E-recruitment and TREX

Hi,
I'm trying to configure the search engine for e-recruitment using TREX 7 (34) and ERP 6.
The SSR, index category etc are all set up for document class HR_DOC and document area HR_KW.
Using SKPR07 there is a message about a new api, SKPR_INDEXING1 but I've not found any help on this area.
However, for every client in the ERP system an index has automatically been created.  However, whilst the system can see documents to be indexed, none are being indexed.  Upon checking, there are no queues set up that relate to the indexes that were created.  Shouldn't there be a corresponding queue for each index?  If so, any ideas why these haven't been created?

Hi,
Thanks but I've resolved the issue now.  We didn't have any queues at first to be able to flush but it was matter of turning on a parameter to use a queue server.
There was a pre-processor authorisations problem too.
Note 658052 and 650521 sorted us as far as indexing documents.
Now onto why the searches through the portal return 0 hits whilst they work in the backend.  Still, a few more notes about that.

    Hello Brenda,
    I cannot speak for the EHS stuff but the tables you mentioned for E-Recruiting are part of the functional enhancements for e-recruiting 600 delivered with e-recruiting servie pack 7.
    E-recruiting delivered 2 service packs which implmented new functioons. These were the e-recruiting packs 5 and 7. Futere enhancements will be delivered with the standard EhP (enhancement package) szenario - first of them is EhP3 for e-recruiting awaylable today if i remémber the schedules correctly..
    You are probably missing these tables as you do not have installed the packages yet - so check your sp level. I strongly recommend you to upgrade to the newest service pack 11 for e-recruiting especially if you use / plan to use the webdynpro candidate frontend. But also for other implementation szenarios the sps are very urgent.
    For the table in detail:
    T77RCF_INCL2FORM - is a tablke for the new letter / correspondence change functionality using a dedicated changable text area in the smartform whixh has the advantage towards the old solution that changed correspondence can be printed propperly.
    All other tables are part of the so called dashboard functionality.
    You can find additional information on these functional enhancements in the software download centered of the sapnet under "Installations and Upgrades" -> "SAP Application Components" -> "SAP ERP" -> "SAP ERP 2005" -> "Documentation".

    I tried it.  It is technically possible but I'm not sure it is the best approach except that you run in Abap stack and you can use ALV...
    So it possible to create a WDA that call portal web service.  See that blog:
    Getting started with the KM Web Service API
    There is service for repository and for index management.
    You can test this service with WS Navigator.
    To use it in WDA, you have to:
    - create an Abap proxy (generate classes to call method/web service);
    - create a logical port (that generate a RFC destination -> depend on system and allow to select connection type. See SOAMANAGER transaction);
    - integrate web service call in WDA -> right clic on component and choosse create service call.

  • Transporting KM documents and TREX indexes

    Hi,
    We are planning to transport KM contents with folder permissions and their asscoiated TREX indexes to a new set of EP-KMC and TREX system.
    Can KM migration tool be used for transporting contents from one server to another with permissions.. Or shud we use ICE? Is there any recommended way ?
    How do we transport serach indexes from one server TREx installion to another of the same version..
    Any help ?

    Hi Bharathwaj,
    At the moment, the normal way to transport KM content (including ACL) is the ICE way. There are some known restrictions, see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/e2/61701deb253242bea2ebeafa190e83/frameset.htm , but if you can live with that, it's the most straight forward way.
    I'm unsure if the migration tool can do that / how easy that would be; never used it.
    A real KM transport tool will be part of the next major release...
    TREX indexes are not transportable at the moment. You have to re-create them on the target system.

  • SAP Landscape for ECC,EP,BW,XI, DMS and TREX

    Hi all,
    I am in the role of SAP Basis Consultant for an IT organisation. One of their client require to install SAP ECC ( FI-CO,MM,PS,HR,REM,PM), EP, BW, XI, DMS and TREX. Their plan is to use ECC 6.0 ( Netweaver 7.0 SR2) with EP 7.0 and all others are latest version. The Dev setup in WIndows-Oracle and production will be AIX-Oralce. In the Dev setup, install all the components in separate servers and in production it is to be combined as follows ERP+ SRM(later) in one server, EPXI in another server, BW in one server and DMSTREX in last one.
    Here my doubt is, this installation plan will have any issue?.
    Second, the data export from DEV ( windowsoracle) Production ( unix-AIXoracle) will have any issue?
    Please reply with details. As the project is in the planning phase.

    If your client need such a broad installation (SAP ECC ( FI-CO,MM,PS,HR,REM,PM), EP, BW, XI, DMS and TREX), I'm sure that they hired a Senior Project Manager together with a team of senior consultants in each of the areas to look after the implementation. Also i presume they have look into hardware requirements to ensure the landscape will deliver the adecuate performance to the target amount of concurrent users.
    As far as i can see from the 10 lines you wrote, I can't see a QA environment been considered... which I think is a mistake (thats only my own opinion). I can't see any issues having DEV runnning Windows and PRD running AIX (As long that youre confortable working in both environments). About the installation plan is very difficult to tell by your 10 lines but I'll try avoid having two big systems in the same box as ECC and SRM.

  • PI and TREX, correct versions?

    We are currently on PI 7.11
    I heard that TREX will become available and that we can use it to do content search in PI messages.
    As far as i know the TREX version will be 7.0
    Are PI 7.11 and TREX 7.0 compatible? Or do we need TREX 7.1?

    E-recruitment is a separate node. Recruitment and E-Recruitment are different. If you are implementing it for the first time you need a technical / basis person .
    SAP E-recruitment follows normal Recruitment cycle i.e.
    1. Creation of Requisition and then Approval.
    2. Creation of Job Posting and their approval.
    3. Applications from the Candidates ( Internal/External ) through different media
    4. Applicant tracking from the Support Team.
    5. At the time of Date of Joining , conversion of Applicant data to Master data. ( Through PA48 or XI )Interface

  • Trouble at step number 4 when connecting Nakisa and TREX

    We ran the report ESH_ADM_ INDEX_ALL_SC and went back to the cockpit to check the status of the connections. After refreshing the cockpit to get the new status', they came back as errored out.

    It should be noted that we have tested this whole process in our Sandbox environment and got through all of the steps with no errors anywhere.
    We are on Version 3.0 SP1 EhP4, and TREX Version 7.1 patch level 43.

    This problem has been resolved. After doing some preliminary research, for my next move I wanted to have our TREX admin make sure everything was connected inside TREX and it was working properly on its on with out outside Applications.
    This fixed the our problem getting Nakisa connected, as there was a TREX connectivity issue to begin with. We fixed the issue with TREX and then reran the report and they were all indexed properly.
    We are testing it now to make sure everything is working properly, and I will update this thread if there is any more questions or updates on our progress.

    Unfortunately there are no way to maintain these corresponding HRP51* tables in ECC according the documentation : Display/maintenance allowed to limited extent
    Usage of standard table maintenance tools is allowed to a limited extent:
    - Transaction SE16 allows the display function for this Dictionary object, but no maintenance.
    - Generation of a maintenance dialog for this Dictionary object is possible using transaction SE54
    - Transaction SM30 does not allow maintenance and display functions for this Dictionary object

    If E-Recruiting and HR has Instance Separate Instance, how do we get the Internal Candidate from HR system? By ALE? If yes, which program do we run to trigger the ALE?
    If ALE, what is happening when ALE is running? Will it create CP and BP? When NA will get created?
    How to assign a Login Id to Internal candidate?

    Hi Naddy,
    yes if you have a standalone installation the internal candidates are created via ALE (at least in the common cases).
    The common configuration for an e-recruiting ALE transfers organizational units, positions, jobs and employees. For the first 3 objects the inbound processing is done in the standard way. For employees the system uses the BADI HRALE00SPLIT_INBOUND with implementation HR_INB_PROCESS_IDOC to create central persons, business partners and candidate object.
    The user ID is taken from IT0105 subtype 0001. If the employee has no user assigned the system will generate one. To get hands on the login information (if there is no SSO) the user can request the password in the webfrontend. This requires that the user is maintained and known to the candidate or the emailadress is maintained in IT0105 subtype 0010. If not at least one of these 2 options is available for each candidate it would be an issue for the implementation project to deal with.
    The Idocs are created via T-Code PFAL (report RHALEINI) for the initial load of data. After this RBDMIDOC is used to create Idocs from the change pointers.

    As far as I know for recruitment you need to open vacant position to be able to run the process, but in E-Recruitment you do not need to create vacant position. You can run E-Recruitment with or without position.
    Also E-Recruitment can be linked with ipad or other tablet pc's such as managers or hr recruiters can take notes during the interview and notes in the interviews can directly be recorded in E-Recruitment.
    With E-Recruitment it is much easier to collect data of applicants who are not working in the company.
