E-recruiting Session Timeout BSP application

Hi,
for the BSP applications for E-recruiting Session Timeout occurs as a result I am not able to view any start page.
Regards,
Manish

Hi,
Go to SMICM and Goto-Services
There for http go to change.
And increase the time for keep alive and processing time to 1000 sec in the beginning . Later after all applications are opened atleast once you can reduce it.
Also if the server is restarted it becomes default.

  • How to deal the timeout session in BSP application

    Hello everybody,
inside a BSP application, I want to inform the user that he is near to reach the timeout of its session.
So I wonder how to know the lifetime of the session and how to calculate the time from its connection.
Anyone of you can help me on his topic?
    Thanks in advance.

The trick will be to after each roundtrip set a JavaScript timer tied to a alert statement. The weblog gives you ideas of what values you want to look at.

    Hi Sandheep,
There is no changes to BSP applications like 'Enter External applications' in Recruiter role. The only major change

  • How to configure a session timeout for DynPro applications?

    Hello,
    1. Where can I configure the session timeout of the DynPro applications?
    2. Can I configure a session timeout per application and how do I do that?

    Hello Heidi,
I am not familiar with this property:
    1. Where can I configure it?
    2. Does it apply to every application at the portal?
    3. What if I would like to configure just one application?
By the way, I have noticed that the DynPro application has an expirationTime property. The documentation says this:
Specifies the lifetime in seconds of a Web application on the server before the Web application is terminated by the server. The value of the DefaultExpirationTime parameter of the system configuration is used as the default value.
My question is if someone tried to use this property?

  • Session timeout skillbuilders question

    Application security attributes settings
Session Timeout  Maximum Session Length in Seconds   60
On session timeout direct to this URL   <url>
Maximum Session Idle Time in Seconds   45
On session idle time timeout direct to this URL   <url>
    Session timeout component settings
Name: SkillBuilders Session Timeout (1.0.1) [Plug-in]
    *Session Timeout Action  Alert
*Session Timeout Message  Application will timeout shortly
*Mask Browser Screen on Timeout  No
    *Session Idle Warning  Yes
*Session Idle Title      Idle message Warning ( I cannot see this displayed but when I copied that area this came)
*Session Idle Message    This application session will expire shortly! If you want to continue working please click ok on the alert.
    *Show Warning Seconds Before  40
    *Keep Session Alive           Yes
So the moment I start my application and the login page is displayed i get the idle message displayed on the screen.  So my application should timeout in 1 minute. I should be alerted after 45 seconds.
    Are the settings correct?
      Murali

Please keep in mind that maximum session length and idle time are two different things. The following configuration should satisfy your requirements
    Configure the following application attributes:
"Maximum Session Length in Seconds" =  ??? -- you did not specify how long your session can last, if left blank it will revert to the instance level setting which defaults to 8 hours
"Maximum Session Idle Time in Seconds" = 10800 -- the maximum amount of time the user as to interact with the server again
    Configure plugin settings:
    "Session Timeout Action" = ALERT
    "Session Timeout Message" = <your message>
    "Session Idle Warning" = Yes
    "Session Idle Title" = <your title>
    "Session Idle Message" = <your message>
    "Show Warning Seconds Before" = 900 -- 15 min x 60 seconds
"Keep Session Alive" = Yes -- this will renew the session if the user interacts with the idle warning
Please let me know if you have any questions.
    Good Luck!

  • How to add data to custom dropdown in E-REC BSP Application:HRRCF_REQ_MNT

We have added a custom dropdown field in E-recruitment. The BSP application is: HRRCF_REQ_MNT. Now i need to assign values to that dropdown through HRRCF_REQ_MNT. Any suggestion where that dropdown will be defined because i dont see it in the layout for that particular bsp page. I only see the standard dropdown fields.
    Any suggestion will be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hello,
you can do it much easier than modifiing.
You can add a dropdown by customer include into the e-recruiting infotypes.
If you want to have the dropdown in the basic data, create a customer include in infotype hrp5125.
If you want it below job data then create it in infotype hrp5126.
If you assign values to the domain of your customer field or add a searchhelp into the customer include structure, the drop down will be automatically be filled.

  • Need to warn user of session timeout in BSP app hap_document......

    Hi,
We're using the hap_document app to allow employees to change appraisal documents in ESS and for managers to create them thru MSS....
When employees have their documents open for more than 1 hour, the next time they click on save, it takes them to the session timeout (ICM, version 6040, module icxxthr_mt.c)....
Is there a way to add a timer to the document.htm or body.htm pages in the application to start a timer, reset it each time user clicks on save, and warn him with a popup when we're within 5 minutes to a timeout...
I've read messages on the BSP thread that say...
"Document.htm is split in two frames. One hidden to enable session handling, the second one visible which contains the document.
So the document.htm is not refreshed, the second frame is refreshed. I tried your approach as well and was not able to tie the script to the second frame.
    Regards and Groetjes,
    Maurice"
I've also read Thomas's stateful/stateless timeout parameters article...
Can anyone help me with where I would put the timer javascript code (if not in document.htm or body.htm) and which timeout parameter to check...

  • Sso session timeout per partner application

    Hello,
I was just wondering if it is possible to configure SSO session timeouts per partner application? I'm looking to log out users of a particular application after 15 minutes, but don't want this change to affect any of my other SSO enabled applications. Is this possible?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
I do not think so, you can not specify specail parameter for one application in SSO.
Why because SSO is one component (within your Infra) through which you logon different apps.
Another solution may be it will expensive is that you 'll need to use different infra for this specific application.

  • Sap-syscmd=nocookie and Statefull BSP's - Session timeout

I have a tricky problem - and I'am hoping for your helpfull input... please..
I have developed a Statefull BSP application - and this application should be called from a SAP CRM application - and it should be possible to call and execute this aplication in a new session everytime it's called from CRM (a new controller/model instance per call).
In the CRM application I can define the JavaScript which should be exectued in order to start the external application - and I have used the script window.open('bsp-url) to start my BSP application.
In my first attempt I ran into the problem that all new windows was started in the same new session - with the consequence that all new windows tried to use the same controller and model instance - leading to inconsistent data...
Then I read an SDN article about the parameter sap-syscmd=nocookie. With this url parameter it should be possible to force the BSP to be executed in a new session - and it works.... or... a new session is generated and the BSP generates the correct output after the initial call  (and according to SM04 I have a new session). I was quite happy until I pressed a button in my BSP page triggering an HTMLB-event - which lead to the following error: "400 Session timed out - please login again". So it looks like the 1. part is okay with the new session - but the response generated and sent to the browser cannot frind it's way bay to the right session in SAP... what did I do wrong???

I have already tried with sap-sessioncmd=open - and the first time the call is made from CRM a new sesion is created and the BSP is intialized. But if I go back to the CRM application again (without closing the BSP window) and hits the button again - then a new window is created but no new session meaning that the underlying BSP is referenced in both windows - and producing wrong results (they both refer to the same instance of the BSP). When I use sap-syscmd=nocookie - I get a new window and a new session everytime I hit the button in CRM, but for some reason the page-output generated cannot find it's way back to this session afterwards...

  • Iplanet 4.1 - How to set session timeout for a specific application

    Hi everyone,
I have a Iplanet 4.1 old web instance running on Solaris 8. We are using this web instance to connect to few application instances running on Websphere 3.5. We have upgraded most of our web/app to higher version except this.
One of the websphere applications need more session timeout. (Which I fuguredout not possible to do on Websphere).
How do I achieve this on Iplanet 4.1.
NOTE: I referred to Iplanet 6.x where we can achieve this by updating web-app.xml timeOut value per URI. I do not find web-app.xml under v4.1
    Thanks in advance,

Sorry to say that we can't help here. WS4.1 is obsolete a long time ago.
As you mentioned that you should use WS6.1SPx or WS7.0 for your production and get support.

  • How to use bsp application SYSTEM for session handling.

    Hi All,
We are implementing OCI.We have a few BSP applications that are called by standard ITS application.I need to destroy session at server side when the browser is closed for that..
I copied the pages session_default_frame.htm and session_single_frame.htm from bsp application SYSTEM into my application and made necessary changes.
I need to pass one url 'HOOK_URL' (this is related to OCI) from starting page of application to final page.
Now suppose earlier there were two pages in my application page1.htm and page2.htm , so i was able to pass the HOOK_URL from page1 to page2 but after adding the two pages from SYSTEM application , i can pass the HOOK_URL from session_single_frame.htm  to page1.htm
    Page session_single_frame.htm:
    Page attributes:
    hook_url     TYPE     STRING (AUTO)
    OnRequest:
    navigation->set_parameter( hook_url ).
but cant pass it from page1 to page2...what additional code is required?
    page page1.htm:
    Page attributes:
    hook_url     TYPE     STRING (AUTO)
    onRequest:
    navigation->set_parameter( 'HOOK_URL' ).
the above code was working fine until i added the two new pages to my application.
Hope i was able to explain the issue properly.
    Thanks,
    Anubhav.

    Hi,
Let me describe the steps i have taken oncw again:
1)Copy page session_single_frame and session_default_frame from SYSTEM application and changed the name in
DATA: target_page               TYPE STRING VALUE 'session_test.htm'.
    to
DATA: target_page               TYPE STRING VALUE 'mypage1.htm'
    2)Addes a page attribute HOOK_URL of type string (AUTO) to session_single_frame.htm .
    3)Added the line
    <i n p u t  t y p e="hidden" na m e ="HOOK_URL"  v a l ue = "< % =  hook_url %>">
to page1.htm so that hook_url is passd to page2.htm (page2.htm has a page attribute HOOK_URL of type string and auto).
The hook_url in page2.htm looks like:
    "http://sapupd.mycompanyname.com:8002/sap(cz1TSUQlM2FBTk9OJTNhc2FwdXBkX1NSTV8wMiUzYXJUaHBOdE1VZDdhWkVTa3hYZGtPTXRxY1NBTWo3VlAwN3NWQ2c2REYtQVRU)/bc/gui/sap/its/bbpsc02/?~OkCode=ADDI&~Target=_top&~Caller=CTLG&~sap-syscmd=NOCOOKIE&~client=200&~language=EN&~HTTP_CONTENT_CHARSET=utf-8";
The problem is that after the page is submited , a blank page comes up .
On closing this blank page the "Endig user session" window comes.
    Please help

  • Calling copy of BSP application in e-recruitment

In E-recruitment module, I have a requirement to copy the SAP standard BSP application HRRCF_REQ_MNT to a z BSP application
and add new fields to one of the BSP pages of the ZBSP application.I could not find any customizing table where I can make a
call to my zBSP application. Can someone help me with this please?

    Hello,
to include views of customer bsp application in a container sequence like the requisition maintenance you have to use the standard flexibilization for container sequences.
It can be found in the IMG under the path e-recruiting -> technical settings -> user interface -> (Settings for UI BSP [only 600]) -> Flexibilization.
You first define a context if you have not already done this. Then you go to Container Sequence -> Define Elements for CS and create an element for the screen of the customer bsp you want to include. As the standard customizing is not shown (it's stored in seperate tables) you might want to have a look on T77RCF_CS_ITEM in SE16 to get an idea what to put in the different fields (namespace can be SAP noone seems to know what it's really for).
Then you have to go to -> Modify CS. Add an entry for CS Id 1000 which is the Container Sequence for requisition management. In the assingments you add entries for the context you created before and all customer and standard CS Items you want to use. The elements assigned to this CS Id in standard can be found in table T77RCF_CS_SEQ in SE16.
To access the new configuration you have to call the startpage of the recruiter with the condetext defined (URL Param: rcfContext)

  • Calling BSP application in same session

    Hi,
I am trying to arrange a few BSP pages into some sort of "BSP pool" so I can call them from different applications. Means: I want to create something like a few base objects to re-use in other BSP applications. My BSP applications have to be stateful - so when I embed those pool pages (using iframe or similar technology) I do get a new session and cannot share the model data. :-((
Is there any way of avoiding this session problem? Can I force a call to a new URL (on the same server) to re-use my previous session?
Interface method "IF_BSP_NAVIGATION->goto_page" sports a parameter "session", but this parameter does not what I would have expected when fed with the current session ID.
I could not find any documentation on the session handling in the WAS either. All I learnt is that a new session seems to be created whenever a URL with a different ICF path is called - even on the same server. If this is the case I will definitely have problems pooling BSP pages into a "toolbox" BSP application.
Sharing the model data via server-side cookies could be a way, but fails for object references (like class instances or data references).
Any experience with writing the model data (and references!) into ABAP memory to be re-used in the same GUI session (e.g. CIC)? That might be a workaround (?).
    Any hint greatly appreciated.
    TIA
    Peter

I can tell you what I have used in the pass to acomplish this: BSP Extension Elements or Reusable Controller classes.
BSP Extensions are really designed for just this kind of reusability.  You have static interface into and out of the extensions.  All the rendering is encosed in the extension, yet will be befored in-line in the rendering of the main page.  You don't have to worry about separate sessions, or the overhead of iFrames.
Another very similar approach is to create reusable controller classes.  Rendering logic can actually be placed in the controller as well (instead of calling a view). Brian McKellar has an SDN Weblog on how to use a controller class to build a pattern engine.
If you are really trying to create a reusable toolbox - then I highly suggest the Extension approach.  However I have done the sharing of model data between two applications.  I have an example here:
    /people/thomas.jung3/blog/2005/05/27/custom-bsp-extension-element-for-field-level-help
Basically I serialize the model class and write it into a server cookie.  Then I pass a unquie ID for that model instance to the second application.  It can then retrieve and deserialize the model.

  • Session Management in BSP applications

    Hello,
I habe been developing the following application to send E-Mails from Outlook to SAP WEB AS Abap Stack:
    - I have created a COM-Addin in MS Outlook
    - When the user clicks on a button, that I have created, the currently marked E-Mail-Message is read
    - The E-Mail-Information is analysed
    - MS Internet Explorer is dynamically opened by my Outlook application
    - A html form is dynamically created
    - html form is posted dynamically to a BSP-application
-> Basically what I have is a HTML form, that is posted to a BSP application
I am facing the problem that Web AS is mixing up different sessions:
    - I have no user specified for my BSP application, that means whenever a client visits my page a login popup should appear
    - I have defined the first page of my web application as stateless
So what I expected was, that whenever my html form is posted to the Web AS, I get a logon popup, and everytime my web page is called a new session is started
Actually MS Internet Explorer and my BSP Web Application are acting differently:
When I post the html form for the first time, the logon popup appears and everything works fine
When I post the html form for the second time WITHOUT CLOSING THE FORMER INTERNET EXPLORER INSTANCE, the LOGON POPUP DOES NOT APPEAR, and the BSP application is using old, wrong data from the former html form
When I CLOSE ALL INTERNET EXPLORER INSTANCES, THE LOGON POPUP APPEARS, and I get the correct information for my BSP application
    ->
Whenever I have already sent a html form to the application and do not close all internet explorer instances, my BSP application mixes up old data
Whenever I have already sent a html form to the application and CLOSE all internet explorer instances, my BSP application is working fine.
I have the following settings for my BSP application in transaction SICF:
    - Logon Procedure: Stanadard
    - Anonymous Logon Data:
         Client: 301
         User: [blank]
         Password: [blank]
Does anybody have an idea how to get my application to work correctly?
    - I cannot change internet explorer settings as I have many clients and no authorization for that
    - I can change (maybe meta data?) the html form
    - Are there any settings of the BSP application that I can change, so that my application works fine
Thanks for your help in advance!
    Andreas

    Hello Sebastian,
    Thanks for your answer!!!
Unfortunately I cannot close the brower window via javascript, as my BSP application is not simply one page reveiving the form and sending one response page, but the BSP application consists of more pages (providing search functionalities,...).
    I have tried the following:
    - I have opened a new Internet Explorer application "IE-application1"
    - I have started my MS Outlook application which (dynamically) opened a new Internet Explorer "window2".
    - The Mail was saved to SAP
    - I closed the "window2"
    - I sent another mail to SAP via "window3"
-> SAP was still remembering the session of "window2" and mixed up the session (session info obviously was hold in "IE-application1")
I did not fully understand your answer refering to BSP Application "system" and its page "session_single_frame.htm" together with the source code of "session_single_frame.htm".
What I need is, to tell my startpage "index.htm" the following: Forget every cookie and session and whatever else you have had until now, take the input values of the html form and process them. Is this possible with "session_single_frame.htm"?
