E-mail address format in cutomer master data invalid - how to store it ?

Hi,
we try to enter email-addresses in the form name.@domain. SAP checks according to RFC that the local part "name." is invalid because it contains a traling (or leading) dot.
So we get an error and cannot create the customer master using BAPI . But the customer wants us to do anyway.
Can we change (and how-to) the error message to Info message or is there any BADI or userexit for this?

this is no use.
An email address is built as <local_part>@<domain>
It is a rule that the <local part> of an email address must not start or end with a dot.
This rule is checked by a function in the address management of the SAP business partner.
That is what I know.
My question remains: How can we put those fake addresses into customer master data without the error.
We all know that those addresses are invalid. But the customer wants to keep them just as they have been sent to us.

Hello Ravi,
I do not see any email ID field in the cost center master. You may insert the ID in one of the available address fields. You may use LSMW or BDC to upload the same or even mass processing transaction KS12.

Yes, if you choose the Erase and Sync option (or restore your iPod) you will be allowed to sync your iPod with the new computer.

Outlook E-mail address format on IPhone not correctly displayed

I have MS Outlook 2007 and am synching my Outlook contact groups to my IPhone.
Any of the contacts e-mail's in the groups that I created look normal on the IPhone, but I copied a bunch of contacts from our Public folder contacts group into my personal Contacts group, and when I look at the contacts through Outlook the e-mail address appear fine, but when I view the contacts e-mail address from the IPhone, It shows all of the e-mail address in the full exchange mailbox directory name, not the regular e-mail address.
Below is an example of the format they are appearing in.
/O=PMA CONSULTANTS LLC/OU=PMA_DOMAIN/CN=RECIPIENTS/CN=<username>
Any Help would be appreciated. I have not tried this from any version of Outlook other than 2007 yet.

Right. Its an issue with how Outlook on an Exchange account handles email. It doesn't send the email out through the SMTP and then back in to the account. It just routes it to the address internally.
You'll need to modify the entires with the correct email in Outlook.

Go to XD01
Enter customer number (Which you want to extend) in "Customer" field.
Enter new Sales area you want to extend in to in below that.
Then enter same customer number in "Customer" field of "Reference" section
Maintain existing Sales area there.
Press Enter.
Go through each screen and validate data for new sales area.
Save

When I purchased my ipad I logged on with my hotmail address apparently it got hacked so was advised to change this I did but on the i pad the old e mail address remains as my icloud account name how do I change this ?

When I purchased my I pad at the store they advised me to log on with my hot mail address we did this and apparently found out that my Itunes account had been hacked. I was then told that apple would cancel my hotmail account and that I had to use a new email address which I did logged on everything has changed apart from the Icloud account which is still keeping the old e mail address as my id. Please can someone explain how to change this. When I look on my i pad there is a red bar that says delete account I was wondering if I deleted this would everything be ok if I started over again?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

Export Master Data BADI - how to setup?

Hi,
I want to setup a BADI in BPC to extract master data. The reason why i am not using the standard package to file is because i want to manipulate the data before it is output.
As I understand i can trigger the BADI via a script and pass variables to it.
Questions I have - I understand i need to use "EXPORT_MD_TO_BADI" but I cant find it? Is it a template code?

The file which needs to be output is to load a hierarchy into SAP BW from BPC. In the master data extract you get:
ID PARENTH1
A C
B A
C B
I need to change this file so it outputs something like the following
NODE       ID      OBJECT               PARENTID
1               A     0COSTCENTRE     3
2               B     0COSTCENTRE     1
3               C     0COSTCENTRE     2
I would like to make the BADI generic so we can use the following parameters:
1. name of the file we are output
2. dimension is selected
3. object field is set (can do that in trans file)
The UJD_RETRACT seems appropriate but
- can i pass parameters to it i.e. the above. I have seen i can do number 2 (dimension) but how do i set the file name?
- is it possible to drmatically change the file as i want to above?

1.Master data is one which doesnot change frequently...for ex...our name..Master data is data that remains unchanged over a long period of time.
2. Master data contains information that is needed again and again in the same way
3.Master data contains texts,,attributes and hierarchies.
For ex..Person ID,Person Name can be maintained as master data...
The technically validations can be explained in Star Schema..which uses dimension Tables and SID 's as main parameters..
some Points:
When you create a characteristic InfoObject, it is possible to assign attributes, texts, hierarchies, or a combination of this master data to the characteristic. If a characteristic bears master data, you can edit it in the BI system in master data maintenance.

When typing in an e-mail address the names appear in red. How can I remove this?

Apparently a red e-mail address does not allow the "to" party to respond to any of the "cc" parties. This is a problem, but I cannot remove the red type.

Unicode was set, but the problem persists. I have to type the "?" in word, then copy and paste to my e-mail to get the "?".

How to load the encrypted PGP file which contains credit card numbers into sap. we are dealing only with Travel mgmt.
requirement : Read Encrypted file in PGP format..Decrypt it and load ...finally when we view it shoud show only last 8 digits..
I have a rek which to load credit card numbers from file to HR employee data..but the data is coming in PGP encrypted format...
after loading the data only last 8 digits should display..
Please let me know what is the procedure to load ..does SAP has any standard functionality?

hello, we need to remove the dirty data from MDS, but we found we can only do this from MDS web, and we need to do this by store procedure to make this process automatically. is there any easy method to remove the data from MDS automatically? thank.

Hi Warren,
Assuming the dirty data is easily identifiable, all you need to do is use the staging process with import type of 5 (de-activate - i.e., soft delete) or import type of 6 (hard delete).
Could give more details if I knew the version of MDS you are running (SQL 2008R2 or SQL 2012).

UPTIL NOW...While using Peachtree Accounting, I click Email and it takes me to windows live mail account. NOW it wants me to set up a new mail address through some WIZARD from Firefox. How do I get back to my previous setup? can I just delete Firefox?

If it was Firefox 3.6, either your settings did not carry over or an add-on associated with this function was incompatible and therefore disabled.
If it was IE, do you want to continue using IE as your default browser?
