E-mail alerts in planning & essbase log

Hi All,
1).How to get the e-mail alerts in planning .
2).where can we find in detail log file in Essbase.
Bunny

Hi,
To set up e-mail for workflow notification.
In planning - Administration > Application Settings
Under System Settings in the E-mail Server box - enter the smtp server information.
essbase.log will be in arborpath directory e.g. C:\hyperion\AnalyticServices\essbase.log
Also there is a log file for each application. e.g. C:\hyperion\AnalyticServices\app\Sample\Sample.log
Cheers

I am looking for a download that was there on Hyperion forum download before Oracle buy out or some where. The download kit was to load Essbase Log to an Essbase Cube to help analyze the activity. Kit includes .rul file and base outline structure etc.
I will highly appreciate if anybody knows where to get it. Thanks in advance.
I know if I can spend some time I can development it but I would like use download kit rather than re-inventing the "wheel".

  • E-mail alert for sales managers.

    Dear all,
We are using SAP CRM 6.0. I was configuring e-mail alert for the managers whenever a transaction is created in crm. The mail is delvering but iam not able to send the object id and transaction category. Please help.

    I have the same problem!
I bought this phone specifically for this feature and I can't for the life of me get any alert for my Yahoo mail account.
I've downloaded the Yahoo App from the Nokia store and have checked the "activate e-mail alerts" box and that doesn't work.
I've logged into my Yahoo account and tried to connect it that way but there are no options to do so.
I've followed the link on the Yahoo site where they have sent a link to me via text to sync it that way and no joy.

  • Edit e-mail alerts generated by task lists

My client wants to customise the e-mail alerts generated to notify users of tasks due or overdue. I would like to know where the default messages are stored.
    Thanks

    In addition
please check the below guide and make sure you have done your configurations as per it.
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/be79a16b-0a01-0010-51b8-9b6d1968338d?overridelayout=true
we were having similar issues with CCMS and it was due to missing configurations in client 000 , we had instead done them in client 100,which may result cause some issues and not always trigger alerts.
In Rz20->SAP CCMS Technical Expert Monitors->CCMS SelfMonitoring and GRMG SelfMonitoring will give you more information.
CCMSSelfmonitoring will keep logs of all the errors which happened in CCMS itself,it mails are not triggered,it will have logs which shows why mails were not triggered.
    Thanks

  • Mail Alerts- Issue- Prime 4.2

    Hello All,
While trying to troubleshoot mail alerts not receiving from DFM, i got the below error on both LMS and SMTP Server.
    On SMTP server
    250 HM02SQL01.test.com Hello [x.x.x.x]
    mail from:[email protected]
    250 2.1.0 [email protected]...Sender OK
    rcpt to:[email protected]
550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for [email protected]
    On Prime - SMTP log
Exception:  You have entered an invalid mail address. (550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for [email protected])
I am not recieving any alerts from LMS. What could be the issue..?
    Quick help would be appreciated.

Seems your Exchange mail server is not properly configured to relay messages.
If you are using windows AD check this :
    Exchange 2003:
    Open the Exchange System Manager
Go in Administrative Groups -> Administrative group name -> Server -> Server name -> Protocols -> SMTP
Right click on Default SMTP Virtual Server -> properties
    Access tab -> Relay button
Select "only the list bellow" and add your domain and\or IPs you do want to allow the relay.
Check the "Allow all computers which successfully authenticate to relay, regardless of the list above" checkbox.
    Exchange 2007:
For Exchange 2007, create a second receive connector for external addresses as described in How to Set Up SMTP Relay in Exchange 2007.
Check Microsoft's Exchange Archive as well.
    -Thanks

  • Auto mail alert on ID lock

    Hi All,
I am looking to send auto mail alerts to user when the ID is locked due to incorrect logon attempts or advance mail alert if the ID is about to expire in couple of days.....I was expecting that SAP ECC provides standard way to deal with this as any other application....
It so happens that the user comes to know about the ID expiration on the day when he tries to logon and the pain going through support process waiting for day to get it resolved.......There should be proactive way to deal with this kind of situation so that the user is alerted in advance without causing business impact waiting for it to be resolved...
Any suggestions on how this can be achieve???
    Regards,
    Milan

There is nothing in standard, but it is very easy to implement on your own if you need it. I also found a way to lock / unlock in intervals (try the factory calendar...) and the user BAPI's can do just about anything which SU01 can do as well.
A downside to that which you are attempting is that a mail alert to tell someone that their password has been locked or is about to be locked would "trigger" them to logon only for the purpose of keeping the account alive. Some people do this anyway and is the wrong motivation for a person to keep their user ID in the system. So your users will start appearing to be more active, where in fact they are not actually using the system.
If for your levels of user activity and intervals (e.g. quarterly planning) the policy is too strict, then you can either relax the policy or use user groups to isolate one of them as an execption.
There was at least one question asked before which provided many details on how and why to do this. Just make a simple search.
    Cheers,
    Julius

It's very starnge because nothing was changed, any patch or software upgrade, simply they appear as above.
Anyone can help me find explanation and possibly solve this problem eliminating messages?
    Thanks
    Vox

    Hi,
I think that this was the point Jay was trying to make. Sendmail is usually installed by default on Solaris based systems.
Chances are a program/script attempted to use the sendmail program to send an outgoing email and for some reason this caused an error which was reported in the logs.
You can send an email using this program using the following:
    /usr/lib/sendmail <some address>
    <Contents of email>
There doesn't have to be a sendmail daemon for sendmail to run as a program.
Either way, it isn't a problem with JES.
    Cheers,
    Shane.

  • Why are there no sounds located in the Library/Sounds folder in Home Directory? My Mail alerts, etc

Why are there no sounds located in the Library/Sounds folder in my Home Directory? Since upgrading to Mountain Lion most of my sounds are not working, in my Mail alerts, etc.

Did you put any sound files there? Because if you didn't, that will explain why it's empty.
The ~/Library/Sounds folder is where any sound files that you add go, and they are only available to you as the "logged in" user (if you have other users with their own accounts, they each have their own ~/Library/Sounds folder). Apple doesn't put anything there.
The sounds that come with Mac OS X will either be in the /Library/Sounds folder (which is the shared location for all users) or the /System/Library/Sounds folder (don't mess around with anything in the /System folder!).
But I doubt your problem has anything to do with the sound files. Try deleting your sound preferences file, or even just clicking around in the Sound system preferences until they start working again (seriously - I had one Mac that had some audio problems after upgrading, and just turning things off and on a few times eventually worked. It seemed somehow tied to Dictation, so try twiddling those settings too).

  • Yahoo mail alert feature

I recently started using Mail and have linked a Yahoo/SBC mail account to it. Before doing this, Yahoo is our homepage, and on the Yahoo page, if we were logged in, a little alert would appear if you had new mail. Now, although Mail does leave the messages in our Yahoo account (don't ask, we want it to do that, we're happy about it) we no longer receive alerts on the Yahoo page that we have new mail. Is there any way to change this?
I know it doesn't make a lot of sense, as Mail alerts you when you have new mail, but this is the request of my friend and boss....

It sounds like your e-mail client is downloading your e-mail to your computer and not storing a copy in your SBC webmail which is why you would no longer see the new mail notification. You can configure your email client so that all messages received are stored on your computer and removed from the SBC Yahoo Mail servers. Once removed from the mail servers, messages are no longer available via Web Mail.

  • LOM, ALOM, RSC, ILOM mail alerts

    Hi,
I just want to get to the bottom of this. Anyone else who experiences problems with ALOM/RSC/ILOM/LOM email alerts please post here!
I have done an audit of all my systems and found the following:
    T5220 with latest firmware:
    Sun System Firmware 7.2.0 2008/12/11 17:58
    Host flash versions:
    Hypervisor 1.7.0 2008/12/11 13:38
    OBP 4.30.0 2008/12/11 12:15
    POST 4.30.0 2008/12/11 12:43
    Mail alerts work fine here
    T2000 with latest firmware:
    Sun-Fire-T2000 System Firmware 6.7.0 2008/12/11 14:54
    Host flash versions:
    OBP 4.30.0 2008/12/11 12:15
    Hypervisor 1.7.0 2008/12/11 13:43
    POST 4.30.0 2008/12/11 12:41
Mail alerts do not work. Sun advises me to
change my Production mail server to allow
    broken sender header "[email protected]".
    This is not good enough.
    V240 with ALOM 1.6.8:
    Mail alerts work fine.
    V490 with RSC 2.2.2:
    sc> showsc
    RSC Version: 2.2.2
    RSC Bootmon version: 2.2.2
    RSC Firmware version: 2.2.2
    Email alerts work fine!!!!
    V490 with RSC 2.2.3:
    rsc> showsc
    RSC Version: 2.2.3
    RSC Bootmon version: 2.2.2
    RSC Firmware version: 2.2.3
    Email alerts do not work.
So we have a case where Sun RSC is broken from RSC 2.2.3 onwards.
We have a case where the ALOM on a V240 works perfectly but the T2000 is totally b0rked and
Sun is not interested in fixing it.
So can anyone concur with my findings? Do we sort of get together and request
    en-masse to get these fixed?
It would seem the programming of the SC/ALOM/ILOM/RSC are all inconsistent.
Some of them are well behaved. Some are configured in such a way I would
fail anyone submitting such work as homework etc.
I honestly believe if a service such as an RSC is setup to send email,
it should do it in a method that ensures as little risk of non-delivery
as possible, such as being able to set a hostname/domain for the sender.
As is indicated above, it appears the precedent is set for the technology
to be able to do so, but there is an inconsistent approach to this in the
Sun shop where the RSC/LOM etc are developed.
So while we're at it, how about Sun standardising the RSC across
their product line so we only have to use and support one interface?!

    Problem
Email alerts from ILOM not working. Test box is a T5140.
    Complication
ALOM systems using the same email server have no problem.
    Analysis
ILOM changed the format of the email address.
    Old [ALOM] = alom-alert@[alom_IP]
    New [ILOM] = ilom-alert@ilom_IP
The one that works has [] surrounding the IP.
Note: the other problem was that under certain firmwares, the “Send Test Alert” function in the GUI was broken. As this is how I tested ILOM email functionality, I thought it was broken when only the send mechanism was broken.
Paul Quattrociocchi from Sun found this:
    Document ID:     6633026
Title:     Unable to use e-mail alert notifications via ILOM due to
    IP domain in address
For example, sendmail v8.9+ will not accept "domain literal" address
([ipaddress] is a domain literal). But it does accept "@1.2.3.4"
    Just fine.
So some mailers accept @1.2.3.4, some accept @[1.2.3.4]. But it
doesn't look like we can be guaranteed that any one style will work.
CR 6410008 is the same as the ILOM issue. They fixed it by quoting
RFC 2821 and changing the address to "ilom-alert@[10.100.14.104]".
The mail server that was failing showed the following in its logs [I’ve removed the SMTP server and client ILOM info]:
    Feb 25 10:53:22 SMTP_server postfix/smtpd[29222]: [ID 197553 mail.info] connect from ILOM_card
    Feb 25 10:53:22 SMTP_server postfix/smtpd[29222]: [ID 947731 mail.warning] warning: Illegal address syntax from ILOM_card in MAIL command: ilom-alert@IP_address
    Feb 25 10:53:22 SMTP_server postfix/smtpd[29222]: [ID 197553 mail.info] disconnect from ILOM_card
Fix [this is specific to the T5x40 but there are likely releases for other platforms]
    Document ID:     139444-01
Title:     Hardware PROM: SPARC Enterprise T5140 & T5240 Sun System
    Firmware LDOMS
    Sun System Firmware 7.2.0 2008/12/11 18:19
    ILOM 3.0.2.50 Dec 11 18:19:11 PST 2008
    VBSC 1.7.0 Dec 11 2008 17:20:47
    Hypervisor 1.7.0 2008/12/11 13:40
    OBP 4.30.0 2008/12/11 12:16
    POST 4.30.0 2008/12/11 12:44
From the GUI you select update ILOM, but it updates everything.
This allows you to change the format of the return email address to something the SMTP server will accept.
    The short-term fix
Change email servers to one that accepts the new format [no guarantee this will keep working].
If you set the sc_clieventlevel to 3 [minor] and do something, anything, that triggers an event [logging in to the GUI, logging out of the GUI, etc], you will cause email to be sent.

  • Alert Email notification for Log file alerts

    Hi,
    Scenario: SCOM 2012 R2 UR4.
There are created unix/linux log file monitoring objects. In SCOM console I can view alerts related to unix/linux log file monitoring. Email notification is: Warning or Critical for severity, and, Medium or High for priority. The alerts for unix/linux log
file are severity warning and priority medium.
In my inbox there are emails for alerts (Warning or Critical for severity, and, Medium or High for priority) except for unix/linux monitoring.
    The question is:
How to enable email notification for unix/linux log file monitoring?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello,
If you go into the "Subscription" in the Notifications section of the Operations Console\Administration, you should be able to see the Description of the subscription criteria.  Could you copy paste that in a reply?
    Thanks,
    Kris
