E Mailing and Uploading Photos
In using PSE4 to e-mail or upload photos must outlook be open at onset
or is there a default that will open outlook when pics sent.
If default can be set please advise of settings

Re email, you are limited by the file size that your server is able to send.
One way is to import your DV into an iMovie project. Then Share > Email the movie. That will send a compressed version. Small in size, but viewable. If your server is able to send very large sizes, or if it is a very small movie file size, you can File > Export your iMovie project to your desktop as a Full Quality Quicktime movie, and drag that into your email. The recipient should then be able to view it in full size.
The lower the frame rate, the more compressed your movie will be. If the default frame rate for the email function compresses your movie more than necessary, you can manually compress the movie at a higher frame rate. To do this: File > Export > Quicktime >Expert Settings > Share > Export Movie to Quicktime Movie > Options > Settings > then adjust the frame rate in the frame rate box > OK > Save. I noticed in there a box that said Prepare Movie for Internet Streaming. Possibly that might be what you need to upload to the internet at whatever settings that the internet website requires. I'm not sure about that because I have never uploaded to the internet. But there are others on this site who have done so and hopefully they will weigh in here.

I just set up a new computer running Windows 8.1. When I go to my icloud photostream, the pictures are in PNG format NOT JPG. When I open and upload photos from the photostream, the resolution is so low that the image quality is terrible. Help?!?
Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. IOS 8 - mail and non-photo/video attachment
Hello, I had a really simple question regards iOS 8 (sorry if this has been answered before),
Is it yet possible to compose or reply to an email in the Mail App and insert a attachment that isn't a photo or video (e.g. word document or PDF) without leaving the mail app.
I have heard a bit about Document Picker, but not quick sure how to enable this function.

REII think I found the problem. It was Apple's new Photos app and the Photos Cloud. Enabling that cloud sucked up most of my meager bandwidth as it uploaded my photo library to the cloud. When I paused the upload the problem went away! It took a week to upload my library. Unfortunately unless you avoid photos Cloud, there is no way around this issue. I don't think Apple thought this through completely before launching that app

Facebook status updates and uploading photos on no...
Hi.I dont seem to be able to update my facebook status or upload photos on the above handset.However I can update my facebook status on my nokia 2330 without any problems.I was able to update my status on my nokia 5530 until last week when it decided to stop doing that.I have come to a dead end now and wondered if anyone had experienced this or has a solution.

I can provide some info about your Facebook question. You can update your status via text message (actually text Facebook). Unless you updated your Facebook status by sending a text message, you are not charged for text messages. I assume you are using your web browser to browse through Facebook which does not incur any text messaging charges.
If you'd like to see your text messaging details, you can go to www.verizonwireless.comand sign in as the account holder. Click on view usage> view usage details to see the numbers texted to and from.

Safari CRASHES whenever i try and upload photos to ANY website arghhhhh!
Hi guys your all super intelligent and i thought you would be a better source of help than ringing apple!
Everytime i try to upload photos to any website including .mac safari crashes.
Also most websites only load after failing once and then pressing refresh!
any ideas!!

Problems opening and uploading photos
so ive been using aperture since june and it is completely updated and has worked fine until now. every time i try to open aperture it will just freeze up and i am forced to force quit. the only way it will open is if i set it to open at login. when it is open and i try to upload pictures, they will not be displayed and when i click import, it will just freeze again. i shoot in RAW and only have around 1000 photos in my library. can someone please explain what is going on and what i should do??????
If you would like troubleshooting help please post complete system setup info including drives, how full, etc.

IPhoto: descriptions lost when e-mailing and uploading to Face Book
Also, in prior versions of iPhoto, in the same item photo, my descriptions automatically appeared. This no longer happens in v11. VERY disappointed! Now, I must copy/paste the descriptions. This same situation also happens when posting to Face Book.----Also inconvenient: in the "contact sheet" view, to send my e-mail, I must now print to .pdf in order so that I can e-mail a contact sheet to my accounts (and reminder, I have no e-mail record of whom I sent what!)----Can you help?
I'm not sure that iphoto, which is a handy manager for family snaps, is appropriate to a Professional operation. Perhaps you need to find a more appropriate application.

how can i save some photo..You are checking the Camera Roll or Saved Photos album in the Photos app ? If so then you could try a reset to see if that fixes it : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

our old iMac died suddenly, but i had backed up the iPhoto application to a lacie external hard drive. however, when i try to open it in my new iMac which is installed with version 9.5.1 and is upgraded to maverick, it comes up with “cannot be opened, to open you must upgrade to latest version” and then makes you press the quit button.
the iPhoto version on the external hard drive is iPhoto 9.4.2 which i upgraded on 29/11/12 onto our old iMac (early 2007 version)
my new iMac is running on version OSX 10.9.1
i have looked at buying iphoto library manager and have emailed them about whether this would work, but any advice would be gratefully received as i cannot be the only person that has had this problem but i cannot find any answers that work.

JulieYOu can rebuild with Library Manager and this does not require a purchase:
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. -
Iphoto crash and uploaded photos lost
Hi I am flabbergasted!
I tranfered 300+ photos to iphoto, created a folder for them, and was just doing some editing when the program froze, closed and when I reoped the program the new directory was there, however there were no photographs in the folder. During the process up transfer the oroginals were deleted (as per the cue), so now I have nothing - all my christmas photos gone. Please sombody tell me how I can get them back!

So what are you calling folders? Events? Albums?
as to the importing - a best practice to is to never have any computer program (including iPhoto) delete the photos from the card but to import the photos and keep them and then after at least one successful backup cycle has completed and the reformat the card -- I use three very large (32 GB) cards in rotation so I do not reformat for typically a year or more giving me one more long term backup of my photos
Depending on exactly what you have done and what you are seeing you may have to use data recovery software to recover the photos on your memory card - downoad media recover and with the free trial see what you can recover - do not use your card until this is resolved - if necessary you can purchase media recover and recover what it sees

I am designing a website. I am not a programmer, by my client wants a page where she can log-in and upload photos with a brief description. I want the page to look like the rest of the design. Is there a easy way to do this, or is there a small app that I can load in?

If you are unfamiliar with forms and processing them, getting to upload images is going to be a tall order for you to learn it all at once.
Its really a 3 part answer
1. How to write the form, that one is easy
2. How to write the script to get the photos, and a place to put them, a little more involved
3. How to display the photos once you have them, there you would get into creating a database to get the photos that you have been sent.

Ethernet cable? I am not sure what one is, I think this is how I was connecting when I was with Talk Talk. Is it where you connect to the BT phone socket with a little white box thingy? Please let me know. To be honest, I thought the whole point of the setup I have now was the newest technology which did away with that sort of connection.
