E-mails only delivering when PC on

Im having a problem, i have set 2 blackberries up to exchange etc. Am using Blackberry manager, however when e-mails are sent to these users, they only receive the e-mails on the blackberry when the client PC is switched on.
Im not too sure why this is, on the client PC they have 2 accounts setup 1 pop3 e-mail account and 1 exchange account which are both the same e-mail addresses.

How were the email accounts set up - using the BlackBerry Desktop Redirector service or using BlackBerry Internet Service?
To check, on the BlackBerry device go into Options -> Advanced Options -> Service Book and look for the email address. You should see two listed followed by [CICAL] and [CMIME].
If you don't see the email address, you might see two that say Desktop [CICAL] and [CMIME]. If so, when you click into them, do you see the email address listed under UID?

Amavisd not running, mails not delivered when spam filter is enabled

Hey everyone,
So I've got a slight problem here with a 10.4.11 server. Our spam filter was set to be too tolerant of spam, allowing a threshold 22.0 before bouncing it, so through the command line I edited /etc/amavisd.conf to $sa_kill_level_deflt = 6.0; tag2 is set to 3.0. Then I bounced amavisd via:
sudo /bin/launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/org.amavis.amavisd.plist
sudo /bin/launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/org.amavis.amavisd.plist
Well that caused all sorts of whacky issues with the queue. The server couldn't connect to itself and wouldn't deliver any mail, only queue it up. So I went back in to amavisd.conf and changed the parameters back to default, then bounced amavisd again. To no avail. Then I restored from a backup file I had created and bounced amavisd again to no avail.
Finally I removed the junkmail and virus filters via SA, saved, then reenabled them to no avail. Then I just disabled them and mail is flowing again, but I still have 187 messages in my queue that wont get delivered no matter how many times I flush it.
After more research, I issued a ps -U clamav to see if amavisd is running, below are the only results I get:

I would assume it is NOT running...? I next issued amavisd to see if it throws any errors, and get the following:

To get the queue going, issue:
sudo postsuper -r ALL
That said, I would think you initially introduced a typo in amavisd.conf. Next you probably restored amavisd and amavisd.conf files which were incompatible with each other and/or amavis incompatible with the updated perl modules of the latest security update.
To fix things, I would re-apply the latest combo updater and security updates (assuming you are running stock versions and have not installed your own versions of amavisd, etc).
If things still do not work, please post the output of:
amavisd -V

My mail only updated when I open it up

I have gmail and I would like my phone to let me know when I get a new email. But it only opens new messages when I open the mail up

It has to be set up for push, or fetch at a certain interval. The only way for push is if it is set up as an Exchange account, and I believe that cannot be done anymore. They have stopped support for new active sync accounts.

Mail not delivered when sent with the Unix "mail" command

I am trying to send mail from the Unix command line with the "mail" command. Whenever I try to send an e-mail using a command of the form:
    mail -s 'This is the subject' <email address>
the mail message always ends up in subdirectories of the postfix "deferred" directory:
    /private/var/spool/postfix/deferred
It seems that the mail system runs for 60 seconds after an e-mail is sent and during that time I can run "mailq". If I do that I see something like the following:

It seems to be complaining that the connection timed out to broadpark.no\[217.13.4.67\], which is the domain of my ISP.
My outgoing SMTP mail server is:

Could it be that mail system is trying to connect to the wrong SMTP mailserver? If so, how can I fix this?
I should mention that mail flows perfectly in and out of my machine via the Mail.app program. I am only having problem sending mail down at the Unix command line level.
I had this working on OS X 10.4.x, but this is the first time I have tried this with Leopard.
Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Perhaps I should have been a little bit clearer why I want to be able to send mail via my local mail/postfix system: I have several servers set up on my iMac, in particular:
    apache
    trac
I want these servers to be able to send mail to, e.g.,
    webmaster@localhost
    root@localhost
    trac@localhost
I have created aliases for these addresses in:
    /etc/postfix/aliases
(I have also executed "newaliases"). These aliases all point to my own user account on the same machine (my iMac).
Finally, I have a .forward file at the root level of my OS X account that forwards all local Unix mail to my normal e-mail account handled by my ISP.
This way, all local mail sent to "webmaster2, "root", "trac", etc., should be sent to my normal e-mail address that I monitor with Mail.app.
*This all worked perfectly with Mac OS X 10.4.x,* so I know it should be possible. However, I have only now just tried to set this up 10.5.x (Leopard) and, clearly, I am having problems.
Perhaps this motivation for wanting to send e-mail via the Unix mail system will help others understand my situation, and I hope someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks very much in advance.

I assume, you've activated the thunderbirtd junk-filter? Or do you use your own filters?
May be there's another filter, executed afterwards, that marks the mail as junk? You can have a look into the filterlog.html in your TB folder, there you can see if one of your own filters caught this mails.

For only 'Deliver' transaction when one step receiving is done.

Hello,
per clients business process, client performs one step receiving transaction manually.
So this act produces 'Receive' entry in rcv_transactions table. So technically now we want to perform only 'Deliver' transaction.
So, per Oracle Note 731097.1, I only populated rcv_transactions_interface table and didn't populated rcv_header_transaction table.
Now,
After population of a test record in rcv_transactions_interface I ran 'Receiving transaction processor.'
Every time I run the program, it isn't processing the record[ PROCESSING_STATUS_CODE - ERROR].
When checked in PO_INTERFACE_ERRORS table, following error I'm getting;
"Error: The SOURCE_DOCUMENT_CODE specified is invalid. The value specified (PO) does not match the expected value (INVENTORY)."
Where as actually my SOURCE_DOCUMENT_CODE is PO.

I am also stuck in similar problem. I am extracting information of all recipients by only reading the message file and using
mimeMessage.getAllRecipients() but due to the incorrect format according to the javamail I am getting AddressException . So I need a way to extract all recipients with / without correct format as saved in the actual message file .

Previous to that I never had any problems with Mail; but Safari has been very slow on occasions. I don't know if the 2 pbs are linked.

You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox Profile Folder that store session data.
Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

Only recently, when I try to open a video or an e-mail attachment, a message appears in the frame "Blocked plug-in". TShan, a box appears above that says I must update and install Flash player. I have done this six times and still I get the same message. What am I not doing, or what should I do now to remedy this?

Mail Dock icon only shows when Inbox has new mail, not other folders.

I've got Rules set up for Mail to move new mail to various folders on receipt, depending on the nature of the emails.
However the Mail icon in the Dock only indicates when new messages are in the Inbox, not other new emails which might be in other folders waiting to be read.
Is there some way to fix this so that it notifies me of all new emails?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you running leopard?
Under preferences on my mail (version 3.1.1 i think) then the 'general' tab there is an option "dock unread count" which you can set to inbox/none or all mailboxes.
I don't remember this being an option under Tiger but it may be worth looking for if you're not on Leopard.

Yes, you need to change your settings. Gmail does NOT support Push email (only MobileMe, Yahoo, and MS Exchange servers do). You should to set Push to OFF (unless you also have one of the Push-capable accounts) and set an interval for Fetch (15 min, 30 min, etc., NOT manual). Since Push is not supported by your mail account, Fetch is used, and you have Fetch set to Manual, meaning mail is only checked when you launch the Mail app.

Retrieving POP mail only when I want to ...?

I would like the option to retrieve mail from my pop account (non exchange) email account, but only when I want to. So when I'm at home, or in my office, and have access to my mac, I don't want my iPhone to retrieve the email. And leaving it on the server is not convenient either. In my prior phone, a sidekick, I could turn off and on a toggle for whether I wanted the phone to retrieve email from that account or not. Is there a way to do this? I have mobileme, and could use that if that would help. THANKS!

Aye, "Push" mail only applies to accounts that support it, which is, as of now, MobileMe (protocol unknown, looks like a modified version of "ActiveSync"), Exchange "ActiveSync", YahooMail! (IMAP-IDLE).
All other accounts will either download at the fetch interval specfied in your settings, or if you tell them too, manually.
(You can also tell Push capable acounts to Fetch or Manual download as well if you prefer)
If you have a MobileMe account, have you considering just getting the emails forwards to your @me.com address?

Mail only get delivered every 15 min From Exchange 2013 queue

I have a newly installed Exchange 2013 SP1 on server 2012. I have notice that when I get mail all the mail have the same time Stamp. I use the queue viewer and notice that mail are stuck in the SMTP delivery service. I restart the transport service and
the mail got delivered. this has now become an un going problem. I have to restart the transport service or wait every 15 min to get mail delivered. I am stuck can I get so help.

For the event 6002 error, you can build a new database and check if the new warning event also indicates the new one:

I am currently living in Europe and using my iPhone on airplane mode only with wifi. My iMessage switched to my e-mail account and when I go to the settings to switch back to my phone number that isn't an option to click on. How do I get it back?

I am currently living in Europe and using my iPhone on airplane mode when I have wifi. My iMessage is switched to my icloud e-mail address and when I go to my setting to switch it back to my number, it is grayed out and not an option to click. This was working before with my number so I know that it's not from being on airplane mode. How do I get it back to my number?

They need to go into their settings>messages and make sure iMessage is on. Also they should click on the send & receive button to make sure their phone number is selected.

I have a jpeg signature for a signature in Mail account. When I attach another file to the email and se nd it to a Windows -operated recipient, my signature becomes an attachment as well and only the body of the email message is left.

I have a jpeg I have added for a profeesional look to my signature in my Mail acount. When I attach other files to the message and send the message to a Widows-user recipient, the signature is no no seen as a signature and simply becomes an attachment with the email.
What can I do to stop this happening. Thanks
