E&M with Motorola

Hello,
We have the following scenario: 11 sites for ISF that are being linked via microwave units. In each site we are installing a security router (security 2801) in order to provide the site-site VPN (DMVPN) between all sites.
We have in each site a Motorolla unit that has the E&M interface type. Each motorolla unit has to connect via its E&M port to our router (via the router e&M port), which is linked to the microwave units, that give a wireless connectivity to the main site.
In the main site there is a main Motorolla unit that has also E&M ports (which needs a main router that has E&M cards). So we have upgraded the routers in order to have the E&M card each, and several E&M for the main router, and to connect each router via this card to each Motorolla unit interface.
In the main site, motorolla unit has 11 E&M interfaces, each one should communicate with a specific E&M of one of the 11 edge sites. Which means E&M port 1 in the main site, should communicate directly & always for ex with Saida E&M port. E&M port 2 in the main site, should communicate directly & always for ex with Tripoli E&M port. All this will pass through our routers.
Is this feasible???

Thank you,
Can you please send me the configuration ?

  • Has anyone used Lookout 4.5 with Motorola MOSCAD?

If so, please send me an e-mail at [email protected] My question is, Can I use the ModbusMOSCAD driver to talk directly to a RTU in the field via radio without using a FIU or do I have to use and FIU and talk modbus to the FIU and let the FIU gather the info from the field?

Here's what the Lookout online help says:
The ModbusMOSCAD object class works with Motorola MOSCAD PLCs and RTUs. It also uses the Modbus Serial (ASCII or RTU) or Modbus Plus communication protocol, but its data members reflect the address of Motorola MOSCAD devices.
It looks like you should be fine using the modbusMOSCAD object in Lookout

  • Help!! How can I get my timemachine to work with motorola router

I just had comcast installed in home.  Apple router is not working with motorola sb510u

You may need to reset your broadband modem to convince it to connect to a "new" device.  Depending on the model of modem, that can be as easy as removing power for a few moments.  If that doesn't work, remove power and wait 15 minutes.  Further reset steps can involve pressing a "reset" button or removing a battery if the modem has one.  In the worst case, your ISP may need to edit its settings to update to the MAC address of the new router.  If they won't or can't do that, powering down the modem for 16 to 36 hours can reset the connection.

  • Why is syncing with Motorola phones so BAD?

By now I would have thought the leader in mobile phones (Motorola) and Apple would have their act together, especially since they share technology putting iTunes in the ROKR and SLVR and RAZR.
I just bought a new SLVR and the syncing is as bad as it was with my black RAZR:
    1. every phone number in Address Book gets a new contact in the phone, with an ugly -1, -2, etc. appended for multiple numbers belonging to 1 name
    2. Address Book photos don't sync
    3. iCal recurring appointments don't sync right-- they go to the phone, then on the next sync iSync thinks their new and adds them AGAIN to iCal in a messed up "detached" fashion (no longer recurring)
    3. Address Book companies are listed only by the person's name in that company (if one exists) when it should be listed by Company Name, or better yet, changeable as a preference
    4. company names have dashes in them instead of spaces
    5. Motorola apparently doesn't believe in middle names, prefixes, or suffixes in a name
I mean, come on. What does it take to program text fields properly? This is 2006. All new phones should be good enough to use as simple PDAs at this point, ESPECIALLY a new $400 phone from Motorola, an Apple partner. The **** thing comes with a 512MB memory card!!! Yet they still can't store a decent contact.

    1. Motorola Address Book model is based on phone numbers and not on contacts. One entry IS a phone number...
    2. Motorola phones DON'T SUPPORT REAL SYNC AT ALL... So every time iSync has to sync with the phone, it has to download all the contents of phone's Address Book and Calendar, compare it to what it "should be" (without forgetting that datas on the phone are a degraded version of Mac's data since Mac has a much much richer model for Address Book and Calendar). This explains, for example, why syncs with Motorola are much slower than with other phones and why iSync has to handle much problems and edge cases.
    3. Communication protocol provided by Motorola phones to access Address Book and Calendar is based on AT commands which is very (very) limited... many attributes (like contact pictures) can't be accessed or modified this way.
All in all... any minor iSync bug might have bigger consequences with Motorola phones.

How can I get the driver for pairing Zire72 with Motorola W385 phone with Bluetooth.

The Phonelink "Update" is years old, but has the latest drivers for Motorola phones.  It's available here:

Much depends on your cell provider - not all of them allow full access to their phones by outside devices...

  • Can I use my Airport Express with Motorola Modem SB6121?

I just bought a Motorola Arris SB6121 Modem and wonder if I can use my Airport Express at my main router. I live in a condo so it is not a huge space.
    Thanks!

After using a functioning system for 2 years, I am no longer able to connect through Airport Extreme base station to internet with Motorola SB6121. Hard wire connection with Motorola works fine. Connection to wireless network works fine (but without internet connection). Have flashing yellow light on Extreme. Have been online to diagnose and fix, but without success. Here's what I've tried. Disconnected power to Motorola and Extreme for 30 minutes. Disconnected coax cable from wall and from Motorola. Disconnected Ethernet cable from Motorola and Extreme. All of these steps were simultaneous.
Then 1) reconnected power to Motorola, 2) reconnected coax cable to wall and Motorola, 3) connected ethernet cable from Motorola to my PC laptop and 4) got to the internet just fine. Then I reconnected power to Extreme, 2) moved ethernet cable from laptop to Extreme, but 3) no internet connect available (altho wireless network is working and I am connected). Also I have tried plugging the ethernet cable into both the <--> and "O" ports on the Extreme without any benefit.
In Control Panel and Network and Sharing Center I see my connection to my wireless network, but no internet connection. When I connect Motorola to laptop with ethernet cable, I see "network 8" with internet access/connection. My laptop's wireless feature is on.
I downloaded and installed Airport Utility, but it does not see my Extreme either by wireless or cable connection directly to the Extreme)..
Do I need to "reset" Extreme?  BTW, I am a renter and the Extreme and Motorola have been in the apartment for 2 years working fine. I don't have any documentation for the Extreme that I might need for resetting. I hope it will do this automatically. Also, I am getting cable TV through Comcast. I do not have phone service through Comcast (cell only).
OK, this is probably more than you need to know, but I wanted to give you all the information toi address my basic question, "how do I get to the internet through my home wireless system?"
BTW, when cable connected to Motorola, speed shows 100 mbps.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Is there anyway I can get buy a Moto X customized phone?  I spent most of the day talking with Motorola and Verizon.. it seems the two companies need to have a chat on how  to freakn work together to order this phone online. I feel like a bunch of dementors sucked the life outta me, I need chocolate and alcohol to help me feel better... eeeek!

One thing that I finally had to do when I got my phone on MotoMaker was to buy it outright, after getting an account with Motorola--that way I could get a customized one with 32GB storage.  I recall that I could not get it in that size with the usual contract term with Verizon.  The Edge option for some reason was not available to me either, don't recall why.
But by buying it through Motorola credit, I could spread the purchase price over 12 months--kind of Edge lite.  Then when my contract status changed over to month-to-month instead of the old-fashioned 2 year system, my line charges went down to $15 per month,  as it would using the Edge option.

  • Very disappointed with Motorola Razr M AND VZW Run Around

I got the Motorola Razr M last December.  I picked the Motorola M because it was a nice compact size without compromising screen size and Motorolas are very durable phone....or so I thought.  I have had nothing but problems with this model phone.  I am on my 6th replacement.   I have had software problems and hardware problems.  Two "certified" replacement phones have had hardware defects upon being sent out to me.  The rest have had numerous software problems.  Verizon has been good about sending out replacement phones since I was under my 1 year manufacturers warranty..until this week when I asked if i could get a different phone sent out since this models seems to have so many problems.  I got a major run around and no follow up by a "management supervisor" who told me she would work directly with me to resolve the situation...she even gave me her direct number but ended up not being her number when I tried to call back.  I am not pleased with the way VZW has decided to handle this as I have been a loyal customer for 11 years.  I do blame the reps...I know they are doing their jobs with the boundaries that are set for them.  I just want a phone to work for the remainder of my contract with VZW.  I even tried to contact Motorola and they said since I bought the phone through VZW I had to work with VZW for replacements.  SO VERY FRUSTRATING!

You have actually helped me with a decision that has been driving me crazy for the past week.  I do not need nor do I want all or most of the above you mentioned.  Heck I hardly use half of that stuff on my home computer or I-pad.  I will definately stay with my basic phones that I can get calls, texts and take pictures.   Thanks again.

  • Can't get My Book AV 500 esata drive working with Motorola QIP-7216

Scenario1: When I connect external drive to DVR, I'm prompted on TV that external drive is connected, and it will be erased. Select "accept" or "reject". I click "accept", and nothing happens.
Scenario2: I go to "Enable More Storage", I follow the steps, and set-top box reboots. When the DVR comes back up, I still don't see the external drive under "Recorder Status".
Verizon tech support has been little help. When I first called, the rep had not idea about external storage functionality. The 2nd rep that I chatted with, replaced my DVR, this didn't help. The 3rd rep that I chatted with told me they couldn't issue commands to my DVR because it was during off hours.
So I've tried two DVRs, and no success.
    Tech details:
Western Digital My Book AV 500
    Motorola DVR QIP-7216-1, Release: 1.9, Build: 10.95
    Please help!

Hey, sorry you're having difficulties getting the external storage to work properly! I am not familiar with this particular drive, though I have heard of it. Is it a brand new drive you're using specifically for additional storage, or have you used it with a different device/computer previously? I'm wondering if it may be due to how the hard drive is partitioned/formatted. My suggestion would be to refer to the manufacturer instructions for formatting the drive within windows if possible, and once that's done, try it again on your DVR. Feel free to post back here or shoot me a PM to discuss further. Thank you!

  • Help with motorola update

So I got my ROKR and plugged it in... iTunes regonized it, i loaded it with music. Okay, looks good... but then I had the problem with the ringing (call drops, then won't quit ringing) - I knew about the motorola update, so I downloaded it and followed the directions on their website, but for some reason I cannot get the update to install... I've tried on both default connection settings on the phone... The found new hardware wizard opens up like it should, but then it can't find the drivers when it searches for them - when i then point the wizard to where they should be (c:program files/motorola/rokr update/) it still can't find anything... nothing i've tried seems to work. has anyone else had this problem? anyone even heard of it? any help would be great... thanks in advance,
    mike

I just tried installing the update and experienced the same problem. I ran the installer again and chose a new folder, not the one it reccomends and it installed everything properly.
    1. Make a ROKR folder on your "C:" drive
    2. Run installer and pick "C:\ROKR"
Give it a try, good luck.

  • HELP with Motorola MotoKRZR K1m

I purchased a Motorola (MotoKRZR K1m) phone and it syncs with Windows media player to get my music. When I browse to get all of my music files (that I Paid for), none of the iTunes music can be played by Windows Media Player?!? I tried changing the file extension to mp3 (as I think iTune files were Mp4?? but not sure of the extension) but it still wouldn't accept any of the iTunes music files. I have a ton of music that I paid for and cannot listen to on my new phone. Do I possibly need to change the extensions when I download from iTunes, maybe something to do with the codecs? Please advise as I know I can't be the only one with this problem. Loads of thanks!

You may have the problem as we who have Sony Ericsson
phones. This is what I posted recently.
" I too have a Sony Ericsson and exepereinced the
same problem. I contacted both Sony and iTunes. The
bottom line is that iTunes will not play protected
ACC files on the Sony phones. The folowing is from my
last reply to iTunes support (who by the way are very
helpful and have rapid turn around - Sony too on the
    phone were also A1).
    QUOTE:
I contacted Sony-Ericsson who informed me that they
have seen this problem before and even though they
support these format (MP4 -Acc) when files are
protected the phone cannot play the tunes and in
particular iTunes material. It would appear also that
iTunes protected files cannot play on many other
MP3/4 devices as they cannot be converted due to the
protection. This is line with the info found in the
reference you gave me (iTunes: About third-party
music players and AAC file support
    http://www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n93032
It would thus seem I will unfortunately have to
cancel my subscription to your service.
    END QUOTE:
So folks it seems you are not doing anything wrong -
the phones will just not work.
    Hope this helps. "
Suggest you call your Motoral support - they may know
    of this restriction.
What a total rip-off. The thing that annoys me the most is that I PAID for a ton of music from i-Tunes and in the end, I don't really own the music as THEY can decide what I can and can't do with it. I've talked to Apple and they blame the problem on Motorola which is bull. I too will no longer be purchasing any music from i-Tunes. It will probably be easier in the long run as I will not have to worry about who I can share or can't share my music with and no longer have to back anything up as I'll have the compact disc in my possession. Thanks for the heads up, I figured there was no way it was gonna work. Back to the good old days. Happy Holidays!!

  • Syncing photos etc with Motorola v235

I have a Motorola v235 with camera and mp3 but cannot be recognized by my Powermac G4 with OS 10.4.10 & isync 2.2- help?

There IS in fact an iSync Plugin for the V235.
    http://www.faqintosh.com/risorse/en/othutil/isync/plugin/motorola/
I've used it a couple of times under 10.3.9 (and it's actually for the 10.4 and up version of iSync, but it works LOL) but it does update the Calendar on the phone using iCal. It doesn't download any pictures or anything though. I've been looking for a program that would let me see it as a removable device in the Finder, so I could move files to it more easily.

  • Error in PIM API with Motorola

    Hello!
I am having a problem with PIM API in Motorola model K1 (W510). problem with the registration of the events (Event.commit () i guess),
When i try to register an event, it is throwing "javax.microedition.pim.PIMException:Internal error"
I have Motorola Certificate (java verified), but still doesn't work PIMException:Internal error when event.commit() is called. I really don't know what to do....if someone know something it will be very heplfull.!
Everything is working fine with PIM apart from the event registration.
    Thanks for reading it!!.
    Cya!!.

    Hi,
First of all, please note that when a exception is created by the callee, the caller is responsible for catching it!
Unless you implement exception handling around the call e.g. to UI API, e.g. the Microsoft Visual Studio debugger will always report an "Unhandled exception". This has nothing to do with what bothers you.
Instead you should wrap some exception handler around your call - like this:
    try
// connect to the SBO GUI application
      HRESULT hr = gui->Connect (<connection string>);
      if (FAILED(hr) ... <handle failure - except exception>
      ... <Get application object etc.> ...
    // handle exception here...
    catch (_com_error& e)
    ::MessageBox(this->m_hWnd, e.Description(), "Exception occurred", MB_OK | MB_ICONERROR);
...and see the information about the exception ...
    HTH,

  • How to config Time capsule remote access with Motorola SVG1202 router?

I'm having difficulty trying to congif Time capsule remote acces. I have a router Motorola SVG1202 and Time capsule config to Bridge mode, when I change Time capsule config to "DHCP and NAT", an error of "Double NAT" happens. How to correct this? Tried to search what to do exactly but no luck, appreciate anyone support.

Method 3 will work if you have a modem/router or gateway device, as it appears that the SVG1202 is......with the Time Capsule in Bridge Mode.
The method 3 has some differences from my Airport Utility options (v6.3.2), please if there are any image of the screen options would be helpfull.
You will not be using AirPort Utility to set up port forwarding for the Time Capsule, so as long as you can get the Time Capsule back to Bridge Mode, you should not need any additional help on AirPort Utiltiy 6.3.2.
Basically, all the setup will be on the Motorola device.
The first order of business is that you have a Static Internet IP address from your service provider. It is not practical to consider Method 3 unless you have this in place.
Then, the Motorola must be able to assign a fixed IP address to the Time Capsule on your network......probably something like 192.168.1.4.....for example only.
If the first two conditions can be met, the Motorola still needs to have the capability to set up Port Forwarding.  If it does, then you would set up Port 548 for both Private UDP and Private TCP.
Then set up a port number....example 8888.....for Public UDP and Public TCP.
Then, from your Mac, you would click the Finder Go menu and click Connect to Server
    Enter the following:
    afp://12.345.678.910:8888
The 12.345.679.910 is an example of the IP address that your provider furnished to you for your Internet connection with their service.
    Then, click Connect
