E&M troubleshoot

My client is using a Avaya PBX to connect to Cisco Router. I am having two sites between which calling has to be set up. I have put the dial-plan in place but the call is not working.. I suspect an E&M issue. Can someone explain me what In-seizure and out-seizure is and can u pls tell me why the out status on second router is showing as seized..

My computer runs on Windows 7, and I've installed and updated the latest versions of itunes etc, but still to no avail! I've tried different usb ports, troubleshooting, etc... But it still says "One of the USB decuces arrached to this omputer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it".
The iPod is brand new, sent to me by Apple as part of the 1st gen replacement programme. I've been using the cable that came with the 1st gen iPod (I bought the first gen second hand) It always worked on my computer with the 1st gen iPod. So I was wondering, do you think I need to replace my cable in order for my PC to recognize my iPod or is it something else?
    Thanks

Try a different cable. And are you connecting directly to your computer or through a USB hub?

  • TS3694 My Ipod is not recognized by Itunes with my Windows 8 PC. Works fine with Windows 7 PC. Device sync test says "No device found". Already performed all of the Ipod device troubleshooting including reload Itunes, stop start Ipod device, changed drive

Need help? Some of my Ipods are not recognized by Itunes with my Windows 8 PC. (Ipod Nano 4th gen  and Ipod Nano 6th gen), but on my Windows 7 PC, they work fine.  My Ipod 3rd gen and Ipod shuffle work both on Windows 8 and 7 PC's.  On the non-working Ipods, the  Device sync test says "No device found". Already performed all of the Ipod device troubleshooting including reload Itunes, stop start Ipod device, changed drive letter...
    any help is appreciated. Chris4sail

  • IPod not recognized by Windows or iTunes, troubleshooting didn't help.

I have an 80 gig iPod classic. When I plug it into my computer it is not recognized by either Windows or iTunes. However, it does charge while connected. I have gone through every troubleshooting tip on the Apple website and nothing has worked. The only thing I was unable to try was restoring it because it needs to be recognized in iTunes in order to do so. Any suggestions?

    I had the same problem.......
OK, after 8 hours.. It worked..... I was installling and uninstalling only itunes 9 but not all the apple components in my computer....... uninstall itunes 9 and all its components: Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Software Update, Bonjour, iPod for Windows, iTunes, QuickTime.
Under the folder c:\Program Files delete the following folders:
Apple Software Update, Bonjour, iPod, iTunes, QuickTime
Search for any hidden folders named "Apple Computer" or "Apple" These may appear under AppData or Local/AppData, Delete these folders.
Restart your Windows machine and install itunes 9 and quicktime again..... good luck!!!!!

  • Mac Mini Crashed 2x In Past Week - How To Troubleshoot Console Errors?

Hello, my mac mini 2011 has crashed on me twice in the past week. Once it happened while I was returning to my desk. I heard a noise... like something electrical shutting down abruptly.  The second time it happened, the mac mini was in the process of restarting.. (same sound), it just automatically restarted again and then booted up. Not sure if that was related to an update that was waiting to install.
My issue is, how do I troubleshoot the crash? I know most people go to the console.... I have no idea how to define what is going on or find out exactly what caused the crash. There are a ton of messages in there... some are normal?  Other things definitely indicate a problem but I'm not sure how to fix it.
I copied and pasted the message from the time I rebooted here.. Some highlights I see:
    1) Problems with iCal
    2) Some deny machine lookups: What is this?   ([1034]) mdworker(1034) deny mach-lookup com.apple.ls.boxd
    3) Missing semicolin in dictionary
    4) and unknown Cisvo VPN?  SystemStarter[513]: Unknown service: CiscoVPN"
    5) Some file permissions errors: launchctl: Dubious permissions on file (skipping): /Library/LaunchAgents/com.adobe.AAM.Updater-1.0.plist"
    6) SendFlattenedData error:  coreservicesd[59]: SendFlattenedData, got error #268435460 (ipc/send) timed out from ::mach_msg(), sending notification kLSNotifyChildApplicationLaunch to notificationID=140"
    7) Driver errors:
5/24/13 4:23:00.049 PM ConsumerTouchDriver[241]: Could not find image named 'TouchRingToggleLEDSlitOff'.
5/24/13 4:23:00.060 PM ConsumerTouchDriver[241]: Could not find image named 'DKTouchRingToggleLeft'.
5/24/13 4:23:00.067 PM ConsumerTouchDriver[241]: Could not find image named 'DKTouchRingToggleRight'.
    8) Various invalid connections: WindowServer[82]: CGXGetConnectionProperty: Invalid connection 32195 (there are more of these)
    9) Boot Strap lookup failures: timezoned[160]: bootstrap_look_up failed (44e)
Just too many here as you can see. Please note some network names and IP addresses have been redacted. I also took out some multiple Google Update entries for brevity. They look normal for most part except for the part that it showed up about 7 or 8 times.
if anyone knows how to decipher this please let me know.

  • Troubleshooting InTune, SCCM, and Windows 8.1 Phones

    Howdy...
I've setup various components but when I use my Windows 8.1 Samsung phone "Workplace Account" feature, the phone gets stuck on "We're looking for your settings...", it will stay on this for 15+mins if I let it.
What can I do for further troubleshooting?
    Here are my components used:
    InTune Trail Subscription
Verified to use my public domain via the custom TXT DNS record
UPN settings configured (UPN = public email format = [email protected])
Single Sign On into InTune admin console and user portal configured via ADFS
Logon tests from a PC are successful internally and externally into the admin console and user portal
Used DirSync on Win2012r2 to sync my AD to the Azure cloud - works fine
ADFS servers (and DirSync) on 2012r2
ADFS Web Application Servers on 2012r2
System Center Configuration Manager has Intune Subscription configured
System Center Configuration Manager ha the trail certificate, InTunes role installed, and distro.point set to manage.microsoft.com, and trail apps that came with trail certificate
...note sure if I've forgotten anything - definitely not the easiest thing to get working!!
I've also done a packet capture from the firewall - they (firewall company) have ruled out their device as the problem.
I've been using a few URLs to help,
    this is one of them

The Microsoft Intune team has confirmed this was an issue.  The temp solution was to disable a checkbox in my ADFS server...  In a few weeks I will call back on my ticket and see if there is a better solution, otherwise this is the only thing I
    could do.
ADFS Server > ADFS Console > Authentication Policies
    Global Settings > Edit
Primary Tab > Uncheck "Enable Device Authentication"
    Microsoft Tech Support Comment:
I am confirming the only known solution, which is a short term workaround being suggested by the PG/engineering, which is to Disable device auth properties check box on ADFS side.
The long term solution is already well underway and in testing by the Product team and should be released in the upcoming weeks.
Public facing documentation for this issue should be available soon but we do not have a specific date.

  • How can I install Adobe Photoshop Elements Update 9.0.3 after I get a message that Installation has failed and the solution is not in troubleshooting or forums?

My Photoshop Elements 9 stopped working a couple of weeks ago. When I clicked the PSE button nothing happened. I tried this several times over a few days and it still failed. I uninstalled the program and re-installed it. It worked well. Then I tried to install the Update 9.0.3. The download was almost successful. When it was about to show 100% successful for the download, an error message said the installation had failed and that I should try later. I tried this many times over a few days and the same result occurred. I tried troubleshooting and the answers to questions, but I could not find an answer. I don't know where to go to see if anybody has answered my question. How can I install Update 9.0.3?

  • Steps to troubleshoot and get past common problems with Audition

When you encounter a problem with Audition, the following steps are often useful for getting past the problem and/or determining the cause of the problem:
    1.  Hold down SHIFT while you launch Audition
This overrides the preference files and launches Audition using the default settings.
    2.  Manually rename or delete the preferences folder
Step 1 only overrides certain preference files, while others such as Workspace preference files, may be the cause of the problem.  Depending on your OS, locate the "5.0" folder in the location below and rename it or delete it.
         Windows XP: C:\Document and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Adobe\Audition\5.0\
         Windows Vista/7: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Audition\5.0\ *
         Mac OS X: ~\Library\Preferences\Adobe\Audition\5.0\ **
              * "AppData" may be a hidden folder.  You can type it into the location bar, or enable "Show Hidden Files" in Windows.
** This is your user-level Library folder, not the system-level tree.
    3. Check your Audition Log.txt file
To enable a log file with CS 5.5, you must create an empty file in your preferences folder called "Audition Log.txt" using notepad, text edit, or any other editor.  After you create this file, launch Audition and if it fails, open and/or share the log file for more specific information about what's happening.
    4. Check the Operating System console or error log
Both OS X and Windows can track application errors, and if the problem is occurring outside of the application code - a driver conflict, for example - then the OS error report may be more informative than what we can get from the application.
OS X: launch /Applications/Utilities/Console.app   Clear the view, then launch Audition and note any error messages that appear.
Windows: launch Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Application then launch Audition and note any error messages that appear.
    5. Re-install Audition
If at this point, nothing has resolved the issue or the error logs are inconclusive, it's a good time to uninstall Audition, reboot, and reinstall Audition.
    6. Obtain the full crash dump and send it to the Adobe team
So you've walked through all the above steps, you've disconnected any external hardware interfaces to rule out any device or driver conflicts, and you've exhausted the basic troubleshooting steps.  Visit http://forums.adobe.com/thread/900619 and follow the steps for your OS that Charles has documented to best obtain a full crash memory dump for Audition, and send that to [email protected] with a description of the problem and the steps you've taken, and we'll take a look.

Firstly yes these are common problems and secondly hopefully they will be fixed with updated software 2.1 which is due for release this coming Firday!

  • Troubleshoot installation problems in Photoshop Lightroom on Windows Vista

This document can help you to resolve system errors that occur while you use Adobe Photoshop Lightroom on Windows Vista. System errors can manifest in many different ways, including (but not limited to) the following:
A blank or flickering dialog box
    A frozen cursor or screen
    A blue screen
    An unexpected restart
    An error message such as:
"Setup is unable to load the installation script file."
"Unable to create a directory under C:\Windows\System. Please check write-access to the directory."
"Uninstalling: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom refers to a location that is unavailable. It could be on a hard drive on this computer, or on a network. Check to make sure that the disk is properly inserted, or that you are connected to the Internet or your network, and then try again. If it still cannot be located, the information might have been moved to a different location."
Note: If you attempt to install Photoshop Lightroom to a drive that doesn't have the minimum required space available, the installation will fail. You must then completely reinstall to another location that has sufficient free space.
Many different factors can cause system errors, including conflicts among device drivers, applications, operating system settings, hardware, and corrupt elements in specific files. Although a system error may occur only when you work with Photoshop Lightroom, Photoshop Lightroom may not necessarily be the cause; it may be the only application that uses enough memory or processor cycles to expose the problem.
To benefit most from this document, perform the tasks in order. Keep track of the tasks that you perform and the results of each, including errors and other problems. Adobe Technical Support can use this information to better assist you if you need to call.
You must be logged on as an administrator to perform some of the procedures in this document.
Important: Some of the procedures in this document may initiate a User Access Control dialog that asks for your permission to continue. Read the details in the dialog to determine if you want to continue. If you choose to cancel the dialog, then you will not be able to continue with that troubleshooting step.
The steps in this document that refer to the Control Panel are in reference to the Classic view. For information on switching the Control Panel to the Classic view and many other common OS procedures, see Common Microsoft Windows Vista procedures (TechNote kb401275)
Some of these procedures require you to locate hidden files and hidden folders. Some procedures require you to locate files by their full file names, which include extensions (for example, example_filename.ini). By default, Windows Explorer doesn't show hidden files, hidden folders, and file name extensions that it recognizes.
To show hidden files, hidden folders, and all file name extensions in Windows Explorer:
In Windows Explorer, choose Organize > Folder And Search Options.
Click the View tab in the Folder Options dialog box.
In Advanced Settings, select Show Hidden Files And Folders.
Deselect Hide Extensions For Known File Types.
    Click OK.
Note: The procedures in this document are based on the default interface of Windows Vista. If the interface is customized, some procedures may vary. For example, a commonly encountered difference is the navigation to Control Panel from the Start menu: You may navigate Start > Settings > Control Panel instead of Start > Control Panel. Additionally, the procedures in this document assume you are using the Classic View of the Control Panel: To view the Control Panel in the Classic View, click Switch To Classic View on the Control Panel navigation bar on the left side of the window.
    Beginning troubleshooting
The tasks in this section can help you resolve the most common system errors. Before performing any of these tasks, back up all personal files (for example, Photoshop Lightroom files you created). Always restart the computer after a system error occurs to refresh system memory. Continuing to work without restarting the computer may compound the problem.
1.Make sure that the system meets the minimum requirements for PhotoshopLightroom.
Photoshop Lightroom may not run correctly on a system that doesn't meet the following requirements:
Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor
Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7
768 MB of RAM (1 GB recommended)
1 GB of available hard-disk space
    CD-ROM drive
In addition to these requirements, a video card that supports 24-bit (16 million) or more colors, and a resolution of 1024 x 768 or higher, is recommended.
    * Photoshop Lightroom 1.0 will install and run on Windows Vista but Adobe cannot guarantee the quality of the software experience until Adobe fully certifies Photoshop Lightroom for use on Windows Vista.
To check basic system information, such as processor speed and how much RAM is installed, choose Start > Control Panel > System.
    2. Delete previously installed application files, especially if you had the public beta version of Photoshop Lightroom installed.
To delete files from a previous Adobe Photoshop Lightroom installation attempt:
Choose Start > Control Panels > Add or Remove Programs.
Select Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and choose to remove it.
Close the Add Or Remove Programs window and the Control Panel.
    Open Windows Explorer.
If the Lightroom.exe file is still in the Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom folder, delete it.
If the Lightroom Preferences.agprefs file is still in the Documents and Settings/[username]/Application Data/Adobe/Lightroom/Preferences folder, delete it.
    Empty the Recycle Bin.
Try to reinstall. If you cannot, continue with the next two sections in this step:
Move all the folders under the Users/[username]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Lightroom folder into a new folder on the desktop; name the folder Lightroom Presets. These are the presets that were installed with the application and that you created.
Move all the folders under the Users/[username]/Pictures/Lightroom/Lightroom Previews.lrdata folder into a new folder on the desktop; name the folder Lightroom Previews. If you have a large number of images, you can move this folder back to its original location before you open Photoshop Lightroom, once it's installed. Or you can delete this folders to re-create it when Photoshop Lightroom opens. If there are further problems with Photoshop Lightroom after it's installed, it might be due to corruption in the previews, in which case you need to delete this folder and re-create it.
Try to reinstall.Important: Do not delete the Lightroom Database.lrdb file!
If there are further problems with Photoshop Lightroom after it's installed, these issues may be due to corruption in the preset files you created, in which case you need to remove them and re-create them, or test each preset individually.
Note: If you can reinstall, and if this is not the first time you opened Photoshop Lightroom, then Photoshop Lightroom will look for a library database file. If it does not find a library in the expected location, it will prompt you to create a new library, locate the library, or exit. Exit will close the dialog box, and Photoshop Lightroom will not open. Although you can tell Photoshop Lightroom to locate your library, it's best to put it back in the default location and then open the application.
If you can reinstall, close Photoshop Lightroom and then copy any presets you created from the Lightroom presets on the desktop back into the Users/[username]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Lightroom folder.
If you cannot reinstall, then move the Lightroom Database.lrdb file from the Users/[username]/Pictures/Lightroom folder into a new folder called Lightroom Database File and save this file on the desktop. This is your database, if you previously had Photoshop Lightroom installed.
Reinstall Photoshop Lightroom. If you cannot reinstall, continue with the next task in this document.
    3. Log in as Administrator before installingPhotoshopLightroom.
In Windows Vista, you must be logged in with local (that is, machine) Administrator rights to install Photoshop Lightroom. If you don't have administrator rights, contact your system administrator for assistance.
    4. Check the CD and CD-ROM drive.
Dust or dirt on a CD can interfere with an installation and prevent the CD-ROM drive from recognizing the CD. Examine the Photoshop Lightroom CD for dirt, dust, or fingerprints. Gently wipe the bottom of the CD from the center outward with a soft, lint-free cloth.
Verify that the CD-ROM drive can read other CDs. If it can't, examine the CD caddy or loading tray for dirt, and clean it with a lint-free cloth. If it still can't read other CDs, contact the CD-ROM drive manufacturer or the computer manufacturer.
    5. Install current Windows service packs and other updates.
Updates to the Windows operating system improve its performance and compatibility with applications. You can obtain Windows service packs and other updates from the Microsoft website at www.windowsupdate.com. For assistance installing service packs and other updates, contact Microsoft technical support.
Important: Before you install a system update, check the system requirements for Photoshop Lightroom (and any third-party software or hardware you may use with Photoshop Lightroom ) to ensure compatibility. If the update isn't listed, then contact Adobe or the manufacturer of your third-party software or hardware.
    6. InstallPhotoshopLightroomfrom the desktop and use the default installation folder.
Some system components such as device drivers and virus protection utilities can conflict with the Photoshop Lightroom installer and result in an incomplete or failed installation, or they can cause problems when you install to a folder or when you use a path to the default installation folder that contains a special character, such as #. To prevent these conflicts, install Photoshop Lightroom from the desktop, and use the default folder name and path.
If Photoshop Lightroom autoplay displays, click Cancel when you are requested to Select the Language.
Copy the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom folder from the Photoshop Lightroom CD-ROM to the desktop.
Open the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom folder on the desktop.
Double-click the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom.msi file, and follow the on-screen instructions.
    7.Re-create thePhotoshopLightroompreferences file.
Re-create the Photoshop Lightroom preferences file to eliminate problems that a damaged preferences file might cause:
    Quit Photoshop Lightroom.
Rename the Lightroom Preferences.agprefs file (for example, to Lightroom Preferences.old) in the Users/[username]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Lightroom/Preferences folder.
Start Photoshop Lightroom. Photoshop Lightroom creates a new preferences file.
If the problem continues, the preferences file isn't the cause. To restore custom settings, delete the new preferences file and restore the original name of the previous preferences file.
8.Install and run Photoshop Lightroom while no other applications are running.
Some applications may interfere with installing or running Photoshop Lightroom. Virus protection programs are meant to stop viruses from installing on your computer. Before installing or starting Photoshop Lightroom, disable other applications, including virus protection programs and startup items (items that start automatically with Windows).
To disable startup items and non Microsoft services:
    Quit all applications.
Choose Start, type msconfig in the Search text box, and press Enter.
Write down all unselected items under the Startup and Services tabs.
Click the General tab, and choose Selective Startup.
Click the Startup tab and select Disable All.
Click the Services tab and select Hide All Microsoft Services.
Select Disable All then re-select FLEXnet Licensing Service. If you are unsure whether an item is essential, then leave it deselected (disabled).
Click Apply, and restart Windows for the changes to take effect.
Note: Upon restart, you'll be notified that the System Configuration utility has made changes to the way that Windows starts up. Click OK. When the System Configuration utility appears, click Cancel.
Right-click icons in the Notification Area and close or disable any startup items that are still active.
    9. Install Photoshop Lightroom to a different hard disk after disabling startup items and installing from the hard disk.
Hard disk problems can prevent Photoshop Lightroom from installing correctly. By installing Photoshop Lightroom to a different physical hard disk, you can verify if the original hard disk is preventing installation. First, completely remove Photoshop Lightroom from the hard disk.
To install Photoshop Lightroom to a different hard disk after disabling startup items:
Follow the steps in task 8 above to disable startup items.
Click Change and select a different hard disk in the Change Current Destination Folder window. Click OK, and then follow the on-screen instructions.
    Intermediate troubleshooting
If the tasks in the previous section don't solve the problem, try the following intermediate troubleshooting tasks.
    10. Install and run Photoshop Lightroom in a new user account.
Create a new user account that has the same permissions as the account that you use when the problem occurs. If the problem doesn't recur, the original user account may be damaged. For instructions on creating a new user account, see To add a new user to the computer in Windows Help or contact your system administrator.
    11. Optimize handling of temporary files by Windows Vista.
Windows and applications store working data in temporary (.tmp) files that they create on the hard disk. Excessive or outdated temporary files can interfere with performance of Windows or applications.
Delete temporary files by using the Disk Cleanup utility included with Windows or by using the following instructions. Make sure that at least 1 GB of free space is available on the hard disk to which temporary files are written. To start Disk Cleanup, choose Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup. For information about Disk Cleanup, see Windows Help.
    To manually delete temporary files:
Note: Windows deletes temporary files when Windows and applications close normally. However, when Windows or an application crashes, temporary files can accumulate on the hard disk. Windows may prevent you from deleting some temporary files as they may be in use. Delete as many temporary files as you possibly can, without deleting the files that are in use.
    Quit all applications.
Choose Start and type %tmp% in the Search text box and press Enter.
Delete the contents of this folder.
Note the drive letter where this directory is located.
To ensure that at least 1 GB of free space is available on the hard disk to which temporary files are written:
    Choose Start > My Computer.
Select the drive noted in step 4. Right click and select Properties.
Confirm the drive has at least 1 GB of free space.
    12. Repair and defragment hard disks.
System errors can occur if hard disks contain damaged sectors or fragmented files. Repair and defragment hard disks, either by using the Error-checking tool and Disk Defragmenter utility included with Windows or by using a third-party disk utility. You should run such utilities on each hard disk or partition. More information about the Error-checking tool and Disk Defragmenter appears below; for more information about a third-party disk utility, refer to the documentation for the utility.
The Error-checking tool repairs bad sectors, lost allocation units and file fragments, cross-linked files, and invalid file names. To access the Error-checking tool, choose Start > Computer, right-click the desired hard disk, and choose Properties from the menu. In the Local Disk Properties dialog box, click the Tools tab, and then click Check Now in the Error-checking area.
Note: To prevent Disk Defragmenter from moving files to bad sectors of a disk, run the Error-checking tool before running Disk Defragmenter.
Disk Defragmenter rearranges the files and free space on your computer so that files are stored in contiguous units and free space is consolidated in one contiguous block. To access the Disk Defragmenter utility, choose Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter.
    13. Scan the system for viruses.
Use current anti-virus software to check the system for viruses. Virus infections can damage software and cause system errors. For more information, see the documentation for the anti-virus software.
    14. Try to install Photoshop Lightroomon a different computer.
Try to install Photoshop Lightroom on a different computer to determine if the problem is unique to your computer. If the problem is unique to your computer, contact the computer manufacturer; if the problem occurs on multiple computers, contact Adobe Technical Support.
    Advanced Troubleshooting
If the tasks in the previous section don't resolve the problem, you may be able to resolve the problem by reinstalling Windows Vista and Photoshop Lightroom, reformatting your hard disk and reinstalling Windows Vista and Photoshop Lightroom, or by determining if hardware is conflicting with Photoshop Lightroom.
Disclaimer: Adobe doesn't support hardware and provides these procedures as a courtesy only. For further assistance, contact the hardware manufacturer or an authorized reseller. If you troubleshoot hardware problems yourself, you may void the warranty for your computer.
Note: Before you remove or rearrange hardware, turn off and disconnect power to the computer and any peripheral devices.
    15. Log in using the built-in Administrator account.
The built-in Administrator account has a higher access level to the system than a normal local administrator account. By default the built-in Administrator account is disabled. For information about enabling and logging in to the built-in Administrator account, contact your system administrator. You can also refer to this support document on the Microsoft support website: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926183/en-us?spid=11737&sid=73.
    16. Reformat the hard disk, and reinstall only Windows Vista and Photoshop Lightroom.
Reformat the hard disk, and then install only Windows Vista and Photoshop Lightroom from the original installation media. Reformatting a disk erases all files it contains, so be sure to back up all personal files first. Also make sure that you have all application and system disks.
For instructions on performing a clean installation of Windows Vista, see document 918884, "How to install Windows Vista" on the Microsoft website at http://support.microsoft.com.
Note: Don't install additional software or hardware until you're sure that the problem is resolved. Don't back up the hard disk and restore Windows and Photoshop Lightroom instead of reinstalling them. If the problem is caused by an application or Windows, and either one is restored instead of reinstalled, the problem may recur.
After you reformat the hard disk and reinstall Windows and Photoshop Lightroom, try to re-create the problem:
If the problem no longer occurs, then install other applications one at a time and try to re-create the problem after each installation. If the problem occurs after an installation, then the recently installed application may be the cause.
If the problem occurs when only Windows and Photoshop Lightroom are installed, then the cause may be hardware-related, and you should contact the hardware manufacturer or an authorized reseller for assistance.
    17. Check for problems with RAM modules.
Ensure that the RAM modules are installed properly and are not the cause of your problem. Do one or both of the following:
Change the order of the installed modules.
Remove all but the minimum number of modules needed to run Windows and [product], and test to see if the problem persists. If it does, replace the modules you removed and remove the others, testing again to see if the problem recurs. If it doesn't, then one or more of the removed modules are the cause. For assistance, contact the RAM manufacturer.

  • Error Code 201 and 213 when trying to install any Adobe application / Update my Creative Cloud Desktop App. Have tried troubleshooting with Online Chat Agents, no luck.

I have been trying for 2 days now to get this resolved.
Computer hashard wired internet connection, running Windows 7 Home Premium. No other issues with downloading or uploading from any other sites or programs. No other network issues reported on other computers.
It started when I went to install Lightroom through my Creative Cloud. It prompted me to update my Creative Cloud Desktop App, which I went to do and then promptly got Error Code 201. I restarted my Creative Cloud and then skipped the update, hoping it was just an issue with that specific download. I clicked to install Lightroom and the same thing happened, Error code 201.
I restarted my machine, and tried again. Same issue.
I contacted Support. They had me go in and change a bunch of folder names to and add "old" to the end of them and then had me try using the Adobe Cleaner tool, which did not work. He had me go in and change some internet settings, still nothing. Same issues as before, only now with all the renaming of things I cannot even open programs I had previously been able to open like Photoshop.
He instructed me to reinstall the CC Desktop App because the Cleaner tool was not recognizing that it existed anymore (probably something to do with renaming files.. just saying) and now I get the 201 Error when I try to reinstall the CC Desktop App.
I ran out of time and had to stop after being on with them for over an hour.
Today I contact back and was instructed to create a new user account on my computer and try downloading and installing the application in the new user. Same errors. 213 at first, restarted my computer and then got Error Code 201 again.
I am getting really frustrated and really behind on my work. Any information someone could give me would be greatly appreciated. Currently waiting for a chat person to be available again.
Thank you for your time and assistance.

Meowia for Error 201 please see Error downloading Creative Cloud applications - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/error-downloading-cc-apps.html.  Error 213 indicates there was problem locating the update or an incorrect URL.  The troubleshooting steps are still the same as both errors are related to failure of the current network connection.

  • FAQ: What features use the GPU and how do I troubleshoot GPU issues?

    Photoshop CS6 GPU FAQ
    Introduction
This document provides a quick reference guide to video card usage in Photoshop.  Some features require a compatible video card to work; if the video card or its driver is defective or unsupported, those features will not work at all.  Other features use the video card for acceleration and if the card or driver is defective those features will run more slowly.
    Mercury Graphics Engine
The Mercury Graphics Engine (MGE) represents features that use video card, or GPU, acceleration. In Photoshop CS6, this new engine delivers near-instant results when editing with key tools such as Liquify, Warp, Lighting Effects and the Oil Paint filter. The new MGE delivers unprecedented responsiveness for a fluid feel as you work.
MGE is new to Photoshop CS6, and uses both the OpenGL and OpenCL frameworks. It does not use the proprietary CUDA framework from nVidia.
In order to use MGE, you must have a supported video card and updated driver. If you do not have a supported card, performance will be degraded. In most cases the acceleration is lost and the feature runs in the normal CPU mode. However, there are some features that will not work without a supported video card.
GPU features added in Photoshop CS6
Adaptive Wide Angle Filter (compatible video card required)
Liquify (accelerated by compatible video card with 512MB VRAM, GPU mode unavailable on Windows XP)
Oil Paint (compatible video card required)
Warp and Puppet Warp (accelerated by compatible video card, GPU mode unavailable on Windows XP)

    GPU/OpenGL preferences in Photoshop CS6
The advantages of using a compatible video card (GPU) with Photoshop are that you can experience better performance and more features.   Problems can occur if you have an older video card with limited VRAM or if you use other programs at the same time as Photoshop that use the GPU.
Choose Edit > Preferences (Windows) or Photoshop > Preferences (Mac OS).
In the Performance panel, make sure Use Graphics Processor is selected in GPU Settings.
Click Advanced Settings and specify the following options:
    Mode > Basic
    Mode > Normal
Mode > Advanced Provides the benefits of Normal mode as well as newer OpenGL advances that can result in improved performance.
Use Graphics Processor to Accelerate Computation
Use OpenCL Uses the GPU to accelerate the new blur filters (Field Blur, Iris Blur, and Tilt-Shift) – OpenCL will only be available on newer GPUs that support OpenCL v1.1 or higher
Anti-Alias Guides And Paths Allows the GPU hardware to smooth the edges of drawn guides and paths.
30 Bit Display (Windows only) Allows Photoshop to display 30 bit data directly to screen on video cards that support it
    Quick GPU Troubleshooting Steps
You can experience problems such as artifacts, errors, and crashes if there are incompatibilities between Photoshop and the display components that access the GPU.
If you experience crashes, incorrectly rendered windows or objects, redraw issues, or performance issues while running Photoshop, first determine whether OpenGL is causing the problem.
    Turn off OpenGL.
Choose Edit > Preferences (Windows) or Photoshop > Preferences (Mac OS).
In the Performance panel, uncheck Use Graphics Processor. Click OK.
Restart Photoshop, and perform the same function.
If the problem recurs while OpenGL Drawing is disabled, OpenGL is not the cause. For additional troubleshooting, see Troubleshoot system errors and freezes | Adobe software on Windows (cpsid_82252) or Troubleshoot system errors and freezes | Adobe software on Mac OS 10.x (cpsid_82414).
If the problem resolves, proceed with the rest of the troubleshooting steps to fix OpenGL.
Make sure that you're using the latest update of Photoshop.Updates fix bugs and issues.
Update the display driver.Updated display drivers can fix many issues, such as crashing, incorrectly rendered objects, and performance problems. Determine what video card you have and go directly to the manufacturer's website (nVidia or ATI/AMD) and download the latest driver. (Note: Simply doing a Windows Update is does not guarantee you are using the latest driver. You must go directly to the nVideo or ATI/AMD websites to get the absolute latest driver.) After you update your driver, turn on Use Graphics Processor in Photoshop preferences.
    Reset preferences.
Resetting preferences returns OpenGL settings to their default status. Reset Photoshop preferences by pressing and holding Shift+Ctrl+Alt (Windows) or Shift+Option+Command (Mac OS) immediately after you start Photoshop.
Click Yes when asked if you want to delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings File.
Retry the function that caused the problem.
Change the OpenGL mode to Basic.
Setting the OpenGL mode to Basic uses the least amount of GPU memory and the most basic GPU feature set.
    Close all documents.
Choose Edit > Preferences (Windows) or Photoshop > Preferences (Mac OS)
In the Performance panel, click the GPU Settings Advanced Settings button.
    Choose Mode > Basic
    Restart Photoshop.
If this solution resolves the problem, switch to Normal mode. See if the issue recurs. If the issue recurs, return to Basic mode.
Note:  If you’re changing GPU preferences to troubleshoot a problem, re-launch Photoshop after each change.
If you are using more than one video adapter, remove the additional cards.
Multiple video adapters can cause problems with GPU accelerated or enabled features in Photoshop. It's best to connect two (or more) monitors into one video adapter. If you have to use more than one video adapter, make sure that they are the same make and model. Otherwise, crashes and other problems can occur in Photoshop.
Note: Using two video adapters does not enhance Photoshop's performance.
    Check your Cache Levels setting.
If you've set your Cache Levels to 1 in Photoshop preferences, you can experience performance issues with GPU features. Reset Cache Levels to the default setting, which is 4.
Choose Edit > Preferences > Performance (Windows) or Photoshop > Preferences (Mac OS)
In the Performance panel, choose Cache Levels > 4.
    The GPU Sniffer
To help guard against Photoshop crashes related to bad GPU hardware or drivers, Photoshop employs a small program called the GPU Sniffer. Every time Photoshop is launched, Photoshop launches the sniffer. The sniffer runs rudimentary tests of the GPU and reports the results to Photoshop. If the sniffer crashes or reports a failure status to Photoshop, Photoshop will not use the GPU. The Use Graphics Hardware checkbox in the Performance panel of the Preferences will be unchecked and disabled.
The first time the sniffer fails, Photoshop will display a dialog indicating that it has detected a problem with the GPU. On subsequent launches the dialog will not appear unless the Photoshop preferences are reset.
If the user corrects the problem, either by replacing the video card or by updating the driver, then the sniffer will pass on the next launch and the Use Graphics Hardware checkbox will be enabled and returned to its previous state (enabled or disabled).
Tested video cards for Photoshop CS6
Adobe tested the following video cards before the release of Photoshop CS6. This document lists the video card by series. While the minimum amount of VRAM supported on video cards for Photoshop CS6 is 256MB, some features require 512MB of VRAM to be enabled.
Note: Adobe tested laptop and desktop versions of the following cards. Be sure to download the latest driver for your specific model. (Laptop and desktop versions have slightly different names.)
    nVidia GeForce 8000, 9000, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500 series
    nVidia Quadro 400, 600, 2000, 4000 (Mac & Win), CX, 5000, 6000
    AMD/ATI Radeon 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000, 7000 series
    AMD/ATI FirePro 3800, 4800, 5800, 7800, 8800, 9800, 3900, 4900, 5900, 7900
Intel Intel HD Graphics, Intel HD Graphics P3000, Intel HD Graphics P4000
Note: ATI X1000 series and nVidia 7000 series cards are no longer being tested and are not officially supported in CS6 – some basic GL functionality may be available for both these cards.
Note: 3Dand some Open GL features are disabled on Windows XP, as stated on : http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/photoshopcs6/

I've had several timeout since the pings were started. Got a some response times > 1ms (nothing greater than 7 or 8ms), but no timeouts.

  • Crystal Server 2013: How to troubleshoot "Can not create temp file---- Error code:-2147215357"

We have a Java7 web app, which generate PDF report by calling Crystal Server 2013 SP4.
The app is being deployed on many different servers. We sometimes got the error below when generating report:
com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.lib.ReportSDKException: Can not create temp file---- Error code:-2147215357 [CRSDK00000615] Error code name:internal

    at com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.application.PrintOutputController.export(PrintOutputController.java:113)
Problem is, this seems to be  a pretty generic exception. It could be caused by many different reasons.
e.g. network connection problem, wrong DB login, wrong folder path, lack of folder access right, etc.
Each time we could only guess what's wrong.
We are running into it again, and this time everything seems correctly configured so far.
We wonder if there are more info we can get to troubleshoot? For example, any log file of Crystal Server we should look into? Or does Crystal Server has debug mode which prints more details to tell us what goes wrong?

    Hi Henry,
I believe you are using RAS SDKs to export the reports to PDF.
Apply trace on RAS server and check what you find in RAS logs.
Check whether you can see timeout error is RAS logs. Usually if connection is lost and the RAS server no more have the session to write to the temp directory, we do see these errors.
Also, does the account that runs RAS have permissions to create a file in RAS's default temp directory? Are you getting any out of memory or out of disk space exceptions on App server or RAS, tracing RAS server is the way to move forward.
    Thanks,

    Not on App server.
For RAS, that's the problem, I am not sure where to look.......

  • How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?

Starting with Flash Player 11.3, a protected mode was added as a new security enhancement for Firefox 4.0 and greater on Windows Vista and higher.  This security enhancement is designed to limit the impact of attacks launched from malicious Flash content (SWF files).  For additional details on this feature, please see Inside Flash Player Protected Mode for Firefox
After reviewing this FAQ, we'd appreciate if you would take a minute to let us know if it helped.  There is a link to a two question survey at the bottom of the page.
While we believe this feature is fully tested and reliable, if you encounter issues with Firefox we recommend the following troubleshooting steps.
Problem: Flash content does not appear, YouTube display errors such as "An error occurred.  Please try again later.", or Flash video will not function properly.
Solution: If RealPlayer is installed on your system, please disable the RealPlayer Browser Record plug-in.
    Launch RealPlayer
Click the RealPlayer icon in the upper left corner of the window and choose Preferences.
Choose Download & Recording from the left hand panel
Uncheck "Enable Web Download & Recording for these installed browsers"
    Click OK and close RealPlayer
    Restart Firefox
If you are viewing this page in Firefox and Flash Player is not working, please click here for an HTML5 version of this video: YouTube HTML5 HD Link
Problem: RealPlayer is not installed, Flash Player crashes in Firefox
    Solution:
Troubleshoot Extensions and Add-Ons by launching Firefox in Safe Mode
    1. Exit Firefox
    2. Click Start > Run
    3. Type the following then press [Enter]:
         firefox.exe -p
    4. Click Continue in Safe Mode
    5. Attempt to reproduce the problem
If the problem does not occur in safe mode, please try to isolate it down to an individual plug-in.
    1. Exit Firefox
    2. Re-launch Firefox
    3. Click Firefox > Add-Ons > Extensions
    4. Click Disable on all of your extensions
    5. Attempt to reproduce the problem, while enabling each extension until you can reproduce the issue
If the issue persists in Safe-Mode, please continue with the steps below:
Some users have indicated that random crashing stops when clearing their Firefox profile.  This step will allow you to temporarily test with a clean set of Firefox preferences, without losing your preferences.
    Exit Firefox
    Click Start > Run
Type the following then press [Enter]: firefox.exe -p
    Click Create Profile
    Click Next
In the Enter new profile name dialog, type "Test"
    Click Finish
Select Test and click Start Firefox
Use Firefox as normal.  If the problem goes away, clearing your Firefox preferences, or migrating the important settings (bookmarks, etc) to a clean Profile may be a good permanent solution.
If the problem persists, switch back to your old profile by doing the following:
    Exit Firefox
    Click Start > Run
Type the following then press [enter]:firefox.exe –p
Choose your old account (typically "default")
    Click Start Firefox
Solution: Try a clean Windows profile (You must be an Administrator to complete this step.  If your user account is not an admin type, skip to the next section for instructions on reporting a bug.)  Creating a new Windows user will rule out any account-specific preferences that may be enabled on your system.
Create a user account in Vista
Create a user account in Windows 7
Use Flash Player normally.  If the problem goes away, this indicates a compatibility problem, either with software you have installed or with preferences set on your account.
    Reporting a bug:
    Please file bugs at bugbase.adobe.com.
Choose "Adobe Flash Player" as the product
Choose "Browser Integration" as the product area
Please provide as much information as possible with what you were doing before the crash and an exact URL where the crash occurred.
If available, please attach your Firefox crash logs to the bug using the Attachments field.
Show hidden files and folders. For more details, see the instructions for the operating system that you use: Vista and Windows 7.
Crash logs are located at C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports\
Logs will be located in either the pending or submitted folder, depending on whether or not you submitted the crash report to Mozilla.
    Last resort
Finally, if these problems are blocking you from using Flash Player we recommend, as a last resort, you either revert back to Flash Player 11.2 or temporarily disable Protected Mode.  We strongly recommend that Protected Mode is manually enabled once this issue is resolved.
To revert to a previous version of Flash Player, please see this FAQ: How do I revert to a previous version of Flash Player?
To disable Protected Mode, add the following line to your mms.cfg file located in:
    Windows 32bit: C:\windows\system32\macromed\flash
    Windows 64bit: C:\windows\syswow64\macromed\flash
    ProtectedMode=0
If the mms.cfg file does not exist, create one using any standard text editor (e.g.. notepad)
Depending on your operating system, you might need to first save the mms.cfg file to a writable location (such as your documents or desktop folder) and then copy the file into the destination folder using Windows Explorer.
To re-enable Protected Mode, simply remove the line from the mms.cfg file.
Hopefully this FAQ helped you.  Please let us know by taking a minute to fill out this simple survey.

  • Firefox does not work after update, all troubleshooting has been completed. Nothing can be clicked, not even the options in firefox.

I am unable to use firefox after the latest update. All troubleshooting methods listed on the website has been tried. I am unable to click anything in the firefox, tabs don't work, options don't work, unable to launch diagnotics, help or anything from firefox. Basically, I am unable to access anything within firefox.

Did you try a new profile?
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
    See "Creating a profile":
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    *Firefox 23: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    *(32 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
    *(64 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

  • TS1538 Hi, I have the problem which iTunes cannot detect my iPhone 4s. I tried the steps you have provided in your troubleshooting, but it won't work for me because the Apple Mobile Devilce is perfectly installed on my windows.

Hi, I have the problem which iTunes cannot detect my iPhone 4s. I tried the steps you have provided in your troubleshooting, but it won't work for me because the Apple Mobile Devilce is perfectly installed on my windows. However, the driver "Microsoft teredo Tunneling adapter" has a yellow exclamation mark, which i believe means it's not installed correctly or something is wrong with it. This driver is under the Network Adapters (Please see picture below).
This is what happens when I connect my iPhone 4s to my laptop (Windows 7 Starter 32-bit)
    1. The phone charges it's battery
    2. I can open it in My Computer and import/export media files.
    In iTunes
    3. It start to sync until step 3 then stops.
    4. The iPhone option with an arrow appears beside the iTunes Store, but when the arrow is clicked it disappears.
I hope you can provide me a solution for this problem.
    Thanks,

    Hi ralphagir,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
For your iTunes issue with it not recognizing your iPhone, I would go ahead and suggest deleting iTunes and all of its components from your Windows computer and installing fresh.
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
Remove iTunes and related components from the Control Panel
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer:
    iTunes
