Since 5 hours I try to activate Adobe Digital Editors and continously get
E_ADEPT_IO ActivationServiceInfo Error%20#2032
I have already :
1/ changed Firefox for Explorer to download ADE
2/ turned Firewall and anti-virus software off
3/ change proxy settings for "automatic"
4/ started ADE as administrator
5/ changed compatibility for :
   a/ XP Windows service Pack 2
   b/ Vista Service Pack
   c/ Windows 7
and .... what I've got is this error.
Can somebody help me ? Please ....

I tried all of the above too including restarting and even switching the router, I also tried different PCs, and still get the same error message.
Oh yes and I tried the customer support, which told me to ask here.
Help, anybody? please

I Finally got mine to work. I hadn't changed anything on my computer, but it just started giving me this error and the E_ADEPT_DATABASE error out of the blue. Nothing really worked. I tried redownloading the program, restarting my computer, changing my internet settings to "automatically detect...", yelling, anger, sadness, evil eye.. you get the point. Anywho, after several successful attempts, this is what works for me:
By the way, I run Win 7 and mainly use ff. Unfortunately, FF does not work with this.
Using the search bar in Win 7, type in "Allow". This should pop up the link to "Allow a program through Windows Firewall". Clickety-click.
Click on the button that says "Change settings". (Maybe be fast or slow).
If Adobe Digital Editions is listed, click it (I have home/work checked but not public). If it is not listed - Click on "Allow another program.." (really that what the button says. Find Adobe Digital Editions and click.
Click on OK.
Open the acsm link through Internet Explorer (FF won't work). It should download no problems.
I have tried this with FF and it did not work. I had to go back and "Allow" ade again.
Works in IE if I automatically detect... or not.
Is still annoying because it worked fine before. I want things back the way they used to be!
I know that this is somewhere on the Adobe site but I had a hard time finding it.
I know I talk too much but wanted to explain in detail (yes, I know it's a lot of detail.

When installing Digital Editions I recieved the Error message: E_ADEPT_IO ActivationServiceInfo Error%20#2032
I followed instructions to add Digital Editions in through the firewall, which I did and recieved the Welcome to Digital Editions message.
I am still getting the same error code.
Any ideas?

Trying to reinstall ADE I get this error. I get the options to cancel which closes the program or to try again. What can I do? I tried to uninstall en reinstall the program

Just read another reply which said to make sure that your computer date and time is correct.

ERROR: E_ADEPT_IO Activate Error %20#2032

I have tried many times today (11/8) to authorize my new Astak EZReader Pocket Pro device but always get the subject error message a short time after being told that Adobe Digital Editions is "Connecting to Authorization Server". This new reader is a replacement for a defective unit which authorized without a problem about one month ago. Any suggestions for getting around this problem will be greatly appreciated.
I forgot to mention a very wierd attendant problem: each time I try the device authorization and get this error message, I find that my internet connection has been lost and the only way I can restore it is to shut down and restart. As long as I don't attempt the ADE device authorization, my internet connection (via Verizon FiOS) functions normally. This one really has me stumped.

Additional updated information from initial poster: I am working actively and closely with the E-reader device support team to determine if the problem is being caused by the reader rather than with Digital Editions. A further update will be posted just as soon as a determination is made one way or the other.

I have tried all the approaches suggested by all posts, including stand-along installer and firewall bypass, and nothing works. Same problem as others- error activating and the "try again" button doesn't work. I have valid Adobe username and I am using XP and firefox. Please help ASAP as I need to read books for class that are only available in digital editions format.

let me elucidate-
When I try to download directly from the Digital Editions page, I got a "download failed" message-
when I did the stand alone installation, everything is fine, the Digital Editions screen pops up in the background, and then the error message pops up, and I am unable to open any files to read. Now, when I try to lauch straight from the Digital Editions page, I get the background but the same error message appears.

Tried everything or almost everything either singularly or in combination.
1. Downgraded flash to 10.xx.xxx……..…..no change
2. Upgraded all add-ons…………………..……..no change.
3. Cleared cache………………………………..…….no change.
4. Turned off hardware acceleration…..…..no change.
5. Set ProtectedMode=0 in mms.cfg…….....no change
6. Deactivated add-ons one at a time….....no change
7. Reactivatewd add-ons one at a time..….flash started working
8. Applied flash 11.5.502.135…………..………still works
9. Deleted ProtectedMode=0 in mms.cfg…..still works
10. Turned on hardware acceleration……..….still works

Error 2032 refers a stream error. I think its a network issues. Do you use internet using proxy server. Have you restarted your machine since the problem persists.

Adobe Digital Editions Launch error

After installing Adobe Difital Editions I get an error message when trying to launch - E_ADEPT_IO ActivationServiceInfo Error%20#2032. I have tried reinstalling and then installing on Mozilla Firefox but still get the same eror message. Can anyone help please?

The document says:
"To resolve this issue, modify your firewall or other software to allow your machine to connect to the activation server at http://adeactivate.adobe.com/."
When I go to that site it says:
Site unavailable

So is the activation server down? I've already gone through all of the troubleshooting steps mentioned on that page and the forum thread.

Error Activating Adobe Digital Editions

I downloaded and installed Adobe Digital Editions but when I open the program I get this message: Error Activating: E_ADEPT_IO ActivationServiceInfo Error%20#2032
I tried uninstalling the program and then reinstalling it along with rebooting my system. What can I do to fix this problem?

Hi,
Regarding the error message that you are getting you can try following steps:
1) Open Adobe Digital Editions.
2) Press Ctrl+Shift+D key of your Keyboard and deauthorize Digital Editions.
3) Uninstall Adobe Digital Editions from your computer.
     Click start>>Control Panel>>Programs>>Programs and features.
     Select Adobe Digital Editions from the list and Delete.
4) Also delete following files.
    Click Start>>Run
    Type "regedit" in the box and hit enter.
    Locate the following key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>Adobe>Digital Editions"
    delete the full folder (Right click on it and click delete).
     Also locate HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>Adobe>Adept
     Delete the full folder.
5) Now open Internet explorer. go to Tools>>Internet options>>Connections>>Lan settings. Check the “automatically detect settings” box and uncheck all the other boxes.
6) Now download and install Adobe Digital Editions from the link given below.
     http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/.
7) When asked to authorize computer then please enter same Adobe ID and password which you were using earlier.
8) Now try to open the books.

Why doesn't DE activate properly?

I've been trying to install Digital Editions 1.7.1 folr my laptop with Vista. Every time I get to launching the program for the first time I get the following error message E_ADEPT_IO ActivationServiceInfo Error%20#2032. Try Again button does not help and canceling closes the whole program. How can I get the program working? Thanks in advance for any hints.
I have already tried manual installation and I've read the forum posts from 2008 and 2007 about this issue, but to no avail. Please help!

Hmm.. I just finished installing the program on a MacBook in my office. Everything went fine. I did it over the same wireless network as with the laptop with Vista. Well, until someone gives a better answer, I'll just try to do something.

Getting Authorization unsuccessful - endless process

Hi,
I have to retry several times connection before the authorization process starts. But once started the process is endless.
I don't get any exception.
I am not able to delete any previous authorization , if any, using (ctrl + Maj + D)

- I updated Norton and Windows firewall, still not working
- I uninstalled ADE 2.0 and installed 1.7.2 from : http://helpx.adobe.com/digital-editions/kb/cant-install-digital-editions.html
then as soon ADE was opened I got:

- Did more researches and tested a solution found in:

I don't understand why but it works:
- uninstall ADE
- Download ADE using IE browser and not CHROME as I did
- reinstall
