E-Mail : Catching the Out of office info.

I have a forms application and when I make some chage like , change of password I used to send an e-mail. Now my problem is is there any way or method for sender to receive a mail in Outlook if one or more colleagues are not in office (absence note should be forwarded to Sender).
Thanks in advance..

If you use an actual Outlook account to send your emails, this account will automatically get the out of office reply. E.g. make an Outlook account [email protected] and use this to send the emails.

  • Apple Mail and Exchange Out of Office Not Working

Has anyone had issues with Yosemite Mail and setting Out of Office for Exchange 2010?
I can set Mail to send Out of Office replies but cannot change the scheduled dates from 2/12/1982, 10:00 AM. Even when I do set it, it does not seem to send the OOO notifications. I can set it just fine on my iPhone 6 and Mavericks Mail worked fine for setting the OOO.
I deleted my account several times and reset it and I can get all my Mail back just fine but OOO still doesn't work correctly. I wanted to try to change the server settings but Mail doesn't allow you to do that for auto connect Exchange accounts.
Because of this (and my concern with reported issues with updating meetings), I switched back to Outlook 2011 until these bugs get ironed out. This is too bad because I love the notifications feature for Apple's programs.
    I'm running on a 2014 13" MacBook Pro.

Same issue here. I can see these error messages repeating when I'm trying to change the date.

    hi all,
I have created an report and scheduled for background and it generated a spool now how i can send a mail to the user SAP Office mailbox through that spool.
please provide me the sample code if possible.
                   thanks.

Read the spool number with this...
        SELECT RQIDENT
        INTO (T_TSP01-RQIDENT)
        FROM TSP01
        WHERE RQOWNER EQ SY-UNAME
          AND RQCLIENT EQ SY-MANDT.
        APPEND T_TSP01.
        ENDSELECT.
Use this FM RSPO_IRETURN_RAW_DATA to read the content of the spool into an Internal Table...
Finally use this FM SO_OBJECT_SEND to send the mail to an SAP Office user...

  • How do I put an 'Out of Office' automatic response to incoming mail please?

I cann't see how to put the 'out of office' message on when on vacation. Please help?!

Using the "rules" method requires that Mail stay running while you are gone and is prone to problems. The biggest problem arrises when you start an "out of office war" with another contact who has done the same thing. Both of your email clients will continually bombard each other with replies.
The best way to set that up is on your email provider's server. You can do this with an Exchange account (in the Account Info settings from within Mail, I think). For an iCloud account, you can set it on the www.icloud.com website under Mail settings.
For other accounts, you will have to ask your email provider.

  • Apple mail out of office rule is sending auto replies to all emails not just newly received emails--HELP!

Apple mail out of office rule is sending auto replies to all emails not just newly received emails--HELP!  I set up the rule according to another apple support thread and instead of only sending the reply to new mail received, it was sent to all messages I believe that were in my INBOX, thankfully I only had a few but several people that hadn't sent me emails since I set up the rule, received the OUT OF OFFICE reply.  Please help.  Here is the procedure I followed for the out of office rule-
    http://www.ecu.edu/cs-itcs/mac/Apple-Mail-Out-of-Office-Replies.cfm
I just used my email account which is a business account- not an ECU account but these rules according to the apple thread apply for all emails. Thank you

    You can set it easily...
To access this feature in Apple's Mail app, right click on any sub-folder (like your exchange inbox on the left) and choose "Get Account Info." A window will pop up that looks like the one below. Make sure to select your Exchange account from the Account dropdown. Then click on the Out Of Office tab. If you have ever put in an Out of Office message in the past it will be displayed here. You can adjust and set your Out of Office from Apple Mail from within this tab.

  • Outlook 2010 Mail Tips Could Not Be Retrieved / Out Of Office Doesn't work too.

    Hi,
We have a small set up with 5 pc's and 1 server. All of the workstations are exactly the same.. specs,OS,software etc...
One of the users is currently experiencing "Mail Tips Could Not Be Retrieved" issue.
It shows up right above the SEND button when replying or sending a new e-mail.
Also Out Of Office / Automatic Replies function does not want to work as well. It asks me to try again later cause the server is not responding.
The funny thing is that this is happening only to a single user.
    Here is what I've tried:
    - Tested E-Mail AutoConfiguration - Autodiscovery works fine and points to the right directory.
    - Deleted the profile and recreated it ... didn't work
    -  Added the same mailbox to another computer - IT WORKED
    - Checked all the SSL settings for each virtual folder in IIS and they are all set to IGNORE the certificate.
The other strange thing is that when I try to download the OAB from the affected PC a credential window pops up and asks for the username/password
of the particular mailbox.. Once I enter them the "Mail Tips could not be retrieved" message disappears and Out Of Office is accessible and ready to be used.
Maybe Outlook 2010 setting or registry value ?

This sounds like an authentication issue for the Autodiscover/EWS URLs and your last paragraph basically confirmed it.
Is this PC domain joined and is this user logging on with his domain credentials and not locally to the computer?
Is the user able to access:
    https://autodiscover.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml
    or
    https://domain.com/autodicover/autodiscover.xml
An xml-page should be returned with ErrorCode 600 Invalid Request.
Is there a TMG or UAG server involved here?
Also check the proxy settings in Internet Options (if configured/required).

  • Exchange 2013 - OWA "Something Went Wrong", Out of office in Outlook "Server unavailable"

    Hi,
We have a new deployment of Exchange 2013 CU2 V2 running on a Windows 2012 server.  Everything has been running without issues and then without any real clue to why, we are now getting an issue where OWA says "Something Went Wrong" after processing
your login, (it appears to process the login as if I type in incorrect details it tells me the password/username is wrong).
At the same time we have also lost the ability to run the Out Of Office in Outlook which comes back saying the server is not available and we can't seem to share calendars correctly either.  (Can set Out Of Office via the Management Shell without issues).
When running a Get-Serverhealth on the OWA.Protocol it tells me the OWASelfTestMonitor is unhealthy.
I've tried re-creating the OWA, EWS Virtual Directorys and also the autodiscover but with no effect.  I've also restarted the server.
Outlook 2013 and mobile phones are working fine on the server and the Exchange Admin Centre is also working without issues.
I am getting tempted to apply CU2 again to see if this sorts it but don't really like doing this on a server with 50 live users on it...

    Hi Angela,
I can't see any re-directions on the website and have certainly not set any intentionally.  I did try installing the Remote Web Gateway on the server and then found that it doesn't work on an exchange box and removed it but the server was working after
    this.
The HTTP Redirect in Default Web Site is not showing anything set and the same for the Back End.
    The bindings on the default site all look normal with;
    http     80   127.0.0.1
    https   443  127.0.0.1
    http     80    *
    http    443   *
The same is mirrored in the Exchange Back End site but with ports 81 and 444.
Running the Outlook auto configure just using Autodiscover all looks good with the URLs listed all pointing to (http)://mail.mydomain.co.uk/whatever...  and the log says Autodiscover to (https)://mail.mydomain.co.uk/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml Suceeded
    (0x00000000)
    But, if I type in the OOF address of (https)://mail.mydomain.co.uk/EWS/exchange.asmx I get a login prompt but once user details are entered I then get;
'.', hexadecimal value 0x00, is an invalid character. Line 1, position 1.

  • Issues with Global Address Book and Out of Office saying Exchange is Offline.

So we have an Exchange 2010 server that has been running fine for quite a few years. We recently changed our firewall to an ASA 5510 and created all the firewall rules necessary to have email work through it. Everything works fine so naturally we thought
    everything was good to go.
Then I started getting messages that the Out of Office wasn't working an that when users where trying to set their away message they would get a message from outlook that the exchange server was unavailable, yet when I
check the outlook client it would say Connected to Microsoft Exchange at the bottom. I thought this was crazy so I started looking further into it and it turns out that the name for the server owa.xxxxxx.net points to a public address, which of course lives
on the outside interface to the ASA. In ASA world it doesn't like private space (ie. 192.168.x.x) talking to the outside interface and drops the packets, where our old firewall did not. So as a short term fix I had the users using OWA site with a internal
address to set their out of office message. This worked fine until today when I rebooted the email server and started getting support calls saying that when users where selecting the To: button in a new email that once again they were getting messages saying
that they were not connected to exchange, yet they once again outlook said they were. I then started playing with the host name owa.xxxxxx.net again. This time I changed the hosts file on a box and pointed the internal IP of the exchange server to that
host name. Restarted the outlook client and things started to work as they should. I have played with split DNS to see if this would help so I wouldn't have to do this with every client in the network, and it was promising until I realized that we many hosts
that use this domain and an external DNS server that takes care of these requests that now the internal users will never reach. Funny part is that if we take one of our laptops out side the network everything works fine as well.
So I'm guessing that some of the processes that connect Outlook to Exchange use the FQDN of the server or IP address, and that other things such as the Global Address Book and Out of Office use the External Host Name.
Any help to point these request at the Internal FQDN/IP would be great, or if someone can think of another way of dealing with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Titan,
correct me if i have missed something but are users able to look up contacts in GAL?
If you update (ex mobile number for a user) then run the following commands(one for each line):
       Get-GlobalAddressList | update-GlobalAddressList
       Get-AddressList | update-AddressList
    Get-OfflineAddressBook | Update-OfflineAddressBook
Restart Your Outlook  in 5 min, then do a manual OAB download. Is info on that user updated?
    Does GAL from frm OWA?
if im not wrong,Status and Out of Office use EWS for status update.
    Please run the following command:
Get-WebServicesVirtualDirectory -Identity “mailserver01\EWS (Default Web Site)” |fl *internalUrl*
where mailserver01 is the server that is having the issue.
Then please check if internal URL is correct for that server (and those that are having issues.
Please mark as helpful if you find my contribution useful or as an answer if it does answer your question. That will encourage me - and others - to take time out to help you. Thank you! Off2work

  • Outlook 2007 & Exchange 2007 - Out of office assistant not working

    Hi,
when using outlook 2007 and the users mailbox is on an Exchange 2007 server the out of office assistant doesn't work. When you start the out of office assistant the following message is displayed:
'Your Out of Office settings cannot be displayed, because the server is currently unavailable. Try again later.'
Using Outlook 2003 and connect to the same mailbox, the assistant works fine, however you don't have the additional features new to the Assistant.
Also, when using outlook 2007 and connect to an Exchange 2003 mailbox the out of office assistant is also functioning fine.
Using Outlook Web Access on Exchange 2007 to set the out of office assistant works also fine, so the error message is not correct.
Any idea how to fix this ?
    Franc.

Whilst I agree that auto-discover and other comment's could be upheld, I know that even when EWS and auto-discover are setup correctly that this problem will still occur.
I manage an Exchange 2007 environment with 300 users and and Exchange 2010 environment with 700 user's all using Outlook 2007.  We are in the progress of deploying Outlook 2010 but I know with the new authentication process of the Outlook
client with Exchange 2007 or older and Outlook 2007 or older, this problem will still occur.
I know that their are just a few out of a 1,000 user base that experience this problem, so I don't see how global settings and configurations and settings are the culprit.
Just like the problem caused by a badly designed update in November or December of last year that meant auto-discover does not auto-configure a new Outlook profile because it would not detect the user's e-mail address but somehow create some random e-mail
address with the AD account name before the @ and the FQDN for the domain name, which involved a further release of another update several month's later to fix that.
Plus the other problem with the daily and frequent prompt's throughout the day for OWA domain login credential's despite being authenticated and Outlook contacting Exchange fine signified by the bottom-right hand corner status stating so.  I press escape
and Outlook carries performing as normal for it do the same a few hours later, however I find that after about half a dozen prompt's over several days, it will disconnect the Outlook client saying 'Need Password' in the bottom-right, which despite left and
right-mouse clicking does not load a login prompt to re-enter credentials that I should not need to be doing in the first place considering that I am logged in with the correct domain account on my computer and using the destined mailbox for that AD account.
Exiting Outlook gracefully and re-launching Outlook a few seconds later allowing time for the background application handles and sub-handles amongst probably other things from the previous Outlook session to close (although, I do find every so often this
process is hampered every so often by having to end the Outlook.exe process directly through Task Manager before being able to re-attempt launching the Outlook client) and Outlook will just reconnect without the need or receiving a prompt to enter the login
details but I will no doubt receive another login prompt that I can likely just press cancel to or the escape button or perhaps, have to follow the above process again.
Just like releasing SP1 for Exchange 2010 to add more problems that worked without it but fixing those problems that existing in 2010.
I find that deleting a database result's in a failure error that in fact does successfully remove the database but since SP1, I know have to run a shell command to remove the database in the registry to delete an entry from a 'state' and 'lockstate' folder
before I am rid of the Exchange configuration, to then have to suspend all database copies on that server and re-start all of the Exchange services before I can actually delete the edb file.  Just absurd.
It's all just a backwards and forwards exercise with Microsoft but would love permanent solutions to all of the above.  Please advise on the above because it is a major irritation.

  • Out of Office replies not working for external emails - Exchange 2010, Outlook 2010

    Hello.
We have two Exchange 2010 mailbox servers and a third for client access. There are two mailbox databases replicated to both servers as a DAG. There is also one 2003 legacy server that is awaiting decommissioning that is basically just heating the server
room - all the mailboxes have been migrated.
We have recently noticed that out of office replies are no longer working for external recipients, but are being sent for internal users.
I have checked under "Organisation configuration" - "hub transport" - "Remote domains" and made sure that is set to "Allow external out-of-office messages and legacy out-of-office messages"
Looking at the message tracking logs it appears that the out of office reply isn't generated for external users - we do have an external mail filter that inbound and outbound messages are relayed through but that isn't blocking anything.
This was working until recently, and I can't see any errors in the logs that look related. All three servers have been rebooted just in case.
Any suggestions where to look next?

    Hello,
You can capture a trace log to diagnostic
    the OOF issue:
    a. Start ExTRA by clicking Run on the Start menu and then entering the following command-line:
    Extra.exe
    b. On the “Welcome to the Exchange Troubleshooting Assistant” page click Select a task.
    c. On the “Troubleshooting Task Selection Screen” page click Trace Control.
    d. Click OK to the following prompt alerting you about possible performance problems running a trace:
This server does not have the module needed for interpreting traces.
Proceed only if this is being done under the direct supervision of a qualified Exchange support engineer.
    e. On the “Configure Trace File” page configure the following options:
    f. After configuring the options in step e, click Set manual trace tags.
    g. On the “Set Trace Tags Manually” page configure the following settings:
Check the following trace tags: InfoWorker.Assistants.OOF, all.
Note: Please expand all filter options, make sure that we did not check any filter options here. And run the trace again.
    h. Click Start Tracing at the bottom of the page.
    i.  Please reproduce this issue for 3-5 times. After reproduced this issue, stop the tracing and collect the ExchangeDebugTraces.etl
    Thanks,
    Simon

  • Exchange 2010 Out of Office Assistant not working?

New server with a new Exchange 2010 install into an existing domain...
When users on both the internal network and external network try to access the Out of Office Assistant they get an error message of: " Your Out of Office settings cannot be displayed, because the server is currently unavailable".
I have done tons of research on WebServicesVirtualDirectory and AutodiscoverVirtualDirectory and set both internal and external URL's that work if you go to them in IE )internally and externally offsite).
Here are the settings of Autodiscover and Webservices:

Test-OutlookWebServices comes up with errors. The Test E-mail AutoConfiguration within Outlook still appears to be looking for Autodiscover at different URLs...
OOF within Outlook Web App functions.
    Any suggestions would be helpful!

From your previous post, I understand that OOF doesn't work for both internal and external clients. Error message "Your Out of Office settings cannot be displayed, because the server is currently unavailable" was received from Outlook client side. Please correct me if I have any misunderstanding.
Before we go any further, I would appreciate your help in clarifying the following questions:
    1. When did this issue begin to occur, since the installation of Exchange 2010?
    2. Can we access and configure OOF from OWA?
As internal & external clients are using different methods/URL to access Autodiscover and EWS, which provided OOF service, I recommend we focus on the internal users first.
To troubleshoot this issue, please install the hotfix mentioned in the following KB on the Exchange Client Access Server first:
Outlook 2007 crashes or you cannot access OOF settings after you install a package that contains the .NET Framework 3.5 with SP1 and the .NET Framework 2.0 with SP2 on an Exchange 2007 Client Access server or on an Exchange 2010 Client Access server
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/958934
After that, check if the issue remains. If there is still problem, please help me collect:
    1. Test E-mail AutoConfiguration from Outlook client
    1. Launch Outlook 2007 using a correct configured profile.
    2. Hold down the CTRL key on your keyboard and click the Outlook icon in the notification area of the Windows taskbar, also known as the notification area.
    3. In the menu that appears, click Test E-mail AutoConfiguration.
    4. Enter your E-mail Address and Password (if not logged into the domain) in the respective edit boxes.
    5. Choose the desired auto configuration methods with Use Autodiscover, clear other selection.
    6. Click Test.
    7. Please send me the screenshot of the result tab and log tab.
    2. Result files after running the following command on the Exchange 2007 server
    Get-ExchangeCertificate | FL >C:\cert.txt
    Get-WebServicesVirtualDirectory –Server ServerName | FL >C:\EWS.txt
    Get-AutodiscoverVirtualDirectory –Server ServerName | FL >C:\Audis.txt
    Get-ClientAccessServer  | FL >C:\cas.txt

  • Out of Office Messages are Not Sent Out

    Hi there,
I have an issue with Outlook's Out of Office feature. The Out of Office messages are not sent out (to both internal and external contacts) although it has been already turned on. Only one user is having this particular issue.
I've attempted these steps but the issue still persists.
    a) Turning on OOO via OWA
    b) Deleting the current profile and creating a new profile
Could anybody help me in this?
    Regards,
    Vinod

    Hi Vinod,
You issue might be related to this:
"By default, the out-of-office reply to Internet recipients (external senders) is turned off. Many administrators do not allow out-of-office replies to be sent outside the Exchange Server organization, so that unauthorized people do not
know when users are out of the office. "
You might want to follow the steps in below KB article to turn on out-of-office replies to the Internet or contact your administrator to check so:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/323665/en-us
Hope it helps and feel free to post back.

  • Outlook 2007 Out of Office does not work

    Hello,
Our local network uses Exchange Server 2008 and has clients connected with Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010. Recently one of the users reported that Outlook 2007 cannot access the Out Of Office function. When he tries Outlook reports that the server is unavailable.
I confirmed this on 2 machines which use Outlook 2007. I also tested on 2 machines using Outlook 2010 and they do not have the problem. Per a ms support kb article, I tried using a new Outlook profile for one of the Outlook 2007 machines and it made no difference.
I am able to use the Out of Office feature when using Outlook Web Access for the machines which use Outlook 2007. Due to this I’m pretty sure the issue is Outlook 2007. The machines are current for Windows and Office updates. Any suggestions on how to resolve
    this?
    Thank you,

I believe you mean Exchange 2007.
OWA is a completely separate mechanism to access the Out Of Office service. Not relevant.
Check your AutoDiscover for your OOF address, with that address attempt to connect to that address via client machine, you should get an XML return. If no return or error message, move forward from there.

  • Project Server 2013 - Out of Office Sync - Only two months in future?!?

    Hello there guys,
after Long Long search for the problem, I've found out that our Project Server 2013 only syncs the out of Office time from our Exchange Calendar for the next two months.
But for our Project planning we Need of course a more longtime synchronization, at least 6 or better 12 months.
I didnt find any Option where I could set it to sync more then 2 months of the out of Office times in the calendars.
I've spent already so much time on this Problem... When I set the Project Server time 2 weeks(!) in the future, then the sync will also sync two more weeks in the future, but not more.
The timesheet periods are also set for the next 12 month.
Does anybody have an Information/help regarding this Problem for me?
How can I set the Out of Office sync to synchronize more then just 2 months?
    THANK YOU VERY MUCh!!
    Regards
    Lukas Meyer
PS: Using the current October 2013 CU.

I've searched the Verbose Log and found the following:
    12/17/2013 14:38:16.32 Microsoft.Office.Project.Server (0x0928) 0x1A6C Project Server Exchange Sync aaubf Verbose PWA:https://servername/PWA, ServiceApp:Project Server-Dienstanwendung, User:PROJECTSERVER\system,
    PSI: Calling service.GetUserAvailability() for user:2c3909bc-d6fb-e211-b239-000c296be823 for period:12/17/2013 00:00:00-02/17/2014 00:00:00, LogLevelManager Warning-ulsID:0x00014045 has no entities explicitly specified. 3a2f619c-f4a0-f018-b62b-b2d1299a489f
So the Project Server is only asking for two months of User Availability on the Exchange. Where can I Change this Setting so that the Project Server syncs more then 2 months?
Otherwise this functionality is quite useless in my view as we are planning our Projects longer then only 2 months...
    Thank you!
