E-mu 1616M MICRODOCK.....PHANTOM PROBLEM!

When I connect a condenser microphone NEUMANN KMS 105 and I turn ON the PHANTOM, the level of the input raise and drop casually (reach sometimes the clip!). There is a high noise in the input also when I look the PatchMix Panel: the level is moving up and down when there is no rumors in the room.
The noise is audible in the OUTPUT also!
The problem start only when I connect the condenser microphone. With others dinamic microphones no problems.
NEUMANN work very well with my mixer Soundcraft, so I suppose that the problem is MICRODOCK.
CAN YOU HELP ME?

  • [solved] dolphin file manager losing all custom places entries

    Hi all,
I am getting phantom problem with dolphin file manager, i added custom place entries there but suddenly they diappear from dolphin.
There is no any pattern in disappearance. They appear for few days without any problem, even after shutdown/reboot. But suddenly some day they disappear and i have to add them again.
I want to find cause of this problem then fix it.
Or at least find config file where dolphin store configuration about custom places that i can backup and restore to get back entries.
I checked ~/.kde4/share/config/dolphinrc but couldn't find there anything about custom places.
I am using KDE 4.14.5 and Dolphin 14.11.97

    Hi samtech09,
dolphin stores the configuration of the custom places in ~/.local/share/user-places.xbel.
The problem you described has already been reported upstream: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=343735

    Hi-
I'd test the RAM, as errors from the RAM handling data can corrupt system software on the hard drive.
I'd test the hard drive, for above stated reason, as well as other corruption (non-RAM related errors) can also cause data access problems.
Beyond this, data access will occur via the VRAM of the graphics card, and via the cache of the processor.
Since you have been down the graphics card route, cache malfunction could be a possibility.
Along with Rember, run the system test from the AHT (Apple Hardware Test).
*A couple of notes on the Ballistix memory:*
The voltage rating is 2.8v, whereas the G5 uses a 2.5v rated DIMM.
DDR2 memory is rated at 2.1v, but the dual core G5 is rated at 1.8v.
Dual core G5's support CAS ratings of 4 and 5, but the Ballistix are CAS 3.
Crucial memory selector *does not recommend* Ballistix for any Mac model.
Granted, the RAM may function, but it does not meet spec, and can create phantom problems.
    More notes from MacGuru's forum:
[Norm LeMieux] ...there's potentially another issue with DDR2 that may not have existed before for Macs: high-speed memories. If you look at Crucial's Quad-compatible modules (1GB), you'll see PC2-4200 modules with 4-4-4-10 timing at the top, followed by PC2-5300 modules (which are CL=5 @ 667MHz, but probably 4-4-4-10 @ 533MHz). This is the performance when the modules are powered by the standard voltage of 1.8V.
Ê The high-performance Ballistix modules can do 3-3-3-12 @ 533MHz, but they require a higher voltage: 2.1V. This is fine if you have control over your memory rail, but the Mac does not. And since the SPDs are programmed with "JEDEC-standard PC2-4200 values", the OS is just going to program the memory controller to run the same (4-4-4-10). Thus, there's no point [currently, on the Mac] is buying the high-performance modules which are $160 more per 2GB kit.
Ê Crucial has admitted that, if the system cannot operate at 2.1V, then it will "throttle down" and run at the standard rate. This mirrors what others have been saying elsewhere on the 'Net, but hopefully there's a little more information here.
I've seen many posts of system troubles that were the result of trying to use memory that was "better" than what is spec'd.
The facts of the matter are, that Mac's cannot really benefit from so-called "high-performance" memory due to the control of memory speed by the SPD.
Furthermore, using a product like Ballistix, which is targeted to the PC overclockers crowd, tempts fate with memory that is not of the spec put forth by Apple Developers.

  • How to write program to make document well formed?

    hi All,
I want to make the document well formed if it's not...
Like if any tag is missing in the document that should be added programmatically. And the tags are generalized not hardcoded...
Will u plz give me any idea for that....
    Plz help me.
    Thanks in advance

There are two problems with this, and both are close to show-stoppers.
    1) What you showed is sloppy html. I'm not aware of any HTML parsers like are available for XML. If you use an XML parser, either DOM or SAX, you will stop with the first mismatched element. Once an XML parser recognizes the document is badly-formed, it stops. It might generate millions of phantom problems due to one missing element.
    2) Even if you could find that in your document stub there is a <para> element missing, so what. Where do you programmatically put the opening element? You would need to know a lot about what is allowed where to find the best place for it so it does the least damage to other elements.

  • Video green when mpeg 2 is imported

When I imported the mpeg2 file and aiff sound, put it to a track and linked it to a menu all I got when I simulated the file was a green background with sound. What's the problem

Thank God finally somewhat has the same problem we have been having (OK, I'm not really thankful). The Green Phantom Asset! That is, the asset looks green in the clip window, but plays back as black in simulate. Audio is fine.
For us, the .m2v files will play in Quicktime fine, but not when imported in as an asset.
We believe it only occurs when we use Compressor on a Intel iMac. We can export several very similar sequences (using basically the same media and plug in filters, etc.) and some do fine, others go green on us. I also note that it MAY only occur when we are replacing previously encoded assets, but we need to do more reseach and testing to see if we've had the problem on a first time attempt at encoding and putting it into DVDSP.
Our only workaround is to export from FCP as a QT reference, then import it as an asset. Then, be sure to check your encoding setting (right click on the yellow button) and make sure it matches your other encodings. Then of course, you have a much longer burn, since it DVDSP has to do the heavy lifting.
I hope someone else can figure out the "green phantom" problem.

  • Woh...CH5 KHX3500 at 3.3V & 2-2-2-6....it handles it

It seems after some reading, the CH5 ram chips can pop to another level of latency if the voltage is over 3V.
But, its not quite a full deck....
Even though it passes Memtest86 without errors, after windows loads it will BSOD, but you can do a few things in windows before it BSOD's.
Its like it does work, but theres some phantom problem throwing the whole stability factor into chaos-works.
to use 2-2-2-6 timings, without errors, is impossible at ordinary volts like 2.5 2.6 2.7 2.8 2.9 3.0
But over 3v and not a single error will popup in memtest86.
Anyone tackled the preciseness of what it could be?

Yes, although perhaps a new bios flash (which i havnt done yet) might do something...?
Its supposed to be an overclockers mobo, hence the corecell addition.
Its rather odd that it will get into windows but crash about 30sec - 1min after logging into a profile.
Still, its good ram and it will be good with an A64 upgrade im aiming at later in the year. But i might get a specifically good mobo with exceptional RAM performance/overclocking.

  • P43-C51 reset issue

So having an issue here. I just put my system together.
    P43-C51 board
    E7500 cpu
    G.Skill DDR-3 1600 memory (their eco 1.35v stuff CL7-8-7-24), 2x2gb
    Powercolor 5570 Go-green video card
    Corsair 400w power supply
When it boots up and I go in to the bios the first 1-3 times I do this the computer resets itself. In some cases it powers down completely and then turns back on 2-4 seconds later. After those resets it seems to run stabley. I haven't installed an OS or anything else yet, just getting all the settings in.
Ideas? I am clean out. It seems like a main board issue of some type, but I have no idea.
I've tried raising the memory voltage, no luck. Haven't tried much of anything else.
    No overclock by the way.
    Thanks.
    -Matt

Okay, this could potentially be the dumbest cause I have ever seen.
Bad/misconnected reset SW connector on the MoBo. I just decided to yank it, and it hasn't happened since. Considering that I never actually use the reset button, I just use the power button...
Haven't used it enough to see if this was the cause or not. However every single time I booted it would reset at least once within 2 minutes before being 'stable' (at least for 10 minutes or so, never been in the bios for longer). Now I managed a few boots to the bios of several minutes length with no resets and also got to the windows XP install screens after loading the basic drivers the memory (4-5 minutes time).
Of course then I had to deal with the pain in the rear that is creating an XP SP2 boot disk (okay, before getting to the install screen). Yay for not having Vista of 7 and for base XP not to support PCI-E. Windows 7 and 30/60gb SSD shall be my Christmas present this year.
If anyone does have any ideas still let me know in case this is a phantom problem that starts occuring again. Fingers crossed it is an issue with the case reset switch or missconnected reset SW on the MoBo.
    Thanks.

  • Recording mic on audacity - strange gaps/pauses

Subject says it all. Everything works great using alsa but when I record using the microphone I get strange gaps!?
Not sure which, if any, config files to post. Here my card:
    toad@deskarch 301\6 ~ > lspci|grep Audio
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801JI (ICH10 Family) HD Audio Controller

I had to switch back to oss, myself.  I tried it some odd months ago, also, and switched back to alsa.  But alsa just doesn't work really well, and it keeps crashing applications.  I experienced the same audio gaps using audigy cards, which is just pathetic, and if a graphic intensive app is running and using sound, the application eventually crashes, which is one thing I know I can pin on alsa.
I suspect it causes general system instability to so much as even be loaded.  I experienced this exactly in both Xubuntu, and Arch Linux on pure clean installs without ever entering oss into the equation.  Hello Alsa Devs, problem!
I have seen alot of phantom problems "magically" disappear by ditching alsa.  I hate to say that, because I'd rather use the default sound system, but then, who cares, oss works.  It seems ossxmix comes with oss automatically.  In testing, I found my capture slider to be labeled "AC97" in the "record" section.  And the window had two sections, if you click the min/max button in the upper right it actually changes the view.  You can use audacity for testing to tweak your levels down to minimize mic noise.  I really like how it latches onto applications.  How it works well with Wine if you uncheck "emulate driver", while sound quality is probably equal to what alsa was when alsa used to work at all some odd months ago.
And if oss survives kernel 2.6.30 and 2.6.31 I'll be convinced, because somewhere in there will be some heavy IRQ handling patches if I read correctly.  Not that I know much about that, but I suspect it could amount to something.  Changing how the kernel works with the CPU at the interrupt request level?...hmm...
    good luck!

  • Problem with Phantom Assembly

    Hi expert,
I have question with BOM and production process. In packaging industry, At start we have 8 components for finish goods. but recently, 2 component 0020 and 0030 (example bottle cap and sticker) will issue from warehouse for assembly process before return to warehouse. then re-issue to use for finish goods.
usually component 0020 and 0030 will convert to another component or change to semi-finish goods.i must create this BOM , Routing , and Open Production Order.and change component in finish goods,
if i not create BOM , Routing , and open Production Order. but create new component as semi-finish goods for item from assembly process to use in finish goods BOM as phantom assembly.
how is my resolution, possible or impossible? , will be any problem in the future. any advise is good.
    regards,
    kittisak.

    Hi,
There are 2 possibilities in this case.
If you do not want to make stock of your HALB then make this as Phantom and include the assembly operations (manufacturing operations) in the header level material so that the activities will be captured at the Time of FERT confirmations.
If you want to make a track of the stock for re issue from Warehouse then no other way.
You should maintain it as HALB with BOM nad Routing, Pl. Order and Production Order route to capture the stocks and issue it to FERT production.
    Hope this clarifies..
    Regards,
    Siva

  • Can 119 phantom asslys at one bom level  create problem in product costing

I am going through a scenario where there r 119 phantom assemlies at one bom level. Can this create problem in product costing? It has been told to me by somebody that there can not be more than 99 phantom asslys at one level of bom? Is that true? My problem is that when i am doing product costing it is showing error-" too many dummies at bom level". Is this related to no. of phantom asslys at one bom level?

    HI bala,
all the materials are costing relevent. I thik this problem is releteted with no. of phantom assemlies allowed at one bom level.
I had 119 phantom assemlies at bom level 3 of a varient material. At that time it gives me abap runtime error during product costing.
Now I have removed special procurment key 50 from material master of 20 number of phantom asslys. so now there r now 99 phantom assemlies at bom level 3.
I have taken costing run and its not giving error.
so i reached to conclusion that statndard limit of no. of phantom assemlies at one bom level can not exeed 99.
Now customer requires 119 phantom assleys at this level 3 of bom.
So can u suggest me whether i should contact sap to increase this limit for this perticular case?
will they solve my problem or there is any other solution to this?
    please reply.

  • BAPI_ROUTING_CREATE problems with component  allocation of phantom BOMs

I try to create a routing via the BAPI_ROUTING_CREATE and all works fine until I try to do component allocations for phantom BOM lines in the next level.
In my simple BOM I have the following structure:
    00004465 (ROOT BOM)
    +
    +---Phantom_BOM_B (BOM 00004466)
        +
        +---Material_X
    +---Material_Y
I only can allocation Material Y and BOM_B but I am not able to allocate the material X instead of the BOM_B, in that case I always get the message "The component to be assigned has not been completely specified".
    My COMPONENTALLOCATION Table Code:
    T_COM-SEQUENCE_NO = '000000'.
    T_COM-OPERATION_ID = '0010'.
    T_COM-BOM_TYPE = 'M'.
    T_COM-BOM_NO = '00004466'.
    T_COM-ALTERNATIVE_BOM = '01'.
    T_COM-ITEM_ID = '00000001'.
    T_COM-ITEM_NO = '0010'.
    T_COM-BACKFLUSH = 'X'.
    T_COM-PLANT = '1000'.
    T_COM-MATERIAL = ''.
    T_COM-BOM_TYPE_ROOT = 'M'.
    T_COM-BOM_NO_ROOT = '00004465'.
    T_COM-ALTERNATIVE_BOM_ROOT = '01'.
    *T_COM-PATH = '000001'.
I hope some can help me to find me, a solution to solve my problem.
    Thanks
    Jörg

    Dear ,
Phantom BOM means which you want to plan interm of Operation Hrs and Issue Componenets but not intereted to Physically Store  rather re-ssiue it to Main FG .
Now ,from your requirement it s clear that BOM : 00004465(ROOT BOM) is for your FG (Let Say A) BOM :  00004466 is  a SFG (Let say B) as Root BOM component  , which is In House produced .
Bascically , If you do not want to *Store B( Phantom BOM) *  but want plan the depedent of B ( X, Y , Z  etc )  along with A's dependent and also cost of B ( Phantom BOM )   , then the routing hrs /component along will be issued directly  to  A( Root BOM)  ,
So you do not need to create Routing for Phatom BOM and also no componenet alocation required . Better ,  you can add that routing operation hrs to main routing of the FG .
    Hope this is clear
    regards
    JH

  • BAPI_ROUTING_CREATE problem in component creation for phantom materials

    Hi,
I am using the BAPI "BAPI_ROUTING_CREATE" to create a Routing. It works fine creating the operations, Component allocations, InspectionChar creation and updating the Header data Information.
The Problem i am facing is with the allocation of components with Phantom assembly. Can any one help me in passing the Parameters to the BAPI to allocate the components with the Phantom assembly.
    i am getting error message
"cpccdt-206 The component to be assigned has not been completely specified "
    Thanks
    Pravin

I i'm having exactly the same problem.
"cpccdt-206 The component to be assigned has not been completely specified "
In my case this message occurs with normal material and not Phantom materials.
Do you have any solution already?
    Thanks,

  • Phantom power problem -Samson CL8 and M-Audio unit

I just got a samson CL8 condenser mic and only get buzzing in GB when I plug it into my M-Audio MoblilePre USB interface and turn on the phantom power. I have it connected with an XLR on the mic end which goes into the USB interface with a 1/4 (not sure if that's an issue but I use the same cable with my SM58 with no problems -but of course that one doesn't need phantom power). Anyone know what this could be?

why would that work with an SM58 just fine
because an SM58 doesn't need phantom power (also, "fine" is debatable, you're not getting everything out of that mic that you could be. it should be plugged into a Mic jack, not a line-level jack)

  • Phantom Dock Connector Speaker Problem

The internal speaker on my iPhone 4S will only play music through the internal speaker when it's connected to a dock connector.  The same applies to telephone sounds and live conversations, but not alerts which play any time.
When it's NOT connected, the volume slider at the bottom of the screen disappears and so does the sound.  The phone is acting as though it's connected to a dock connector when its not and vice versa.  Extremely annoying, especially when someone calls you and you can't hear.
I've restarted twice and reset all the settings, and I searched this forum and found a similar problem that occurred earlier this month.  In that case, the phantom dock connector was "connecting" intermittently, and blocking the sound from the speaker.  The user posted a screen shot that is similar to one that appears on my phone.
Here's what it looks like when the phone is NOT connected and an Airplay source is present:
I have thoroughly inspected the dock connector and the headphone jack.  No apparent damage and no dust.  This phone is about 2 months old.

Well, for anyone still having this issue - found a solution that seems to work for most people (worked for me).
    I read it here: http://www.schrijversblok.nl/index.php/2011/08/15/oplossing-voor-ipad-geen-gelui d-dock-connector-probleem/
Basically it says that the problem is indeed caused by a piece of dust/dirt touching a component making the iPhone think there is dock connector plugged in. Cleaning it should be the solution of this. The easy test is setting up an extra audio output by connecting to a bluetooth speaker or something so that you can get the same screen the OP has there on his screenshot (where you actually see the "Dock Connector" option. Then refresh that screen as you blow warm air into the connector. If for a few seconds it reads "iPhone" again instead of "dock connector", you are now 100% certain that dust/dirt is the problem.
For those of you who have no sounds at all, not even a volume bar, it's probably your actual speakers that aren't working. You can probably test this by letting the iPhone play an alarm sound or a ringtone - those come through the speakers even if he thinks there is a dock connector plugged in.
If the warm air trick worked, cleaning it should definitely fix the problem for you. The method that is proposed in the article made me laugh so hard that I just had to try it. Put your vacuum cleaner on it to suck it out! Naturally there is some risk in that, you might accidentally dislodge some other component inside the phone and then you really have a problem. It's probably a good idea to start with the vacuum cleaner not at 100% capacity and then gradually increase it until it's working again. It didn't work straightaway for me, I had to fit the vacuum cleaner onto the iPhone so that you don't lose any sucking power. Use your hands to form a sort of windtunnel between the vacuum cleaner and your iPhone, make sure that no air can escape between the two. Sit like this for a few minutes (this conventiently gives you time to think about how you're going to explain that one if someone walks in on you) and it should fix your problem.
    Hope this helps someone!
