E-recruiting - doublecheck email in 'enter external application'

Hi,
when entering an external application, we sometimes use the same emailaddress because these candidates comes in via an agency and we do not have their emailaddress. But we receive an error that the emailaddress is already used.
Can someone tell me how we can disable the check on the emailaddress?
kinde regerds,
Thanks,
Ruth

Hello Ruth,
could you give me some more detail on your question? Which e-mail address do you enter if you do not have the candidates email address? Is it a dummy address just to fill the field or are you entering a service address of the agency so the communication with the candidate is sent to the agency which forwards it to the candidte?
If you are a entering a dummy address to fill the field I'd suggest to just not fill the field. If it is empfty you can't send an e-mail which should be no issue as you simply do not have the correct address. If you plan to send to the agency I'd probably hae some minor modificytion in the receiver address handling to include some unique string which is cut when sending.
In every case you should avoid to remove the check for a unique e-mail address as Nicole already said.
Best regards

  • E-Recruiting Questionnaires integrated in Entry of External Applications

    Hi,
is it possible to integrate Questionnaires in the function "Entry of External Applications"? I need the recruiter to be able to complete questionnaires for the candidate within entering external applications.
If I try to integrate Element 0012 "Application Wizard: Questionnaire" using container sequences I get an internal error. Is it necessary to create a custom BSP page for this purpose?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks and regards

    Hello Gabriel,
integrating the questionaire function into the candidate profile maitenance you can enter from the Manual/Minimum data entry for external applications handed in by hardcover or email is not possible. Reason for that is the different object relation of the application wizard and the candidate profile container sequence items which is leading to the error you encountered when you tried to mix the containersequences.
Usually when implementing e-Recruiting and you decide to use the manual data entry function at all you use a different szenario. The system is designed that after entering the data you can switch to the candidate selection and add the application wizard questionare through creating an activity. If the candidate gave you an email address you easily send him the questionaire so he can fill it. If you have no email address you can send a letter with a printout of the questionaire which is entered by a recruiter/datatypist when returned or you just call the candidate an fill in his answers.
Í admit that this is a bit more time consuming than having the recruiter enter the information directly but as I have seen in most cases the recruiter does not get all of the information needed from the cv and stuff the applicant send in.
In an approach to give a full answer to your question I think you should also know that there is another organizational solution to this problem which is mostly on the process design side of the e-Recruiting implementation. Many companies just bypass this MDE questionaire topic by a strict restriction of hardcover applications. Often companies do not accept and enter these applications into the e-Recruiting system at all. They just print a letter from Word saying the applicant he shall use the online way. The Manual Data Entry is only for real Talents/Star-Applicants they need so urgently that they really cannot effort to loose them by forcing them to enter their data online. But if someone is so good, so special noone cares about the questionaire - just invite him to the interview and ask him.
To be honest I recommened this solution as it is the most efficiant way to deal with hardcover applicastions.
    Best Rgds.

  • E-Recruiting: change reference code entered by error

    Hi,
how can I change the reference code entered by error (with function "enter external application") in an application?
There is the Workflow 51800042 (ERCAdjEntry) but I don't know how to trigger it...
Thanks in advance for any help and kind regards
    Gabriel

    Hi Gabriel,
I have never seen this workflow running in any system and i think there is noone who can tell what it is for.
In general there is no function in the application which allows to change the relations of candidacy and application to requisition / posting / publication. Of course you could change on database but you would have to rewrite all related records in IT5132, 5135-5145, IT1001. There is high risk to mess things up and of course no recruiter can do this by hand.
Possible solutions would be reassigning the candidate to another requisition by and reject the original used one. Only problem would be that the candidate can see the wrong assignment in the application list in his start page.
Other way would be the administrator function to delete / deregister the candidate to get completely rid of the wrong entry and enter the candidate again using the correct reference code.

  • Enter Internal Application - No Switch Occurring

I have created my own configuration for the ERC_A_APPL_MGMT_OIF component and while the Enter External Application appears to be working fine and reading my flexibilization. When I use the same configuration for the Enter Internal Application, it is not recognizing the parameter IS_INTERNAL=X evidently because the screen doesn't have the updated upper section where you enter the personnel number for the applicant.  Any help would be appreciated.

this is just a warning message and if you dont want the system to issue it, navigate to your app in SICF and doubleclick->choose the error pages tab and you should see that the system logon radio button is selected-> click the configuration button next to it and choose do not display warnings. you can also manage the protocol switching there.

  • Integration of external applications with E- Recruitment Business Package

    Hello All,
We are planning for an implementation on E-Recruitment Business Package on EP.
We need to know whether it is possible in addition to E- Recruitment features provided we would be able to Integrate custom created/ external applications like ID Card creation of employee etc.
Do let us know about the feasibility of this scenario.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Shailesh.

    Hello  Shailesh
You are refering to which external applications  ? are they from ECC  or third party?
If you develope custom applicatios in webdynpro/bsp  in back end you can easily integrate it in EREC business package on portal.

  • Unable to Relay (5.7.1) email from external application with SonicWall ES3300

Strange, are these ports just forwarded from the firewall in a simple way or is there email filtering enabled?
i'd go back to basic ports forwards and see if that works, then you know the advanced features are the problem.

We're currently experiencing an email relayproblem between our Exchange 2007 mail server and a newly integrated SonicWall ES3300. We also have a SonicWall TZ500 firewall with NAT policies configured as per the documentation (https://support.software.dell.com/kb/sw7209), to allow inbound/out mail to flow directly to the ES3300.The problem we're experiencing is as follows:We recently installed a SonicWall TZ500 firewall and ES3300 Email Security device.Ever since then, when attempting to send an email to a recipient outside of our domainfrom an external application using our exchange 2007 as the smtp server, we get an error "The server response was: 5.7.1 Unable to relay". • Is there a way to programmatically press enter or yes to close a dialog box in an external application?

I am using Labview 8.0 and the Run Application and Close Application
VIs in the Winevent.llb.  This works fine except that when certain
external applications close they pop up a dialog box asking the user to
click "Yes", "Cancel" or  "OK".  How can I make Labview click
the "Yes" button in this case.  VB has a send keys command, but I
never really got that to work for this type of case.  Thanks.

Unfortunately my application was not Excel.  I did however solve the problem:
I Used the Show Window.vi from WINUTIL.llb to get focus on the
Application Window, then used the Delay function in LV 8.0 to wait 0.1
sec, then used the simulate_keyboard.vi to send a return. I lost the
link to it, but this is the improved? version
    (http://forums.ni.com/attachments/ni/270/837/1/simulate_keyboard_modified.vi).
Although the dialog box briefly appears and beeps it works good enough
    for now.

  • Single Sign-on and external applications

    Hi,
Someone might be able to point me in the right direction about this.
I have registered each of my applications as external applications within Oracle Portal in order to avail of single sign-on.
This is fine to a point, but registering applications in this way still requires the user to enter a username and password once in order to login to the application the first time they use it, even though they have already logged into the Portal. As long as the user doesn't log out of the application they can close their browser and when they come back to the application they are still logged in.
None of the applications I use are oracle partner applications.
My problem is that I want to avoid the user having to log in to the application the first time they use it.
Ideally they should login to Portal once and then any subsequent applications they access, they are automatically logged into them without having to enter a username and password.
Is there a way to do this or will I have to write a custom login for each application to circumnavigate this first time using the application login issue ?
Are there any docs that someone could point me at.
    Many thanks,

Maria, I was experimenting with this last night, to answer your question, and I think a cool way of doing this would be the following:
Create a custom attribute called "App ID" - make this a NUMBER type. This is where the external application id will be stored.
Create a custom item type: "External Application"
You have two options for the base type: either "URL" or "<None>". If you pick URL, then you can have the item contain the URL for fapp_process_login, but this is not advisable because it will require the administrator to type in this long URL every time a new application is added.
If you select base type URL, you should use that URL to let the administrator provide a URL to the application's homepage, or a help page or something of that sort.
Edit the newly created item to set the Attribute and Procedure properties.
Add the "App ID" attribute - no default.
On the Procedure tab, add the following procedures (called as HTTP), each with the App ID passed as "p_app_id":
    Login http://server.domain.com/pls/portal30_sso/portal30_sso.wwsso_app_admin.fapp_process_login
    Edit http://server.domain.com/pls/portal30_sso/portal30_sso.wwsso_app_admin.edit_fappuser
    That's it!
Add the new custom item type to a folder, and all the administrator needs to do is set the title, and App ID for the new item.
    Excercise for the Reader
You will notice that clicking on the Edit link will take you to the login server when you are done editing the credentials. To avoid this, pass another parameter to the edit procedure - p_done_url, and set a value for that to point to the page that you want to go to after editing credentials.

    Hi,
I created a web application and right click on the project --> new --> General --> ExternalApplications --> ExternalApplication.
In the ExternalApplication registration I declared application name then in step2 I entered LoginURL as http://mail.zoho.com/biz/index.do, Username as LOGIN-ID and Password as PASSWORD. Then i clicked on next --> next --> Finish.
After that i created one jsf page and drag and drop that external application into jsf.
Then run that jsf file, While running the error message is getting in browser.

  • How do you harness URL external application in a JSP?

I have successfully deployed the Yahoo Finance sample URL External Application. However, I do not understand how to utilize the URL classes (in the pdkjava.jar) to harness the external application information once a user has authenticated. I am building a JSP portlet that displays and applet, however the applet requires a username and password. I need to get the Username and Password from external application, which it gets from the user via External Application. How do I get these values in my JSP (that is defined in my provider.xml)? I keep seeing documentation regarding the ExternalPrincipal object however I don't understand how to utilize this object in my JSP. I beleive the ExternalPrincipal object is what I need in my JSP, seeing that it has the methods for getting the user and password. Unless is there a better way of achieving this, can anyone shed some light on getting the ExternalPrincipal object for an External Application session?
    Thanks,

Thanks for the example. I have a better understanding now, however I'm still having trying to comprehend the flow of executing in this portal model.

    ProviderUser prUser = pr.getUser();
    ProviderSession pSession = prUser.getSession(true);
I get a NullPointerException on the second line when trying to getUser(). I'm not sure where the problem could be. In the provider.xml, my ExternalProviderInstance, or the JSP itself? I have another JSP portlet on the same page that calls the same method with success.

  • External Application authentication issue

I am trying to add one of our in-house java application which has in-built user authentication logic in Portal.
I am adding it as an 'External Application' thru SSO Administration (using Add external application). We already know the external application login information for each user and we want to by pass this user task. (Specially because the user itself doesn't know its username/password for the external appli). In fact we are trying to integrate IStore product to Portal by using this mechanism.

IMHO, there is no J2EE server on localhost and/or you are routing your localhost-request over a proxy server in which case the proxy-server can of course not resolve localhost.
just enter the FQDN(fully qualify domain name) of a server actually running a J2EE server instance as well as your required application (web server navigator).
