When I send a message from my work to my Home Verizon e-mail Account the message come back Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender. This started about 3 weeks ago here is the error: host relay.verizon.net[206.46.232.11] said: 421 4.4.2 Timeout while waiting for command. That does not seem to be a viable option when its affecting numerous people with the same problem. I need a better answer then wait! Almost a Month now and its still a problem. I have tried it with Outlook 2003, Outlook 2007, Outlook 2010, Using Norton Internet Security 2012, and MacAfee on different systems and still the same outcome. Anyone else have a fix/solution other then wait? Thank You

This started about 3 days ago. I could manually push email through in the last few days but can no longer. I have deleted the account and re-entered the settings but I get a message that I cannot connect to the server.

Apple E-mail users aren't receiving E-mail from Time-Warner (Road Runner) customers

I can't find any appropriate place to report this on Apple's site. After a couple of friends suddenly didn't receive my E-mails, I noticed that they're both using me.com or mac.com addresses. Everyone else gets my messages fine.
Turns out that Time-Warner cable customers (at least in southern California) can't send E-mail to me.com or mac.com addresses right now. And any attempt to report the problem there is met with extreme ignorance of how E-mail works. I escalated the problem as far as they could (ooh, "level 3" technician) and didn't talk to a single person who understood E-mail servers at even a basic level.

I live in Wisconsin and am experiencing the same issue. I have friends using Roadrunner in Green Bay and Milwaukee who send messages to my me.com account which I never receive. They get the following bounce back message:

As part of the delivery process, your message was relayed to a machine which does not handle delivery status notifications. A likely cause of this message is that you sent a message to someone and you had "Receipt Requested" turned on, hoping to get an acknowledgement that your recipient received the message in question. Receipts such as this are also called "Delivery Status Notifications", and some mail systems are configured to not send receipts, due to local policy implemented there. What this message is telling you is that you sent a message with receipt requested to a site that does not provide such receipts.
No solution at this point.

Why can't I create Road Runner account?

Set up the trial .mac mail account okay.
Have a hawaii.rr email on old PC and trying to set up on laptop.
Sometimes the pop-server creates but the smtp-server doesn't and sometimes neither one creates.
Called RR twice...they keep saying it's a Apple problem.

My Road Runner account ran into the same problem until my friend cloeb fixed it for me. The two techs I had talked to previously at RR told me to contact Apple, as it was their issue.
Maybe something in the above-mentioned thread will work for you.

If the settings are correct?, Then delete the account and start over. You may also try to restart your phone by holding the home and off button down till the apple symbol comes up.

Maybe I'm missing something but how can Verizon have control over your personal GMail account? Sounds like you do have your email set up to forward to sms.
I have certain emails that are forwarded to me as SMS but that is an option that is enabled on the email side of things and is independent from Verizon.

All it takes is for one computer to be infected by a virus (obviously a PC) that sends all its contacts to the hacker's server, and then all these contacts are used as recipients to scam emails. Hackers even post stolen contacts on the web for others to use.

Try Mail->Window->Connection Doctor. If there is a problem reported, try:
Open Mail->Preferences and check your settings.
If you still have a problem, Copy your settings (screen capture ⇧⌘4), delete account, and re-setup account

IPhone4 - Outgoing Mail - Road Runner Account

Outgoing Road Runner mail on my iPhone 4 is unbelievably slow (2-3 minutes or more to send an outgoing message, even when I'm on wifi with a full signal). I have changed the outgoing server settings from the Road Runner server to the AT&T servers (first choice is cwmx.com and also have ATT&T STMP server on - all others are off). Anyone have any idea why this is happening and any suggestions on how to fix it ?

TWC has that issue per your last line. One thing I did was copy everything from my G4 in case apple lost my data. I have everything from my mail folder. Can I do an import like bookmarks? I will try your recipe and see what happens.
This has been so long, but apple had to put a : colon on the end of smtp-server.carolina.rr.com and I want to say it was my username, but other threads have said to put a server port 587 on the back of the outgoing. It is really confusing that apple didn't know how to do this when I called support yesterday.
Now I am hooked up to the airport express via a apple wireless card, but that shouldn't make a difference

Thunderbird no longer recognizes my Road runner Account

I upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7. Now Thunderbird no longer connects with my Bright House road runner email account. I removed the account from Thunderbird and tried to re-add it, but I get a message that my username and/or password is incorrect. I can get my email (with the very same username and password) using windows Mail, and also Road runner Webmail, so I know that the user info is correct. Thunderbird still recognizes my other email accounts (gmail and hotmail). The configuration problem only applies to Road Runner email.

Confirmed workarounds:
* While composing an email open the address book and select the list you are trying to send to, highlight all the names in the list and drag them to the To: box. This uses your existing data without modifying it.
* Replacing the blanks " " between the words in such lists' descriptions with an underscore "_". This requires modifying your mailing list(s) description(s).

Why can't I push my mail from iCloud to my MobileMe account?

iCloud and MobileMe are similar but separate services, iCloud is replacing MobileMe. Having migrated to iCloud you should now only use your iCloud account. You can access your iCloud e-mail, in your mail application by enabling it in system preferences >iCloud .

How do I make my personal "reminders" seperate from my work Outlook email account?

I will ask Siri to "Remind me to clean the guest bathroom tub when I get home". I get the reminder, but then when I get into the office the next morning, they pop up on my Outlook as outdated reminders. Very embarrasing to have one of my coworkers see a peronsal reminder that I set for myself from home.. I am using an iPhone4S and an iPad 3 - both connected to the same Apple ID. I still want my Outlook Calendar to show me reminders from my work meetings and other invitations from colleagues, though..
Anybody know how I would go about setting my personal reminders to not go to my Outlook calendar? I'm a bit confiused as to how these are all connected and intertwined. So if someone could explain (in very lamen's terms) how this is connected as well, that would probably help my thinking pathh in terms of iCloud, syncing with other devices and emails..etc

Additional info: I have my personal email account loaded (gmail), another personal email (local to my website) loaded, and then my outlook email loaded as well.

For email, I prefer my Yahoo and Gmail accounts, but when I click an email address online, my Mac's Mail program automatically comes up, as if I want to use it to send my email. It also starts downloading my latest email. I frantically shut it down while trying to memorize the email address I want to send a message to using another of my accounts. I do this because when Mail downloads my email, the same new messages in my other accounts get changed from "unread" to "read." How do I stop Mail from being my default for outgoing mail when clicking on email addresses found on webpages and commandeering my incoming email?

Try, after a back up, deleting the account and re-creating it. You can also try contacting Yahoo, I have Yahoo and have had "weird problems with them". Deleting and re-creating has solved my issue in the past, try it and contact them.
The problem is on their end, in my experience.

IPHONE 3G and Road Runner accounts

Hello all,
Finally got my IPHONE 3G and everything is wonderful except for the Roadrunner email setup..
Like the last IPHONE I followed all of the instructions but still no happy. Noticed that in the basic setup it adds the CWMX.COM to the outgoing SMTP configuration but that’s not the real issue at this point. The problem is that IPHONE acts like its pulling or fetching the mail but nothing shows up. I have tried several combinations but I do not take an error it just does not get the mail.
Any ideas would be great.. Thanks

My experience has been that you can only send via smtp-server.blah.rr.com if you are connected into the RoadRunner network (e.g., at home connected via your own wi-fi). Sending on EDGE or 3G is not likely to work unless you use CWMX.com or AuthSTMP, some smtp which is not part of the RoadRunner network.
Not unique with the iPhone. True for laptops when traveling, too.
