"E" display on deskjet f380

"E" is constantly displayed on the printer which is less than three years old with light usage.
Have contacted HP support, but they will not help unless under warranty, and suggest using the faq section.
Unfortunately the problem is not covered by this, and support will not give further advice. If they only deal with warranty, why do they not state on the website?
Have changed both cartridges, cleared paper feed, uninstalled and reinstalled, disconnected and reconnected.
They only route now is to go and buy a \canon printer, and hope to get better service

Stands for EDGE or EGPRS which is also refered to 2g or 2.5g and refers to data transfer rates. Typically the higher the g number the faster it is.

  • Express + USB Hub + HP Deskjet F380

    Hi,
I've connected an HP Deskjet F380 to a powered USB Hub to an Express but it doesn't seem to be able to communicate. Then, I plugged the Deskjet directly into the Express and that didn't work either. I have plugged the Deskjet into the Apple Cinema Display and that has worked. I just got a replacement Express from Apple today. Anyone have any ideas?
I didn't install the HP drivers for the Deskjet. Do you think that will make a difference?
    Thanks.

Not every printer is compatible. You might want to check www.ifelix.co.uk/tech/1013.html and try some of the suggestions there.

  • HP Utility won't list my device (Deskjet F380) in Mac OS 10.6.8

Hi, I just downloaded the 10.6 drivers and software for my HP Deskjet F380 printer and I want to clean the print heads, but HP Utility doesn't show the device and won't respond when I click to add a device.
The printer is connected fine and shows up in System Profiler and Print & Fax Prefs, and the ink levels show up too. It just won't show in HP Utility. So how can I clean the print heads?
    Thanks
    Sarah

OK, let's get rid of the HP software altogether:
Uninstall the software using the 'scrubber' option:
Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard/ click on HP Uninstaller
    Click on Continue
Highlight your device on the left pane
Press and hold Control + Alt + Cmd keys on the keyboard simultaneously while you click on Uninstall This IS the Scrubber Option, there is no button labeled "Scrubber"
There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall ALL hp software. (At this point, if you continue, any HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled)
Click Continue and let it finish
    Download and install this: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907
    Restart your Mac.
    Now reset the printing system:
    - Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
    - Right (control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
    - Select the plus sign to re-add it. Look for the printer, select it and wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.

  • Can't find HP Deskjet F380

Hello. I bought an HP Deskjet F380 all in one for my Macbook. Installation went fine Monday and printed a few photos and documents. Tried using it again Wednesday to print out a few pics, but nothing happened. Job operation on printer browser says it's going through, but then says job stops. Everything else seems to be in order - chosen right printer on printer utility, right paper, utility is fine, USB cord is new and firmly in place, but still nothing.
I unstalled and re-installed the printer software. Now I'm stuck at HP Setup assistant for configuration. The printer choice, that was there Monday, is nowhere to be found. Called HP tech support. They think it's the USB cord (or possibly port on either printer or MB since the printer is not being ID'd on the computer. I'm not sure it's the cord. Like I said, it's new and worked before. And it's working with an external zip drive I had.
My question: Anyone else had a similar problem with his Deskjet or 300 series? Do you think it could be a port on the MB (which I doubt) or the printer? Might there be any other factor I'm overlooking and should consider? Should I try to download a new driver/software? Or just get a new USB cord?

Have you tried turning the power off to the printer for a while? This can sometimes help with getting the HP Setup to see the printer again.

  • Running HP Deskjet F380 on a laptop running Windows 7

My old computer died. It was a 9 year old Dell running Windows XP. I cannot load the software for my HP Deskjet F380 on the laptop I bought at a pawnshop. I get the message that the HP software is not compatible with my version of Windows: "Current OS: Windows XP 64 bit; Supported: Windows 2000, Windows XP" -- this is wrong. I'm running Windows 7.
Is there a work around for this. I love this model. Please advise.

    Hi,
Where do you get the driver ? From the old CD ? If yes, the CD knows nothing about Windows 7. Please download Full Feature Software and Drivers from the following link and install it on your Windows 7 machine.

    Hi @panduke,
I understand that you would like to be able to email a multiple page scan. I can help you today.
I don't have access to the Cue 13 software that you are using, so I will provide a couple of ways to be able to check the setting for creating a separate file for each scanned page or not. If these steps don't match the software that you are using, please provide a screen shot of the software.
Most likely these steps are similar to your software. Cue 14 software.
Open the HP Solutions Center software for scanning, click on the Change Settings button, click the Advanced Picture Settings button, check Scan multiple photos to a individual file. Press OK.
    Lite v22 software.
In the HP Solutions Center software for scanning, click the link Advanced Settings, click on the File tab.
Uncheck Create a separate file for each scanned page.
    Press OK.
    Have a nice day!

  • Does the hp deskjet f380 all-in-one can work on a mac os x 10.7.5 ?

does the hp deskjet F380 all-in-one can work on a mac os x 10.7.5 ? I bought my all-in-one F380 in october 2007 and I would like to use it on my new computer Mac OS X 10.7.5 bougt in december 2011. The DVD from 2007 seems to be unavailable now on my computer. Can you provide me a new way th install the F380 ? Thanks in advance,

Update:I use mac OS 10.10, but i scrolled down in the driver download menu and selected mac OS 10.6. There I downloadedHP Deskjet PSC and office jet full feature software and drivers v 10.3. This gave me access to full feature software including utility, customer partcipation and scanner software. HP printer software V. 3.1 then automatically downloaded when i clicked apple update in the application store. Interestingly however this is not the version mentioned in the software I use though. Post download, the version of the printer driver mentioned for Deskjet F380 is v2.05 and the version for the utility software is 5.24.2 valid till 2015. Now both my HP Deskjet F380 and  HP PSC 1310 all-in-one PRINT Thanks HP! ISSUES: HOWEVER neither can SCAN! while the F380 shows a scanning error, the PSC 1310 doesn't even pop up as a selectable device to scan with! PLEASE FIX THIS HP! • HP Deskjet F380 - How to put on wireless network with Mac ? What print router is required?

    Hi I need some advice.
I need to wirelessly network my Deskjet F380 printer (All in 0ne) I use MacBook and iBook. I need to know which wireless router would be suitable.
    Can anyone help.
    Thanks
    Andy

Sorry, that Wi-Fire didn't solve the problem. The issue, most likely, is Wi-Fi interference due to building construction material between the 7th & 9th floors. I would know of only two other options: 1) Run Ethernet between the floors, or 2) Employ Powerline adapters which take advantage of the building's AC circuit.
For the second option, you would need a minimum of two adapter, one for near the router on the 9th floor and the second near your computer on the 7th. An Ethernet patch cord would then be connected between the 9th floor router and the first adapter, and a second patch cable connected between the second adapter & your computer.

  • HP DeskJet F380 won't work with Airport Express

    Hello,
I just purchased a HP DeskJet F380 AIO printer to use with my PBook G4 12". It works fine when connected directly to the PBook through USB, but when I try to use it with Airport Express it won't work. The printer setup utility recognizes the printer as a Bonjour printer but then the specific model won't show up in the pull-down menu. I've tried picking other HP printer models, but when I try to print the printer won't do anything at all. I asked HP support and they basically threw up their hands and gave no assistance.
How can I make this printer work with Airport?
    Thanks!
    PowerBook G4 12"   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Hi and welcome to the Discussions
    Try the process outlined here:
HP Printers (and others) not on compatibility list and Airport Extreme Printing
    http://www.ifelix.co.uk/tech/1300.html
If the supplied HP driver won't work (and as there are no third party alternatives available) then no it won't work with Airport.

  • Wireless printing from a Deskjet F380 All In One printer

Is it possible to print from my G72 laptop to my F380 AIO printer without using a cable. I understand a wireless mouse and laptop operate by plugging a device into a desktop's USB port. Is something similar possible by plugging a device into teh printer?
    Thanks for your replies.

The F380 has no wireless capabilities - so using the usb cable is mandatory if you want to print from your G72.
If you still want to print wireless
what you could do is to buy a printserver - so you connect your printer to the printserver and this can work wireless towards your G72.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Print_server
    Another option
If you want to  get wireless is to get a Wireless printer , were this funcionality is build in.
an HP wireless printer would be the F4580.

  • Deskjet F380 All in One; pdf printing to a fax printer which doesn't exist

For some reason anytime we try to print a pdf (or photo) the pc will not let us select our HP F380 All in One printer, but instead will only let us select a Fax printer.  I have no idea where that would have come from as I have never faxed from this computer.
Any ideas?  I have no idea if it is a problem with the printer or pc or both.  Hope someone has some suggestions.

  • HP Deskjet F380 problem printing with airport extreme

Have tried everything under the sun from the apple and HP support websites and cannot get my printer to work wirelessly. When I try to add my printer, I get error message "-9672". Any other suggestions. Already spent 90 minutes on HP support and they gave me "their best effort", meaning they didn't think they could really help with outside products. Thanks.

Hello jds17. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
Unfortunately, not all USB printers are compatible with AirPort base stations.
Take a look at one of these iFelix Unofficial AirPort Printer Compatibility links, depending on which AirPort base station you have:
o 802.11g AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS) or AirPort Express Base Station (AX)
o 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn)
If your printer isn't listed, it doesn't necessarily mean it won't work, but simply that it has not been verified. iFelix also provides the following workaround for printers not on the list that would certainly be worth a try.
Also, you may find the following Apple article helpful.
