E-Mail and Podcasts deleted after sync

Recently all of my older e-mails and podcasts (unlistened to) were automatically deleted after syncing my iPhone to iTunes. All podcasts were set to keep all episodes, so there should be no reason for this. Anyone have any ideas?

Go to the Messages application. Hit the menu key and select Options. Select General Options. Scroll down to where it says "Keep Messages" and set as desired.

Go to iTunea>Preferences>Devices and see if there is a backupright at the time you did the update. Then try restoring from that backup. If the apps are in your iTunes library, any app data will be restored to the iPod.
When restoring from an iOS 4 (or later) backup, if the device had a passcode set, iTunes will ask if you want to set a passcode (and remind you that you had protected your device with a passcode). iTunes will not ask you to set a passcode when restoring from iOS 3.x and prior backups.
Therefore, remembe the passcode that you enter this time.
It appears that if you restore from a backup, that backup is not subseqyently overwritten by the next backup.

Mail and Apps problems after first iTunes 10 sync

After what appeared to be a normal sync, several apps were missing from both my iPad and the iTunes app page on the host computer. Among the missing apps were App Store and iTunes, and there seems to be no way to download them. In addition, the Mail app now can receive but not send emails, in spite of multiple reentries of connection parameters.
Reloading iTunes 10 on the host computer had no effect. Restoring the iPad had no effect. Any suggestions?

No, a restore to new will result in only the original app that came on the iPad with none of your personal data or apps. I suggested that because there may be something wrong with your backup or something wrong with the iPad. If everything works fine with the as-new condition then there is probably something wrong with the backup. Before you do that you might want to get your data off the iPad via email or some other way so you can get it back later. Your apps will still be in iTunes and then can be synced back to the iPad. Also, if you ever need to, you can re-download app at no additional cost as long as you are signed into the iTunes account that originally purchased the apps.

Outlook 2010 duplicates mail with setting Leave mail on sever, Delete After n days and pressing Send/Receive All folders

The setting Leave mail on the server and Delete after n days and Pressing Send/Receive all folders causes outlook 2010 to duplicate all mails of the last n days over and over again.
If I leave outlook 2010 open this problem does not occur, mail will be retreived without a problem. If I leave Outlook 2010 open for a long time and then press Send/Receive all folders it does work ok. If I restart Outlook 2010 and then press Send/Receive
all folders the problem occurs.
The pst file is a new one. OTher mail accounts that do have Leave mail on the server but not Remove after n days do not have the duplicating behaviour.
I have manually removed 6400 duplicate mails, if Microsoft does not solve this urgent problem soon I need to remove Office 2010 from my computer and go back to Office 2007, Office 2007 worked fine for me.
Is there a solution fir this problem, or a free tool to remove all duplicates?

I suggest creating a new Outlook profile, and create the problematic account in the new profile, to see if the problem occurs.
Here are the detailed steps on how to create a new profile to test this issue
==============
1.    Exit
Outlook.
2.    Go to
Start > Control Panel, click or double-click
Mail.
Mail appears in different Control Panel locations depending upon the version of the Microsoft Windows operating system, Control Panel view selected,
and whether a 32- or 64-bit operating system or version of Outlook is installed.
The easiest way to locate
Mail is to open Control Panel in Windows, and then in the
Search box at the top of window, type Mail. In
Control Panel for Windows XP, type Mail in the
Address box.
Note    The Mail icon appears after Outlook starts for the first time.
The title bar of the Mail Setup dialog box contains the name of the current profile. To select a different existing profile, click Show Profiles, select
the profile name, and then click Properties.
3.    Click
Show Profiles. Choose Prompt for a profile to be used.
4.    Click
Add.
5.    Type a name for the profile, and then click
OK. Please also follow the onscreen instructions to create the email account in this profile.
6.    Start
Outlook, and choose this new profile.
If this problem does not occur in the new Outlook profile, the old Outlook is corrupted. We can delete that and use a new Outlook profile.

IBooks and podcasts won't sync between iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro

I have an iPad 2, an iPhone 5s and a MacBook Pro (Mavericks) - all are on the cloud and wifi sync, all permissions are there, settings are correct. The iBooks issue I had was between the MacBook and the iPad - I put some PDF files into iBooks on my MacBook and when I went to the iPad they were not there. Even after syncing, connecting directly to the MacBook via USB - nothing. They are there now, but I have no idea how that happened. I tried that a week ago.
This morning on my commute into work, I added a couple of podcasts to the Apple podcast app on my iPhone 5s. When I got into the office and went to the podcasts app on my iPad, they were not there. Even after syncing on wifi (I don't have my MacBook with me so I haven't tried direct syncing).
Am I misunderstanding how the wifi syncing works altogether? Or is my iPad the issue? Any help is appreciated!

If you are having an issue with syncing your new iPhone with the information that is in iCloiud (and on your other devices) we should make sure that iCloud is set up correctly on the iPhone. See this page for directions -

Mac mail and gmail are not syncing

I just bought my very first mac computer, the MacBook Pro. I set up my Mac Mail to my gmail account. My gmail account won't sync up to my macmail though. All the messages are there as well as my contacts and the mac mail receives new emails when I get them, however they are not synced up. For example, when I delete a message in mac mail, it doesn't delete on my gmail account and vice versa. How do I get it so the two are synced?

I am having same issue. This is a new development as I don't recall it doing this before. I was using the delete button in mail and this would archive the message (my desired behavior)...
not sure why there aren't moving out of gmail's inbox...is it possible Google is working on something behind the scenes?
Fixed this one issue (at least for my setup)...
It's a little misleading but it's the advanced imap settings in gmail's settings that was throwing me off...
Under the the "expunge" settings
x Immediately expunge messages when I mark them deleted in IMAP
Do not automatically expunge messages
Makes the "delete" button in Mail "archive" the message and move it to "All Mail"

Makes the "delete" button in Mail remove it from the folder in Mail, but not in Gmail, unless it's a message that is expunged from the last visible IMAP folder, then it goes by the second set of settings (archive, trash, delete immediately) that are only available if "do not automatically expunge messages" is chosen...

Can I change the default for podcast deletion after listening?

I have only just discovered that many of my cherished podcasts have been getting deleted after I listen to them. I originally set the option to NEVER delete after listening when I first installed iTunes years ago and I haven't change it since. However, I can only assume that it was changed by Apple during an upgrade at some point and I never noticed. The delete after listening option has been set to On for podcasts going back many years (2008 at least).
Two questions:
1. Is there some way to change the default setting to Off?
2. Is there a way to bulk change the setting for multiple existing podcasts?

You lost them from the iPad, or from the Mac(Book) Pro?
If you lost them from the iPad, yes, you can restore your last backup from iCloud. Settings - iCloud - Backup - Restore.
Note that you can always re-download apps from the App Store, and music from the iTunes Store, for free, if they are accidentally deleted.

Podcasts corrupted after sync?

I've been having a problem where my iPhone podcasts seem to be corrupted in some way after I sync my phone. When I look at my list of podcasts, many of them don't display their running time, and can't be fast-forwarded/rewound when they're being played back. Instead of a time, the following is displayed: "--:--" (where it would normally be something like "45:23".
Note that when I download a podcast directly on the iPhone and DON'T sync, everything behaves as usual. I've experienced this issue across multiple versions of iTunes, and even between iPhone OS 3 and iOS4. Any suggestions/workarounds?

Same problem here. When syncing my iPhone 3GS with iTunes on my PC Win Vista 32-bit, the sync completes, but nothing changes on my phone-iPod.
However, when downloading directly to my phone not using my PC-iTunes, everything is fine until I sync again - after syncing my iPod is empty again.
No error messages whatsoever. Sometimes it says that some Podcasts are corrupted, but sometimes again they are ok?!
iTunes diagnostics says everything is ok.
I don´t get anything into my iPod, not even music.
Grateful for any help ... out there?

PARTIAL CONTACTS DATA DELETED AFTER SYNCING

After syncing iphone 3gs with PC, noticed a portion of my data in the notes field in my Contacts is missing. I tried to re-sync twice and data is still missing. This has never happened before. Please advise.

If your using a Mac then the contacts are saved in Address Book. Depending on how you sync the contacts regardless of whether they are created on your iphone or computer should dissapear when deleted.
From memory in Windows there is a Contacts folder in your My Computer folder so i guess they would be saved there.
I had exactly this issue a couple of weeks back - around the time I upgraded to OS4.
I sync using mobileme and I when I connected up my iphone to itunes I ended up with a ton of old contacts back on my phone - some of which I deleted months ago and were never on my iphone in the first place (but were on address book)!
I also know for a fact that those deleted contacts were not present in Address Book at the time of the iphone duplication so it couldnt have been because they were on AB but not on my iphone - so I have spent a while going through all my contacts and deleting the duplicate contacts of those I used and completely deleting up to 3 of each contacts i no longer use and deleted months ago!

BB Z10 - contacts stopped syncing with Office 365 - e-mails and calendar are still syncing fine

I have had my BB Z10 for over a month and e-mails, calendar and contacts were syncing great from my Office 365 account. E-mail and calendar still sync but I have lost all connectivity to the contacts. Nothing shows up from Office 365 (my other contacts show up ok from LinkedIn etc.).
Help as this is a critical function on my phone. I can't call or e-mail anyone if I don't have their contact information.

With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
2) Delete and Resend Service Books (pre-BB10 devices only)
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
3) Reboot
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. IF this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your configurations for the affected accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.

Contact, Calendar and Notes Disappeared after Sync

Please help!
After sync Contacts, Calendar and Notes to pc (Outlook), all are disappeared in iPhone but can't find them too in the pc. Have opened Outlook to retrieve the data but still can't find there.
However pic, videos and apps are found both in iphone and pc after sync.

Did you previously ever open Outlook on your computer before?
If not, you may have lost your information.
You could possibly restore your iPhone from a backup.
Check if there is one first.
You can do that by going to Edit-> Preferences in the iTunes program
From there, click on Devices, and you will see a list of backups that were created.
To possibly get your contacts back, you could restore from a back-up and attempt a sync again.

I can't open messages, mail, and podcast won't play.

Since the most recent update, I can't open messages or mail. I've double clicked the home button and swiped them off to restart. For both, the screen stays white for a few seconds and kicks me out. My podcast wont play and I've been trying to set up apple pay and can't find pass book in my settings. Can any one suggest a fix?

Go to  > Force Quit or press Alt, Command and Esc keys, select Mail and force quit it. Finally, turn off your Mac.

10.7 Mail and exchange issues after time machine restore

Hey all,
Trying to figure out what the problem is with mail
Background
- was running 10.7.1
- had mail configured with exchange no issues what so ever.
- hard drive failed and I restored with time machine using the recovery hd partition in Lion
- mail started having issues
Issues
- mail doesn't push over. It check on the default 5 minute increment
- mail stop working
- folders don't update
- have to restart mail
- mail redownloads all the message again
what i have tired
- disk utility - single user mode
- removing the mail folder ~/Library/Mail
- removing the mail preferences in ~/Library/Preferences
- recreating all mail account by deleting the above. Works for a bit then has the same issue the longer mail is open.
any help would be appreciated.
