E-Recruiting Search

Good day
Has anybody implemented e-Recruiting ehp4 using the Enterprise Search instead of TREX?  I have a requirement to use Enterprise Search for e-Recruiting since TREX will not be supported in 2015.  The client does have TREX but would like to use the new searching functionality.  I'd appreciate the inputs and if anybody has the details on how Enterprise Search works in e-Recruiting, please share that as well?

Hi,
to answer your question if it is possible to replace the TREX search by enterprise search in the currently available e-recruiting realeases. No it is not! E-Recruiting only supports TREX with the two variants python extensions for releases lower than EhP3 and SES search for EhP 3 and higher.
I'd say that even SAp can't really tell you what happens in 2015 ;o)

  • E-Recruiting search configuration

    Hi,
    We are using Erec 600 and TREX 7.0. I have configured the python for Erecruitment search no SES.
    My intention is to Search both Objects and Documents.
    I have followed all the steps and I am able to search the documents. But I not able to find candidate if there is no document attached.(with his record)
    First of all I want some clarification like without SES can I search the Objects?
    If yes where should I go and troubleshoot?
    If SES is required for objects search do I need EREC release 603?
    Any suggestions on this....

    HI,
    We have a custom channel XYZ in E-Recruiting where we are positing some requisitions. 
    When i do the unregistered serch i am getting the jobs posted through EXTERNAL channel only
    My Q? here is..
    But I want all the jobs posted through EXTERNAL and XYZ chgannel displayed for Unregistered search
    Is this possible? If YES can anybody help me how to do that.. Thanks..

    There is BAdI HRRCF00_SEARCH_HIDDEN_INFO which you can use to add there as additional hidden information field for example the department ID. Then you can say for the quick search when to show that candidates and in what case others.

    Hello for all!!
    I'm configure the search for E-Recruiting and this work fine, but I have a problem when I try use "Full Text Search / Search for" for example in Search Jobs. If I use a blank text return all result but if I use a criteria?text don't return a result.
    Any one have ideia?

    I see the note and the configuration it's OK.
    My problem is when I use a free text in a "input field" for search, no return a result.
    If I use a "input field" with none text return all result, so the T-Rex work fine the problem is when a use a free text.

  • E-Recruiting search issue

    Hi All,
       We are using webdynpro screens for e-Rec. The internal candidate is not able to see the job posting when we do a search. I tried all combinations possible. The search for external candidate i.e. unregistered candidate search and registered candidate search for job postings is working. The data is present in backend. Trex is working fine beacuse all other searches are working fine. Any help will be appreciated.

    Hi,
    the easiest reason why a publication could be missing in the employee / internal candidate searches for postings would be no internal publication for the position. But i think this is the first thing you checked.
    Next point to check is the posting channel configuration. Be sure that the internal posting channels are really set as internal in the customizing.
    Furthermore you have to keep in mind that the standard publisher classes for internal and external channel 0001, 0002 have a hard coded check on these Ids in them. If you use other channel Ids for any reason, you have to copy the classes and replace this check.
    If you use the standard internal posting channel 0001 check if the table T77RCF_INT_PUB contains the matching entry and the published flag.
    The last point which comes to my mind spontaneously is table T77RCF_SRCH_ATTR. Especially i you try to use the unregistered search for employees, there are some release / patch levels which do not have this table filled properly. If there is no entry for the searches there, they won't show any hit.
    The entries for the search for internal postings are:
    EESearchPosting
    EMPLOYEE2POSTING
    UNREGEMPLOYEE2POSTING

  • E-Recruiting Search functionality for Candidate in Talent Pool

    For search functionality of candidates in the talent pool, does anyone have any idea how the ranking percentage is calculated??  There is no clear documentation out there about what factors are used and how they are weighted.  I am aware that additional ranking that can be defined in the configuration and also questionaire results can influence this ranking as well.
    However, in the absence of this additional ranking in talent management and questionaire results to job postings, are the selection criteria for the search the only items taken into account for calculation for this ranking percentage? 
    What is everyone else's experiences in the fact that search functionality tends to treat the various selection criteria as 'OR' conditions?  The client I am working for is unhappy that candidates who don't match every set of selection criteria are being displayed on the hitlist.  Would like to hear what other client's responses has been to this...

    Had directed this question to SAP and did not get an adequate response to date with regards to how ranking is calculated.
    However, SAP did respond to why search functionality treating the various selection criteria as 'OR' conditions for searching candidates in Talent Pool.  This is due to configuration values in tables T77RCF_SRCH_ATTC and T77RCF_SRCH_ATTR.  The field RANKING must be set to blank value.  SAP delivers this as 'X' - ranking percentage is calculated.  This change now makes the combination of various selection criteria elements as 'AND' conditions, and the ranking percentage is no longer displayed.

    Hi,
    in general and from a technical view it's possible.
    But it depends on the load of the applications, perhaps it's a better approach to separate them e.g. for a productive environment.

  • E-Recruiting 603 HCM_ERC_SES_1

    Hi Sap brains,
    We are implementing ERECRUIT603 with the following business function sets,
    HCM_ERC_SES_1,
    HCM_TM_ANALYTICS_1,
    HCM_ERC_CI_1.
    We have problem with HCM_ERC_SES_1, as we have activated it, we are configuring search functions with SES (Search Engine Service).
    We have even followed the instructions in SAP note 1098046.
    But an error is occuring frequently, when a recruiter searches in TRM in recruiter's home page, SLG1 descriotion is as follows,
    The system accesses Customizing table T77RCF_SPT using parameters Business Object =/. There are no entries in the table for this.
    Either a program error or an error in Customizing exists.
    The Table is having entires for all 5 Search profiles.
    I request you to provide a solution for this. Pls help me.

    we have setup TREX for e recruitment search. i can search through tcode SKPR07*
    successfully. When i run RCF_Periodical_services from sa38 or sm36. i get this error
    The periodic service was not performed due to a conflicting service
    Message no. HRRCF0001218
    Diagnosis
    The periodic service RCF_PERIODICAL_SERVICES was not executed as either the previous
    periodic service was not yet finished or the report for updating the search profile
    (RCF_RECREATE_SEARCH_PROFILES) is still active.

    i can search in frontend.but it not getting updated. I have run manually RCF_RECREATE_SEARCH_PROFILES and trigger Indexing through SKPR07
    i checked other service running simultaneously , but nothing is running . only  RCF_CREATE_SP_FOR_CAND_IN_JOB
    RCF_CREATE_SP_FOR_CDCY_IN_JOB are scheduled
    any thoughts  and also let me know what all jobs  to be scheduled for TREX search in backend.
    it is wrking in dev but in QA iam getting this error.

    Just run the sm37 without specific date range and then check which program is still running. Otherwise If you are not able to find, then put a breakpoint in RCF_PERIODICAL_SERVICES and then run the report from the se38, It will tell you which job is still active in the system. Then you can find out the same. Please make sure if you are in EHP604, Then COM_SE_DISPATCHER should not be set as background job. This is one time activity.

  • EREC: Attachments tab not displayed for recruiters

    Hello,
    When recruiter searches for candidate and goes to profile page, there is no attachments tab, nor the recruiter is able to edit candidate details (like add more attachments).
    Did i miss any config step to make the attachment tabs appear?

    Sorry for the delay in response. My email ids are switched due to OSS id set up. Anyways, coming to the issue.
    Normally there is a tab called attachments, where we can add few types of atatchments. I am missing that tab itself, when i go into second tab, its under job description. I see few attachments. Please see screen shots of candidate profile and the tab. Recruiter normally should have access to edit candidates, in this case, edit button is not showing up either. I have EREC administrator role

  • E-Recruiting 6.0: Search Profile & Search Template

    Hi Experts,
    I am trying to enhance and configure the Search function (which can be triggered in Talent Management or Candidate Selection Search) in  E-Recruiting 6.0
    Can anyone tell me the difference in config/purpose between the config:IMG->SAP E-Recruiting->Recruitment->Talent Warehouse->Candidate->Candidate Search, Search Profile and Search Template?
    I read the online help and it only describe about Search Template and not Search Profile.  I also check the standard system and it only displays what is configured for Search Template and NOT Search Profile.
    Is the Search Profile still in use and what is the purpose if I have already configured the Search Template?

    Hello Bill,
    unfortunately the information that an internal candidate has left (or will leave - in this case the is_inactive flag will be set at the leave date via a periodical service processing table t77rcf_p_stat) can be easily seen on the databese but not in the e-recruiter applications.
    I am not really sure if the employee id should disappear in candidacy table or not (customers see this different according to their attitute to rehiring people) but in general sap did not implement alot of functionalities to differ between internal and external candidates. Ok there is something for correspondence but it is not even possible to have different questionaires in the application wizard for external iand internal applicants.
    In my opinion I'd assume that an employee applying on an internal position and leaving in the process is a 1 of 1000 case, as long as the process does not take eternities so I personally would not invest much effort into it. You cannot handle every special case in a system (or at leat noone pays for it) and from my experience in companies up to perhaps 2k employees, everyone in HR knows who leaves.
    If you really have a strong business need in this issue, e.g. positions are published internally and once someone leaves has imedeately taken of the position you could use the the e-recruiting BAdI which is available in the BAdI implementation delivered by SAP to handle the candidate creation and stuff. You could add functionality into it that it tracks if there is a leave and the candidate has open applications and send the recruiter of the requisition an email. Other solution might be a periodical service or any other background job which checks this and destributes the information so the recruiter can take the necessary actions.

  • E-Recruiting Employee Searches (Assigning an employee to a support group)

    Hello experts,
    I have run into a situation where when attempting to search for an employee to assign to a support team using their first and last name nothing returns.  However if I try to search for them using their personnel number they come up just fine.  NOTE: This is only happening with this employee.
    Any idea why this may be happening?  We are on 6.0 sp10 using BSP.  We also have E-Recruiting seperate from our SAP HR system and are using ALE to transfer data over to E-Recruiting.
    Any help would be appreciated!

    Hello Ryan,
    the search for positions in the requisition maintanence was changed quite a while ago. Even SAP finally agreed that if you start the hiring process for a new position open in 3 months it should be possible to assign it to the requisition even if the position is currently not active. If you are not on a very old support level you should not face this problem anymore.
    The possiblitiy to find the name for the employee id even if the employee is not active should be a side effect from reading the employee information for inactive candidates which are otherwise treated as external candidates. This is useful in the recruiter applications if a recruiter leaves and others keep on working with its former requisitions and activities. As far as I remember the system even shows the employee id for inactive candidates if they reapply as external candidate. Some companies like to see that they are rehiring someone others don't like it as the fear to mix such candidates with real internal ones. So SAP will probably never take position to one of both opinions and just let it as it is for bsp (I yet have not seen if the EhP4 WebDynpro recruiter solutions, so i do not know if they kept the behaviour or not).
    The IS_INACTIVE flag is set if the employee is no longer active so STAT2 is no longer 3. This check is part of the ALE inbound BAdI (or better of the class which is called in the BAdI implementation). It might be possible to change the coding but I have to admit that I cannot ad hoc judge the consequences of such a change. This would need some more analysing.

    We are on EREC standalone model. Initial data transfer between HR to EREC master data using PFAL is done.
    All employees have got NA, CP, US, BP in HRP 1001 in EREC system.
    Change pointers are also activated in HCM system, now current master data changes are also in reflecting in EREC system thro IDOC posting.
    But when recruiter logs into portal and does a candidate search, no internal candidates are appearing ?
    1) What needs to be done for internal candidates to visible during candidate search ?
    2) Also while logged as internal candidate, released requisitions are not visible for internal candidates while they try to search for internal job postings ?
    Kindly provide your inputs.
