E-mailing discussion posts from within this site
On a couple of occasions, I have used a discussion post's "email" button (embedded next to the reply button) in order to send myself a copy of an especially pertinent post. Each time, when the page comes up in which I am to fill out the email address, etc., I notice that the actual body of the email contains gibberish code. (Most of this is
at the end of each line).
And yes, when I receive the email the code is indeed visible there as well, rendering the post quite difficult to read.
I realize that I can just hand edit this before I complete my use of the discussion post's email feature. But...that seems like a clunky solution. Is something wrong at my end with the Discussion site or are others experiencing this, too?
The markup you see in emails is encoded into our posts automagically by the by the forum software. Pressing Return twice, for example, inserts the <br /> tag into the markup, even though that line break tag isn't visible to us in the text field on a Reply page.
This markup becomes visible in emails (presumably) because the email feature grabs the text from the source and attaches it to the email in a plain text format. The more markup that is contained in a topic, the more you will see in the emails you send.
When you become a little more familiar with the markup you see in the emails it will become less obtrusive. If you really don't like it, you can always press command-P and save the topics that interest you as PDFs rather than using the email feature.

View mail messages posted from Outlook?
Please help!!!
How I can view messages posted from Outlook?
I want to use swing controls which can show formated text and pictures like in Outlook.Resolved, had to move the mail messages into a new temporary user account delete the cyrus header/cache/index then do a user rebuild on the temp user with mail bfr. Looks like it finally got them all in. Still not sure why mailbfr couldn't restore the original user, maybe corruption, but that wasn't the point of the question.

Mail attachment button from within Iphoto is not working wth mail
Just upgrade to Ilife 08 and now from iphoto when select apicture and click on mail it never creates a new mail message with my photos attached. geez this is such a simple bug how could it be missed.
eudamon:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Did you repair disk permissions after installing iLife 08? If not do so now. Next delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that's in your User/Library/Preferences folder.
Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file. -
Verizon's use of incorrect grammar in posted advertising on this site.
You need to provide your proofreaders with proper English guidelines fo the use of the word "your" and "you're." They are not interchangeable. In your advertisement for the use of your cell phone to provide Verizon services "whilte your on the go," the correct word should be "you're" which stands for "you are" and is the correct terminology, whereas your use of the word "your" is incorrect.
The only fix for this, of course, if for y'all to change your word.
DReeddreed wrote:
... the correct word should be "you're" which stands for "you are" and is the correct terminology, whereas your use of the word "your" is incorrect ...
Now that you mentioned it ...
1. Your use of "stand for" is incorrect in this instance. "You're" doesn't stand for anything. Rather it's a contraction of "you are," has the identical meaning, and does not represent "you are." See for example:
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/stand+for
2. Your use of "terminology" is incorrect in this instance. Neither "you're" nor "you are" is classified as "terminology" in standard English. The correct word here is "usage." See for example:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terminology
It's always refreshing to encounter fellow defenders of the English language. -
Sorry for my english.
I have my own website (can tell you the name, if you ask). In December after I have installed 5.0.1 my website and the post doesnt work via 3g, gprs.
With wi-fi everething is ok. In opera via 3g, gprs, wi-fi everething is ok.
thank youDear Forum viewers,
With lots of digging and faffing around I have discovered what the problem was.
A supposedly benign programme that had been running in the background for years, was the culprit.
It took some finding, it is a complete b4st4rd!
Uninstall 'Peerguardian' whatever you do.
Problem solved.

I am unable to reach the my content page of mysites from the name link within my site collection
For some reason I am no longer able to get to the personal mysites page from within our site collection. My name appears at the top right and it has an option for setting which leads to some minimal page but I can no longer use this to get to the actual
mysites page. Is there a setting I am missing that allows this to happen?Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you failed to reach the content page of mysites from the name link within site collection.
As this issue is always related to the inadequacy configuration about the MySite, you need to make sure that you had configured correctly with your MySite. You can refer to:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee624362(v=office.14)
What’s more, you can also check with the following steps.
Make sure the Web site for MySites in IIS is started.
Make sure the App pool is running
Use ULSVIEWER to check your Sharepoint ULS logs for the issue.
There are two similar articles for your reference.

Mail Merge From Within Professional 8
Hi,
Is there any function in Professional 8 similar to Word's Mail Merge? I work for a company that has a need to "stamp" unique copy numbers on certain documents. Here's what we presently do:
We have a Word file of a testing procedure (we have a number of different testing procedures), and we receive a request for x number of controlled copies so that the analysts in the labs can conduct testing. An example of the number for the first controlled copy for this year would be: TD125-09-0001 (TD=Testing Document, 125=the main document number (which never changes, we have about 130 of these documents), 09=the year, and 0001=unique controlled copy number. So we would issue TD125-09-0001, TD125-09-0002, TD125-09-0003, TD125-09-0004 and so on depending on a given request.
Now the problem: We are going to be switching to an Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) in which the documents, when printed from within the EDMS system will print with the EDMS Headers and Footers, and therefore cannot be brought outside of the system.
My workaround was to print out the Testing Document from within EDMS, therefore it will print with all the appropriate Headers and Footers that the system generates upon printing...then scan the document as a PDF to use as a template, and apply the controlled copy numbers to the PDF version. The only problem is that Acrobat doesn't seem to have functionality similar to Word's Mail Merge....the beauty of which is you choose which "recipients" you would like to merge, and regardless of the length of the document, it will imprint the same number on every page, print another copy with the next sequential number, etc. I've looked around in the Professional 8 application and the closest I've come is forms, but then you have no functionality to generate sequential copy numbers except to do each one manually.
Does anyone know of a plug-in or scripting that will mimic the functionality of Mail Merge but from within Adobe?
Much Appreciation In Advance!,
PaulHi Rick
To explain in brief, the main master table (OCRD) is replicated in fields in the audit trail table (ACRD). A few additional fields are available in the ACRD such as Instance which is a numeric incremental number for each update to a master. Instance 1 is of course the Add action when it is created. Therefore you can pull the information of the BP straight from the ACRD table without having to join and using the MAX number of Instance to get the latest "snapshot" of the master. Then there are fields such as update date and time which can be used to determine if any records have been updated in say the last 5 minutes for example.
Another suggestion would be to add an activity to the BP rather for each letter that must be created, as this will give you history of each letter that was sent. What can work quite nicely will be to change the layout of the activity to be some letter format and then possibly save this to PDF or print to a Document generator printer as a TIFF file and then attach these back to the activity. From the activity you could also fax, email or print the letter.
The above scenarios are just a suggestion, and I guess a way of trying to impress on you that SAP Business One is still a good choice, despite a few shortcomings. The important thing to remember with SAP Business One is it's flexibility in terms of User Defined Fields, Formatted Searches, SDK, UDO's, DI API, etc. which can in many cases overcome functional gaps. The best advise is to consider how big the gap is and what it will cost to fill it in terms of project time line and cost.
Hope this helps
Kind regards

Calling non-static command from within static method
Hello,
I have a static method that reads bytes from serial port, and I want to set a jTextField from within this method. but I get error that says it is not possible to call non static method from a static one. How can it be solved?ashkan.ekhtiari wrote:
No, MTTjTextField is the name of jTextFiled class instance. You haven't declared any such variable in the class you posted, not to mention that such a variable name violates standard code conventions.
This is and instance of that object actually. You haven't declared any such variable in the class you posted.
the problem is something else. No, it isn't, based on the information you have provided. If you want accurate guidance, don't post misleading information about your problem.
It can not be set from within static method.A question commonly asked on Java forums concerns an error message similar to the following:
non-static variable cannot be referenced from a static context
In Java, static means "something pertaining to an object class". Often, the term class is substituted for static, as in "class method" or "class variable." Non-static, on the other hand, means "something pertaining to an actual instance of an object. Similarly, the term instance is often substituted for non-static, as in "instance method" or "instance variable."
The error comes about because static members (methods, variables, classes, etc.) don't require an instance of the object to be accessed; they belong to the class. But a non-static member belongs to an instance -- an individual object. There's no way in a static context to know which instance's variable to use or method to call. Indeed, there may not be any instances at all! Thus, the compiler happily tells you that you can't access an instance member (non-static) from a class context (static).
Once you understand this concept, you can fix your own problem.

Retrieving Jar path in the HD from within the jar?
I have a small problem. I wrote a program which is packed in a jar file and this program is able to compile and run java files (Which I do by running javac and java processes) but the kind of files that this program compiles requires some other libraries inside the same package (In the jar file) so I am wondering how can I retrieve the jar path in the harddisk from within this jar because at the moment I ask the user where the program is and I think it is kind of ugly to ask the user where the program is from within the exact same program we are looking for.
Hope I made myself understandable.

I downloaded a plug-in from this site to change the look of my FB profile:
[http://www.cuvce.com/download/update-fb1.php?h=eNortjI3sVKqSS4tS07VS87PrTHRM0gyNKpJS0oyNEESzigpKVA1dlQ1cgOi8vJyvbTE5NSk_PxssKyhkaWlmYGZkaWJkjVcMHPaGoM, Change Facebook profile ]
It has since began to post on each of my friends profiles as if it is a wonderful idea and it's not. Please help me delete it. It is not coming up as an application. It also utilized Firefox as a supporter or used its logo along with its promotion. It downloaded Bing as a toolbar as well. That sounds like an unusual problem. Did it install as an Extension, or as a Plugin? Check in the Addons Manager, and check to see where it appears. If it appears in the Plugins area, then you can disable the plugin, killing its ability to do anything. If it is an Extension, it will be under the Extension section of the Addon Manager. Select to Uninstall and then allow it to do what needs to be done to remove it from your system. If nothing else works, you could try creating a new profile in Firefox and using it instead.
For more information about using the Firefox Profile Manager, I suggest you read [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing%20profiles this] article on the Mozilla Support zone. While it does state that features such as the Profile Manager are for advanced users and developers, it can also be used in situations where an addon installs itself and you have difficulty removing it from a profile.
I suggest you open a program such as Notepad on Windows (or TextEdit on Mac OS X), and then note down the Extensions and Themes you make the most use of when browsing the internet. Generally, addons such as AdBlock Plus will rank highly on a list such as this, and they tend to be the first extensions I install.
If you do decide you want to customize your Facebook interface in the future, did you know there are several ways to do so with extensions for Firefox? Using [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/stylish/ Stylish] and [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/greasemonkey/ Greasemonkey], as well as their respective sites (Userstyles and Userscripts, respectively) can allow you to find some methods for tweaking your Facebook profile. Note that these customizations are local to you, as are the ones you initially attempted to install. In other words, they are only visible on your computer.
For example, if you were to customize your Facebook on your PC, and then use a friend's computer, you would not see the customizations, even if they were using Firefox as well. This means you can have your Facebook profile how you want it, without making it harder for others to see. I hope this is of help, and thanks for using Firefox! -
