E-Recruiting : Regarding Internal applications & offer letters

Dear Experts,
I have a few clarifications & some client requirements that i need help on. Pls provide your inputs regarding the same :
1) What is the purpose of internal candidates applying for jobs? Can they be selected for a position even though they already hold a position in the company? Is the data transferred from eRecruiting to ECC in such a case like new hires? I would liek to know what is the end result of an internal application?
2) Can an external applicant change his application details once he has submitted his application in the application wizard? If so, how can he do it. I coule not open the application wizard once the application is submitted.
3) Can the search for candidates be somehow restricted that already hired applicants are not displayed in the list? Can it be restricted based on some custom criteris like blacklisting of candidates etc?How can we ensure that TREX does not display the relevant NA objects? Locking & Releasing of profiles will not suit as the candidates also themselves can change this
4)Client would like to keep a track of the offer letters sent to a candidate & serialise this. For Eg: They would want to track the number of offers sent to the candidate & should be able to come back to a particular offer letter & reprint it again. The multiple versions of offer letters would into picture if the hiring date is changed etc.
5) Is it possible to print multiple copies of the offer letter at one time?
Your inputs & ideas on any of the above points will be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
some more details to the questions you asked:
Question 1:
There are different strategies and processes how employees develop within a company but for most of them the development includes an organizational change at a certain point as you can hardly reshape the position character all the time arount the expectations and abilities of an employee. One of these strategies is succession planning combined with personal development. The hr organization and the management define a development plan for and with an employee train him to use his full potential than just let him rot where he was once hired. This is in the interest of the company and the employee. But succession planning is a business which requires a lot of effort and so it is usually only done with a certain level / group of employees.
Another way is to allow the employees to develop by applying for a job if they think it is a chance to improve and build their talents. In many companies there are even regulations that a new position or a position which needs a successor has to be offered to the employees first before hr is allowed to start looking for an external candidate.
So hr publishes a new position like a team lead for a production area and every worker from the area or even from other devisions can apply. The go through the process af candidate evaluation and if one employee fullfills the requrements he moves in the organization. Technically this is usually an organizational change. A special version of this startegy of internal hiring can be found in reshaping companies which go through a complete restructuring. I have done projects where e-recruiting is just used that every employee from the old organization finds his new chair in the organization. In these cases it is much easier to just let people apply for the position they want instead of trying to plan the move of 10k employees.
The data for such an internal hiring is only partly transfered to the ECC system. It already has the employees data so only the new position and the date of change have to be transfered if not the hr admins enter it directly in the ECC.
Question 2:
In the current state of sap e-recruiting which ist E-Recruiting 603 (which means e-recruiting 600 plus EhP3) the candidate can not change the application related data he entered after submitting the application, but he can chang his profile data by logging into his startpage. The application related data which can not be changed include the cover letter and the application source. Everything else belongs to the profile therefore is not apllication dependent and can be changed.
Question 3:
The search for candidates finds candidates which released their profile only as they agreed to be checked on other positions than the ones the originally applied for.
If a candidate is hired he is changed from external to internal and the profile of internal candidates is locked by defauled. Same way for cnadidates you want to exclude from search as long as he does not rerelese the profile. Their profile can be locked by a recruiter creating a status change for it. To track the evaluation of the candidate there are ranking and questionaire activities which can be included in the search.
Question 4:
Changed letters are serealized but the parts which are not in the editable letter section depend on the smartform as do unchanged letters. You will probably not be able to use e-recruiting as records managemet for offer letters. In addition due to the restrictions of the letter change most projects I have been working in only create the first page from e-recruiting while the contract itself is done outside the system.
Question 5:
You can hit the print button several times every thing else requires modification or customer development.

  • E-Recruiting EHP4 WebDynpro link for create internal application and portal

    Hallo there,
we have installed ehp4 with web Dynpro and I am searching the link for creating an *internal* application.
The external Aplication I found in the se80 ERC_C_APPL_MGMT_UI. But this link is only for external applications.
The other Links I try to find is for the portal. I need it in the ESS and the MSS.
I didn't find them in the package PAOC_RCF_UI_SELF_SERVICES.

    Hello,
For creating manual internal and external applications, the WebDynpro application is the same - ERC_A_APPL_MGMT. The component is the same ERC_C_APPL_MGMT_UI as you have said in your e-mail. In this component you can also check the view V_APPL_DATA and see that both fields for internal and external are available. The fields are determined at runtime based on whether you have selected 'Internal' or 'External' link in the portal. In the recruiter portal role, when configuring the pages for internal or external you use Application Parameter IS_INTERNAL. If IS_INTERNAL=X then this parameter will be passed to the component mentioned above and the system will know that it should display internal candidate fields. If  IS_INTERNAL=' ' then system will display for external and this is the default.
You can click package PAOC_RCF_WD_UI > Web Dynpro > Web Dynpro Applicat and right click ERC_A_APPL_MGMT to test. When the page opens, you can add parameter &IS_INTERNAL=X to the URL and you will see it will change to internal application page.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi All,
Can you please let me know where are all the offer letters which are generated are stored in the data base or in the backend? Can we revisit this offer letter and print it at a later point in time.
    Thanks

    Ya you can do it....
A recruiter has a link on his/her start page called correspondence where the correspondence generated in the system are there ....
the recruiter can always resend it and print it......

  • Internal application error  in scheduling a  dis file.

Hi friends , i am finding a problem in scheduling a dis file . discoverer says internal application error. some other files are getting scheduled. the query for this particaular report is long. any suggestions , its urgent.................. discoverer version is 4.1 .

    Hi,
Not really enough informatoin to debug via a forum, you may need a Service Request with Oracle Support. If staying on 4.1 (recommend 10.1.2.0.2), I suggest you are patched to 4.1.48.08
Additionally, ensure the worksheet runs to completion without scheduling... since you mentioned it is long you may need to increase the data cache, etc.
    Regards,

  • I Published a report on the report server but it's not showing in the internal application we use to access reports

    Hi,
I Published a report on the report server but it's not showing in the internal application we use to access reports. The name of the application we use is called MAMA and this application has access to all the reports on the SQL report server. My email is
[email protected] my cell phone number is 201-888-7952.
    Thanks.

    Hi Roger,
Based on my understanding, you publish a report on the report server. When you access reports with internal application, the report doesn’t display, right?
In your scenario, since you mentioned you have published the report to report server, please go to report manager, check if you can see the published report and open the report properly. If the published report is displayed on report manager, it should not
be the issue in Reporting Services. In this scenario, since the MAMA application has established connection with on report server, it may not update items on report server after you publish your report onto report server. So please try to “refresh” in MAMA
or reconnect the report server. If issue persists, I suggest you contact the MAMA application vendor to get some more effective advices.
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

  • Employment Offer Letters generated in SAP

    Good Afternoon!
I'm trying to figure out the BEST way to generate Employment Offer Letters in SAP.
I have been reading online and it seems that there are many ways to accomplish this.
    I've read:
    SO10 - maintain letter format
    SMARTFORMS
PB60 - Generate letters through Applicant activities
PBAT (after S010)- Generate the letters
IT0906 (Additional Data for Correspondence)- Generate Letters
Offering an Applicant a Contract (PA-RC), then Create Employment contract letter
But we aren't currently using the Recruitment piece.
Custom T code- developed module pool with input parameters, radio button for letter selection, smartform for letters, read employee data from HR infotypes and then export to PDF.
Has anyone implemented letters? And if so, what is the best way to do it? Pros/Cons?
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my issue.

    Hi

  • Need to create custom offer letter templates for irec offer letters

    Hi All,
I am trying to create a custom template for irec offer letters. The additional fields I require in the offer letter are configured as DFF on the Irec page. Steps I followed to create a custom template:
1.Created a custom rtf and used tag names as specified in the standard "IRCESOLDD_SD.xml" file for the additonally configured DFF fields.
2.Created a new template definiton and used the standard data definiton "iRecruitment Offer Letter Data" as reference while creating my template definiton.
3.Associated this custom template to the required business group.
But while navigating the irec page I get an error like below:

What success have you had with, say:

    - creating message catalogs manually
    - changing locales within an app (is it possible without restarting the

    - managing user preferences for number, date and currency formats, etc.
    (using Win95 control panel settings?)

The sample application 'InternatBank' provides some pointers, but I'd

  • What does the "unexpected internal application error" mean?

    Hi Everyone,
I just saw this message for the first time tonight. Does anyone know what it really indicates?
"An unexpected internal application error has occurred. Please get in contact with <MyCompanyName> and provide reference# for further investigation."
This message doesn't look familiar to me at all. I don't know where Apex is getting my company name from. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Kim

    Hi Kim,
I assume you are using the Sample Database Application or similar app. This message is displayed by the "Error Handling Function" of the application. Go to "Edit Application Properties" -> "Error Handling" -> "Error Handling Function". The referenced function is a stored function or package in the database which contains the necessary code to handle error in application. It allows you to map errors to a new error text. See http://www.inside-oracle-apex.com/apex-4-1-error-handling-improvements-part-1/ and http://www.inside-oracle-apex.com/apex-4-1-error-handling-improvements-part-2/

  • Enter Internal Application - No Switch Occurring

I have created my own configuration for the ERC_A_APPL_MGMT_OIF component and while the Enter External Application appears to be working fine and reading my flexibilization. When I use the same configuration for the Enter Internal Application, it is not recognizing the parameter IS_INTERNAL=X evidently because the screen doesn't have the updated upper section where you enter the personnel number for the applicant.  Any help would be appreciated.

this is just a warning message and if you dont want the system to issue it, navigate to your app in SICF and doubleclick->choose the error pages tab and you should see that the system logon radio button is selected-> click the configuration button next to it and choose do not display warnings. you can also manage the protocol switching there.
