E mail help please. Icon forever seems to be bouncing..

My iLife 8 has been working well for the last few weeks. I have not made any other changes. Lately the web mail (2.1.3 version) icon bounces up and down when open and a box pops up saying:
Enter password for account "POP account". The POP server"..." rejected the password for user "...." please re-enter your password, or cancel. Remember this password in my keychain.
I enter my password and ask it to remember it. It works fine for a short while before getting me to enter the password again. Has anyone else experienced this. I have tried to look into mail prefs. to see if there is any adjustments to be made, but there seems to be none . Thank you.

I think you've entered the wrong forum.
Althought iWeb has the letters web in its name, it isn't a webmail application.
Better ask again in the appropriate forum(s)

Besides, Mail.app isn't a web application either, and it isn't part of [iLife|http://www.apple.com/ilife>.

New mail button does not respond so can't write mail. help please?

I am no expert, but open your mail, go to the top of your apple bar click the apple sign then force quit mail, restart and it may work.
I had this issue before and it was resolved.

  • HELP PLEASE.  It seems like my entire movie cannot be recovered.

This is so difficult.  I was near the final end of editing and was composing the credits.  I put them all within one big Title Frame and that seems to have been a fatal mistake.
That crashed my system and I rebooted but cannot even open the Adobe Premiere Pro application.
I did have another copy of Premiere Pro installed on a different drive and that application does open.
That version seems able to open some very old projects.
But I am unable to open any of the following projects when I click on one of their icons:
Does anyone have a recommendation on how to go forward?  It does seem that I am in serious risk of losing almost everything.
If I could open any of the versions below I would be very grateful.
I look forward to any help I might receive.  This is quite perplexing.

I know and understand I am lost.
I just tried a repair reinstall, but did not know how to do so.  It was not clear.
Therefore I did a complete reinstall.
    That did not work.
I have apparently lost Hard Drive Number 2 completely.  I do not know why.
At any rate, I have one version of Premiere Pro functional with "only" 20 hours of work lost.
Because a substantial part of that 20 hours was spent learning how to be a pretty decent keyframer, I think it will only take 8 hours to reconstruct everything.
Given all my deadlines, this will be my undertaking.
    Thanks for your sincere help.
    I do appreciate it.

  • Need Mail help please

Using Mail. MacBook Pro. Hotmail is my POP.
Attached PDF file of 37mb. I try to send the email, and I get: "Cannot send message using the server Hotmail. Message exceeds 49.1 mb limit." It's only 37 mb! The email has no text whatsoever. Just the attachment. I need to send this! Help! Thanks.

Tried it. Hotmail says you can't attach anything more than 25mb. That may be the problem right there. Mac Mail thinks Hotmail can handle more than it actually can?
Anyway, then Hotmail said I can send it with what seems to basically be their version of Google Drive. Bleh.
    Thanks for your help!

  • New SSL email settings for Apple Mail help please

I too received the Verizon email settings notification but when I turn on ssl and change the server ports for incoming and outgoing mail to the correct ports...I get a connection error... the mail server "incoming.verizon.net" is not responding. When I change back to the original settings, it connects just fine. Anybody else having issues with Apple Mail on a mobile device I.e. iPad, iPhone?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I had the same problem setting up the new ports and SSL on an ipad. Restarting the ipad did not help. Turns out that the settings app needs to be turned off before incoming will work. For those that aren't familiar, double click the home button. All active apps will appear in a row across the bottom of the display. Press and hold any active app icon until they all start dancing and have a small red circle in the upper left corner with a minus sign in it. Release and then tap the app(s) you want to close.

  • Haven't got the button "write message" in mail, help please!!

Please help, I cannot write any message on my iphone, there is no button " write new message", only "inbox"  etc...may be someone know about this problem. Thank you

The new messages icon is located in teh bottom right of the screen, and should be visible in pretty much any screen except when replying to an email or if you already have a new email open. http://help.apple.com/iphone/7/#/iph3caef30a
If you don't don't see it, Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

  • Scheduling automatic message delivery in Mail - help please.

    Hi there.
I just have a quick question - how do you set up Mail to automatically send someone a message at a specific time?
For instance - email "[email protected]" at 8AM.
Is it something that you need to create an AppleScript for - or is this something that Mail has built into it?
    Thanks for any help.

To attach an image modify the script as follows:
    tell application "Mail"
set theMessage to make new outgoing message with properties {sender:"[email protected]", visible:false, subject:"whatever you want to put here", content:" and whatever you want to put here
    tell theMessage
    make new to recipient at end of to recipients with properties {address:"[email protected]"}
    end tell
    tell content of theMessage
make new attachment with properties {file name:"Main HD:pic.jpg" as alias} at after last paragraph
    end tell
    delay 3
    send theMessage
    end tell
This will attach the file Main HD/pic.jpg
    Modify that as needed.

  • Apple Mail Help Please

Hello all. I also am having a mail issue. It was working fine last night and when I woke up this morning, it stopped working. I am running mail 2.0.5 on 10.4.5. I am running Tiger through the original disks and have roughly 28GB of storage left from my 160gb hdd. When I try to open up mail, I get a constant pinwheel and it does not time out. I have tried to remove the plist and launch it and I have also tried shift clicking on mail like previous discussions suggested. I hope this explanation is detailed enough. I am new to the Mac world and don't entirely know how to explain myself any better. Any help would be much appreciative. Thanks.

Let me paste in the instructions I give for removing the com.apple.mail.plist, and check to see if this is what you did? Also, do you have any email info set up in Internet Explorer preferences (even if not using IE)?
There are some other things to try, but I want to know that you followed the right procedure on the plist.
Also, did you mailboxes originate in Panther or earlier, and then converted when upgrading to Tiger?
    Paste:
Quit Mail, and in the Finder open Home/Library and locate the Mail folder. Control-click over the Mail folder, and choose Duplicate -- then drag the resulting copy to the Desktop for temporary backup. Next, open Home/Library/Preferences and find the com.apple.mail.plist file and drag it to the desktop.
Relaunch Mail, which will open as though new, and when prompted to import anything DECLINE. Instead, re-enter your account info, and Mail will re-discover the account for this account, and all should be well.
Ask any needed questions, and keep us posted.
    Ernie

Have you tried resetting your device by pressing and holding the Home button and power button until the silver apple appears?

  • Can send but not recevie mail - help please

I have tried to push mail though, switched phone off and logged off on my desktop. But I can send but not receive.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Anne,
Is this IMAP or POP account?
Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move these folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
    Reboot.

I seem to be having the same problem on my Windows 8 laptop... I am able to update my iPod Nano through iTunes but my iPhone is not recognized as a device in iTunes. Have been able to update my iPad until recently. Is this a bug fix that Apple can help with? I'd rather not uninstall all my Apple programs if I can avoid it...

  • I cleaned up my mac and now all my applications are gone. I try to open them and it has a question mark on the app icon. Everything from System prefrences, Everything in itunes, iphoto, preview and mail? Please help

I cleaned up my mac and now all my applications are gone. I try to open them and it has a question mark on the app icon. Everything from System prefrences, Everything in itunes, iphoto, preview and mail? Please help

These question marks are on your dock? And you can't open applications from your dock?
If so, try this: Open a new finder window and navigate to the Applications folder in your hard disk. The applications in question should still be in there (the Applications folder). So drag each of the application icons that you want to be available on your dock from the Applications folder onto your dock, one by one. Take each of your question mark icons that are on the dock and drag them off the dock to get rid of them. See if that fixes you up.
Now, if your hard disk no longer has an Applications folder in it, or the Applications folder is empty, you are going to have to reinstall OS 10.6 then do a software update to bring you back up to OS 10.6.8. You may be able to just go to the "optional installs" folder on the installer DVD and maybe all the stock applications are there -- I don't remember and I don't have an installer DVD handy to look. That would be way easier than doing a full blown OS reinstall. Also, as I recall, if OS 10.6 was on the computer when you bought it from the store, I think there should be an "extras" DVD that has a handful of applications that could be reinstalled from it, too.
