E mail wont send on Charter

I am able to receive E mail on my iPhone but not send. I deleted my e mail account and then re-synced it using iTunes. That worked the last time this problem started. Now I am not sure how to fix this. I keep getting the message that the connection to the outgoing server smtp.charter.com failed.
The e mail has sent once when connected to a wifi connection. Any ideas? Thanks!

I just recently got my hands on the iphone, and I had the same problem. This problem is fixable. I will assume you know how to change the settings on your iphone if not, remember, google is your friend!! Charter blocks all SMTP request that is not requested from a charter ip. So yes setting will work on wi fi but not away from home. At&t will work because it fools charters servers into thinking you are sending from charters ip.
Make these settings:
Host: mail.charter.net
username: (email address but without @charter.net)
password: (your charter password)
SMTP: at&t smtp server
Hope this helps!!

  • Mail wont send from online too

my mail wont send even when i send it from on line. is anyone else having this problem??

I recently purchased a mac mail address
Are you sure it's a .Mac address, or is it a MobileMe address?
i can not send mail to her new address
Are you trying to send mail to that address from a different address, or from her own address?
What are the specific settings for the account (Incoming and Outgoing servers, port numbers for each, authentication method, and SSL status)?

  • Apple mail wont send or recieve

Until recently everything with Mail has been fine. However for some reason my iMac wont send or recive mail from one of my domains. My laptop, ipad and iphone will send and recieve mail OK from the domain. The email settings on the iMac, iPad, iPhone and macbook are all the same. ISP says the problem is not at their end. Any ideas?
Note that mail will send and recieve OK from another one of my domians across all platforms.

  • Mail wont send attachments..

My mail program (2.2.1) wont send emails with attachments, particularly images. It places them in the outbox, sometimes without the attachment. If it is with the attachment, when I open them up and try to send them, it crashes the entire program.
This is particularly frustrating as I am a photographer who needs this desperately...
I'm not sending attachments larger than 10M as I know this is my limit, I've looked through previous posts and tried deleting plists and rebuilding things. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be. I had a g4 12inch powerbook and I had no problems with this....
    Thanks.

It places them in the outbox, sometimes without the attachment.
Do you get an error message when this happens?
when I open them up and try to send them, it crashes the entire program.
Does it really crash (i.e. quit unexpectedly) or does it freeze (i.e. become unresponsive)?

Verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described here:
The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Network, choose Network Port Configurations from the Show popup menu, and make sure that the configuration used to connect to Internet appears at the top of the list. Leave checked (enabled) only the port configuration needed to connect to Internet and Built-in Ethernet (in that order if not the same), uncheck (disable) the rest of network port configurations, and see whether that helps — if it doesn’t, turn ON again the ones you want enabled.
Do you have any Mail plug-ins? In the Finder, go to each of the following folders (if they exist). What do you see there?
    /Library/InputManagers/
    /Library/Mail/Bundles/
    ~/Library/InputManagers/
    ~/Library/Mail/Bundles/
To make accurately reporting this information easier, you may open /Applications/Utilities/Terminal, type the following command (you can just copy it here and paste it in Terminal), and press <Return>. You can then copy the output of that command from Terminal and paste it in your reply to this post:
    ls -1 /Library/InputManagers /Library/Mail/Bundles ~/Library/InputManagers ~/Library/Mail/Bundles
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. You can easily locate any of the folders referred to in this post by copying the folder path here, doing Go > Go to Folder in the Finder, and pasting the folder path there.

  • Mail wont send emails

    Hi
I have had a look at some of the forums around trying to come up with a solution still I cant find one.
I have 1 email pending in my outbox and it wont let me send them saying my password is incorrect.  It seems to be just recently when I changed my hotmail pasword.  I have gone into the Mail preferences and changed the SMTP outgoing mail but it still comes up with it when ever i need to send an email.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks
    Amanda

Is the problem that Mail will not send ANY emails or that you cannot Reply to some emails.
If the former, look at your SMTP settings (not just the SMTP address) to ensure that your port number and authentication type are correct for your current ISP. Being abroad might have reset these.
If the latter, look at the "Send To address" which Mail has infrequently corrupted since Panther.
Sometimes if you Reply to an email sent from: <[email protected]>, Mail creates the corrupted address: "[email protected]><[email protected]" <[email protected]> which will not send successfully.

  • Mail wont send or receive messages

I have 4 different mailboxes set up on mail. I noticed earlier that several messages that I had sent were just witting in the sent folder like they were sending but they never would go. I tried to rebuild one of the mailboxes which is an imap account, but it simply deleted all the messages in my inbox? Its like mail is no longer communication with the mail servers? I have two different mail providers and it is doing this with both of them. I have also tried to restart several times with no luck.

  • Mail wont send emails - Help!

    Hello!
Unable to send emails from my Mac (G5 OSX 10.5.8) using Mail.
Dialogue box says "Verify that you have addressed this message correctly. Check your SMTP server settings in Mail Preferences and verify any advanced settings with your system administrator."
Email addresses are fine (in use for years) and smtp address is good too.
    Receiving incoming emails without problem.
Connection Doctor shows all is good for my 3 PoP accounts.
Problems started on returning from overseas trip. Abroad I use a Mac Pro which I upgraded to snow leopard. I also use MobileMe. The Mac Pro had issues sending mails too - using connections which had worked faultlessly for years. Had to restart it to send emails waiting in Outbox.
Any fixes or help for me?
    Thanks for any responses
    Cheers

  • Windows 8 Mail Wont Send

As of Yesterday, (27th Sept) My windows mail has stopped sending email to any of the IMAP accounts set up, I have seen this on multiple PCs with multiple IMAP accounts, so i'm pretty sure it's not a Mail server issue, and I have tried it via different internet
connections to rule out ISP issues.
    Symptoms:
Compose new email, click send, click sync, email then goes into drafts - in the top right, it says
    [email protected] is unavailable.
I have tried removing the account and re-adding it, and removing the mail app altogether then re installing it from the store with no joy.
Syncing with Hotmail is unaffected and works just fine.

  • Mac mail wont send from new address

I wonder if anyone can help me...I recently purchased a mac mail address for my girlfriend and i set it up. (anyone who has done this before will know that all you have to do is put your username and password in to set the @mac address up and all the rest is done for you). However, i can not send mail to her new address, nor can i send anything from her address. I can though send her mail on me.com, and i can also send and receive me.com mail from her mac. I have no idea what is going on. HEELLPP!!

  • My Webmail works great, but my regular POP mail wont send (will receive)

I have two servers, directnic standard set-up, checked by them, and same as has worked for two years. Each server has one email account and a web server, web works great and easily. Webmail works fine for both accounts, mail gets received fine in my mail app by both accounts when sent from my .mac account or my webmail via safari. But when I go to send from either account using mac mail I get "cant use that server" try this one... which of course doesn't work either (unless I select the .mac account sometimes.) both accounts are set up on same server names as work with webmail, same passwords, port 110 for POP... any ideas most appreciated.... I am probably staring at the problem but just cannot see it.... Thanks!

What are your settings for outgoing mail server? Pop (port 110) can't be used for outgoing mail, you need an SMTP server (normally port 25) for that.

  • Problem with mail, wont send messages

I have an aol mail account, and set it up with apple mail. I can recieve messages just fine, however when i send a message, i get the error "sender address was rejected by the server"

In case you're missing something, instructions for setting up an AOL account in Mail can be found here:
    http://members.aol.com/adamkb/aol/mailfaq/imap/applemail.html
The instructions are for Mail 1.3, but they can be used for Mail 2.x as well, noting that the Special Mailboxes preference pane is called Mailbox Behaviors in Mail 2.x.
You may also want to read the more general guide the above article is part of:
Accessing the AOL Mail System using IMAP - An Unofficial Guide
Also, Mail Help has some articles devoted to sending problems, e.g. I can't send email or I can't send email because the connection to the server on port 25 timed out. You may want to take a look at them in case there is something there that applies to you. Something that usually works is changing the outgoing server port to 587 instead of 25.

  • Oops...mail wont send large file and I cant get it to stop trying.

I was sending a ;large file (116 megs) email to my wife by mistake, thinking the file was the resized images I had. I was sending this via .me account. When I open mail now, my .me account still tries to send the files, and I cant make it stop. Its not in my drafts or outbox, but the cog spins forever on my .me account. I then see a folder which says it is a recovered mail folder and those images are in two emails in that folder. Any help? I just want my .me inbox to recieve mail again and to send mail when I need it to. This has been going on for two days now.

Search using the name of this large file in Spotlight -- anything show up in an unexpected location?
If you click on Window in the menubar, and choose Activity, what does it says is in process?
Quit Mail, and hold down the Shift key while clicking to relaunch Mail -- make any difference?
