E-mail replies ===   time lag  !!

Dear Adobe team. e-mail replies more or less work now (apart from the still unfixed formatting issues).
But ... sometimes there are considerable delays between the e-mail reply and the time that it's posted to your website. Sometimes 10-30 minutes. Of course, nobody can prove that it's Adobe servers not being able to catch up with all the e-mails. It might just as well have been delayed on it's way through "e-mail cyberspace" ...
But I was writing mails to other people at the same time and they did reply back immediately ...
... still no proof of anything.
Just saying that you might want to check your server load, etc., because it happens that users don't find their e-mail reply here on the forums and then double post via the web interface (only to see their message posted a second time via e-mail then) ....

Sure 24 hours obviously isn't Adobe's goal here but still... Jive actually said wait up to 24 hours??? ....AHAHAHAHAHAHA!
I just received the following "undelivered mail" notification after ... guess what ... a lot more than 24 hours. It has actually been 5 days and 1 hour!

  • RPTARQEMAIL is sending e-mails 2 times

    We are starting RPTARQEMAIL and the other needed programs with a job every 15 minutes. The last month everything works fine. Since about 1 month every mail is sending 2 times.
    1. The job runs the first time and  RPTARQEMAIL is selecting the right requests to the right period. The RPTARQEMAIL reads the table PTREQ_BATCH perfect and is setting the PTREQ_BATCH perfect. The e-mails will be send.
    2. When the job runs a second time RPTARQEMAIL read the requests again. The form is starting with the right period, but the answer includes the requests of the last job. The e-mails for a old request will be send a second time.
    3. With the next job the requests from the first job are not more selected.
    Thanks for help.

    Hi SDN colleagues,
    I know that this post is quite old and marked as "Assumed answered", but since so far no solution was posted, and after dealing with a similar issue for a long time, I figured I'd post my solution for future reference:
    we experienced the same problem at a customer system: about 3/4 of the mails sent through RPTARQMAIL and RPTCORMAIL (mostly those to the requestor) were sent twice, on two successive program runs. Our POST and MAIL programs were initially scheduled to run every 15 minutes, as two sequential steps on the same job, but even a change to 1 hour did not solve the problem.
    After a while we noticed a certain pattern: requests with doubled mails were those which change to Status Posted (as visible in transaction PTCOR/PTARQ) occurred at the exact time that was marked as "Last run" of the email program on table PTREQ_BATCH. This meant that the items were valid for two successive intervals, thus the doubled mails.
    To solve the issue we separated the POST and MAIL steps in two different jobs that run with a time lag of a couple of minutes. Worked like a charm!

  • Verizon, 700P and email time lag

    can anyone tell me what the time lag is, if any, between the time an email is sent to a .mac mail account and the time it'll show up on a Verizon Moto 700P? Thanks for any info!
    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   need a haircut

    Assuming that the original message is addressed to a [email protected] and you have chosen to forward mail to an account at [email protected], the delivery time may vary widely, as .Mac mail forwards do not seem to what I would term 'instantaneous.' You should not count on any single or multi-link forwarding scheme to pick up mail, if those messages are time sensitive.
    You can configure your VersaMail client—or virtually any other Palm OS mail client, like SnapperMail, for example—to pick up mail from your Treo 700p. [Not a Motorola product, incidentally…]
    But you really need to design an overall mail scheme, considering IMAP and POP3, the relationship between your Treo smartphone, any desktop or portable computer you will be using, webmail technology, push-email technology like GoodLink, and Verizon Wireless Sync, in addition to the idea of forwarding mail from multiple accounts to a single account you frequently interact with. If you don't think this through adequately, you are likely to loose time-sensitive messages, experience unacceptable delays, be inundated with multiple messages on various clients, see unread messages disappear from others due to synchronization events, and so on.

  • HT1277 Mail won't come in unless I open and close mail each time! help!

    Mail won't come in unless restart "mail" each time.  IMAP cox trying to setup new email addresses....connection doctor shows mail checked and 'light' is green but mail will not display until restarting.  I know there is a simple solution, just can't see what it is! Can anyone help? I tend to make things more difficult than I need to!

    Okay, I solved the problem... FINALLY!!! Added "pop" to my email address when re-setting up account in Mail. This allowed me to set it up as a pop account and all works well!! Problem "Solved"!!

  • How restore aol sent mac mail from time machine?

    I am using mac mail and an imap connection to aol.  I also have a time capsule and use time machine for backing up. Yesterday I stopped receiving incoming mail in mac mail and tried deleting the aol account in mac mail and then setting it up fresh.  I was shocked to find that my 25,000 AOL sent emails did not restore! I was told by an apple genius bar rep several months ago that once mail was on my machine that the emails would NEVER be lost.  Apparently this is not true.  When I open mac mail and go into my time capsule using time machine, however, do not see the SENT mail icon under AOL--it goes away?  When I try to restore the aol mail from the day before the incident the only thing that comes up is the one Sent Mail mssg that I sent AFTER the deleting and restoring of my AOL account in mac mail. The only relevant post I have found is the one below which was posted in 2008.  Please let me know there is a way to get back my sent messages.  I can't get them directly from the aol server because the server does not save messages that are sent from any client but AOL. Thanks.

    Restoring Apple Mail and Your Emails from Time Machine
    filed under: How-To tags: mail, timemachine Tuesday, January 29, 2008, 11:31 am
    UPDATE (25 August 2010): Please note that this post is well over 2 years old and as Tim pointed out in the comments below, this method may not be the best solution for restoring emails. According to his restore efforts, changes where made to the timestamp from the date in which they were received to the date in which they were restored. I have not tested this myself.
    The hard drive on my PowerBook completely died the other day, but I luckily had been running Time Machine backups since upgrading to Leopard. (I wasn’t all that ****** off seeing as I was eager for an excuse to replace my wimpy 40Gb hard drive with a new 160Gb drive). I fumbled a bit, looking for a specific Apple Mail restore tool. I knew where all my emails lived, but I thought that Apple would have a specific means for restoring apps like Mail. So I created this mini-tutorial on how to restore Apple Mail from Time Machine simply because I could not find this method elsewhere.
    Supposedly, If you attach your Time Machine backup drive, open Apple Mail then launch the Time Machine application, you are presented with historical views of Apple Mail. This did not work for me, the historical views were just blank, so the steps below do not take this approach.
    Restoring Your Emails from a Time Machine Backup
    Warning: If you have already setup Apple Mail with your accounts and preferences, this will negate ALL your doings.
    Note: This process will restore all your email accounts, preferences, passwords, smart mailboxes, etc.
    The How-To
    Before loading Time Machine, open the Finder and navigate to Home Folder (username) -> Library. In there will be a folder name “Mail”. Rename it to “Mail (default)” (Select the folder then hit the Return key to rename).
    Mount your Time Machine Backup Drive (ahem, plug it in).
    Control + Click the Time Machine Application and chose “Browse Other Time Machine disks…”. This, of course, brings up the historical view of your backups.
    Go back to your most recent backup (2nd window back) and navigate to Home Folder (username) -> Library. Select the “Mail” folder and click the restore button (bottom right).
    Once the restore is completed, open Apple Mail and you will be presented with an import wizard (below). Simply follow through the prompts and you will be good to go.
    That’s it!UPDATE (20-January-2009): After step 4., also restore ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plistThanks Jon C.
    If you have multiple mail accounts, you should also restore the ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist file as well. This will ensure all of your account settings are imported. – Jon C.

    Don't try to restore the file; restore the Note. Go in Mail to the mailbox where the note belongs. Enter Time Machine from there and step back until you find the Note.

  • Restore Archived Lion Mail from Time Machine

    I deleted a mailbox, thinking I could add it back, and synch with the server.  That worked fine, but I forgot that I had archived a whole bunch of mail on that account.   Now I want to retrieve the old mail.  I have a fresh Time Machine backup.  How do I retrieve my archived mail from Time Machine for a deleted account?

    If Time Machine was backing up before you deleted the account, you can try to enter Time Machine from
    ~/Library/Mail.  See if the deleted account is in there.

  • How to Search Mail in Time Machine

    Although Mail's search feature isn't active when in Time Machine mode, here's a way I just figured out to search Mail e-mail messages using Time Machine:
    1. In the Finder, initiate a new Spotlight search by choosing Find in the File menu.
    2. In the list of search properties, select Other..., then find System files in the resulting sheet.
    3. Check In Menu if you want it readily accessible in the future, otherwise just click on it and click OK.
    4. To the right of System files, select Include in the list.
    5. Search for the contents, name, date, etc. of the Mail message you're looking for. If it is no longer on your computer (why you're using TM in the first place), it won't show up yet.
    6. Start Time Machine with the search still going. It will search back in time and you will be able to find your old mail messages by content, date, etc.
    I'm not sure if restoring from the Finder view will work, but at least you'll now know what date to go back to when using Mail in Time Machine if you're looking for a specific message, and can then restore from there.
    Hopefully Apple can add search to Mail itself soon, but in the meantime this should work.

    EXTREMELY HELPFUL.... THANKS!!!

    I don't see anything obviously wrong in your code. Try adding
    session.setDebug(true);
    You can use the same Session for sending and for reading.
    A Session just encapsulates your configuration parameters,
    so as long as they're the same for both usages, one Session
    is fine.

  • How do I create a delay or time-lag for my data in LABVIEW

    In my data acquisition system I am using acquired data to create an digital output. I want to delay this output or create a sort of time lag for it. Is there any easy way to incorporate this?

    What you might consider doing is using a sequence. Run the data through this sequence and inside of the sequence, put a delay equal to the time you wish to delay the signal. Then, the output will not be available until the delay has completed.
    If you need continuous streaming data, this might not work too well. Then, you will need some sort of a data buffer - perhaps using a queue might be one possible solution. I have not used it, but I think that queues can have a time stamp. You could possibly artifically alter the time stamp.
    Hope this helps,
    Jason

  • How to send one single mail each time a table is updated with a batch of rows

    Hi!
    I would like to send one mail each time an integrations services inserts a batch of rows. I,ve tested with this code but it sends one mail for each row that is inserted to the table. How to adjust the code below so it only sends one email?
    Br Arne
    CREATE TRIGGER trao_FOBOSTAFKbelopp
    ON FOBOSTAFKbelopp
    AFTER INSERT
    AS
    BEGIN
    EXEC msdb.dbo.sp_send_dbmail
    @profile_name = 'ArneSqlDatabasemail',
    @recipients = '[email protected]',
    @subject = 'Ny förkalkyl',
    @body = 'Hej!
    En ny förkalkyl har registrerats.
    För att titta på den klicka på bifogad länk.
    Hälsningar
    Arne'
    END
    Arne Olsson

    That is because the process is inserting the rows one at a time.
    I would suggest changing your trigger to "log" the changed rows into a table, and then have a process which reads the log and generates the email.

  • Time lag

    something terrible is the i OS 7, all interface such as big time lag and it is on iPad with retina!! It’s really sad that Apple started to do such mistakes…
    iMessage is individually part, there is no iMassage on iOS 7 it's simply to say))) we have a lot of apple devices in our family and each of them have a problem with iMessage.
    Safari crash , another problem... My iPad decided to reboot today himself))) ITS TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE STOP IT!!! i os 7 such as android with samsung good hardware and awful software...i disappointed

    Mine does the same thing. It has to do with where it stores the music in memory I believe. It has to go to the location in memory and load all the screens and content. Same thing is true of any flash drive. In essence your iPod touch is just a big fancy flash drive.

  • Recording time lag

    my earlier problem (of audition recording the content of all tracks to the track i was trying to record only mic input to) seems to have more or less solved itself (but thanks anyway to ryclark). now i have another problem: when i record mic input it records with a time lag so it's out of synch with the music backing track.
    i've tried tweaking just about everything (buffer size, synch reference, offset) but nothing seems to cure this. it happened to me once before but i can't remember how i fixed it. anyone have any ideas?

    I'm having the exact same problem.  I'm using Audition 1.5 to record guitars for my band and when recording in multitrack there is a very short lag between what I'm playing and when it gets recorded.  So when I listen back to what I recorded, it's out of sync from the rest of the tracks.  I've tried everything the OP said as well and nothing seems to work.

    windows live mail having problem after joining in domain examples incoming is good but sent or outgoing is not there and also send mails are not exporting at the time of live mail exporting time?

    This is not usually related to AD issues, but it may be more of a DNS issue. I posted a request in your other thread to post an unedited ipconfig /all of the DC and of the client.
    This may help use diagnose this issue and your other thread's printer issues.

  • Mail in Time Machine

    Is there a way to search e-mail in Time Machine? I use Mail and when I start TM to look the search bar in Mail becomes ghosted leaving me with the one solution: look through every folder in every back up manually. Anyone have a suggestion?

    Hi,
    It seems not. It looks like you just have to go back through the various inboxes back in time.
    I tried a global spotlight search without luck.
    If the message was deleted i guess you would select the trash to view and step back until you found the message.
    I hope they deal with that. It would be nice to search back.
    I would put in a feedback note to Apple. I will too.
    Sorry i couldn't help. May be someone has an idea.
