E-mail printing

E-mails will not print out correctly. Sometimes it prints only top of e-mail, sometimes e-mails are printed right justified and only part of the first page of msg with only half the lines shown ; however on all out put printing I always get the msg framed by the Verizon screen including the left side function bar and Verizon screen bottom of page ad banner. I quit trying to find a solution. Gene from Virginia.

Which email service are your printing from? (hotmail or gmail, for example) And, which browser are you running?

How do I set up Daily Mail Printer Edition?

The steps are pretty simple:
Open Daily Mail Printer Edition. The application should open as soon as installation is complete. You can also open the program by clicking your desktop icon, or by clicking Start, then All Programs, then the name of the particular application.
To set up the application to print, follow these steps:
(1) Click the Edit button.
(2) Select each of the days when you want prints.
(3) Select the time of day when you want your prints (these are in hourly slots).
(4) Select your printer from the list (PDF and XPS writers are not supported). .
(5) Don’t forget to click OK when you’re through!
You can also click the wrench icon () to open the Settings dialog, where you can set the desired action for when a scheduled print is missed. If you want the item to print immediately when you log in, select Automatically. If you want to be asked before an item is printed, select When Prompted. If you just want to skip missed items, select Never.
Don’t forget that on the days and times you’ve selected, your printer must be turned on, have paper, and be connected to your computer, and your computer must be on and connected to the Internet. Happy printing!

E-mail printing not printing e-mail body

Hi,
When using e-mail printing, e-mail body will not print, some printers printed out only codes, some a blank page with "[{" at top of page.
Rendering service works and Word and PDF attachments printed out fine.
Any ideas?

When I shutdown and restart my computer several windows aways open up such as mail, Print shop and Word.
I did uncheck the "Do not restart applications" but it still happens all the time

This is a known defect in Lion and AFAIK nobody has yet come up with a fix for it - one that works 100% of the time.

For what it's worth, I can report exactly the same problem. I just recently converted from Outlook for Mac 2011 to Mail. I did the conversion while running Yosemite. I like pretty much everything about Mail EXCEPT that it take 2 pages to print a 1 page email!! The header appears on the top of p.1, followed by a blank space. The message begins at the top of p.2.
If you scale it down, you can get the message to begin to appear on the bottom of p.1, but clearly, Mail is inserting BIG SPACE between the header and the message. Changing the display fonts for Mail had no apparent effect (except that the font DID change, of course)....still a BIG SPACE between the header and the message.
Coming to Mail for the first time, I would have assumed that this was just a quirk of Mail, but am I understanding that some of you Mail users out there USED TO NOT have this problem?? I think it's pretty clear that it's Mail that's causing the problem, not the message, because I went over to my old Outlook and printed the same couple of messages with no such space between the header and the message. So Mail is inserting a space into the print formatted email message that is NOT there in Outlook's print formatted same message.
Be really nice to get rid of this problem, but my Apple Care free support has expired. Not sure I want to pay for something that's generic to Mail!! Anyone else made any progress on this?

Why did I get a "You Have Missed a Print" message with Daily Mail Printer Edition?

You will miss a scheduled print if your computer is turned off or not connected to the Internet, or if you are logged out. When you see the “You have missed a print” message, you can click Print to print now, or Skip.
You can set Daily Mail Printer Edition to automatically do the same thing every time you miss a print.
Open Daily Mail Printer Edition.

We are facing an issue when we try to print the email in SAP CRM 7.0. Getting an error saying -Mail print error; check SmartForm or printer definition.
Any pointers on this how this can b resolved will be of great help.

Hi Udaya,
Try to maintain a default printer for a particular user in t-code SU01 (on Defaults tab -> Output Device).
Then, when you print again it will generate a spool order for chosen printer (can check on t-code SP01).

Formatting mail printing

mail prints in landscape only. no way seen to change format to portrait. printer is Brother HL2170W

I am running SL 10.6.2, all software is up to date. I am trying to change the default font to Helvetica oblique and no matter what I do (preferences - fonts/colors - helvetica - oblique) it will not change the message font. I can change the mailbox font, the message box font, but NOT the message font. However, if I go into the font within the message I CAN change the font for that specific message but NOT the default font. Anyone have any ideas or is this a bug?

Mavericks Mail Print dialog hangs?

Several times when I try to print an email messsage, the Mail Print dialog appears, complete with preview which looks fine.
The cancel, print, pdf, printer and presets buttons are responsive, but neither Print nor Cancel do anything other than flash to ack the click, and the print form remains pinned as the topmost window whenever Mail is active.
I'm printing three page message to a Xerox Phaser6360DN, and have been able to print a lot of mail and other docs since upgrading to Mavericks a few days ago.
Any ideas of what's wrong / how to fix?
Any suggestions for killing the pinned Print dialog without doing a Mail Force Quit?

John - Thanks for the suggestions. Next time I'll try changing printers / using PDF menu actions rather than just testing their pull down reasponse.
I didn't see anything terriblely helpful in /Utlities/Console, but will look again and try your suggestions if/when it happens again.
I needed to get Mail working and recovered with a force quit...

Microscopic Mail Printing

Recently, mail messages print in unreadable small font size. Changing font size in Mail preferences doesn't seem to change print size. I am experiencing this problem on both my MacBook Pro and MacBook, but only in Mail. Other applications print normally. I have a dot Mac mail account and the dot mac web mail prints smaal as well, but is readable. I have two user accounts on each computer and they both print in unreadably small font. This just occurred in the last day or so and I can't account for any changes to settings, etc. I haven' installed Leopard yet.

I don't know if this will help your specific problem, but it helped me.
My mail will print out small if there is something in it -- like a long URL -- that is trying to print on one line.
What I do is hit reply, put a line break in the long URL, then print it.
Then the print is the regular size.

Dunning form F150- Telefon/fax/mail printing for 1 user and not for other

Hello expert,
This is regarding the printing of the dunning form using F150.
At first, using company code and account clerk (BUSAB), we retrieve the user id. The program uses FM BAPI_USER_GET_DETAIL to get the address details of this user id. The user name, telephone and fax adn email are printed in the dunning form (1st reminder, 2nd reminder and so on). The problem here is , the address details are printed on the form for one user and not for the other user who is processing. Any idea regarding this. Do I need to give any user setting parameter in SU01 or is there any authoriztaion issue which is blocking this. Awaiting reply,

I'm having the same problem with Exchange 2003, I can get it to work with Entourage and on my iPhone, but it keeps rejecting my password on Mail.app. If I keep entering the password it starts to update with server, but it won't save the password. IMAP is on for my account which is how it works on iPhone.
I'm starting to think it has something to do with Keychain Access or Mail.app and not so much Exchange Server. If anyone has found a solution please let me know,

Why doesn't mail print the .ics details shown on screen?

I have colleagues using outlook and I of course use mail.
When they send me meeting requests I get a .ics file I can use in iCal.
The details of the .ics file (e.g. agenda) displays OK in mail.
But when I want to print the mail to take to the meeting, it just shows the .ics icon, nothing else.
Browsing the discussions, this was a problem back in 2007 in Tiger, but fixed there and subsequently.
Why have we got this "feature" back now in Lion? (The old fix - print from Get Info in iCal - doesn't work in Lion. Must be the cheap leather finish)
Any cures?

The '''Print''' item on that page could be the difference, or the web browser might be following that code is you used the '''Print ''menu item or button''''' in Firefox. <br />

Basically, it's probably not a fault with Firefox, but rather Firefox following the commands on the page put there by the person who authored that page, or a standard CSS "style sheet" used by eBay.

All emails in Mail print with a light gray background.

Since upgrading to Mountain Lion all the emails I print from Mail shows with a light gray background.
How can I change that?
The printouts just look dirty.

I have an HP Laserjet which is about 8 years old. I tried printing out this page and it showed gray. Also went to webmail and the same thing happened. But it didn't happen in InDesign.
Do you have any idea what's causing this?

Yosemite hide contact photo in mail print

In the new mail app of Yosemite, you can hide your contact photos in the message list, but not in the actual message.
When I want to print out some emails from work, I don't want that the contact photo appears in the right corner. Even if there is no contact photo attached, it gives a grey circle with the persons initials. It just doesn't look professional on a printed email.
Is there a way around this?

Automator Workflow for Mail Printing?????

How can I print out all all mail (250 emails) in a single mailbox into a single file, which I can save as a PDF?
I looked even for an Automator workflow that would
Print; Preview: Save As
so that I would then have a serires of PDFs that I could then import all the individual PDF pages in to Acrobat to create a single document, but Automator does not have these options.
Any thougt would be very helpful. Thanks!!

I don't believe you can do it the first way.
However there are at least three ways to do it the second way.
1) Use System Events GUI scripting exclusively to drive the user interface i.e., selecting menu items and pushing buttons;
2) Use some of 1) along with Mail's AppleScripting capabilities. GUI scripting would still be needed for Preview as it does not have AppleScript capabilities;
3) Install the cups-pdf solution called "Virtual Printer" (http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/20219) that allows one to create pdf files from anything that can be printed using the print dialog. This would also have to be driven using one or both of GUI scripting and Applescript.
If you do a lot of PDF printing then I would recommend 3) and generally 1) is less robust than 2). Myself or others on this forum should be able to help with whichever solution you prefer.
