E-Business Suite with 64-bit Windows 7 desktop clients

Hi,
I have Dell Inspiron n 4010 laptop with preloaded windows 7 Home Basic (64-bit) OS.
Wanted to install Oracle Apps..But could not make it.
Can anybody pls help me how to install in my laptop !!
Even I tried to insatll Window xp ..it wont allow.
Please suggest me the best solution.

Can anybody suggest whether this would work or not in my system .If you have sufficient resources on your Windows 7 machine then you can install Linux 64-bit as a guest OS then install R12 (at least 6 GB RAM, and for disk space please check the installation doc link referenced below).

I use a "bundle" approach, first loading Photoshop 6, then upgrading with CS upgrade and then CS3 upgrade. The installation goes smoothly until I add PS CS, and then it balks at the "accept" Adobe conditions screen. I have two other (Gateway) computers with Windows 7, 64-bit, on both of which the PS-6, CS-CS3 pathway worked fine. Any thoughts on how to get this working? Thanks

If your goal is to install and activate CS5 there is no need to install anything preceding it. You will only need to have the serial number from the preceding version that you upgrade from (CS3 I guess).

Issue with Integrating E-Business suite with Oracle Webcache server

I am trying to configure webcache to E- Business Suite.
Webcache sits on some other server, and configured both the sides means webcache server side as well as E-Business side.
Now issues is i am trying to access E-Business suite via webcache server i am getting Jsp pages as well OA Frame work pages but i could not able to open forms from function click.
Here when we are trying to launch forms from function click we are getting nothing
At that time i hope this will hit FND_ICX_LAUNCH.runforms for launcing the forms.Here is the problem i guess, we are not getting any
pl/sql pages(modplsql).

Thanks for your reply. I need the integration of E-Business suite with OAM , in 10g we have to integrate the E-Business suite with OSSO and the WE need to integrate the OSSO with OAM 10g.
I heard that now we can integrate the E-Business suite with OAM 11g with out OSSO, is it correct ??

Is RoboHelp compatible with 64-bit Windows 7?

I'm having a problem with RoboHelp/RoboSource (posted about elsewhere in the forum) and in response to a support query, I received a message stating that RoboHelp is not compatible with 64-bit Windows 7.
Quoting: "Please ensure that Windows 7 is not 64 bit, as RoboHelp is not compatible."
This seems to be in conflict with the blog posting by Ankur Jain, Product Manager - RoboHelp, (http://blogs.adobe.com/techcomm/2009/12/adobe_robohelp_8_now_supports_windows_7_also.html) in which he states "I'm pleased to inform you that Adobe RoboHelp 8 now also supports Windows 7. With this, RoboHelp 8 is now compatible with Microsoft® Windows® XP with Service Pack 2 (Service Pack 3 recommended) or Windows Vista® with Service Pack 1 or Windows® 7."
Now, Mr. Jain doesn't specify 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7, but considering the detail in his posting regarding service packs, I'd expect that a blanket statement like RH is compatible with Win 7 would mean both 32-bit and 64-bit, unless otherwise stated.
Some questions:
1) Is RH compatible with 64-bit Win 7 or not?
2) What about RoboSource? Is it compatible with Windows 7? If so, which versions? 32-bit or 64-bit?
Also, the tech person said that we also need to try running RoboHelp in "simplified mode." What exactly is that?

This mice do not need any specific drivers or software. It runs with the default Microsoft mice drivers. It is compatible with Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit operating system. You do not need to install any specific drivers.

Latest available Windows/desktop client?

We're currently running a trial on campus and finding that our users are...displeased...by the lack of some functionality in the Windows desktop client that's available (albeit with a less pleasant interface) in the web client (the ability to send repeating meeting information in iCal to external users via email, support for viewing external attendee information in meetings, etc.). The latest Windows desktop client we've been able to find is 9.0.4.2.469. Our server is running 9.0.4.2.9 with the 9.0.4.2.33 web interface patch set. Is there potentially any newer release of the desktop client for Windows that I'm just not seeing (finding things on Metalink is still a black art for me, I'm afraid) or is 9.0.4.2.469 the last version that will be available until the 10g client drop?

the users in our University Hospital also complain of the lack of some features in the native client 9.0.4.2.69 (which is the latest available).
When issuing an Enhancement Request for more address book features I got the following link to the 10g information. We will have to wait until this summer and hope that all problems are solved...

Hot Synching Palm Z22 with 64 bit Windows 7

I just purchased a new Sony Vaio running 64 bit Windows 7 and I'm unable to Hot Sync my Palm Z22 to my computer. I've been a Palm user for years, with my current one being my 3rd model and it's been my lifeline but I'm highly agitated and frustrated that the Palm folks haven't posted any updates to handle my current situation. Everything I read here indicates spending additional money to go the infrared route and some people aren't even having success while others struggled a long time to make it eventually sync. Does anyone out there have an identical situation as mine, who'd be willing to give me sound advice as to what I need to do and how to do it in order to get my Palm to communicate with my 64 bit Windows 7 platform? Thank you to anyone who's able to assist.

This subject has been discussed and beaten to death in many other threads here. The facts (again) are:
1. Palm sold the rights to Palm Desktop many years ago. Railing against Palm/HP makes no sense. If you want an update, complain to Access of Japan. They are the owners of the software, and they chose to drop the ball.
2. Many other companies have struggled to come up with 64bit drivers for their existing software (that they actually own!)
3. Palm OS devices were EOL'd quite a while ago. They were supported through Vista 32 bit. Microsoft changed things, and you chose to buy a 64bit system. HPalm has moved on to a whole new OS and devices, and support for PalmOS is nearing an end.
Yes, it would have been great if Access stepped up to the "plat" and provided a 64bit version of Palm Desktop, but that didn't happen. Workarounds have been provided on this forum by devoted users, and they do work!

11i E-Business suite with 11gr2

In my organization we have recently upgraded one of the 11i (11.5.10.2) E-business suite database from 10.2.0.3 to 11.1.0.7 on solaris (64-bit). Currently we are looking to upgrade the new 11gR1 to 11gR2 EBS database on solaris and confused about the certification. Does 11gr2 is certified with EBS11i (11.5.10.2) on solaris?
Also we have OEM 10g grid control (10.2.0.1.0) repository in our environment. Is 11gr1 or 11gr2 e-business suite 11i database is certified with OEM10g (10.2.0.1.0), if not which exact version of grid control do we need to upgrade to have 11g database working with OEM grid?

Currently, 11gR2 is certified with version 11i of Apps only on the Linux platform - pl see http://blogs.oracle.com/stevenChan/2009/10/db11gr2_certified_ebs11i.html. The Solaris version of 11gR2 was released a few weeks ago and certification with 11i will take some time. Pl subscribe to Steven's blog for certification updates.

Photoshop with 64 bit windows

I am looking at upgrading my current PC (dual core 1.86GHz - 32 bit windows) - I'm finding myself spending more time waiting on things to finish.
I will likely be going for a quad core vista 64 or windows 7 platform - my question is, am I going to run into compatibility problems with my current CS4 product and associated plugins (onOne Suite, Nik Color Efix, Noise Ninja)?
I assume I can run everything in 32 bit mode, but if i want to take advantage of 64 bit computations and memory beyond 4GB, do I have to upgrade to a 64 bit version of CS4 (or is this standard / included w/ the 32 bit version). And if I make this change, will I then have to upgrade the other applications?

Both PS CS4 versions are installed as default on a 64-bit OS.
I think most plug-ins have now been updated to 64-bit compatibility although you will need to check with the manufacturer's site.
All my 32-bit applications run in Vista 64.
One old printer doesn't have a driver but I run that off an XP computer.

IE6 compatibility with 64-bit Windows Server

Is Internet Explorer 6 compatible with 64-bit versions of Windows Server 2003 or 2008?
My client needs to access more than 3GB of addressable memory (i.e. 64-bit O/S) but needs an "air gap" before they are ready to move off of IE6.

I suppose I should have added some more detail to this inquiry:
The application logic & databases are hosted on clustered HPUX environments.
Each application is accessed through a Windows Server environment, hosting the web servers.
Two separate domains access the applications (via the web servers) -
1) A client desktop environment running Windows XP SP2 (and IE6) which interacts directly via HTML
2) A Citrix farm environment providing access for Citrix WID clients. Applications are visible via IE6 running within the Citrix farm.
Citrix is currently running on a 32-bit Windows Server 2003 O/S. The Citrix clients share the available memory - with Windows Server 2003 that means 30-50 clients sharing 3GB RAM. That is insufficient for the new applications (Note: there are already other
applications accessed via this farm), hence the need for an O/S that has more addressable memory.
Changing to IE8/9 would make good sense for obvious reasons - but it will entail a huge retesting of performance and functionality on both environments as well as a new Desktop build and deployment. These delays cannot be accomodated by the project - hence
my question "Can Internet Explorer 6 run on 64-bit versions of Windows Server 2003 or 2008"?

How to update Photoshop and rest of CS4 suite to 64 bit windows 7

Hi. I've been using Adobe CS4 Master Suite on a 32 bit vista system.
I'm switching to a 64 bit windows 7 computer.
After going through the whole Master Suite Installation process, all of my Adobe programs show up in 32 bit / x86 format, except Photoshop which shows up both in 32 bit / x86 folder AND in 64 bit.
How do I get the rest of the Master Suite to show up / install in 64 bit? (is there a separate update? require a separate purchase? and why did photoshop work whereas the rest did not?)
And how do I check within the individual program to see if it's 32 or 64 bit? (photoshop has a system info tab that identified PS as 64 bit, but other progs don't have that)

You don't. Only Photoshop is 64bit, the other apps are conventional 32bit apps. The isntall location is therefore correct (within microsofts guidelines).

Easy Print VI panel not working with 64-bit windows vista

We have a significantly sized application developed in Labview 8.2.1 that is designed to work on a standalone computer. This application uses "Easy Print VI Panel" to print report pages which are basically front panels of various VIs. The application also prints some report pages using the "Print Report" module. Typically we use the application builder and use the generated installer to install the application on a target computer. We also include the appropriate Run-Time engine and NI VISA 4.1. The applications works exactly as designed on all versions of 32-bit Windows (ME, XP, Vista). Now, when this application was installed on a machine running Windows Vista 64-bit, attempts to print reports resulted in a lot of blank pages. I noticed that the report pages that are based on the "Easy Print VI Panel" module were blank whereas the ones that are based on the "Print Report" module were not blank.
To further troubleshoot, I created a very small application. The only function of this application is to use the "Easy Print VI Panel" to print the front panel of another VI that I bundled inside the application. I observed the same behavior.
From what I can tell, either:
1. "Easy Print VI Panel" with Labview 8.2.1 is not compatible with Windows Vista 64-bit
2. The Labview Run-Time Engine 8.2.1 has some incompatibility with Windows Vista 64-bit (I have not tried to install the full development system on the 64-bit Vista computer)
Any insights as to what may be causing this? or does anyone know of a fix for this issue. I am attaching the latter simple test code to the post.

Sorry Sam, I couldn't get my hands on a 64-bit Vista machine to tinker with your VI. I got a little obsessed with trying to get ahold of a computer to test it out on, that I overlooked actually taking the time to think about the problem. But, now that I'm thinking about it, which operating system did you build this application on? Sometimes an application that was built in another OS than it's running on will have problems caused by the differences in the OS. I'd like to try building the application in 64-bit Vista and deploying it to another 64-bit Vista machine, but unfortunately, I can't test this out myself. My gut feeling is that the application is acting up because it wasn't built in 64-bit Vista, not because the Easy Print VI or the 8.2.1 Run-Time Engine themselves are incompatible with 64-bit Vista. If you can, please test out that theory. That will definitely help determine if it's truly a bug or not.
