E-Recruitment/E-Recruiting in the Portal

Hi Experts,
We are implementing SAP E-Recruitment and the SAP Portal. After following the IMG config steps, I am curious how the webdynpro pages appear in the portal. I can test the pages from SICF, but how do I complete the portal integration and get the pages to open from a tab within the portal?
Also, are any BSP pages still supported within E-recruiting? Or are all the pages webdynpro?

Dear Shane,
SAP e-Recruitment business package is split into two ui packages. One is on Web Dynpro ABAP and the other BSP technology. As a functionality all the candidate related pages like, internal/external/registered candidate related activities are developed in WD ABAP. All the recruiter, manager and administrator(upload questionaire etc) are handled in BSP technology.
As a background check(based on information), the busienss package was completly in BSP and later candidate related pages were moved to WD ABAP.
So finally, the business package is collaboration of BSP and WD ABAP UI technologies and BSP is very much part of it.

Currently we are having ECC 6.0 and EP 7.0
we are going to configure ESS & MSS in portal.

For e-recruiting no need to install anything in portal.
You need to integrate the backend system where you install the E-Rec BP.If you SSO it is well and good.
One more thing for E-Rec we cannot use the BSP iview templete because some important applications comes from middle and not in start page so if we use the BSP iview templete you have to display the first page or required page,but what if you want to display some link inside the BSP pages.
So in this case use URL iview templete.
Use function module generate_RFC_URL and copy the URL and create the iview and pass the client of the E-Rec system in the URL.

Error while accesing requisition from recruiter role in portal

Dear Experts ,
When we are trying to access *requisition in recruiter role in portal it is showing you are not authorized to perform this applcation. Can you pleae suggest me what will be the problem.
For clarity we are having EHP4 , and the portal nw7.1 , we have assigned SAP _ALL to the user we are testing and in portal we had assigned super admin , recruiter , recrutiment administrator.

Can E-RECRUITING share the same box of ECC?

I always install E-RECRUITING on a dedicated server as an ABAP application. Then connect to its backend ECC.
Just curious, can I install E-RECRUITING on the same box where its backend ECC system is installed? ECC and E-RECRUITING will have
different SIDs but co-exist in one Oracle MCOD DB.
Further more, can E-RECRUITING and its backend ECC belong to the same SID but on different clients?

Which infotype of E -recruitment is the position details stored

In E recruitment in the requisition the organization data tab page we need to know where the position details and the organization unit details are stored.I mean to ask which infotype of E rec.

Hello Rajeev,
if you assign a position to a requisition in the first subtab of the organizational data container sequence item you won't find information in any of the e-recruiting infotypes.
The system creates relations between the requisition (NB) and the positions (S) and stores them in HRP1001. They can be accessed throug the standard HR function modules or throug the e-recruiting classes e.g. CL_HRRCF_OI_BL.
The Organizational unit (O) and the Job (C) also read from the relations in table HRP1001.
If you only assign an organizational unit and job by filling the second subtab of the container sequence item. e-recruiting stores the Ids of the 2 objects in HRP5125 or HRP5126 (currently have no system to look for it).
Names / Texts for all these objects are stored like for all OM objects in HRP1000 and can also be accessed via the e-recruiting classes or through the OM function modules.

E Recruiting _does the line manager able to view updated Requisition

I donu2019t have MSS- e Recruiting service at present. Please can you clarify the following? Thanks in advance.
A Line manager submits the requisition on electronic form. The data submitted by the manager updates the Requisition. Then Recruiter added the some more information on the Requisition.
The question is that does the Line Manager able to see the additional information provided by the Recruiter on the Requisition.

This is how it works. In MSS the manager creates the requisiton request and fills certain details. Then it is forwarded to the recruiter. The recruiter then completes and publishes the requisition.
After this point the manager can view applications/candidates assigned to the requisition but not requisitions.
The requisition request is an HCM Processes and Forms frame work and it can be found in the UWL of the manager.

In The portal SAP have service for E-Recruiting(E-RC), Employee Self-Service(ESS), Manager Self-Service(MSS), Learning Solution(LSO), that are services of HCM.
My question is : SAP have solutions in the portal for the following components:
Materials Management (SAP-MM), SAP-FI , and other components of ERP in the portal?

Failed to get alias mappers sub context in the Portal Registry

Hi,
I have read a few posts on this error message (in EP6 SP12), but I am getting it in a context that has not yet been posted. What I am trying to do is create a link using the EPCM.doNavigate('ROLES://portal_content...') navigation. This seems to be working, but there is one problem, with a normal user, the detailed navigation disappears when they click my link. This doesn't happen for me, but something still isn't working properly.
I know in EP5 I got the link to work and the detailed navigation would reflect what link I clicked, but not in EP6.
Anyone know what I am doing wrong? The det. nav. should highlight the link I clicked, and it should definitely not disappear after clicking the link. It is not launching into a new window, just using the same one.

Work item not getting displayed in the portal

Hi experts,
We are creating a protoype for one of the standard HCM form for change in working time. When we initiate the process, the workflow is supposed to identify the agent(which is the manager in this case) and push the work item in the inbox of the manager.
In our issue, we are able to see the workitem in SAP inbox, but the same work item is not getting displayed in the portal.
If we try to approve from the SAP inbox, the hard coded message u201CWork item can only be executed using the Portal and the UWLu201D comes. [this comes through the method of one of the tasks 17900101 which we are using for approving the form]
We commented the message by using a Z class. Now we donu2019t get the hardcoded message, but still the workflow does not complete from here.
Can this be aan integration issue of the workflow tasks with the portal??Can someone elaborate on this??

try this solution oryginally posted by Craig Brandt in another topic.
Firstly make sure you have no old Java installs or 'add ons' lingering about on your system, check in programs and features (assuming your using windows 7) and uninstall Java completely. Check the add ons in IE and show: 'All add ons' - remove manually if required. Do a clean up of the computers temp files and cache. I used a program called ccleaner. Also check c:\users\<username>\app data\locallow\ and delete the 'Sun' folder. Then reboot machine.
- Install latest Java 1.7.0_51
- Go to Java control panel in windows control panel
- add the exception for your BOBJ server e.g. http://<SERVER>:8080
- click continue
- go to the advanced tab
- scroll down and tick 'use TLS 1.2'
- apply or OK to exit java control panel
- open 'Internet Options'
- go to the 'advanced' tab
- scroll down and tick 'use TLS 1.2'
- OK everything and close any IE windows
Now try again, you will need to enable the 'add on' when prompted on opening IE for the first time.
Also when accessing the BI Web I for the first time, I placed a tick in the 'do not show this again for apps from this publisher'

Not able to view the uploaded PAR file in the portal archive selection.

I have modified com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par and have renamed it to some other name.
Now I have uploaded the par file.
The problem is that when choose new from PAR option (to create iview from a par file),I am not able to see the par file in the Portal Archive selection.
I also want to know that if I am able to call the par file in the iview, can I use this iview to have a portal login.
Our requirement is that we want to give login page for the portal in the portal home page.The portal home page will be for the anonymous users.

Unable to log in to the portal - missing Directory Service?

Hi!
I'm unable to log in to the Management Portal, getting this error message:
"We are having trouble logging you into the portal. Your subscription does not have an associated directory and this is preventing us from logging you in. Please contact support."
I've tried to call Microsoft regarding this issue, each of the four times I was routed forward, given phone-numbers for Azure support and redirected, each call ended with basically the same reply "uuhhh... I don't support Azure, sir, and I don't know
how to help you..." - Microsoft needs to inform their frontline people better!
Anyways, at some point I was told that I have to "file a ticket" in the Azure support forums, and that a representative will call me up after. So here is the ticket, and I'm anxiously awaiting a reply.
In case I'm not clear - I have an urgent need to access the portal, as I need to put some more assets in there, aka *you're losing money, Microsoft!* (maybe that'll get your attention.. ;) )

Error when loggin on to the portal

Hello all,
I am new to the portal and I need your help to figure out a proble I have. When I log on to the portal I get the following error message on some of the tabs (not all):
No user mapping defined for system SAP_WebDynpro_XSS
When I get this message I am prompted to enter user ID and password.
Does anybody know what I am missing or how to solve this problem?

Well,
You have a system with alias SAP_WebDynpro_XSS which is used to show you were webdynpro applications for ESS/MSS are.
This system is setup with authentication user mapping, but most probably the SAP_WebDynpro_XSS is running on the same portal, and it should have been SAP logon Ticket.
So either
1) Go and setup a usermapping for alias SAP_WebDynpro_XSS, should probably be your portal username/password, or the username/password of the system hosting the webdynpros (do this under useradministration user mapping)
2) Change Logon method the system with alias
SAP_WebDynpro_XSS from user mapping to SAP logon ticket

Log on to the portal

I have installed the Portal 6.0 SP2 (version is 6.0.2.4.1.Enterprise_Portal_Service_Pack_2 and Operating system is Windows 2000)
I have created a user to login to the portal (I have disabled the user SAP*) and I can login to the portal with my new user.
The problem is that I cannot login to the portal if I try through another PC that is connected to the network. I can see the initial login page of the portal but when I type the ID and password I don't get logged in (it redirects me to the same page)!!! If I try to give wrong ID or password I get an authentication error!!
I don't think it a network problem as I can see the initial login page of the portal.
Any ideas?

We are running EP 6 SP10 and encountering the same error. Our Portal URL is working on a few machines but on some machines it keeps loading the first page. Also observed the same on different machines but same users.
Could you tell us what kind of DNS configuration did you do to correct this behavior?
