E-Recruiting - Activation of Business Function

Hi all,
i'm facing a problem on our E-Recruiting Development System. I've activated Business Function HCM_ERC_SES_1 and try to work off SAP Note 1098046. Unfortunately there are no BC-Sets with prefix HRERC* visible in transaction SCPR20, so i don't know how to activate them.
How can i get these BC Sets into our system. Is there a download site for .bcs Files or something like that?
Regards
Mark André

Hi Mark
You need to compare the table entries acc to the note from client 000 to prod client.
Please review the note :
E-recruiting-specific Customizing
Most tables for the search are tables of type "C" (= Customizing tables;
maintenance by customers only; no SAP import). In other words, after you
unpack the BC sets, you have to reconcile the relevant tables in client
000 (which contains the delivery Customizing) and the tables in the
productive client. Below, you will find an overview over the relevant BC
sets:
Hope this helps.

  • Activation o business function

    Hi guys,
Can you let me know how to activate the ollowing business function in SRM 7.0
Presently to go ahead with the configuration i noticed that these two are not activated.
SAP SRM Procurement for Public Sector Basis (/SAPSSRM/SRM_CROSS_INDUSTRIES)
SAP SRM Procurement for Public Sector Functions (/SAPSSRM/SRM_PPS)

    Hi,
But it should be done in 000 client. We faced some problems activating the ISU switch in EHP4. We activated this in our working client few functionalites were not active. So SAP has suggested to perfrom this in 000 client.
May be this adds some infor for your query.

  • How to create transport request for business function activation?

    Hi Gurús,
I activated LOG_MM_MAA_1 business function in development (DEV) system:
    Component: SAP_APPL
    Release: 604
    Level: 0006
    SP: SAPKH60406
I want to transport the activation to quality (QAS) system.
In SFW5 transaction --> System Settings --> Transport only generated a workbench transport request with "Status Tables Switch Framework Client-Independent" (Object type = SF02, Object = A)
Is this the only object to transport?
Is the activation of business function should be direct in QAS system?
    Thank in advance
    Alonso Valenzuela

    > In SFW5 transaction --> System Settings --> Transport only generated a workbench transport request with "Status Tables Switch Framework Client-Independent" (Object type = SF02, Object = A)
    > Is this the only object to transport?
    Yes.
The "after import" method during the transport will activate the BF as it did in the original system.
    > Is the activation of business function should be direct in QAS system?
    No, transport it.

  • EHP4 Talent Management business function CA_HAP_CI_1

    Hi
    We have applied EHP4 and have ECC6 Basis 701 SP6 and HR 604 SP24 and Netweaver EP7.
Has anyone experience of acitivating business function CA_HAP_CI_1.
I have researched this functionality and know of SAP notes 1239427 and 1239426.
It would be most useful if someone could advise on what steps they have taken when activating this business function and what other configuration steps have been done.
I know to activate it is done in the IMG under Activate Business Functions.
    Many thanks
    Julie

    Hi,
This can be activated in SWF5 .Ask basis consultants to activate it.
    Cheers

  • Talent Management Enhancement pack 4  Business Function HCM_TCM_CI-1

This business function contains some new job architecture functionality that we would like to utilize.  These new object types are functional name (FN) and job family (JF).  We do not plan to configure any of the talent management functionality because we will not be using it at this time.  Activating this business function also activates a functionality called Embedded Search which requires TREX 7.1.  We do not plan to do any of the configuration for the embedded search functionality either at this time as we don't think we will need it.
My question is, is anyone aware of any issues that might arise  or what other SAP functionality that might be impacted by moving this business function into our Production environment without doing any of the configuration.  We have implemented SAP Payroll, Benefits, Org management, Personnel Administration, eRecruiting and Learning.
Thanks in advance for any advise you can provide.

    Hi Kathy:
In a nutshell, you shouldn't run into any issue.  You're just going to get a host of new web dynpro apps, OM data, and infotypes for the Central Person (the 74XX infotypes).  If you don't use them, then that's fine, it won't hurt anything.
You should be just fine using the HRP1001 450 relationships from JF to FN and C to help drive your job architecture.  You would potentially need to use transaction HRTMC_PPOM to manage your job family/functional area relationships, but you won't negatively impact anything you have already implemented.
If you're not going to use any of the Talent Mgmt functionality, you also don't need to worry about enterprise search or TREX.  I'm assuming you aren't using Succession Planning in eRecruiting, right?  If you do ever consider using the Talent Management functionality you've now implemented, you will have to migrate data over from the old eRecruiting version of Succession Planning.  Other than that, you should be good to go.
    Hope that helps!
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • To Activate Business Function FI

    Dear Experts,
We are implementing BI. We are in need of activating below business functions for Vender, Asset reports etc. in BI
    FIN_REP_SIMPL_1
    FIN_REP_SIMPL_2
    FIN_REP_SIMPL_3
Can you kindly guide us the dependent FI business functions related to above each BF. I have found certain info. regarding the dependent BF. which are not activated so far. Those are mentioned below. (Further We are on EHP 5 & activated New GL).
    FIN_GL_CI_1
    FIN_GL_CI_2
    FIN_GL_CI_3
and if you got any idea about the risk involved, appreciate your advise as well
    Best Regards,
    Thuwan

    Hi Thuwan,
In transaction SFW5 (where you activate Business Functions) there is column "Dependencies".
from what I can see in your case the only dependecy is: FIN_REP_SIMPL_2 must be activated if you want to activate FIN_REP_SIMPL_3.
I don't think there is much risk in activating those business functions. They just give you additional FI reports in BI.

    Szymon

  • Transporting a business function: lock out users and suspend batch?

    Hi gurus,
SAP advises in help.sap.com to lock out all users and suspend batch jobs before activating a business function in development.  I did that in development, activated the business function, and saved it to a transport.  Does the same recommendation to lock out users and suspend batch jobs hold true in the QA and Production systems when the transport is moved in? ... or is it ok to transport it during a time when there is user and batch activity going on?
    Warm Regards,
    CM

You do have to lock out users and suspend batch, even using a transport.  There is a pdf called
SAP Enhancement Packages Selecting and Activating Business Functions,  In it, it says to lock out users and stop batch activity in all systems,

  • Business function Activation

    Hi All,
Wanted to understand what would be the impact activating business function "FIN_TRAVEL_2" for Travel management.
Presently we are on FIN_TRAVEL_1 and EHP6. Wanted to have both Travel request and Travel expense report output view though PR05.
As FIN_TRAVEL_2 has this extended feature, wanted to activate that before which thought of taking the experts view on the impact it can have on the existing system.
As new fields get activated on TRIP, Travel Request and Travel expense report, will this have issue for the ones created before the activation.
    Regards...

Wanted to know, if we activate "the FIN_TRAVEL_2" business function now, will that impact anything on the current Travel Requests or Expense sheet in any ways for processing. Also there is portal in place through which Travel requests are created too.
The answer to that and to the activation of any business function in general is always YES. There's loads of coding in hundreds of subparts of the frame program that polls the Switchframework whether certain switches are switched on. I'm pretty sure there's nobody (including myself) who can line out every change in programmable process that takes place due to the activation.
You say you are using a portal, I assume you are using the WebDynpro JAVA Services here? Or are you using transaction iviews with TA TRIP?
What is stated in the help simply means that trips that are created in TA TRIP and WDA are not interchangeably processable. This does not mean that you cannot use the TA TRIP anymore once the business function is activated, but in case in your current business process you are furhter processing requests that are at the moment created in WebDynpro JAVA, that is not going to work likewise with WDA. (I hope this answers your question).
Hence, just wanted to know if i activate this which cant be irreversable, will that have adverse impact on the existing TR or Travel expense reports or any other functionality.
Careful. The activation of FIN_TRAVEL_2 IS irreversable, this means it is NOT reversable. The only unofficial way to deactivate such a business function is to roll back the Database.
I have a question: What exactly are you using the Transaction TRIP for anyway? From EHP2 onwards it's practically obsolete, so you could shift your processes completely to the WDA services and TA PR05.
    Cheers, Lukas

  • Which Business Functions should be activated for China? (We have EHP6)

    Hi Gurus,
We are in the process of planning SAP Rollout SD/FI/CO to China.
Which Business Functions are typical to be activated for using SAP in China?
(We have SAP ERP with EHP6)
    Thanks+Regards

    Hi Mark,
Looking inside transation SFW5  (inside Enterprise Business Functions folder), my target FSCM components about FSCM are these in yellow:
Now, I see FIN_FSCM_CCD_INTEGRATION_3 has a dependency with   FIN_FSCM_CCD_INTEGRATION. That means, just as you say, that I have to switch it on before number 3.
However, I need to raise these two questions:
    1. There is no FIN_FSCM_CCD_3 at all inside SWF5, just INTEGRATION, is this important or not?
    2. Do I have to switch on FIN_FSCM_INTEGRATION (before FIN_FSCM_CCD_INTEGRATION and FIN_FSCM_CCD_INTEGRATION_3).
I know it is a matter of Basic work, however I need to tell them which component to activate in order to have the latest functionality. And to be honest, I am not sure, mainly because I cannot find the FIN_FSCM_CCD nor FIN_FSCM_CCD_3 component in this installation, only ***INTEGRATION*** components. This is tricky.
Please, be as accurate as you can in your respond.
    Thank you so much.
    Wilson.

  • Estimating Activation Time of Business Functions in EhP3

Can anyone estimate how long the activation of c.100 Business Functions plus one industry business function set (ECC-DIMP) ought to take when the transport is imported into a new system? This is in ERP 6 with EhP3.
I know some BFs will activate faster than others, but on average? In our QA system this has taken c.12 hours.
Based on Thomas Weiss' weblog series (great stuff there) I understand that (1) all the activated code is compiling for the first time, and (2) all the DDIC table appends are taking place.
So I wonder also if the size of the tables (# records) affect the run-time of the background job SFW_ACTIVATE_SF0X.
P.S. We are on Basis 70018, and may need to investigate SAP Note 1278120 (available in 70019) to get improved logging. I've also seen the answer by Ralf regarding SAP Note 1276225 to fix a bug in 70018 that reactivates business functions (this was in [Terry's thread|SFW5 repeating already activated BF] ) .

You may be try the R3trans parallel option from note
Note 1127194 - R3trans import with parallel processes
I have no in-depth knowledge on how the switch framework does transport but what I can say is that using this options certain phases of the import are running in parallel as opposed to sequentially when only one R3trans is used.
Note: This is not the same as the parallel option in SPAM/SAINT. This options does in-transport parallelization (one transport is imported with several R3trans where possible).
Just a guess, I have not tested that for SFW5.

  • Procedure Business Function Activation - How To

    Hi all,
i have a customer that just upgraded it's systems to ehp4, our newest available release. He is now asking on a general best practice procedure how business functions should be activated in which client and what needs to be transported or not.
He has a system with a reference client (000) and a customizing client (200). My guess would be:
    - Activate all required business functions in client 000.
    - Make sure, all BC-Sets have been extracted and activated perfectly.
    - Activate all missed BC-Sets manually in client 000.
    - Transport all changes to client 200.
    - Make sure the transport was performed successfully.
    - Activate all required business functions in 200.
Is that the correct approach? I guess BC-Sets containing C-Tables can only be activated in a reference client!?
    Thanks. Kay.

Sunny - Thanks for the reply and I appreciate the help.  You indicated that if transports do not have objects related to the business function, they may not be affected.  That's the crux of my question.  I certainly understand if SAP requires matching BF activation for any transports that change config in that area, but want to be sure an upgrade of one piece of functionality is not impacting ALL transports to related systems.
Our main driver for the EHP project is updating functions in FSCM (Dispute Management, Collections, etc).  These are the only BFs we're intending to activate at this time.  I'll lay out an example of my question:
EHP4 installed in all systems (Dev/QA/Prod).  Active Business Functions from EHP4 are only related to FSCM and they are only active in Dev system for unit testing.  Now say an issue arises in Prod related to Fixed Assets that requires a config change.  The normal method would be config in Dev, followed by unit testing.  Transport to QA for integration testing.  Finally transport to Prod.
Would this transport go through b/c the config has nothing to do with the new business functions activated or would the transport not move to QA b/c the same BFs were not active in QA that were in Dev?
Hope this helps clarify.  It seems SAP would never "back you in a corner" like that and the transport should go through, but I've seen stranger things happen!
    Thanks again!

  • Business functions to be activated after EHP4 upgrade

    Hi All,
I have recently upgraded ECC 6.0 to EHP4.The following technical usages were selected during download.

Out of the above FICAX_BILL_INVOICING,FICAX_CI_2,FIN_FSCM_CCD_INTEGRATION,FIN_TRM_INS_HM and FIN_TRM_LR_FI_AN_2 have dependencies like X_CONT or BI_CONT which are not installed on the system.
    I guess I can't activate these business functions.Am I right?
And I read that only one BF set is activated per one system.I did not find any BF set related to Finance in the drop down list of SFW5 in the system. Please enlighten me on this topic.

    > Thanks for your reply,as I mentioned the list of BFs are applicable for the 3 technical usages I  had selected during EHP4 upgrade.I need to select out of them.
I understand your question - however, how should anyone else but you know whether you need the functionality behind them? This is a business decision.
I suggest you use the documentation (press on the corresponding "i" in SFW5) to see if the business requires the functionality. If yes, enable it, if not, you don't need to enable it.
Some of those BFs will need a BW/BI to work. You have to decide, whether you need them or not.

  • Activating Business Functions:

    Dear All,
Is it possible to activate Business Functions other than 000 client using T'code sbw5. If so..., what will be the causes after changes made.

    Hi,
Yes, you can activate business function other than client 000. You have to make sure before activating business function because once activated, you cannot revert back changes.  Once a particular business function is activated, you will get all functions related to that business function.
    Thanks
