E-Recruitment - Resume scanning by Trex server

Hi Experts,
In E-recruitment, can TRex server search a string through attached resume? If yes, what are the pre-requisites? any configuration requirement?

Hi,
it is standard functionality in e-recruiting. Go into IMG into E-Recruting -> Talent Warehouse -> Candidate Search -> Search profiles. You will find a step for "Assign attachment types to search profiles". There you can define the searchable attachments. But it just works if you create search indexes as described in the IMG or indexing notes for component PA-ER in service market place.

  • Same TREX server for KM indexing and e-Recruitment

    Hi,
Is it possible to use the same TREX server for KM indexing on the portal and e-Recruiting searches on R/3?
    Many thanks
    Jane

    Hi,
in general and from a technical view it's possible.
But it depends on the load of the applications, perhaps it's a better approach to separate them e.g. for a productive environment.

  • Canon Scan to Folder (Server 2008 R2) suddenly doesnt work

Canon Scan to Folder (Server 2008 R2) suddenly doesnt work
We have a few Canon Multi Functionals who have been able to Scan to Folder to our Server 2008 R2 File Server.
Since last Windows Updates(13 sep 2012) it doesnt work anymore...
Nothing has changed to the folders or shares. Shares are like:
    \\fs01\scans\IT
    Shared folder is \\fs01\scans
Share permissions are Full for Everyone
On the folder IT, only the IT department and the Canon Scan user have full conrol...
When I turn off the Windows Firewall on the FS01, it works.
Then i get a SMB = OK on the Multi Functional.
When I turn on the WIndows Firewall, i get a SMB = NG on the multifuntional
I checked the rules, and everthing concerning File and Printer Sharing is allowed...
Can anyone please think what to do?
Because  really don't want to go on with the Windows Firewall Disabled.
The Endpoint Protection 2010 Anti Virus is installed on the FS01, but since disabling the Windows Firewall works, i don't think the Anti Virus has anything to do with it.
Update: I just tried it to two other  Servers 2008 R2 (with also the Windows Firewall on) and it works! So there is something wrong with that one Server... But as far as I can see, the firewall has all File and Printer Sharing things open...
And when i log on with the Canon Scan user on a PC i can browse to them locations just fine. I also reset the firewall setting to default and reopened the printers and sharing settings

The canon surelly do a check on another port that is not allowed in your firewall.
Run a wireshark on that server. Filter ip.src == ip of a canon.
Check on what port the canon talk to your server and open it.
Last option, does your printer are in another vlan/lan ? Maybe a firewall rule that does not see the printer in your local lan. Thus the rule might block it now.

  • Importance of TREX server and services for Services registry

    Hello All
Is a TREX Server and TREX services mandatory to be able to connect to the services registry??
Because I have no trex server and when i browse the services registry , no results are yielded..
Need information on the TREX and relation with the registry.
    Thanks
    Vijay

TREX is not mandatory to connect to Service Registry. But to Search a service in the registry, TREX is used in the backend.

  • How the CRM data is transferred (initial load) to TREX server in CRM EHP1

    Hi Guru's
I am working on HV segmentation first time and would like to know, how the CRM data is transferred (initial load) to TREX server in CRM EHP1, if we create the 'Data source for HV - Attribute set / Inforset' will that transfer the data to TREX server or do we need to perform Initial load by execute by batch program / Transaction.
For the update (delta load) is the program : CRM_MKTTG_TREX_UPDATE to update the BP data, can we also add other objects (Transactional data) for delta load.
    Regards,
    Ajay Kumar

    Hi Ajay,
Yes you are right the Report CRM_MKTTG_TREX_UPDATE is used for Full load (inital load) for HV segmentation data.
Both Full and Delta load is suggested to be performed in background. You can use the options "Business partners" and "Marketing permissions". For BP's you can use Delta upload with further options:
    Synchonize Business Partners Beforehand
    Force Update
Offset for Delta Table Entries (in sec.)
You can also "Define Delta Source Objects for High Volume Segmentation" in SPRO > MKT > HV segmentation.
Here you can set relevant data source objects that is available for delta upload.
For more details refer to documentation next to the customization entry.
    Hope this information helps you.

  • Where are TREX index stored? TREX server File system? or KM repository?

    hi, friends:
can  someone tell me where are TREX index stored ?
    in TREX server file system?
or in portal KM repository? file system or DB?
    thank you
    Carol

    Carol,
TREX is a separate product. During installation and configuration of TREX you connect it to the portal. The search iViews of the portal will use the configured TREX server to do the actual search:
    SAP Help: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/a4/929d4206b70931e10000000a1550b0/content.htm
The index is stored on the TREX server: TREX/IndexServer/basepath/index=%(SAP_RETRIEVAL_PATH)/index

  • Search-Function without TREX server ?

    Hello to all,
I want to use the Search-Function but we don't have a TREX server. Can I nevertheless use it? Which iView can I take? And which settings do I need?
    Are there guidances for it?
    Thank you and regards.
    Galyna

    Galyna,
No unfortunately you cannot - TREX is required for search functionality and as such there is nothing else built into Portal/CM that will do the same thing.
I would guess it is not worth your effort trying to do your own thing !!!!

  • Changing the TREX server

    Hi,
We have TREX 7.0 installed in Solman. We have configured our SRM system to use TREX. Now we would like to bring the TREX server to the same system where SRM runs (SRM 4.0).
So there would be a server hostname change (From SOLMAN to SRM) for TREX configuration.
I have checked the URL in help.sap.com (attached below) which explains the "Changing the TREX Host Name (Single Host)", is it the only changes I have to perform for this switch over?
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/47/1b074063616446e10000000a114a6b/frameset.htm
    Please advice.
    Thanks
    Shyl

    Hi,
Regarding the change in TREX server, please go through the below details and provide your inputs on the same,
    Current Scenario:
TREX 7.0 is installed in Solution Manager system.
TREX is used by SRM and PI applications through RFC.
    Requirement:
TREX for SRM should be moved from existing Solution Manager system to SRM server.
    Question:
As per help.sap.com for host name change for TREX servers, it is mentioned only change the host name in TREX configuration files and Profile settings. But we have installed TREX 7 only in Solution Manager. We have older version of TREX in SRM server. So if we follow help.sap.com and change the files and move the file systems related to TREX 7 from Solution Manager to SRM system, is that the only change we have to perform?
    OR
Do we need to install TREX 7 in our SRM server and then move related file system to the installed SRM server?
Please note that after the move also, TREX which use in PI application should work as usual.
I welcome all your inputs on this subject.
    Thank you in advance.
    Regards,
    Shyl

  • How to install   the TREX server

    Hello,
Cam any one explain me how to installl and configure the TREX server in portal.
    Thanks in Advance

    hi,
TREX is a standalone server which indexes the documents in the repositories.TREX is based on a client/server architecture. The client software is integrated into the
application that uses the TREX functions, and allows communication with the TREX servers.
The TREX servers execute the requests of the clients: They index and classify documents
    and respond to search queries.
    Look at
    service.sap.com/instguidesNW04  -> Installation ->Installation Guide Search and Classification TREX 6.1   .

  • TREX server

    Hi Exports
I am working on Solution Manager 7.0 EHP. we want to install trex server, my question is do we require any additional software licensing for this installation from SAP. consider it as high priorty
    Regards
    Subbaraju

When you mention 'other activities'... what exactly? If I remember correctly, the Solution Manager license agreement includes clauses about using the Solution Manager technology components only in the Solution Manager, not externally. As an example, the CRM functionality included with Solution Manager should not be used outside ChaRM, Service Desk and Maintenance Optimizer, I would assume that the same applies to TREX within Solution Manager.
In any case, the Service Desk usage of TREX is included in the Solution Manager license, for the 'solution database' functionality.

  • Trex Server Indexing

    Hi all DMS Guys
I am Carrying out implementation of DMS , Content Server, and Trex server for the first time.
I have completed DMS , and Content Server  configuration.
I want Information on Trex server configuration or some documentation on TREX server configutation and installation.
If any body can pls help me urgently it would be great help.
    Thanks
    With Warm Regards

    Hi Mangesh,
If you are looking for a Search Option to be activated in DMS then its very simple,
Go To T.code SKPR07 (KPRO IMS: Monitoring), select Tools tab,
and in Document Class Field Select : Select "DMS:Physical Object for main Originals"
    2. In Main menu under Edit select Administration, you get an POP-Up menu of Administration, fill "Document Class" (DMS_PCD1), Document area (DMS), Management table (DMS1DIDSTA)
    Check (tick) "Create Indexing Readiness"
Click on the "Indexable Attributes" you get the sub-screen select all or required one.
You can schedule the indexing job by two ways i.e. by ABAP program RSTIRIDX with a T.Code SM36. click on job wizard & Proceed.
After doing all above steps you can see in CV04N SearchTxt Field

  • Sizing TREX-Server

    Hi everybody,
hope someone can help me regarding TREX installation in a Non-Portal-Environment.
Our customer has a content of about 400GB, which is to be indexed. Questions:
    1) Which experience you made when installing TREX Server    in the case of needed RAM, HDD, and CPU?
    2) How easy or difficult is it to implement a distributed TREX scenario? I already checked the SAP Material, but as you know they always explain it on high level.
    3) Can TREX also search for DMS content in an Archive-server? Our server is connected over HTTP. First I heard, yes it is possible, now I heard it's impossible. Maybe there exists a workaround.
Thanks for your answers and help.

    Hi Kruno,
on http://service.sap.com/sizing you will find a sizing paper for TREX 6.1 in the Media Library. That should answer 1).
    2) The documentation on "Scaling TREX" (6.0) and its eqivalent for TREX 6.1 "Conf. Guide - Distributed TREX 6.1 Systems" that can be found http://service.sap.com/instguides are actually rather detailed. What kind of info are you missing?
    3) Should be answered by a DMS contact hopefully as TREX does not take care of the connectivity itself.
    Regards, Karsten

  • Does the netweaver Sp14 trial version include TREX server ?

HI ,I download the netweaver Sp14  java trial version ,I found the install description include the TREX.
But when I installed sucessfully the netweaver ,I found the the trex server is not installed in the netweaver,
Is that mean if I want to do some index on KM ,I have to find the license to install TREX server, then I can use trex in the netweaver ?

    Hi,
I think TREX is an individual installation. Check the installation guide for the package you downloaded. You can check them from http://service.sap.com/instguides
