E-mail Icon Gone

I had my email icon next to my text icon and now it's gone.
I have to access at the top of the screen, and when I have no more emails,
it dissapears.
I want my email icon back.
Was it an update maybe?
wahhhh
Thanks

Hi and Welcome to the Community!!
I can't tell, from what you've described, why the icon vanished...an update could do that, but the detail is too sparse to make any kind of SWAG. So, I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
2) Delete and Resend Service Books
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your BIS configuration for the affected email accounts.

  • Mail icon gone

I have upgraded to the latest Lion and my mail icon has gone from the dock. Why and what is the best way to access mail?

Open the applications folder in Finder and drag the mail app back to the dock.
or you can click the magnifying glass on the menubar, type mail, click on the first hit to start mail.  Then when the icon appears on the dock, right click it and select  Options > Keep on Dock.

  • Where has the 'checking for mail' icon gone?

Whenever I used to check my mail manually (Comand-Shift-N) an icon to the left of the Inbox would come up to show that mail was checking. If I remember correctly, it was a couple of triangles in a circle that would spin while the process was being executed. It's disappeared now - nothing come up and there's no way of knowing whether Mail is checking for mail or has finished doing so now. Any ideas where this visual indication of when Mail is busy checking for mail might have gone and how I can get it back?
By the way, what do you call that icon - the one that comes up when a process is being exectued to show you so?

Yes, that's right - no, it doesn't appear in the mailbox list. Where it used to be, e.g. if you're in Inbox and it's darkened to show it's the folder being viewed, it used to be the right of of 'Inbox' - where, when Mail is NOT checking for mail, there is a circle with a number in the middle of it to show how many unread messages are in the folder... It's that circle (the one showing the number of unread messages when Mail is idle) that used to turn into two spinning triangles when Mail was checking for mail. It's gone, but the circle displaying the number of unread messages is still there.
It certainly is checking for mail, and receiving everything and doing everything else perfectly. In fact, that's the problem - it's such a reliable and well-behaved program that it seems such a waste of time to worry about silly, niggling little things. But still... Would be nice to have it back. I liked it and miss it.
Nope, no enhancements; just as it was installed when I took delivery of the computer. Is it possible Firefox has somehow corrupted it?
All current Apple and Mozilla (Firefox 3.0.11) updates are installed.

  • Did the update in iPhone and my mail icon is gone? How do I get it back?

did the update in iPhone and my mail icon is gone? How do I get it back?

Look on other screens and any folders (like utilities) on your iPhone.

  • Mail icon is not the mail icon.... it's gone

I came home today to see my "mail" icon is now a piece of paper, with a ruler, pen and pencil on it. It's looks like another icon but that one is called "configuration". I can't get to mail, it's not in my applications - it's no where. help.
That's my first problem - my second problem is I spent a TON - A TON of money on this computer and I can't get a person to help me out with this???? Really Apple??? with all the money you make???? 50 bucks for a problem that I'm sure you could fix in 10 seconds!?!?! I'm extremely unhappy right now!

First, did you check EF settings to Scan all files, Ignore Case, Files and Folders, Invisible Files and Folders? If you really can't find it, if it's really AWOL, (and I really don't know if, or understand why, the update -- you did run the Security Update, right? -- would have completely nuked it), one possibility would be to apply the 10.6.8 Combo Update, although I have a feeling that won't replace a totally missing application. But could give it a try.

The other thing to do is to reinstall Mail from Optional Installs (I think it's there) from the 10.6 install DVD.
I really don't think it's gone. It has to be somewhere. I don't see the update removing it completely.
If you find it, move it to the proper location, then run the Combo Update and, next, the Security Update again.

  • TS3899 The Mail icon on my iPhone 4s says I have 1,504 unread emails.  I've gone in and cleaned out all my email (sent it to Trash, then emptied the Trash), and when I go to my email, it says no mail.  How do I get rid of this 1,504 emails that aren't the

The mail icon on my iPhone says I have 1,504 unread messages, but when I go to delete them, it says "No Mail".  I was trying to "clean out" my phone because I can't access my Words With Friends app - everytime I try to go there, it kicks me off.  I still get messages from Words saying my friends are waiting for me.  Any ideas on either of these issues?

  • E-mail icon is gone from my screen?

The e-mail icon dissappeared from my phone screen...what do I have to do to get it back?

The first course of action is to make sure it isn't hidden.  While on your homescreen, press the BB menu key and select Show All or Unhide All, depending on what OS you're using.  If the options of Unhide All or Show All are available, click either of those and your email icon should reappear.
If that doesn't do it, you'll have to reload the OS.  Please note that reloading the OS should show your email icon again.  To do so, plug your phone in to your PC and open BlackBerry Desktop Software.  Once your phone has connected, click Device at the top of the software then Restore.  Choose the most recent restore point and load it.  This should restore your email icon to your homescreen.
    I hope that helps you.

  • HT1338 I double click on my mail icon but nothing happens. What shall I do?

I have gone to look at my email this morning, but when I click on the Mail icon nothing happens. There is a Mail toolbar at the top of the screen but my screen remains blank. Any ideas? I am not techy so have no idea!

Is it possible you made your Mail "Message Viewer" window full-screen? Mine is that way (intentionally), and the effect is similar to what you describe. (I have the "Activity" window open, so I see that window in my #1 desktop, and I have other applications open, so I see their window behind it.)

  • Mail is gone, how do I get it back?

Got a software update then mail icon was gone.  Searched everywhere and cannot find it.  How can I get mail back?

Mac OS X v10.6: Mail.app won’t open, or "You can't use this version of Mail…" alert after installing Security Update 2012-004:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4424?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Fellow user Grant Bennet-Alder offers this solution:
Some users have reported this problem if the Mail Application has been moved out of the top-level /Applications folder, or duplicated in another location.
When the Security Update is done, the old version of Mail is disabled.
    The solution has been to:
    1) make certain Mail is in the /Applications folder
    2) There is no other copy anywhere else.
    3) Once steps 1 and 2 have been done, Manually download and re-apply the Security Update (2012-004) by hand.
    Security Update 2012-004 (Snow Leopard)
If the Mail.app has been LOST, it can be re-installed by applying the 10.6.8 version 1.1 combo update. But this update is quite large and it is usually not necessary:

  • The "Mail" icon App on my iphone just disappeared.  I've reset the phone, tried troubleshooting other ways.  Any clues on what to do. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

The "Mail" icon App on my iphone 3G just disappeared!  I've reset the phone, checked settings.  I can still access the internet through Safari, but the entire "Mail" icon is gone!  Vanished into thin air in a matter of seconds!  Has anyone ever had this happen?  Any suggestions as to what to do?

You can't delete it.  Look on all your screens and inside all your folders.  If you still can't find it go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.  This will restore the home screen to its original configuration but may move other apps around to do so.

  • Yahoo Mail Icon has been changed!

    I have a Curve 8330 with OS 4.5.
The  Verizon rep added my Yahoo email account when I purchased it and since then, my homescreen had a Yahoo Icon showing that I got new email. I recently deleted and resent service books as well as did a battery pull (for another issue) and now my Yahoo Icon is gone and instead I have the generic mail icon, with the envelope & globe.
I've read many forums and this seems to happen to a lot of people, but I cannot find a fix.
I've tried numerous battery pulls, deleting and re-adding the account and more.
Can anyone tell me how to get that Yahoo Icon back?  It was so convenient!!
    Thanks,

This is a known issue and I've heard it will be fixed in a coming upgrade. There's nothing you can do for now.

Use Pacifist to extract it from your Mac OS X 10.6 DVD and then run the Mac OS X 10.6.8 combo updater.

  • Mail account gone!

I attempted to check my mail this morning and my account is GONE! When I click on the mail icon, it pops up the screen, "Welcome to Mail." It wants me to set up a new account. Where is my old one? I have it synchronizing with my gmail account. I went to gmail and my messages are not there because they delete after they reach my mail account. I don't know what to do...please help.

Are you sure you haven't renamed your home folder or perhaps signed into a different account?
