding connecting to hotmail and I cannot close it.   Any ideas on what I can do?

I have an issue with my ipad2.  There is a dialogue box open stating "Cannot verify server identity - Hotmail can't verify  the identity of "m.hotmail.com" - Would you like to continue anyway?"  I cannot close it close this box no matter what I press.  As a result I cant get in to my ipad.  Any ideas on what I can do?  I have tried switching it off but this doesn't work either.

You need to force quit whatever is happening to you.  Try a reset, reboot.  Hold the home and sleep button until the apple logo appears.  Ignore the red slider.
What may be happening is that the set up for your hot mail account is wrong or has failed, and if you have push or fetch turned on, one of the first things the pad will do is to establish contact, and check your mail.  If it cannot get through because of the set up, it comes to a stop, wanting you to fix that problem.
If you have a wifi only, try to start up the pad where there is no signal.  And if your have 3 g, turn it off.  You want the pad to thing there is no signal, so dont try to look for the mail.
What happens if you push home from that screen?  It should goto the home page.  Then go immediately to settings, mail, and either fix the setting, or delete the account and start over.  But turn off push or fetch until you get it sorted out.
