E-Rec Pop up windows in Display - Low visibility Mode.

Dear Friends,
We have a HR portal which delegates information from a E-rec system. Recently we are facing an issue when we open the Dashboard -- Open Requisitions- Change Status Reason . Then you have a pop up displaying the options. Now the issue is the pop box is partially visible and in read only mode. THe OK and cancel buttons seldom work and there are no values visible in dropdown. We are not able to find the reason why its happening. We checked for Portal permissions for that object and also cleared the Portal and backend cache but issue still exists.
Can you help in identifying any other reason for this issue or any other configuration in the backened that i need to check.

I need your help I am working on a application in which in a table when i click on the first column cell i.e. column must be first and the row may be any then the pop up window will display in swing .For exp if I click on the second row and the first column then information about that perticular row will display in the pop up window . Add a MouseListener to the table. Use the rowAtPoint(...) and columnAtPoint(...) to determine which cell was clicked. This display a JDialog with the required information.

Pop up Windows that display outside the field of view.

I frequently connect multiple monitors to my laptop and it seems that some software "remembers" the location where it last displayed a pop up window. For example: The first time I access a function that displays a pop up window it will display
on my main display which I then drag to one of the additional displays I have connected. The next time I access that function it will automatically appear on the additional display that I last dragged it to. The problem is that if I access that function
when I don't have an additional display connected the pop up still behaves as though I do. I'm unable to see or access the pop up which is particularly problematic if the pop up is displaying a question that I must answer to continue. How do I correct this
issue? Are there any hotkeys to remedy this?

Connecting and disconnecting displays while the laptop is on can cause these issues. For best practice, have the laptop powered off when connected to the monitor and then power it up. To disconnect the monitor, power down the machine and disconnect.

Hi Avjit,
You have to create a pop up on ur own as error messages are displayed only on the bottom of the screen. You can try something like this.
        CALL FUNCTION 'POPUP_TO_INFORM'
          EXPORTING
            titel         = 'ERROR'
            txt1          = ' Error message'.

Open a pop up window and display new jsp in it

i want to open a pop up window (from a jsp)when i click a link ,
the opened pop up window is a different jsp where i have to pass an action event to the struts action doing some functionalities and then forward to that jsp.
example:
create.jsp has a link that uses java script to open the pop up.
the pop up should open search.jsp after going to the action.
what needs to be done:
1-open pop up
2-pass action event to the struts action
3-open the new jsp in the pop up
kindly assist me in this issue

Why are my pop up windows not displaying?

I am not referring to advertising pop ups, but, for example when I am looking at Ebay I may click on a photo to get a closer look at an item. The window will open, but the photo does not come up.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

Need help with pop up window!

I'm working on an online graphic design portfolio and one of the pages features online animated Flash banners. The site can be viewed here...

I created a pop up window that displays a swf of the banner by putting this code on the View Banner link of each example of work...

Two problems though. First is in Firefox the location bar with the url to the swf is visible, even though I set location=no as a variable in the code (it works ok in Safari). The window is also resizable in Firefox and Safari even though the variable is set to resizable=no. How can I fix this?
Second problem, even though I painstakingly set the left and top variables by trial and error to get the pop up window to open exactly in the center of the "stage" area of the site, when I post it and view it in a browser, the window pops up lower. When I'm in the fla of the site and I preview it in a browser, it's fine, but for some reason when I post the files online and then open it from http://truetilldeathhq.com/Skiz/main8_v7.html, the pop ups come in lower. Any fixes or advice on this?

Page Zero and Pop-up Windows

Hello:
I am trying to create a pop-up window that doesn't have some/all of the page zero regions. I don't want to create another page just for the pop-up window, I would like to use the same page but with(out) some privileges. I just don't want the user to be able to navigate to other pages (page zero lets you do that) from the pop-up window. Is there a way some/all page zero regions can be not shown when a pop-up window is displayed?

Hi Bino -- I'm not sure how you are bringing up your pop-up window, but you can set conditions on the regions in page 0 just like any other page so, for example, you could have a certain region not appear if the user is not logged on or if an item has a certain value, etc. If you are going to use an item value, when you bring up the pop-up window, you could set the value of that item right in the URL as one option.

So, I’ve constructed a portfolio site with ActionScript 2.0, but I would like the pop-up window that displays the portfolio image to have its own ‘X’ button that closes the swf movie from the browser. I’m assuming that the code begins something like this:

My main flash as2 file has a stage size of 1200 width x720 height. I’ve looked online through various methods on creating pop-up browsers that will display a portfolio image when a button on the main.swf is clicked. Having no luck in finding what I needed (most tutorials just give getURL examples where the image is displayed in a separate tab), it finally dawned on me to create an overlaying movie, of the same size as the document size, on the top layer of the primary flash stage. Setting the movie symbol as ‘invisible’ keeps the movie symbol inactive and invisible until called by an action. The button on the main.swf that calls the movie has the following as2 script attached to it:

However, the aauComp.swf file is where the exit button is located. I need to implement an on(release){} method onto the exit button in aauComp.swf that will close the movie out in the main.swf file. Here’s the double wammy, though: the exit button on the called movie file, aauComp.swf, does not recognize any gotoAndStop(); or on(release){} functions relating to itself when it is loaded. For instance, since I could not find any functions that would close the movie out and return me to the main.swf interface, I wrote the following command on the ‘exit’ button in aauComp.swf:

Where “blank_frame” is within a scene of aauComp.swf that is completely empty – which should, in theory, allow for interaction with the main.swf below the loaded movie since there is nothing on that layer of the loaded aauComp.swf movie. Make sense? The ‘exit’ button works fine when aauComp.swf is tested and published by itself, but when it is called into the main.swf with the loadMovie(); function, the 'exit' button will not work and, so, it will not forward to the “blank_frame”.

Problem in pop-up windows

Hi All,
I have few pop up windows in my VC application. I was using FLEX 1.x compiler before and pop-up windows were displayed properly. But due to that 32K limit I had to upgrade my FLEX complier to FLEX2. Now, I am able to deploy and execute the application but the pop-up is not displayed properly. Specifically the buttons are not being displayed on the pop-up window. I have tried in IE6.0, IE7.0, Firefox 3 and Google Chrome browser but faced the same problem everywhere.
If somebody has come across this before and knows how to resolve this then your help is highly appreicated.

if the application is working fine with Flex1.5 and not orking with Flex2 means definilty its a Bug.
But all these bugs are fixed in latest SPs

Customize /change pop-up window

Hi,
In my query for variable input by the user, i would like the pop-up window to display message as per required parameter.
say for example, there are five different foreign currency and user wants to put exchagne rate on report running date.
the pop-up window should display " Input USD Rate" or "Input EUR Rate" etc..
It just mentiones the name of the coulmn head which is general to all different currencies. The user will not know which box is for which currency.

I told u the way u can create the popup for the any item through object navigator. Please refer online help for details. There is clearcut picture in online help about the topic u asked. I think u are a developer, instead of asking sample, please refer Formbuilder reference guide which available in otn.documentation, which help u a lot and u can solve the problem on your own
