E-mail integration

Is there any way to take my outlook mail into a portlet? I mean, is any company developing a portlet to do this?
are there any product from oracle for this?
Any other ideas?
Thanks

Hi Bernardo,
I recently worked on a project where we set up single sign-on to the Outlook Web interface, and then put that in a portlet.
If you can move from Outlook Client/Server to Web then you can follow the standard process to set up an external application via SSO.

  • E-Mail integration in DOE

    Hi all,
I have a scenario to send an e-mail using DOE. The requirement is something like this. When the sales executive  raises an order, it will go to SAP and order gets created. But when the order total is more than the certain limit, then the order should go to his manager for approval. In this scenario DOE should trigger an email to the manager, so and so order needs an approval. Then manager will approve (may be from SAP/ from application). Is e-mail integration from DOE possible, if yes how do i integrate?
    Regards,
    Kiran.

    Hi Kiran,
DOE Standard channel will not allow sending mails and for this you will need to plug in an additional channel which will receive the message and then you can plu in a custom code to send the object as an e-mail.
The advantage of taking this approach is that the contents of the data object will be distributed to the device from standard channel as well as via your custom mail channel where the mail channel can ensure a faster delivery of the same content.
But if you just want to send a mail and not use the distribution capability then writing a direct procedure will be easier.

  • E-mail integration for my BB

hi. i have a problem about e-mail integration. my device doesn't accept my e-mail address. how can i fix it. thanks alot.

    Hello,
Useful guidance depends on full understanding, and full understanding comes solely from complete information from you. The mere symptom of "doesn't accept my e-mail address" is rather impossible to understand, and therefore we cannot provide useful guidance.
Can you provide more? Perhaps the exact steps you attempt, the exact results of each step, and the exact and complete content of any error messages presented. Then we might understand, and be able to provide useful guidance for you.

  • Domino Lotus Mail Integration With Webcenter Spaces

    Hello,
I am looking for solution for Domino Lotus Mail Integration with Webcenter Spaces, can you please let me know any one having any technical idea how to integrate with webcenter spaces.
    Please provide the solution.
    Thanks,
    Chandra

For registering a mail server to WebCenter Spaces, see this link: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/webcenter.1111/e12405/wcadm_mail.htm#WCADM238
If you want to do more advanced stuff like synchronizing calendar events in Spaces with events registered at Domino Server, I'm not sure whether it is possible out-of-the-box. There is an API for synchronization with MS Exchange (based on web services), so provided that Domino Server has a similar interface you could try the same approach.
If you want to run WebCenter apps/portlets in Lotus front-end environment, I'm almost sure it is impossible.

  • Mail integration doesn't work - users can't sign up

I've followed the instructions for the mail and calendar integration from the /opt/SUNWam/samples/integration folder.
When users sign themselves up however, they still don't get access to mai. From the Sun ONE Console, an admin can click the 'mail account' button for the newly 'self created' user. After this the user can login to webmail, but gets a pop up error saying 'Quota Root'. Clicking past this gives access to webmail.
They are also not able to send emails - the error 'SMTP Error 5.1.1 unkonw or illegal alias' appears.
Users created via the Identity server console after performing the integration are wokring ok with mail - mail worked only after adding DOMAIN_UPLEVEL=3 to the option.dat file, following advice I'd seen elsewhere.
How can I find out what is going wrong/fix these apparently basic problems? I 've followed all the docs to the letter...

  • ICal and Mail integration in other languages

    Hi,
I'm really impressed with the way mail integrates with iCal. My only problem is that I get a lot of meeting arrangements in Estonian, so mail doesn't recognise words like tomorrow, days of the week or months of the year. Is there a list in OS X where alternatives can be added? For instance, can I make Mail recognise both the English work 'tomorrow' and the Estonian word 'homme' as the same thing?
    Thanks,
    Ant

There's a nifty App out there called MailTags (http://www.indev.ca/MailTags.html).  I've been using it for a year or so on Lion and it connects your mail to iCal pretty well.
From what I'm reading on the MailTags support forum, however, the Mountain Lion version of MailTags, though available, is causing some pretty bad crashing problems at the moment.  I'm personally not installing it until I see those issues resolved.  I would keep an eye on it and wait for MailTags to fix the bugs, then take it out for a spin - they have a free trial.
In Lion with MailTags 3, you would open an email in Mail, click the tag and either assign an iCal Event to the email or an iCal Task.  You made the assignment right inside Mail using the "Tag" and the Event or Task would automatically appear in iCal - and Event/Task would include a link back to the Mail message it came from (which was super convenient).
Tasks in iCal seem to be gone since I installed Mountain Lion tonight. I'm not really happy about that - cannot figure out how to get them back. The "Reminders" icon was added to my toolbar - I'm guessing that Apple killed Tasks in iCal and replaced with Reminders??  Though I'm not convinced I didn't lose some data in this process.
It will be interesting to see how MailTags for Mountain Lion works with these changes from Apple - once MailTags for Mountain Lion gets stabilized anyway.  I was a PC person for 20 years.  The only thing Microsoft does better than Apple is Outlook's full integration of calendars, tasks and mail.  Wish Apple would wake up and see the value to integrating these tools into a single app - bouncing between THREE apps now for this is not productive.  But MailTags is the closest thing I've found to bringing that integration together since I went Mac.  Hopefully they'll have the new release of Mailtags for Mountain Lion stabilized soon, cause I'm already missing it.

  • Portlets for e-mail integration?

During OOW2000, Oracle-staff giving presentations mentioned the development of portlets for integration with e-mail systems (like Lotus Notes and Microsoft Exchange).
Technical staff at the campgrounds said that this functionality was close to release (November/December 2000 was mentioned as a probable time of release).
    1) Is this type of functionality still under development?
    2) When will this type of functionality be available?
    3) Which e-mail systems will be integrated?

  • Forte e-mail integration

Has anyone successfully integrated an external e-mail system with a
    Forte application?
If you have, was your solution generic or geared to a specific mail
    system?
If specific, which mail system(s) and operating system(s)?
Was the integration between a Forte client and an e-mail client, between
a mail server and Forte server, or other?
How were the mail API's accessed? C wrappering? ActiveX/OLE? Sockets?
    Operating system command?
Systems integrators, if you have experience in this area and are
interested in providing such a solution, please let me know.

"clients" of these interfaces didn't know what system they were using.

a mail server and Forte server, or other?
How were the mail API's accessed? C wrappering? ActiveX/OLE? Sockets?
Operating system command? We integrated (if you can call it that) with sendmail, and also with Lotus
    Notes.
For the sendmail "interface", we had a class that created a unix command
line to call sendmail and email the message. I think we even included the
message text on the command line. A service object based on this class was
then partitioned out to a Unix box. It was extremely primitive, but got
the job done. These messages were just being sent to other groups within
the company, and were probably processed automatically, so they didn't need
    to look nice.
Our Lotus Notes interface is much more sophisticated. We use Notes to fax
or email letters to customers. Letter "templates" are stored in a Notes
database, and can be "customized" (i.e., the customer's name and address
    are included in the letter).
We are using both OLE and the Notes C++ API. OLE is only used to "Preview"
the letter the user wants to send (we call out to Notes using OLE, and tell
it to open the "template" in the database). It works.
We use the C++ API to retrieve the list of letters which can be sent, and
also to send the letters via email or fax (fax is easy, you just send the
letter to a fax gateway). We do not call directly to the Notes C++ API
from inside Forte. Instead, we call out to a "wrapper", written in C++,
which then makes the appropriate API calls. We "extern C"'ed the functions
in tyhe wrapper so that they could be called from inside Forte.
    Gotchas:
Calling out to this wrapper works well on NT, so long as you don't try to
call out from the client partition. We had call out from a service object
in it's own partition. I never figured out why it wouldn't work from
inside the client partition, but didn't spend a lot of time on it, since we
were planning to run on the server anyway for salability reasons.
However, it didn't work at all on HP UX. It turns out that you can't call
out from Forte to any C++ code that uses exception handling on HP UX. The
Notes C++ API uses exception handling, so we were SOL.
We're probably going to end up running this part of the app on an NT
server, but might also rewrite the API stuff to use the C API instead
(although we're are entirely sure that this will work on UNIX either). In
general, Notes is a pain to use on UNIX. We've had all sorts of problems
installing it and getting it to work correctly there. NT is much nicer in
    this respect.
If you want to call out to the Notes API (or any other API, for that
matter) from inside Forte, do a proof of concept on all platforms you need
to use (our POC proved it could work on NT, but not HP UX). NT will be
easy, but expect some headaches on UNIX.

    Hi Experts
Can I know the basic difference in Push & Pull method e-mail functionality in EIC? If we go for Push method can we use SAP Connect or is it only for one of the method? If we use pull method what is the disadvantage in functionality? For having Inbound & outbound mail functionality from EIC which is advisable. Reffered to the help doc but not much onfo on my questions.
