E-mail alerting CSM 4.1 and IPS 4240

Hello,
I have recently migrated from CSM 3.3 to CSM 4.1 on a new server. I have everything configured and working correctly, but the thing that I am missing is how to configure E-mail alerts based on attack severity. I had this configured on the old CSM 3.3 server, but it appears that this is not available under CSM 4.1??I have read through the documentation and compared my old configuration with the new and it is not obvious to me how to get this functionality back on 4.1.
CSM 4.1 that I have is the standard version, if that matters.
Any tips or assistance on this will be greatly appreciated!

Hello,
Unfortunately, CSM 4.x does not have the capability to send e-mail notifications for IPS alerts. An enhancement request has been filed for this feature, you can view the request here:

The workaround would be to set up Cisco IPS Manager Express and use the e-mail notification feature within IME.

Sync issues with Google Calendar and e-mail alerts

Hello,
I'm experiencing a lot of problems with iCal while I'm trying to sync it with Google Calendar. I have correctly inserted my Google account information into iCal, but:
when I create a new event and I disable the e-mail alert and save it, it automatically turns on the e-mail alert! Is there a way to disable by default all alerts? I have already tried to go to Settings - Advanced and select “Disable all alerts” with no result;
all the events I create into iCal are correctly synced with Google Calendar and I can correctly read them on the web app, but in my android device they don't have the time information (they are listed as all-day events)

Mails/Alerts-triggered for messages stuck in queues and failed in moni

Hi,
I have two doubts.
1) Messages are getting stuck in smq2 of my ECC and PI system. I have to manually push them. Is there any mechanism in which we can get alerts/mails when messages get stuck in queues.
I have already gone through the blog /people/santhosh.kumarv/blog/2009/05/19/sap-xipi-alerts-for-queue-errors and I have implemented it in ECC system. But no mails were generated.
2)Is there any method in which I can get alerts/mails when a message fails in sxmb_moni of ECC system?

Hi Sanjeev,
I made a report with the following code in it and executed it. So I think that should work even if the job for it is not scheduled. There were messages stuck in queue. But no alert was generated. I had also created alert category in ECC.

Louder tones for ringing, text and e-mail alerts

How can I increase the sound settings to make the ring tones, text & e-mail alerts louder? I have used the rocker switch on the side to turn up the volume to the max but I still miss calls and alerts. No I am not deaf either!! I am sure other users must face the same dilemma. Thanks. Colin.

i hate to point this out but with 1.1.4 and a non-hacked phone you can make custom ringtones for incoming calls - you have a selection of built in sounds for text msgs but no way of adding custom ones - for the other alerts you can just turn them on or off - you cant chose the sound they make

Problems with Mountain Lion. Have never had these problems previously. Have been a mac user since 1990.
iTunes no longer sends music to my airport express. NO FIX EXISTS !

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work.

I am trying to set up notifications in Calendars. I click "custom" and choose email. I get a message"You must add your own card and email address in Contacts to be able to use mail alerts." I have my own email address entered into Contacts, but don't know what this message intends, or how to deal with it. Please advise.

Configuring mail alert for status of Concurrent manager and Apache services

We have R12 (12.0.6)setup on our PROD EBIZ we want set mail-alert whenever concurrent manager or Apache services go down.
Can this be done through Oracle alert manager ....
Does anyone has a script thats works in oracle alert manager...
How do we configure the same in oracle alert manager.

Mail Alerts- Issue- Prime 4.2

Hello All,
While trying to troubleshoot mail alerts not receiving from DFM, i got the below error on both LMS and SMTP Server.
On SMTP server
250 HM02SQL01.test.com Hello [x.x.x.x]

550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for [email protected]
On Prime - SMTP log
Exception: You have entered an invalid mail address. (550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for [email protected])
I am not recieving any alerts from LMS. What could be the issue..?

Seems your Exchange mail server is not properly configured to relay messages.
If you are using windows AD check this :
Exchange 2003:
Open the Exchange System Manager
Go in Administrative Groups -> Administrative group name -> Server -> Server name -> Protocols -> SMTP
Right click on Default SMTP Virtual Server -> properties
Access tab -> Relay button
Select "only the list bellow" and add your domain and\or IPs you do want to allow the relay.
Check the "Allow all computers which successfully authenticate to relay, regardless of the list above" checkbox.
Exchange 2007:
For Exchange 2007, create a second receive connector for external addresses as described in How to Set Up SMTP Relay in Exchange 2007.
Check Microsoft's Exchange Archive as well.

IPS 4240 -email arlert configuration and Which mode

My topology
1)
Internet-router(2ISP terminated in Single Router-two different Firewall-(ASA5510 and PIX 515e)-->inside interface connected in IPS4240--->From IPS to L33750 Switch.
Is right place to put IPS4240 and tell me IPS in which mode(inline or Promiscous).
2) I am able to see log in IPS 4240, i want to configure IPS alert to my mail id , where i need to start the configuration.? pl advise

Email alert configuration is not supported in IPS/IDS.
I think you can configure in promiscuous mode as Customers requiring promiscuous mode (non-inline) deployments are encouraged to migrate to the Cisco IPS 4240 Sensor, which supports up to 250 Mbps of IPS throughput.

How can I turn off the New Mail alert on my iPod Touch?

I have an iPod Touch (version 6.1.3). The other day I was waiting for an important e-mail, so I turned on the New Mail alert. It worked fine. Now I want to turn it off, but I can't. I went into Settings and then to Sounds and changed the selection from the sound I'd selected ("Bell") to None. It says "None" but every time I get a new e-mail, it still makes the bell sound.
I also tried going into Notifications and then to New Mail Sound and setting it to "None" but that didn't change anything
Any ideas what I'm missing?

Try removing the mail totally from your notifications center.
I have everything turned off and the banner set to none.

My previous phone had a feature that the iPhone lacks. I used that feature to provide an alert that I wanted, and I'm wondering how to use features, app's, etc of the iPhone to recreate that alerting service.

1. My own Alert
I want to have an immediate telephone alert (of some kind) when an email arrives into my gmail account that is from a specific list of senders (like FROM: <SomeoneSpecial>@<MyGmailAcount>.com) or any e-mail to my business account ( <anyone>@<MyBusiness>.com ).
2. How I did it on the previous phone
I set up <MyBusiness>.com to forward any emails, and gmail to forward emails from my that someone special, to another e-mail address. That forwarding e-mail address was the e-mail address of the phone: <phone-number>@phone-provider.com (or something like that). Yes, those phones had an e-mail address and could directly receive e-mail. (I know that this is not the case for the iPhone.) The other phone would receive this e-mail as a "data" message, not an IM, so I didn't need or have text messaging on that phone. When it received such an e-mail, it would sound an alert, and I could see the e-mail on the phone.
In this way, I was able to know immediately when I received a high-value e-mail at my other e-mail addresses. Note: I did not give out or use the phone's e-mail addr for anything else, so anything coming in would only be these high-value messages.
3. *How to do it on the iPhone??*
<here's where you give me your ideas!> Please note: I use the iPhone's gmail app, and don't want to lose that (in case you come up with a solution that somehow conflicts with that). Also note that I don't want to receive an alert whenever I receive any e-mail, just those high-value ones.

Assuming you're in the United States (you didn't specify in your profile), your phone's e-mail address is your 10 digit phone number @txt.att.net. For example, [email protected]

How to send e-mail alert to the user job is successful or failed.

I have scheduled a job using DBMS_JOB Package; in this job I am calling a procedure.
How can we send an e-mail(alert) to the user if the job is successful (or) job fails.
If the job is successfully completed, then we have to send mail as “Job is completed successfully along with job name”.
If the job fails we have to send email as “error message of the job along with job name”(why the job is failed).
This alert should be sending automatically no manual intervention.

I think you can do by creating mailing procedures and call it in the loop and outside the loop.
There would be two procedure one in inside loop which will execute after successfull completion of the loop.
Other would be in the exception block like i shown in the below code you have written;
V_variable_1 you can use as a parameter for what is the error occured.

E-Mail alerts for queues in SMQ2

Hi,
In a asynchronous IDOC->ABAP Proxy scenario, some of the messages are getting stucked in the transaction SMQ2 in PI system.This happens only when we send 100 IDOCs to PI at the same time and only 5-10 messages are getting stucked with status as "Running". The remaining messages are processed and send to the target system.
I would like to know a solution to trigger an E-mail alert to a specific Mail id if any messages gets stuck in the queue for more than 5 minutes.
Do we need to configure CCMS to achieve this? If so, please let me know the steps.

If you want to set the mail alert to Managing Director for every transaction for customer & vendor Like for Customer Sales Order, PGI, Invoice , PO then maintain at all levels output type and at all levels for those output types assign the authorization as Managing Director
But for what purpose you want to assign the authorization member at all levels, what is your requirement?
