E- Recruitment related Portal work items
Hi All,
we are in the process of implementing E- Rec 6 in EP 6. This being the context require inputs on the following
1. How to go about installing TREX. can this be done by SAP HCM functional consultant or needs to be done by Portal consultant. If so what is the level of knowledge required by a Portal consultant
2. What all to be done wrt making the E- recruitment related pages i.e External Page, Internal page, Administrator, Recruiter etc UP and Running. Again to do this what is the level of knowledge required by a Portal consultant.
would appreciate a knowledge sharing on this.
thanks in advance
Hi
Portal consultant should takecare of Trex Installation .

PLEASE HELP ME.
Tanks
Shaik RafiHi All,
In such cases, please try to check as below :
1) Create Leave request work item from Employee and check the same under the UWL Tracking tab of employee.
2) Log-in to swi5 transaction of the respective back end system and give "US" -> manager's UserID -> Choose Tasks to be completed from the drop down -> Remove any date if mentioned -> Execute.
3) Here if you can see the Leave request created, but not on the portal, it reflects some portal issue like sync.
4) If no leave request work item is seen here, then there is a problem in the employee manager mapping or the workflow setup.
5) In such cases, you can try to check the Swi1 and check the log of that workflow to understand the current status of the Leave request.
Revert if further help is needed with more info.
Reward points if found useful.

Work item not getting displayed in the portal
Hi experts,
We are creating a protoype for one of the standard HCM form for change in working time. When we initiate the process, the workflow is supposed to identify the agent(which is the manager in this case) and push the work item in the inbox of the manager.
In our issue, we are able to see the workitem in SAP inbox, but the same work item is not getting displayed in the portal.
If we try to approve from the SAP inbox, the hard coded message u201CWork item can only be executed using the Portal and the UWLu201D comes. [this comes through the method of one of the tasks 17900101 which we are using for approving the form]
We commented the message by using a Z class. Now we donu2019t get the hardcoded message, but still the workflow does not complete from here.
Can this be aan integration issue of the workflow tasks with the portal??Can someone elaborate on this??<ItemType name="uwl.task.webflow.TS17900101.SAP_ECC" connector="WebFlowConnector" defaultView="DefaultView" defaultAction="launchWebDynPro" executionMode="default">

Hi All,
When a transaction is submitted by an employee. It routes to the manager approval through work item. In the Portal Inbox of the Manager he could find the task to approve. When he clicks on Task we are getting an Error as 500 Internal Server error.

Edited by: Venkatesh Padarti on Dec 9, 2010 8:29 AMHi Venkatesh,
Can you please share the solution? Which base URL was wrong and where did you correct that?
Your help is really appreciated.
I had post the same question at SRM workflow - work Item is not being displayed If you want to reply there. I will definitely, reward with points too.

Need to open an ABAP WebDynpro application from Portal UWL work item
Hi All
I need some suggessions on how to navigate to an ABAP WebDynpo application iview from a mail(Work Item) in portal UWL.
Requirement in detail:
Agreements will be created from portal( Agreement Creation Application is developed in ABAP webDynpro and iview has been created with in the portal for this WD application). as and when the agreement is created a mail (ECC Workitem) should trigger to the approver, who has access to portal and check the mail(Work Item) from the portal UWL.
The mail body should consist the link to the Agreement created in portal ( Link to navigate to the Agreement Creation ivew).
So, the main requirement is user should navigate to the Agreement creation iview when he open the mail from UWL.
Mail can be sent from ECC by using ABAP Function modules or by creating a workflow
Please advice me on how can we achieve this requirement.
Thanks & regards

Edited by: VIJAY BEDAMSETTY on Apr 19, 2011 5:42 PMHi,
You can call the iView directly by using NavigationTarget..
http://myServer:50000/irj/portal?
NavigationTarget=ROLES://portal_content/myFolder/myRole/myIview
Plz note that the iView you are calling should be part of a Role.
And the PCD location of the iView in the Role must be given for Navigation Target.

Can POWL work items be executed from Portal???
Hi All,
May any one tell me if POWL work items from any other system (GRC, for example) be executed in Portal?
As of now, the POWL item is visible in Portal. However, it can not be executed and give below error:
Not sure how to troubleshoot this and get these POWL items executed from Portal. Any help on this would be a great help!
Regards,
FaisalVeera,
Thanks for your reply.
Yes, the respective application in GRC system can be executed from SE80.
Not only that, from NWBC, these types of work items can be successfully executed. The problem is that, the can not be executed from Portal.
Please advise.

MSS PORTAL - RUN TIME ERROR WHEN EXECUTING A WORK ITEM IN UWL
Hi all,
I've a requirement wherein I need to have a custom screen in place of 'standard user decision' task in the UWL of MSS portal. I've developed a custom screen with Approve and Reject buttons and it works fine if I execute the work item from SAP inbox whereas in portal (UWL), it gives a run time error stating,
Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing your request
Exception id: 10:56_12/05/08_0020_509163550.
I'm sure that this error is due to missing configuration between the dynpro and the Portal. All inputs in this regard will be of great help and will be valuable to me.
Thanks in advance,
Bharathi.Hi
Looking at the error message I feel like there is something wrong in the task object and object method. You are using a class in the task make sure that class has the IF_WORKFLOW. Mak sure the task is enabled with synchronous task method check box.

Can you customize the Portal Page_Path item to use relative paths?
Why does the built-in Portal page_path item generate absolute paths instead of relative paths? It would seem to me to make sense that a breadcrumb (page_path) link would always be on the current site and that relative paths would make sense.
Is there a setting that can be changed for it to generate relative paths?
Thanks,
JeffI don't think that the portlets lend themselves to a viewing (compact) vs. using (maximized) distinction, beyond what the "Show/Hide Folders" button provides.
In other words, with the folders hidden, things are as small as we felt we could make them for both viewing and editing. The layout is quite liquid and can be stretched and shrunk to fit, given the realities of the items in each portlet (large quantities, long titles, etc.). The visitor tools allow you to arrange the portlets however you'd like.
Admittedly, the WYSIWYG editor is quite large and we'd like to provide options for the user to size it for their screen or to show/hide it in a future release.
One thing that would help would be user-selectable columns in tables I suppose. That way you could hide more columns to save space.
At one point we put the portlet in maximized mode when the user edited something, but that required a full post of the browser, negating the benefits of the AJAX portlet refreshing only itself.
Do you have any specific examples of what you'd like to see more compact?
Your feedback is much appreciated. -

(Points will be rewarded)Hi,
Case1: Whether 2 or more work items can exists in a single IDOC No
Possible- since the a segment can have many children segments.
Case 2: Whether a same work item can exist in more than 1 IDOC No
Not possible if the node is a root, but if it is any leaf node than possible.
Case 3: Which of the following status among the below are considered as closed or open.

Report to get cumulative effort based on child items related to parent work item
We have created a new work item type called 'Release'
Release -> Features -> PBI/Bugs -> Tasks/Test Case
I have requirement to create many reports that has to filtered across the Release work item been created. We usually slice it by Area/Iteration but here the requirement is different.
For ex:
Releases Overview report:
Release name| Owner as AssignedTo| Status Indicator | Completed Work | Remaining Work | Open Impediments
I can fetch all the release work items (Work Items with System_workItemType =Release) w.r.to team project for this report. But for other calculations :
Compute Open Impediments
Find all the child items belong to the parent 'Release work item'
Pick Open Impediments (Work_Item_Count with System_workItemType=Impediment and State = Open) in that list.
Is this possible by querying olap ? Or we need to go for stored procedures for querying warehouse?
please give a fair idea to start with and good resources for learning MDX.
Thanks
DivyaHi Divya,
Thanks for your post.
To get the Release work items and all linked Impediments, you can try to create the Work item and direct links query, under Filters for lined work items section, set Type of trees = Parent/Child, work item type = Impediments and State = Open. Please refer
to the information in this document:https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd286705.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396.
For such a Release Overview report, you need create your custom report. For the MDX resource, please refer to this document:https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms144785.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396.
Or contact SQL Server Reporting Service experts for the better response
And you can also create the work item report using TFS API.
We are trying to better understand customer views on social support experience, so your participation in this interview project would be greatly appreciated if you have time. Thanks for helping make community forums a great place.

Warning messages "You are not a receiver of the work item"...
Hi Experts,
We are facing an issue in which couple of users are getting warning messages "You are not a receiver of the work item" in there Portal Inbox. But they are not getting any warning message while accessing the same from R/3 inbox. We tried replicating the issue but it is working fine for us. Is it related to workitems which are of any particular type??? Kindly suggest.....
Just to add some more thing we have gone through the Forum : UWL workitem error: you are not a receiver of the work item and also the OSS notes: 1133821, but we do not get any appropriate solution.
Please suggest.
Appreciate your quick response.
Thanks,
Harish
Edited by: harish vyas on May 3, 2010 1:24 PMHi Enrique,
Yes users are using SSO.
As suggested I have checked in transaction SU53 and there is no error message for the user i.e. we are getting success message as "The last authorization check was successful".
Please suggest what can I try.
Also adding to this, Warning message which users are getting is not a show stopper i.e. they are able to process workitems successfully.
Thanks,
Harish
