E-mailing a 15mb movie

I have just bought quicktime pro for windows as I need to mail the above. No-one at Apple can tell me how to do it!! Help

QuickTime will have nothing to do with emailing a movie, or any other document attachment. That's totally up to your email client; you'll need to determine how to set your email application to attach a document to an email message.
You may also need to ask your Internet provider if they allow a 15MB attachment; if not, then you'll have to reduce the size of the movie, and that's something you can do with QuickTime Pro (assuming the movie is a format QT can handle), so if that's your question, post back with details on the movie (format, length, etc.) and the maximum size it can be and we'll try to help further.

Junk Mail won't move to Junk folder after training+switching to automatic

After training for months, I switched my preferences to automatic and now my existing junk mail doesn't move to the junk folder.

Same problem here - also using an IMAP account. Junk mail is labeled correctly but does not move automatically to the junk folder even though the option to do that is enabled in preferences.

Mail does not move Junk mail to the Junk mailbox.

I use OS X 10.9.3, Mail Version 7.3 (1878.2) and have created the rule that if Message is Junk, Move it to the Junk mailbox, but it does not work. Junk messages remain in the Inbox, even after I select messages and Apply rules. I have tried marking and unmarking as Junk, and then they disappear, but this is obviously not a sustainable longterm solution. Any other suggestions?

Hi Jeff, are you saying the Inbox with Junk is inside the Junk Folder, or is this a different account?
First Quit Mail, look in the finder for those IMAP folders inside your...
Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/IMAPaccount folder, move them where they should be in the Finder.
Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move this folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
Reboot.
If that doesn't do it and you can afford to redo all your Rules, try these & reboot...

Try Settings>Mail, contacts, calendars>Your email account>Advanced>Move Discarded Messages into>Deleted Mailbox.
Or Settings>Mail, contacts, calendars>Your email account>Account>Advanced>Move Discarded Messages into>Deleted Mailbox....and Mailbox Behaviors>. Deleted Mailbox>Trash.

I have enabled junk mail filtering to move designated junk mail to junk mailbox when it arrives. But it no longer does so. Why not? I am using an iMac with version 10.10.1

Try resetting the Junk Mail filter. This will start it on a new learning curve. Mail/Preferences/Junk Mail.

Getting mail to automatically move messages out of inbox

Hi,
I'm not that great at keeping my inbox organised and I wondered if there is a way to get Mail to automatically move messages from my inbox to another folder when they are over a certain number of days old? I've tried rules, but learnt that doesn't work because it only applies to incoming messages, a smart mail box but that does move the messages but collects them. I also tried to do an automator workflow but can't find an action to move messages?
I'm not tech-savy enough to start writing scripts and I wondered if anyone knew of a simple solution.
I'm using mail v4.5 and OSX 10.6.8

I think it's not possible using standard XI mail adapter (settings do not provide any filtering options), and I'm even not sure POP3 or IMAP allow you to pull specific msgs according to selection criterias (I may be wrong) ... So if one of this protocol allows it, I think you'll have to go for a custom mail adapter that will fulfill your need !
Otherwise (and this is what we've done), you can pull all msgs, route them according to its attributes (sender, subject, recipient) to the corresponding targets and when XI is not able to deal with some msgs, ignore them (in the rcv determination, select the corresponding option so no error is raised when recv det does not succeed) ...

When I apply a mail rule to move a message to a different mailbox, large attachments are unreadable

I have a rule in Mail: Move messages that were sent to a particular accout, to a particular mailbox. It moves the message like it's supposed to but if there are attachments over about 1 MB the attachment is no longer there, and instead there's a bunch of code in the body of the message. With smaller attachments, the message appears in the new mailbox with the file attached, just as expected. Anybody know what's up? Thanks, Bob

You can't simply feed it some arbitrary script to execute, you have to write a handler that Mail can dispatch events to. This generally looks something like

Mail Sender Adapter - Move email after picked up

Hello,
We are planning to connect SAP PI with the MS exchange server in order to get some email attachments and process them. We have find how we should configure the adapter to connect the exchange server (( [Sender Mail configuration|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/Helpdata/EN/23/c093409c663228e10000000a1550b0/content.htm] )) but we still have a doubt related with the message already processed.
In the adapter parameters there is one section regarding 'Delete message once read' + u2018Folder for deleted messageu2019 where the emails could be sent once processed. Is it possible to configure multiple folders based in the sender, receiver, subject of the email? What we would need is organize the processed emails based in simply rules.
How could we perform this behavior with the standard adapter for email?

I do not think PI would let you do that. How ever, once you move your read mail in to one of the folders on your Exchange server, you can configure rule there (on that mail box.. may be) so that based on sender/mail subject etc the messages can be distributed in to further folders.

Mail + Exchange 2007 + Move message doesn't work

I have my Apple mail program setup to use my work Exchange account and for the most part it works great. However, when I try to move mail from my Inbox to a subfolder, it fails. I've tried dragging the mail to the folder and I've tried going through the right click menu. I've also tried different folders and different pieces of mail with the same result. I can move messages with my iPhone and with my work PCs Outlook client. Lastly, I've checked the main network ports on the Exchange server to verify that my communications with the server are not being blocked. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Deleted a message from Mail does not move it to the trash folder

I am a brand new mac user, so it's possible I just don't know what I am doing yet.
I have added my IMAP email account to Mail with the following mailbox behavior:
When I delete a message from my Inbox, in Mail it appears to move to the Trash folder. However, if I log into the webmail interface I can see it actually still exists in the Inbox, but has been marked as deleted (there is a line through it). It is not actually moving the message on the server into a trash folder, like iPad does. If I pull up the Trash folder on my iPad, it does automagically reflect the item I deleted. However, on my phone (not an iPhone), the messages are missing from the Trash folder.
How do I configure Mail on my Mac to behave like Mail on the iPad? When I delete a message, I want it to move the message into the Trash folder on the server.

I figured it out. Mail created a new folder called, "Deleted Messages." I was looking in "Deleted Items," which was an old folder.

Mail did not move, and is now blocked

Yesterday, when I bought my iPad 2 mail worked fine.
Today I found out that it did not move from portrait into landscape.
Now it does not work at all; I cannot go to another mail or delete a message.
Does anybody know how to solve that?

Try turning the account off and on : Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars , then tap the account on the right, slide Mail to 'off', exit settings and go back into the Mail app, and then go back to Settings and slide Mail back to 'on'
If that doesn't work then try closing the Mail app completely : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
Also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
For the iPad not rotating, is there a lock symbol at the top of the screen next to the battery indicator ? If so, then depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (rotation lock or mute notifications), then you can lock/unlock the rotation by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. Behavior when an e-mail is deleted. I'd like the mail client to move down

Currently when I am reading mail and the preview pane and I delete a message, it moves up to the next message above it. I'd like it to move down to the next message rather than up. So I can save messages at the top.
Is there a setting to change to this?

In the Mail application window, click where you see: "From" You should be able to delete from the bottom or the top that way. More or less like a toggle.

Where does mail go after move to..?

I need help. Here is what I did.
While I was reading my email I did right click on the message, and choose Move to — inbox — account name. it was the same folder (account name), for some reason I though it was on another mail account ( I have two imap accounts from yahoo). But then the email was gone and I can't find anywhere neither on the yahoo server or the mail client., I have enabled show deleted messages, but it's not showing, also tried reindex email with out luck..
On yahoo server was deleted immediately, and it’s not in the trash folder.
So where has gone this email, is there anyway to recover that email or is this a bug of Mail 7.0 ?
I tried doing the same thing with another not important email with the same problem, once I choose move to the primary inbox folder which is the one that received the email, the email is gone

This also happened to me with a Yahoo account using OS X Mail. If you select a message and perform Move To -> Inbox it will disappear from Mail and disappear from the Yahoo mail server. I lost an important message accidentally and the only thing I can think of is to have Yahoo restore my inbox to an earlier time. This is a terrible bug, do not use this menu item using OS X mail with a Yahoo account!

When I try to move a message (from the inbox, for example) into one of my yahoo Mail folders, I get this message:_"Unable to Move Message."_
Is this happening to you? Is there a solution??

Have you tried deleting the Yahoo account and readding it? Was it working earlier(with the update)? I know Yahoo has been very up and down with various things so possibly there might be a server related problem if it just started.
You could also possibly try to reset the network settings and then try to move the messages.
